Let’s Roll.

Those are called Meissner Tetrahedra. Such a tetrahedron has a constant width so it can roll in any direction, yet it’s not a sphere.

In 1949, Man Ray painted a Meissner tetrahedron because he thought it looked like a tit. He titled the painting “Hamlet.”

That’s all. Class dismissed. Carry on.

Just got back from dinner. Mafia Princess treated us at the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to, The New Chinese Palace, out in Oak Ridge. She brought along another couple she’s good friends with and that husband and Bob made plans to do things at the university (he’s a prof there). Also, Mafia Princess made the most GORGEOUS wreath for the front door. It’s magnificent.

    I’m so stuffed I can’t move. I won’t eat for 3 days.

Locked Up: Mercedes-Benz to Charge for Access to EQS’ Rear-Wheel Steering

If you want the more-advanced version of the rear-wheel steering system on the Mercedes-Benz EQS, and you live in Germany, prepare to pony up to unlock the software.

It will cost you about $575 a year to get an over-the-air update that will unlock the 10-degree rear-wheel-steering system. Unless you sign up for a three-year subscription, in which case you’ll pay a bit over $1,300, which is a bit of a discount in terms of per-year rate.

Dangerous New Freedom Variant Causing People To Ignore Government And Live Their Lives

Experts are warning of yet another new problem facing the nation: They’ve spotted a new, more dangerous freedom variant spreading among the populace. This freedom is so virulent that people infected by it feel they can ignore government edicts about masks and lockdowns.

“Usually, the freedom we see in the wild is fairly mild,” explained CDC official Hubert Pratt. “It’s just freedom to passionately express one of the approved viewpoints on social media or freedom to pick one of the three Obamacare options. But now we see people acting like politicians aren’t in charge of them at all, and it’s dangerous.”

With the new freedom variant, there’s been an outbreak of people not wearing masks, teaching their children their own values, and expressing ideas the Biden Administration would rather they not. Moreover, this freedom is highly contagious, even sometimes breaking into blue states once thought to be immune.

Experts recommend only staying on highly moderated social media sites and watching approved network news to avoid being infected. They also tell people to watch out for the signs of this dangerous freedom variant in others: masklessness, smiling, and prominent displays of the American flag.

Critics slammed Fauci’s comments as being about “control,” and “constantly changing.”

“Fauci chirping this weekend the vaccinated may well be back behind masks soon,” tweeted conservative columnist Chris Stigall. “Proving this isn’t about anything other than control. It’s sure as hell not about science.”

Anything that has a very large mouth full of razor sharp teeth and that acts on instinct should be given a wide berth. Unfortunately sharks are mostly invisible so you just don’t know when they are around and as the ‘expert’ said their motivation. Again eating machines like sharks must be assumed to be hungry and that is plenty of motivation to be VERY careful when swimming in ‘sharky’ conditions like at night, in dirty water. at dusk and dawn, and whenever there are fish being caught and fish guts in the water.

In other words assume that sharks are always about and you only swim when conditions are best for you and not for sharks. When you are in the water with a shark, believe me when I tell you that, they ALWAYS look twice as big and 10 times as hungry.

    🙂

But it’s not the sharks you have to worry about. It’s those 1 ton salt water crocodiles that eat sharks!

Our shadow gov’t Facebook is taking orders from the U.N

July 26 (Reuters) – A counterterrorism organization formed by some of the biggest U.S. tech companies including Facebook (FB.O) and Microsoft (MSFT.O) is significantly expanding the types of extremist content shared between firms in a key database, aiming to crack down on material from white supremacists and far-right militias, the group told Reuters.

Until now, the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism’s (GIFCT) database has focused on videos and images from terrorist groups on a United Nations list and so has largely consisted of content from Islamist extremist organizations such as Islamic State, al Qaeda and the Taliban.

Over the next few months, the group will add attacker manifestos — often shared by sympathizers after white supremacist violence — and other publications and links flagged by U.N. initiative Tech Against Terrorism. It will use lists from intelligence-sharing group Five Eyes, adding URLs and PDFs from more groups, including the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters and neo-Nazis.

