Ahhhhh, a nice San Lotano Oval to go with a BRC AK-47 Latte.
A great way to start a much needed vacation.

First, my Dad’s Father’s day golf outing and then to the beach for South Jersey fun and shark fishing.

Just roll them over onto their backs in a hammock sling along side the boat. Shove a O2 rich water stream into their mouths and extract the hook. You can even electronically tag ’em and do something useful. They are like little pussy cats when they are upside down

You think you’ve got pay problems. Kiwi nurses get 30-40% less than Aussie nurses so the few is all one way. Even Brit nurses get more than Kiwis. We just had 5500 nurses march for a serious pay increase and more importantly better conditions. Every station is usually working with one short on every shift and the remainder are showing ‘burn-out’ as they try to cover the shortfall.

This 3D-printed turtle is an example of what’s known as an “adversarial image.” In the AI world, these are pictures engineered to trick machine vision software, incorporating special patterns that make AI systems flip out. Think of them as optical illusions for computers. You can make adversarial glasses that trick facial recognition systems into thinking you’re someone else, or can apply an adversarial pattern to a picture as a layer of near-invisible static. Humans won’t spot the difference, but to an AI it means that panda has suddenly turned into a pickup truck.

What a bad joke, if they really want to celebrate the end of slavery in the U.S. they should be celebrating the passage of the 13th Amendment, either when it was ratified on December 6, 1865 or proclaimed on December 18.The emancipation proclamation (1863) “freed’ slaves only in the Confederate states, areas not under Union control at the time. The Union slave holding states and Union slave holders were not affected, they kept theirs until the 13th went into effect.

It freed no slaves at all because the Confederate states had already seceded from the Union, same as if the U.S. proclaimed freedom for the slaves in China today.

  51. 53 | June 17, 2021 1:16 am

    From the OFFS Department:

    mariebeech
To me, saying “enslaved Africans” rather than “slaves” humanizes people without sugarcoating history.

Saying “enslaved people” is more reverent and it’s also more accurate. For instance, “The enslaved people were finally free” makes more sense than “The slaves were finally free.” As always, be thoughtful about the words you choose. I think this is a good lesson for all of us, adults and children alike.

With #Juneteenth right around the corner, I hope you’re planning on having conversations about Black and African American history

Alaska hiker found alive after being attacked by bears

A missing hiker made it out of the woods and flagged down help after she was attacked by bears in Alaska, authorities said.

Fina Kiefer, 55, had contacted her husband asking for help early Tuesday after multiple bears charged at her on Pioneer Ridge Trail near Palmer, state troopers said.

But after that, she stopped to make calls and texts, leading to a search effort, troopers said.

It wasn’t until Wednesday evening that one of the members of the search crew notified troopers that Kiefer had walked out of the woods and flagged him down for help.

No. Let them have it. The Left eats itself.

when I was reading this today, I recalled the few (4) black people I have known from other countries (Nigeria, Ghana, etc) and what they thought of American blacks. Granted, they were not racial minorities in their own countries. BUT. They were oriented in countries with horrid strife. The smartest – and I mean Einstein level – person I have ever worked with was Victor. Born in Nigeria to Nigerian parents in the diplomatic corps and ended up and educated in Israel where his parents were stationed. He viewed American blacks with utter contempt. “They have to use any excuse to justify their own failures”. Then there was KB. I forget what country she was from but she tried to educate me about elephants. NO THEY ARE NOT LIKE COWS WITH TRUNKS AND THEY DON’T LOVE YOU THEY WILL KILL YOUR BABY. Ok. And I will say it based on my experience. It’s sad, but most of the SJW people and liberals are physically unattractive and I suspect they are making the personal political.

I lucked out on the most important issues. I had fantastic parents, I’m not stupid (most of the time) and I’m no beauty, very ordinary. My sister is beautiful and it is a curse. If you are at either end of the spectrum you are up for a miserable life. But it has not escaped my attention that a lot of the SJW crowd are just down right ugly. Agreed that there are some hacks and frauds in IT. However I do know some real solid gold ‘pinball-wizards’ in IT that are the real thing. One has been involved since the very beginning of modern IT. He was the guy who found a way to download data from the first satellites to Jupiter, he also invented a way to make civilian GPS as accurate as military GPS much to the chagrin of the US military. The other IT person who is the real deal is a lady from the Ozarks with a double doctorate in cryptology and cyber warfare. She has just retired a LTC with the NSA, and is now doing ‘reel sekret’ stuff’. She ‘talks reel slo’ but thunks reel fast’!

