Justice department files complaint against unproven Covid treatment promoted by Steve Bannon
Oliver O’Connell
Mon, April 19, 2021, 5:19 PM·3 min read
The Department of Justice has filed a civil complaint against the makers of an alleged treatment for Covid-19 promoted by Steve Bannon on his website.
Donald Trump’s former adviser appears in ads on his website for “The War Room Defense Pack”, which pairs vitamin D3 and zinc pills under the slogans: “You can’t fight if you’re sick!” and “The ultimate defense against sickness.”
Manufactured by Wellness Warrior, the tablets come with a free copy of War Room’s Defense Guide, emblazoned with a photo of Mr Bannon, and his War Room: Pandemic podcast logo featuring the biohazard symbol, and the Chinese flag.
Named as defendants in the justice department’s case are Eric Anthony Nepute and Quickwork LLC, doing business as Wellness Warrior. Mr Bannon is not named in the suit.

This is a bullshit lawsuit, these ads never mention COVID.

One wonders why the government doesn’t talk about being fit and being immune is more effective than a mask.

I was at the DMV today and watched a drivers test. The testor and the testee were both decked out in full length plastic wrap from neck to shoes. anti covid measure I guess.
If one really believes deeply in the wokeness of slavery having detrimental present day effects? I would think then that just the pronunciation of the word Democrat would cause AOC to fear for her life. For Joy Reid to exclaim about the pro lynching Democrats in the Senate.
The GoP still doesn’t get the word game. And they are far off from being able to respond to it. More likely they feel good by accepting the game.

Verrrry interesting. My new laptop has Alexa enabled as default (even if you think it isn’t). Instead of turning it off, I decided to use it to learn about Alexa.
And what I’ve found is that Alexa doesn’t learn
Q. Who discovered vitamin C?
A. Here’s something I’ve found on the web. [shows entry about value of vitamin C]
Q. Alexa, who won the Nobel prize for discovering vitamin C?
A. That time I got the right answer – Albert St. Gyorgi. The only difference in the questions was the use of the term ‘Nobel prize’. So, did Alexa learn? Let’s ask
Q. Alexa, who discovered vitamin C
A. same as the first time – “Here’s something I’ve found on the web”
This is going to be fun!

Interesting video recovered from a neighbor’s security camera that shows what actually happened in Columbus:
It looks like my initial take on it was correct. The cop drew his sidearm in response to the asshole who was kicking the other woman in the head. It was only after Ma’Kiah crossed in front of him with the knife that he focused on her.

I think he was probably too far away for a good taser shot, anyway. They only work out to about 10 feet. Beyond that and the barbs spread out too much, which means you may only get one to hit the target (which means no juice, obviously).
lobo91 wrote:
Bongino said you have to get the barbs to embed which they don’t always do, especially if it has to go thru clothing. The cop didn’t have a lot of time to think about it.
But I would like to know what happened with the man who kicked that girl in the head and if the girl needed medical attention
Also, today I shopped at a store that mandates masks w/o a mask. Not one person said one word. I’m not sure they even noticed. There was one other person I saw w/o a mask.
I simply forgot it in the car and decided to not go back and get it. All they can do is kick me out.
@ eaglesoars:
He would have had to reholster his sidearm, then draw the taser. By that time, the other girl would have already been stabbed at least once.
It might have been a viable option if he didn’t already have a gun in his hand, but I really can’t see the taser being anyone’s first choice in that situation. If you’re facing someone with a knife, you shoot them.
@ lobo91:
did he even HAVE a taser?

I’m watching a fascinating video right now that was recorded this morning on Larkin Poe’s new LPTV platform. Megan and Rebecca recorded themselves learning a song for one of their frequent cover videos, in this case the Derek & the Dominos classic “Layla” (the original version, not the ’90s acoustic MTV track).
It takes them about 20 minutes to get the basics down, and by the end of the 45 minute video, they pretty much have it. All by ear.
This group is relatively new. Husband & wife team from London who don’t let anyone see the other band members.

