But Huawei’s plans for 6G and beyond make U.S. concerns over 5G look paltry: Huawei is proposing a fundamental internet redesign, which it calls “New IP,” designed to build “intrinsic security” into the web. Intrinsic security means that individuals must register to use the internet, and authorities can shut off an individual user’s internet access at any time. In short, Huawei is looking to integrate China’s “social credit,” surveillance, and censorship regimes into the internet’s architecture.

    You are too funny!

My favorite whack job, Marjorie Taylor Greene just LEVELED Swalwell. MTG asked AOC for a debate on the Green New Deal (via twitter). Swalwell stuck his nose where it doesn’t belong.

When you aren’t on any committees you can propose stunts like this.

Hello, 911? I’d like to report a murder.

Well we all know how you serve on Intel, Judiciary, and Homeland Security Committees.

With your pants around your ankles, giving it to China.

so, my bro and i decided to play a 7 round match over 7 months, one each month.

on each hole a coin is flipped to determine stroke or match play.

.5 points for winning the stroke portion, .5 for winning the match portion, .5 BONUS if ya win them both.

we had no coins…he had a jamaican $20 coin in his bag, we used that. it has marcus garvey on the front, and 20 on the back. 20 for stroke, marcus for match. eeezyyy right?

well, yinz need a trophy to play for, so i got a nice old london made pewter pint mug. good stuff.

ya need a trophy base, right? so i modified a cigar box and made a a little chalk board with two jamacian 20’s to fit in the lid so that the other members can see the progress and score. one coin is garvey, the other is the 20. it looks great too. i did a nice job.

we call it the marcus garvey cup, ya know why? b/c raaaaaacissss. well, its the only the coin we had on us when the tourney started. but raaaaaacissss.

    yep.

we named a continuing event amongst two white brothers after marucs garvey because raaaaaaassssisssss. 🙄

we have black CC members too. juss sayin.

i’m up 1.5 points after the first round. he folded on the back 9 and i went lights out.

Garvey believed in economic independence for the African diaspora and through UNIA set about to achieve that through the formation of ventures like the Black Star Line and the Negro Factories Corporation.[406] In Garvey’s opinion, “without commerce and industry, a people perish economically. The Negro is perishing because he has no economic system”.[372]

Garveyism promoted the view that whites had no duty in assisting blacks achieve racial equality, maintaining that the latter needed to advance themselves on their own initiative.[370] He promoted racial separatism,[371] but did not stress the idea of racial superiority

    @ Bunk X:

It’s a symptom of how widely the QAnon delusion has spread in the U.S. In December, an NPR/Ipsos poll estimated that 1 in 3 Americans believed in some of the key tenets of the extremist ideology; another survey, by the conservative American Enterprise Institute, found 29% of Republicans agreed that Trump “has been secretly fighting a group of child sex traffickers that include prominent Democrats and Hollywood elites.”

You have to read that very closely to realize the conflation there. Nice try.

More on the Vatican’s ‘mind, body, soul’ confab

The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture is set to host Chelsea Clinton, Anthony Fauci, Deepak Chopra, and others for a May conference to explore the “mind, body, and soul” and its role in health care.

The Vatican Council for Culture and the Cura Foundation and the Science and Faith (STOQ) Foundation are partnering together to host “the world’s leading physicians, scientists, leaders of faith, ethicists, patient advocates, policymakers, philanthropists and influencers to engage in powerful conversations on the latest breakthroughs in medicine, health care delivery and prevention.”

Speakers for the virtual conference are the world’s elites. Those picked to lecture on health and the soul include CEOs of large pharmaceutical companies, including Moderna and Pfizer, and former supermodel Cindy Crawford, English primatologist Jane Goodall, Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry, and CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

The FBI confirmed Hole was temporarily placed in a mental health facility last year after his mother raised concerns that he wanted to take his life through police. “In March 2020, the suspect’s mother contacted law enforcement to report he might try to commit ‘suicide by cop,'” FBI Special Agent in Charge Paul Keenan said in a statement obtained by NBC News
    .
    .
A shotgun was seized from the suspect’s home upon the concerns raised by his mother, and he was interviewed by the FBI in April 2020. No racially motivated violent extremism was suspected of Hole. His shotgun was not returned to him, the FBI said.

The article also says he was a former employee. The pic shows him to be a bit of a dweeb.

Wow. A dad whose daughter had attended a exclusive school in NYC has had enough. He pulled his daughter out of school and wrote an incandescent letter to the other parents.