Looks like the IRS is at it again:

IRS Denies Tax Exemption to Texas Religious Group Because Prayer, Bible Reading Boost the Republican Party

An IRS official denied tax-exempt status to a Texas group that encourages church members to pray for state and national leaders, regardless of their party affiliation, because it benefits “the private interests of the [Republican] Party.”

“You do not qualify as an organization described in IRS Section 501(c)(3). You engage in prohibited political campaign intervention,” wrote Stephen A. Martin, director of the IRS Office of Exempt Organizations Rulings and Agreements, in a May 18 letter (pdf) to Christians Engaged, the Garland, Texas-based prayer group recognized by Texas officials as tax-exempt.

“You are also not operated exclusively for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3), because you operate for a substantial non-exempt private purpose and for the private interests of the D party.”

The “D party” is a reference to the Republican Party, according to a novel “legend” that Martin provided at the top of his letter to the Texas group.

Martin’s letter was made public on June 16 by the First Liberty Institute, a Plano, Texas-based public interest law firm that specializes in religious freedom litigation.

Martin also noted that the group’s activities “educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God.

“Specifically, you educate Christians on what the Bible says in areas where they can be instrumental, including the areas of sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense, and borders and immigration, U.S. and Israel relations,” he wrote.

“The Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the D party and candidates. This disqualifies you from exemption under IRS Section 501(c)(3).”

This showed up in my inbox from the International Code Council (ICC), regarding the upcoming national energy building code.

As part of the new process outlined within the Code Council’s energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction framework, Leading the Way to Energy Efficiency: A Path Forward on Energy and Sustainability to Confront a Changing Climate, the Code Council Board of Directors has appointed 48 members to its Residential Energy Code Consensus Committee and 45 members to its Commercial Energy Code Consensus Committee, one-third of which are governmental regulators.

Given the urgency in ensuring the committees have enough time to complete its work to publish the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) alongside the other International Codes (I-Codes), IECC committee member terms are effective immediately and will end June 15, 2024.

The committee appointees represent a wide array of experience in building types and energy efficiency strategies, as well as racial, gender and socio-economic diversity, composing balanced committees that represent a multitude of stakeholder interests. Each committee member was chosen based on their qualifications, interest category, past participation in the codes and standards development process, geography and organization size.

This has to do with forcing homebuilders to add costly mandatory features, whether or not the market wants them, for relatively insignificant energy savings, in order to combat AGC that is based upon a lie.
I downloaded a .pdf, haven’t reviewed it yet. Should be fun.

I thought something was wrong as soon as I breasted the bar and asked for three beers. Everyone stopped talking and just looked. It was one of those … ‘woopsy moments’. Told the other guys of our mistake when returning with the beer. They didn’t mind as long as the beer was cold. Eventually the conversation buzzzz returned and we had our beer and left. I ordered a grocery delivery today that included beer for Hubby. By law, the delivery person must see proof of age, so that means driver’s license, which I showed her.

Opened my wallet awhile ago – no license. DAMN. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Called the delivery people, who were very good, etc. So I’ve completed the Virginia DMV license replacement online process, quite thorough, well designed if I do say so. Printed the temp document, the replacement will be here in 5 days. $20.

That’s the tactic – constant belligerant harrassment – I heard them through the walls. The owner was a cocaine addict, there were crack pipes showing up in the parking lot, and they were creeping out an old lady who complained to the property management about them.
They never caused me any trouble. The owner told me that they made their money by buying debt for pennies on the dollar so almost all they collected was pure profit. They were listed on a website as one of the top ten nastiest collectors in the country.

The company who leased the office before them was a travel agency that sold tours to the Holy Land. They were running a scheme that involved buying tickets for one customer with the money they got from the next. The FBI took their servers one weekend.

Another guy moved in, real pale dude who worked nights. He started putting up opaque film over all the windows. I ran into him one day, started talking and he gave me a “tour.” He’d beefed up the a/c, brought in a bunch of computer servers, built a security enclosure inside the front door, and had a full sound/film stage. He told me he was running a live sex video chatroom for European clientele.

Though if you go with the Mountain Monsters guys from TV they think there was an Appalachian Chupacabra (phillipines type) in the early 1900’s that is still running around. Major Scientific Leap: Quantum Microscope Created That Can See the Impossible

In a major scientific leap, University of Queensland researchers have created a quantum microscope that can reveal biological structures that would otherwise be impossible to see.