@ lobo91:
Thank-you for posting that. After seeing the video of the shooting that you posted the other night, I have been pondering how so many officers could have shown up so quickly. The federal government seems to have some real power issues and are treating citizens as disposable items.
@ lobo91:
not to mention it’s not farmers we’re worried about. Maybe we should pay the cartels to redirect the migrants back to Brazil or something.
And no, when you see that somebody is getting $225/mo to take care of a tree, start looking for the money laundering.
@ eaglesoars:
Yeah, I’m sure we aren’t sending monthly checks to 450,000 Mexican “farmers.” It’s some sort of grant program where someone in Mexico is supposed to disburse the funds.
Probably a lot like the imaginary Afghan and Iraqi soldiers we were paying for years.

Sounds like incompetent malice. Good video. It costs but I think local police officers should always travel and work as pairs. I’ve never seen the feds be efficient at the local level in any situation. Their manuals are too thick.
@ darkwords:
It’s not practical, especially for state police in a state like this one. They’re often spread out to the point where one officer might be the only one working in an entire county as it is (and our counties are huge).

BREAKING Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury recuses himself from legal challenge to Senate Republicans’ election audit, less than 24 hours before scheduled 11 a.m. hearing Monday. More TK.
https://twitter.com/brahmresnik/status/1386484508468207617
The Dems who are fighting the audit forced the recusal by putting an attorney on staff that Coury has a prior working relationship with. That is an automatic recusal. Coury had previously refused to halt the audit unless the Dems put up a $1 mil bond (not sure what the reasoning was), which they can’t afford. So they came up with a scheme to get rid of the judge.
I’m pretty sure this is Mark Elias/Perkins Coie, too.

This is a really interesting NYT piece quoting Iranian sources. And it’s not behind a paywall. That John Kerry tells them Israel attacked over 200 times is a relatively minor detail (and I don’t believe for a minute it came as a surprise to Zarif). The judge who is overseeing a legal challenge to the Arizona Senate’s audit of votes cast in the state’s largest election during the 2020 presidential election has recused himself from the case less than 24 hours before a scheduled Monday morning hearing.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury recused himself from the legal challenge on Sunday afternoon after learning that attorney Chris Viskovic, with whom he’d had a prior working relationship, had joined the case, 12 News first reported.
According to a copy of the recusal obtained by the news outlet, the court received filings at 4 p.m. that included names of new attorneys, including Viskovic, who worked at the office of Coury “as an extern within the past five years.”
Viskovic now holds a position as a junior associate at Kolodin Law Group PLLC, which is representing the Florida-based cybersecurity firm Cyber Ninjas in court. Cyber Ninjas is one of four firms hired by the state Senate to conduct the audit.
The recusal notes that in accordance with the state’s code of judicial conduct and rules of the Arizona Supreme Court, Coury must recuse himself from any further involvement in the case. The case will be reassigned to a new judicial officer, it says.
It isn’t yet clear who will replace Coury, a Republican, in the case.
The Arizona Senate liaison for the audit said in a statement on Sunday: “We look forward to the assignment of a new Judge and a rescheduled hearing as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the audit continues.”
The audit taking place in the state’s largest county started on April 19. Companies hired by the state Senate are examining 2.1 million ballots, testing voting machines, looking for IT breaches, and performing a hand count.
The state-issued subpoenas that were needed to execute the audit were ruled as valid on Feb. 25.
Arizona Democrats filed an emergency request to block the audit on April 22. Coury granted the request the following day but only if the party would post a $1 million bond. Democrats refused, so the audit was not paused.
During a hearing earlier in the day, Coury did say that he would temporarily pause the audit until at least Monday so he could hear more about concerns Democrats laid out in a lawsuit.
Coury is not popular among Democrats, who campaigned to oust him last year from another four-year term on the bench over his ruling on an education ballot proposition called Invest in Ed.
The Maricopa County Democratic Party in October last year campaigned to oust Coury, creating a website that called him an “activist judge” after he ruled that the summary for the proposed tax hike for education was misleading.
The other firms hired by the Republican-majority state Senate to conduct the audit include Wake Technology Services, CyFIR, and Digital Discovery.
A report is expected to be released on the audit’s findings in about two months.