It cannot be stated strongly enough that Brearley’s obsession with race must stop. It should be abundantly clear to any thinking parent that Brearley has completely lost its way. The administration and the Board of Trustees have displayed a cowardly and appalling lack of leadership by appeasing an anti-intellectual, illiberal mob, and then allowing the school to be captured by that same mob. What follows are my own personal views on Brearley’s antiracism initiatives, but these are just a handful of the criticisms that I know other parents have expressed.

I object to the view that I should be judged by the color of my skin. I cannot tolerate a school that not only judges my daughter by the color of her skin, but encourages and instructs her to prejudge others by theirs. By viewing every element of education, every aspect of history, and every facet of society through the lens of skin color and race, we are desecrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and utterly violating the movement for which such civil rights leaders believed, fought, and died.

I object to the charge of systemic racism in this country, and at our school. Systemic racism, properly understood, is segregated schools and separate lunch counters. It is the interning of Japanese and the exterminating of Jews.

I know I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I’m not fucking stupid either.

    Crypto is a trap.

Think about this scenario. Call me crazy if you want, but I’ve been doing this a long time (systems analysis).

You’ve got a ‘currency’ that has no basis in the real world. It’s bits in a computer. A computer requires electricity. Verification of every crypto transaction is called ‘mining’ and the process for that is so resource intensive in terms of computer/electric resources that it strains power grids in underdeveloped countries where people can earn a lot, relatively speaking, for verifying the transactions.

Add to that resource load the push for electric transportation. Ford, et. al, who have said all the cars they will produce after such and such a date will be electric, have been told the grid infrastructure is not there to support the load.

Now demand the majority of electric power be supplied by ‘green’ sources. Solar, turbines, whatever. None of which, even in combination, can support the grid that’s in place now.

Constant computer ‘money’ with mining that is unbelievably demanding of the electric resources and what happens? The grid crashes.

    Where is your ‘money’?

Now demand the majority of electric power be supplied by ‘green’ sources. Solar, turbines, whatever. None of which, even in combination, can support the grid that’s in place now.

Constant computer ‘money’ with mining that is unbelievably demanding of the electric resources and what happens? The grid crashes.

    Where is your ‘money’?

That’s why I don’t put any actual cash in it. Right now it’s like monopoly money to me. I’ll wait until it hits a tidy sum and cash out. Never cost me a cent.

Nice try.

Qanon is nuts but there is something to the idea that the “elites” are a bunch of pedos. Look at Hollywood and the things that we know and the things that aren’t being allowed to come out like Corey Feldman’s accusations. Then look at all the pedos in politics. This isn’t random. There may not be some huge conspiracy but without a doubt there are a massive number of pedos and ephebophiles in power. I think the ranting and raving about Qanon is a smokescreen in order to help cover for these scumbags. And yes, expose after expose on television has shown that pedos do ACTUALLY have organization and an active network. They exchange videos, photos, and even children. They are incredibly active online and effective at covering their tracks, so Qanon isn’t to horribly far off in their ideas. Where they truly miss their mark is their delusion that there is some great organization and plan to stop this horror.

I haven’t even STARTED on China’s move to set up digital currency.

If you want to play with a few hundred bucks or whatever, fine. I’m sure a lot of people will make a bundle in crypto but I won’t. Most of us have the intellectual stones to figure out simple econ stuff like inflation, bonds, etc. But most people do NOT have the smarts to figure out crypto and that leads to a social division that makes what we have now look like a walk in the park. “Oh, his wallet has paper money, the rube” while a bunch of other folks have all their wealth in crypto? It’s a status marker.

Now tie your crypto status marker to your social credit score.

Seriously. Do not go there. Spend your time learning how to grow food and distill water.

    Right on.

The core of crypto is the self serving process of proving that it is not illegitimate. BUT that cost in energy produces nothing physical and is just vapour and 0 and 1 s. A huge hydro electric dam and generator in the South Otago region of NZ currently supplies energy to the aluminium producer Alcoa at Bluff. The purest grades of metal reproduced there. In 5 years Bluff will be a goat town with thousands of redundancies in the surrounding area. The energy from the Bluff smelters will go to massive crypto IT facility alongside ghe dam that will use the power supporting crypto mining work. NOTHING will flow from the facility except gold standard guarantees that the stored 0 and 1 s are all legit.

Meanwhile no aluminium flows and no real products happen.