This paves the way for applications in biotechnology, and could extend far beyond this into areas ranging from navigation to medical imaging.

The microscope is powered by the science of quantum entanglement, an effect Einstein described as “spooky interactions at a distance.”

Professor Warwick Bowen, from UQ’s Quantum Optics Lab and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS), said it was the first entanglement-based sensor with performance beyond the best possible existing technology.

Well, I have to admit I am pretty irritated as well. Blacks make up about 13% of the US population from the demographic data I was able to find. Yet they are the leading character in the majority of advertisements. Makes me feel like the merchants really don’t care whether I buy from them or not, so their advertising, at most is neutral to me and at worst drives me to reject buying their product at all.

Please ignore the commas in that last sentence. Yes, I really know how to use commas and, unlike one of the safety leads where I used to work, don’t use them as decorative elements in sentences.

Gays are less than 2% yet almost every ad and television show must feature at least one character or couple that is part of the Alphabet Mafia.

Yep. … and again, the advertisers show me they don’t care whether I buy from them or not. Seems a heck of a way to spend advertising dollars, deliberately formulating your ads to reach less than 15% of your potential customer base. Well, maybe more, because the soy-boy emotional types are touched by the outreach.

So lets say that for every actual Trans there are 10 social joiners making the apparent numbers appearing out of the woodwork 0.1% of the population which is probably within the statistical error of the actual homosexual population of approx 2%.

So I want to know is, why society is standing on its head and destroying civil society for approx 2% of the population? Surely the 98% still have some say in how society functions?

The same skewed statistics abound in looking at the ‘least fatal pandemic’ to ever to hit mankind . Covid-19.

With a base mean non-fatal score of around 99%, broken down by age groups that range from close to 100% for children and teens to about 99.4% for late teens and early 20s and only getting concerning into the 70+ demographic with 98.2% survival. Problems arise for those with co-obidities and they should be the key groups that need protection. The rest can get the flu, feel either nothing right through to feeling rotten for a few weeks just like all of the other flus and we have the added support of known Theriputics to ease our rotten few weeks where necessary.

The question is why are these highly marginal statistical outliers, offered above being used by the MSM and government as blunt instruments to terrorise a factually ignorant group of citizens?

Might I suggest one needs to look at which groups gain a lot of power and money from a regime of fear and societal destabilisation. Enter the main suspects. The politically Progressive Left and Corporates, be they Big Pharma, Big Media , Big Information Technology Providers and of course Big Government, with its bastard child Big Education. Look at the elites of those Big End of Town types and you will find the causes of most of your angst folks.

Now the real task should you accept the challenge is to devise a means of destroying the power and privilege of those groups. Then we can get back to the serious stuff like protecting the location of our favourite fishing spot from bloody interlopers!

The social joiner thing is real. When I was studying psych in college my profs told me the actual total of all lgbt whatevers by population percentage was closer to .2%. Media hype and “fad” joining was what pushed it up to the 2% that most people accepted.

Grains analyst missing as China shuts down information on failed crop

China’s decisions around its agricultural policy are becoming increasingly murky with news of arrests, secrecy, and claims of cover-ups.

    Key points:
A Chinese grains analyst has reportedly been jailed and another is said to be under house arrest
Australian grains analysts say China is suppressing information about grain shortages to keep world prices down
China is buying up near-record amounts of grain while reporting a bumper crop of its own
Independent analysts who report on China’s grains industry have reportedly been arrested and their online businesses shut down to stop them from telling the truth about the country’s below-average crop.

Chinese officials are cracking down on independent information about grain pricing.

There are reports that analysts working in Beijing for respected grains reporting firm Cofeed have been arrested or are under house arrest.

Another company called JCI, based in Shanghai, also appears to have had an employee arrested.

Neither is getting shot in the chest by 3x 45 calibre bullets whilst being infected with Covid grounds for including one in the Covid death statistics. The truth in the pudding is looking at year on year each by various death events, be they medical , vehicular or getting plugged with three 45s in the chest when analysing Covid deaths. Strip out all of the deaths WITH Covid and NOT BY Covid and the stats look great as staying home meant not dying from …. ‘other causes’. If you look at a year on year total deaths including Covid then there is little to judge between a’Covid year’ and ‘any other year’.
