Friday Morning Goal-Driven Open

by coldwarrior ( 180 Comments › )

I need to hit some balls, smoke a nice cigar, and enjoy a decent scotch at the CC. One should keep one’s smaller, daily goals somewhat attainable, after all.

    @ eaglesoars:

to continue…this might make two tiers of doctors, the woke incompetent who skated through residency can treat their pet minorities

    and

those who are actual doctors who can treat the rest of us.

    the left drives another wedge.

Continuing from downstairs. First Aussie: Is there a source I can read that will give background on the Masons and the Catholic Church?

darkwords: Joe Rogan podcast 1574 covers all things UFO with the leading experts. They had a lot of comprehensive knowledge. I favor the interdimensional theory.

THANKS! Joe Rogan is a name I know but I’ve never listened to him, I’ll look for it.

IMO the Church should go back to Latin masses.

My understanding is that the idea was that if you grew up w/the Latin services you could go anywhere in the world and be ‘at home in your church’. Then it was decided that to be REALLY accessible it would be in the ‘native’ language.

None of my business. BUT I’ve got some stuff that digs deep into the original ancient Greek and THAT’S fascinating. E.G. ‘virgin’ (as applied to Mary, mother of Jesus) does not mean a female who has never had sex, altho that could be part of it. The primary meaning was that she came from a respectable family (one of Robert Alter’s books)

Mike Lindell is the one who says Trump will be back in office by August. Mike has lawsuits pending regarding the election. Bannon humors him on this I think.

I don’t think Bannon is humoring him and I think Lindell is nuts. Good guy and I think he’s got some evidence that’s solid but he’s not getting anywhere near SCOTUS.

Tim Pool points out that Davos groupies say we will own nothing by 2030 and be happy with it. He talked to farmers in his area and they say the Feds have restricted their beef production

let me check on that, I don’t believe that’s the case

darkwords: I keep thinking about that woman attacking a bear post he posted. That is where my head is at.

Who is she? Would I do that? How the hell do bears walk on a fence into a residential neighborhood. Some people are extreme dog fans.

It wasn’t a ‘fence’ it was a cement block wall. And it’s not that people are dog fans, our dogs are loved more than a lot of blood family. I would lay down my life for my girls, I’ve assaulted neighbors who let their children harass my dog, and I’ve kicked the crap out of a dog that went after Mia when she was a pup. Going after my dogs is a death wish writ large. I will accommodate you.

    There’s an interview there:

I would feel more comfortable hanging out with Ann Coulter than a lot of liberals because she’s unlikely to do anything. She’s in contact with her anger and her hatred, and I think that needs to be worked through, don’t get me wrong, for the country to heal, but she’s actually in contact with those feelings that a lot of people can’t say out loud and that’s a safer space. Now do I agree with her? No. But liberals have no access to that at all. The thought is forbidden.

I would think it would be a small rule that regulated the growing and selling of beef. Packing plants have always had restrictions. Most of the small mom and pop slaughter houses were put out of business with health regulations.

Maybe not a thing though. Often Tim Pool gets on a high horse without a saddle.

She escaped from North Korea, to China, to Mongolia, to South Korea, then to the US. A harrowing story. She graduated from Columbia and told Jordan the experience was as difficult as being in North Korea. Worse maybe because now she knows freedom.

mary does not have to be a virgin, in fact, it would be completely ridiculous if she were.

Mark Levin just played an audio clip of a woman destroying members of a school boardPosted on 6/4/21 at 5:31 pm
    270
Her name was Tatiana Elbrahim (name spelling is probably wrong) this woman would not be silenced as she proceeded to brutally smack these leftist school board Marxists down.

Tatiana advised the school board that the curriculum currently being implemented, that’s teaching the children to despise the police and hate the country is over in her school district.

In no uncertain terms she advised these POS board members that she’s retired and she has nothing better to do than make their lives hell and expose all their anti America curriculum. Hopefully there is a link out there for this exchange of a determined patriot trying to do what she can do at the grassroot/local level to reverse the tide of anti Americanism.

E.G. ‘virgin’ (as applied to Mary, mother of Jesus) does not mean a female who has never had sex, altho that could be part of it. The primary meaning was that she came from a respectable family (one of Robert Alter’s books)

This is from some attempting to deny the deity of Christ. They are in error because they are using a later translation of the original language that was not in common usage at the time of the original writing. There have been significant works from theologians regarding this.