Yeah this crap should never happen. Also the bullshit of graphics card prices being pushed into the stratosphere because of dataminers is asinine. Gamers can’t afford graphics cards while freaking dataminers have banks upon banks. On the plus side if you aren’t afraid of the cards being worn down you can pick up used cards from dataminers after they do their upgrades for pennies on the dollar. But the damn dataminers are the whole reason no one can find Nvidia 30 series cards for reasonable costs in stock anywhere right now.

Nope, cryptocurrency miners buy up all the gaming video cards and build machines made up of banks of video cards using their processors to “mine” crypto. This causes a massive shortage in video cards. Happens with every new gen now.

but there is a stress and a frustration with crypto so maybe its counter productive.

I was at the dentist last month for 4 cavities. While I didn’t feel any pain my brain sort of went into shock from all the work. I still get echos of it feeling like someone has hit me in the head. I think I incurred some amount of subconscious stress. Probably only cured by space babes.

Nah, Razer is a longtime hardware company. Been dealing with them for years with low level purchases. Their one of the major gaming hardware players. Out of Singapore and California. Had many years in operation to gain peoples trust. Plus I’m not dealing in crypto with them. I’m just earning “gold” towards free shit, can earn them playing games too. It’s just a fun side. Costs me nothing, gets me free shit. It’s basically a case of giving them some of my processing power for a couple hours a night while I sleep and I get free stuff. Hell, I do it while running my app that does the processing for medical stuff too, same kind of deal. Gives them no access to my data one way pipeline with limited info just an encrypted string of blockchain.

Though there is quite a bit of transparency built in if you know where to look. The tutorials on coinbase show how to do it. In a way it’s like being an investor on the stock market and having access to all the data on the crypto you are invested in. Each crypto lays out what their rise and fall is tied to and you can make judgements based on that. Most of it is over my head so I kind of let it slide. I did see one that I could tell right off was going to make a huge jump and dumped several underperforming ones and transferred them over to it and my portforlio jump from under 100 to over 300 in about two weeks. So, going with my gut in that case paid off. Unlike my micro-stocks. Who thought investing in ammo and weed under this administration would be a losing proposition.

Most of this is behind a paywall, but the first part is enough

TAIPEI—The worst drought in half a century is hitting Taiwan, adding strain to an island that is home to two-thirds of the world semiconductor manufacturing capacity during the worst global chip shortage in recent memory.

The drought’s impact on semiconductor producers, which require voluminous quantities of water to churn out chips, is so far modest as the government creates exceptions for these manufacturers. But companies are starting to make adjustments, and officials have warned that the water shortage could worsen without adequate rainfall.

Taiwan’s semiconductor wafer-fabrication factories, or fabs, account for 65% of global production, according to the research firm TrendForce. Most of that capacity belongs to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. , the world’s biggest contract chip maker.

“Taiwan is the center of gravity for semiconductor manufacturing,” said Syed Alam, global lead of the semiconductors practice at Accenture. “This is one thing you don’t need adding more pressure on the situation.”

Seasonal typhoons provide Taiwan with much of its water reserves. But a lack of storms last year has strained supplies, prompting the government to start rationing water for more than a million businesses and residents.

Besides one does not make the other impossible. Just because it came from an animal doesn’t answer the question of where the animal got it.

There was an article a long time ago that pointed out markers on the virus showing how it “could have” been engineered from the existing strains, but it’s been so long I don’t think I could find it. Any search now is flooded with nothing but article “showing” how it only could have evolved “naturally” from existing strains. Which as far as I know is actually impossible to prove only conjecture.

Once again their side shows they are the “science based” people. The doubters put out information showing that there are markers the virus “may have” been engineered. Their side puts out information stating that the virus absolutely evolved naturally and there is “no way” it was created.

Sorry, but I’m not an expert but as far as I know the differences are so slim that there is no way to be 100% certain yet they are acting as if they already know everything.

Michigan set to make coronavirus restrictions on businesses permanent

The state of Michigan is moving to make the state’s emergency coronavirus restrictions permanent.

Michigan’s regulatory agencies plan to make COVID-19 rules such as mask wearing, social distancing, daily health screenings, record-keeping, and keeping a “COVID-19 safety coordinator” on-site permanent for Michigan businesses. Businesses would be forced to require their customers wear masks, whether or not they have been vaccinated against the virus.

Other proposed permanent rules include requiring sports stadiums to “establish safe exit procedures for patrons,” with dismissing fans by section listed as a possible option.