This, the virgin birth, is core to the Christian faith. This denies what the Bible teaches about Christ and also denies what the three Christian Creeds confess (Apostles’, Nicene, and Athenasian) which are succinct summaries of what the Bible says about Christ

They still have the original water-powered powder mills – they all have blast barriers and face the river in case of a splodey. It was built around 1802, post-Revolutionary War.

The tent was partly collapsed and largely buried in snow. After digging it out, the search party saw that the tent appeared to have been deliberately slashed in several places. Yet, inside, everything was neat and orderly. The skiers’ boots, axes, and other equipment were arranged on either side of the door. Food was laid out as if about to be eaten; there was a stack of wood for a heating stove, and clothes, cameras, and journals.

The next morning, searchers found the bodies of the mandolin player Krivonishchenko and the student Doroshenko under a tall cedar tree at the edge of the forest. They were lying next to a dead fire, wearing only underwear. Twelve to fifteen feet up the tree were some recently broken branches, and on the trunk bits of skin and torn clothes were found. Later that day, a search party discovered the bodies of Dyatlov and Kolmogorova. Both were farther up the slope, facing in the direction of the tent, their fists tightly clenched. They seemed to have been trying to get back there.

The four bodies were autopsied, while the search for the others continued. The medical examiner noted a number of bizarre features. Krivonishchenko had blackened fingers and third-degree burns on a shin and a foot. Inside his mouth was a chunk of flesh that he had bitten off his right hand. Doroshenko’s body had burned hair on one side of the head and a charred sock. All the bodies were covered with bruises, abrasions, scratches, and cuts, as was a fifth body, that of the recent graduate Slobodin, which was discovered a few days later. Like Dyatlov and Kolmogorova, Slobodin was on the slope leading back to the tent, with a sock on one foot and a felt bootie on the other; his autopsy noted a minor fracture to his skull.

This led to a key discovery: a seamstress who came to the station to do a uniform fitting happened to notice that the slashes in the tent had been made from the inside.

Something had happened that induced the skiers to cut their way out of the tent and flee into the night, into a howling blizzard, in twenty-below-zero temperatures, in bare feet or socks. They were not novices to the winter mountains; they would have been acutely aware of the fatal consequences of leaving the tent half dressed in those conditions. This is the central, and apparently inexplicable, mystery of the incident.

Four bodies remained missing. In early May, when the snow began to melt, a Mansi hunter and his dog came across the remains of a makeshift snow den in the woods two hundred and fifty feet from the cedar tree: a floor of branches laid in a deep hole in the snow. Pieces of tattered clothing were found strewn about: black cotton sweatpants with the right leg cut off, the left half of a woman’s sweater. Another search team arrived and, using avalanche probes around the den, they brought up a piece of flesh. Excavation uncovered the four remaining victims, lying together in a rocky streambed under at least ten feet of snow. The autopsies revealed catastrophic injuries to three of them. Thibault-Brignoles’s skull was fractured so severely that pieces of bone had been driven into the brain. Zolotaryov and Dubinina had crushed chests with multiple broken ribs, and the autopsy report noted a massive hemorrhage in the right ventricle of Dubinina’s heart. The medical examiner said the damage was similar to what is typically seen as the “result of an impact of an automobile moving at high speed.” Yet none of the bodies had external penetrating wounds, though Zolotaryov’s was missing its eyes, and Dubinina’s was missing its eyes, tongue, and part of the upper lip.

A careful inventory of clothing recovered from the bodies revealed that some of these victims were wearing clothes taken or cut off the bodies of others, and a laboratory found that several items emitted unnaturally high levels of radiation. A radiological expert testified that, because the bodies had been exposed to running water for months, these levels of radiation must originally have been “many times greater.”

That’s the mystery. Here’s the solution.

Two photographs taken by the Dyatlov party at around 5 p.m., while they pitched the tent, show that they cut deeply into the snowpack at right angles to the slope, forming a hollow. They had picked a spot where the mountain peak offered some shelter from the strongest winds. Later in the evening, Kuryakov said, a snow slab detached from the slope above and buried most of the tent, pinning down the occupants and possibly causing injuries. Fearing that a full-scale avalanche was imminent, the skiers cut their way out of the downslope side of the tent and fled to a rock ridge a hundred and fifty feet away, which Kuryakov termed a “natural avalanche limiter.” But the big avalanche didn’t come, and, in pitch darkness, they were unable to find their way back to the tent and took shelter in the woods, a mile away.
    .
    .
Analyzing 1959 photographs, many Dyatlov researchers had calculated that the tent was pitched on a slope of some fifteen degrees, which is not steep enough to sustain the movement of snow in cold conditions. The new position of the tent as determined by Kuryakov’s topographical experts was therefore crucial, because the gradient here was between twenty-three and twenty-six degrees, enough for avalanche formation. A paper corroborating much of Kuryakov’s explanation was published in January by two Swiss engineers in the journal Communications Earth & Environment. Creating a mathematical model of the snow structure that night, the researchers showed why the slab didn’t release immediately when the group cut into it, but only hours later: additional loading of snow during the storm was responsible.
    .
    .
The nine skiers retreated downhill, taking shelter under the cedar tree and building a fire. Because the young trees nearby were icy and wet, someone climbed the cedar to break branches higher up—hence the skin and scraps of clothing found on the trunk. The fire they built, in these extreme conditions, was not enough to save them, however. The two most poorly dressed of the group died first. The burned skin on their bodies came from their desperate efforts to seek warmth from the fire. This would suggest that the piece of flesh Krivonishchenko bit from his finger was probably a result of the delirium that overtakes someone who’s dying of hypothermia, or perhaps from an attempt to test for sensation in a frostbitten hand.

The surviving skiers cut the clothes off their dead comrades and
dressed themselves in the remnants. At some point, the group split up. Three skiers, including Dyatlov, tried to return to the tent and soon froze to death as they struggled uphill. The other four, who were better dressed, decided to build a snow den to shelter in overnight. They needed deep snow, which they found in a ravine a couple of hundred feet away. Unfortunately, the spot they picked lay above a stream, a tributary of the Lozva River. The stream, which never freezes, had hollowed out a deep icy tunnel, and the group’s digging caused its roof to collapse, throwing them onto the rocky streambed and burying them in ten to fifteen feet of snow. The pressure of tons of snow forcing them against the rocks caused the traumatic injuries found in this group. The gruesome facial damage—the missing tongue, eyes, and lip—probably resulted from scavenging by small animals and from decomposition.

The work of Patton’s 3rd Army and the disinformation campaign was brilliant. “Operation Fortitude South” had the German commanders playing war games in Berlin in preparation for a massive Allied offensive at Pas de Calais, and so they were far from Normandy at the time of the invasion. British history notes, it was “the most complex and successful deception operation in the entire history of the war.”
IIRC, Patton had inflatable tanks and faux aircraft.

Yeah. I have Dad’s mission book around here somewhere. Almost 75% of his missions were Pas de Calais (otherwise the Netherlands, Belgium, etc.) Until D-Day itself and then he pulled Utah Beach. The U.S. Army Air Corp was essentially bait used to wipe out the Luftwaffe. By the time June 6 rolled around I think 2 Luftwaffe planes showed up and I don’t remember if they made if back to wherever they came from.

That seems to be a theme. Megyn Kelly interviewed Dennis Prager and he is writing a 5 volume series on the Bible. He states that all the fundamentals of wisdom have been generated from the Bible. And gives examples.

All around honest and self derogating good guy who has done so much good work over the years that it’d take up a whole page.others.

Shelford made his 1989 All Blacks Test debut for the All Blacks later that year against France in a 19–7 victory in Toulouse, and then was a notable victim of the infamous “Battle of Nantes” in the second Test. Roughly 20 minutes into the match, he was caught at the bottom of a rather aggressive ruck, and an errant French boot found its way into Shelford’s groin, somehow ripping his scrotum and leaving one testicle hanging free. He also lost four teeth in the process. Incredibly, after discovering the injury to his scrotum, he calmly asked the physio to stitch up the tear and returned to the field before a blow to his head left him concussed.

Facebook VP says 2-year suspension of Trump from platform ‘justified’

Facebook’s vice president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, said on Sunday that the two-year suspension of former President Trump from its platform was “justified” despite widespread criticisms of the decision.

Who the actual fuck is Nick Clegg?

As Raheem Kassam puts it: former British Deputy Prime Minister who led his party into electoral oblivion and lost multiple public debates to Nigel Farage which eventually led to Brexit

Then there’s Christopher Steele and I’ve forgotten how many Brits involved in that whole mess?

But as I recall, pretty much the entire Brit intel community was involved in blocking/bringing down Trump. I doubt this is the first time they have interfered in our electoral process.

I really cannot think of one vegetable, fruit or animal that we commonly eat which has not been genetically modified or bio engineered.

Wild caught fish may be an exception.

Also domestic cats and dogs as we know them today have been genetically modified.

So this ” Contains no GMO ” label is bullshit.

GMO is selective breeding, modifying genes through natural cross breeding of organisms. Sort of giving Darwin a helping hand. Or used to be.