Bit coin is possibly a Chinese weapon in the bid to dethrone the US dollar as the Reserve currency.

yeah, I posted about it the other day. Steve Bannon was talking about Thiel’s remarks which is how I picked up on it. The thing I think some people are missing about cypto is that anyone can invent one, it’s just a mirage. The one thing that makes it viable is blockchain tech. That is what allows it to be decentralized. China doesn’t like decentralized, therefore China should be trying to corner not the currency but the blockchain tech. And that’s where it’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Because it’s the blockchain verification that is killing the grids. If you follow the imbedded link to the article about illegal mining in Mongolia (and who ever thought THAT would be a headline?)

But the industry has contracted since then, in the face of ever tighter government regulation, and has just taken another blow: The provincial government of Inner Mongolia issued (in Chinese) draft measures to “clean up and shut down” all cryptocurrency mining operations by the end of April 2021.

The new rules are not specifically targeted at crypto: They are intended to rein in all energy intensive industries (Inner Mongolia was the only province to fail a central government review of energy consumption last year). Aside from crypto mining, they will also limit PVC, steel, coke, and methanol production. But the Inner Mongolian energy crackdown adds yet another difficulty for China’s crypto miners, who set up operations in the province because of cheap electricity produced using locally-mined coal. And miners need a lot of electricity: The bitcoin economy uses more electricity annually than the whole of Argentina, according to analysis by researchers at Cambridge University.

    https://supchina.com/2021/03/09/bitcoin-mining-is-still-huge-in-china-despite-new-ban-in-inner-mongolia/

So using crypto to unseat the dollar as a reserve currency doesn’t seem to me to be a viable strategy at the moment.

I think the FDA is about to take the J & J vax off the market. People are bitching because only 6 women have been affected by clots. But what I’m reading is that there are many more adverse reactions that do not involve clots and are suffered by men also.

Three college graduates—one in Math, one in Engineering, and one in Economics—sit for a job interview.
The question they’re all asked is “What’s 2+2?”

The Math graduate goes to the whiteboard, fills it with a proof, and concludes that, “A solution exists.”

The Engineering graduate consults his addition tables, writes some calculations down, graphs his results, and says, “3. But we’ll make it 5 just to be safe.”

The Economics graduate locks the door behind him, closes the curtains over the windows, and finally whispers, “How much do you want it to be?”

Very soon I’ll be introducing a resolution to expel
    @RepMaxineWaters
from Congress for her continual incitement of violence on innocent American people.

Rep Waters is a danger to our society.

After traveling across state lines to incite riots, her orders recorded on video last night at the Brooklyn Center, directly led to more violence and a drive by shooting on National Guardsmen in Minnesota early this morning.

As a sitting United States Congresswoman
    @MaxineWaters
threatened a jury demanding a guilty verdict and threatened violence if Chauvin is found not guilty. This is also an abuse of power.

Ok, this is strange. Had a reaction to the series 1 Moderna vaccine. A full week and a half after getting the vaccine I had an injection site flare up where my arm around the site got red and sore like it was two days after the shot. Stayed that way for several days. Have never had that reaction to any vaccine in my life. Still isn’t back to normal, sore to the touch and site is warmer than the rest of my body.

Speaking of stupid ideas coming from Minneapolis:

Minneapolis city council moves toward unarmed traffic enforcers after Daunte Wright shooting

In the wake of the fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright during a traffic stop outside Minneapolis last week, city officials have approved a move toward unarmed traffic enforcers.

Minneapolis City Council voted unanimously on Friday for the development of a new Traffic Safety Division, which would be separate from the Minneapolis Police Department, FOX9 Minneapolis reported.

The vote comes less than a week after Wright, 20, was fatally shot by Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kim Potter in the Minneapolis suburb.

It’s being reported in the British Medical Journal

    Rapid Response:
    Re: Thrombosis after covid-19 vaccination
    Dear Editor

Many women across the world after receiving CoViD vaccines are complaining of irregularities in their menstrual bleeding; some experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), some bleeding before their periods were due or bleeding frequently (metrorrhagia/polymenorrhea), whereas some are complaining of postmenopausal bleeding.
As of 5th April 2021, there have been ~958 cases of post-vaccination menstrual irregularities, including vaginal haemorrhages, that were recorded in MHRA’s adverse event reports. There were twice more cases of menstrual irregularities with CoViD Vaccine AstraZeneca than Pfizer (643 vs 315 respectively) [1]. It is anticipated that the actual numbers of cases are much higher than the numbers recorded in the pharmacovigilance systems as many women in different cultural context may have felt uncomfortable to talk about it, may not have thought that it was vaccine-related, or may have not been encouraged by their clinicians to make an official report into the adverse events reporting system.