The man who accosted Tucker Carlson has an interesting background

Now, though, some interesting information is emerging about the leftist yahoo, a guy named Dan Bailey, thanks to his having outed himself on his Instagram account. It turns out that Dan Bailey worked for an organization that was closely associated with the CIA.
    .
    .
The most interesting thing about Bailey, though, is that he’s a Board member of the Taimen Fund (hat tip: Kyle Becker):

In fact, it’s the second iteration of an organization called “Committee for Free Asia” that the CIA founded in 1951. In 1954, the organization got a facelift as the Asia Foundation, but it remained on the CIA payroll until 1969. It still gets most of its funding from the U.S. government, although it’s unclear what, if any role, the CIA plays.

Glenn Greenwald: The Biden Administration Is Launching A “Second War On Terror” Against American Citizens

GLENN GREENWALD: I regard what the Biden administration is currently doing as the Second War on Terror. This one is focused domestically on American citizens instead of foreign organizations. But the tactics being used are very similar to the ones being used in the first War on Terror.

I reported on a dozen cases or so that were very similar where the FBI would boast in this flamboyant way necessity had broken up a dangerous plot being formulated by American Muslims.

And every time you look, every time, it turned out that the people who designed the plot, who came up with the idea of where to attack and funded the operation were FBI informants of FBI agents. They were embedded all the time in the plots.

Not just in a way that they learned about them and infiltrated them, but they actually manufactured and orchestrated them.

If it is really such a great threat, this threat of domestic Muslim terrorism, why does the FBI have to create its own plots? Why aren’t they finding ones that they themselves aren’t orchestrating? That’s the same question I have here.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2021/07/25/glenn_greenwald_the_biden_administration_is_launching_a_second_war_on_terror_against_american_citizens.html?mc_cid=f7fd5d1414&mc_eid=5acb539e63

which begs the question: Is the FBI so busy manufacturing plots, it’s missing the real ones?

From the This Is Fuckin Stupid Department:

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/senate-panel-votes-to-require-women-to-register-for-draft_3915696.html

The SCOTUS refused to consider the constitutionality of the proposal and tossed it back to Congress:

“It remains to be seen, of course, whether Congress will end gender-based registration under the Military Selective Service Act,” wrote Justice Sonia Sotomayor in an opinion, joined by Justices Stephen Breyer and Brett Kavanaugh.

    Some thoughts:

The draft is unneeded as the armed forces are turning away more volunteers than they take in.

Draftees are conscripted against their will by definition, and can create discord within the ranks of volunteers and career-minded enlistees.

If the draft is reinstated and women are conscripted, those women (married and unmarried) who want to avoid the draft have pregnancy as a legitimate exemption, creating a boom of unwanted babies and/or a spike in abortions.

As more PC protocols are instituted in the armed forces, fewer will want to enlist, fewer will want to stay, making reinstatement of conscription a future necessity.

I have been and it affects everyone differently. I was only moderately affected by it (some situations would trigger a panic attack for a few years but it faded) but I had to testify with a woman who was almost suicidal from it. The circumstances of the assault influence the aftermath (mine was rather violent, he knocked me across the room).

For the women on the gym team, as far as I understand, none of them at the time felt they were being forced into anything and it was only years later they came to understand the nature of the abuse. When that happens, there is a lot of guilt and a huge loss of confidence in judgement.

The thing with Simone Biles is very unusual. It is out of character for her. She is an individual that performs at a level so high that controversy has occurred due to her scores being “adjusted” down in order to “close the gap between herself and the people in second place. This happened two years ago and then again this march and may. She’s been basically punished by this “everybody’s a winner” groupthink bullshit, but still continues to perform at a level that is basically unachievable by 99.9% of the world.

What may have happened (and this is just me shooting into the wind here) may have been a brief loss of confidence or a similar breakdown. People have been noticing her performances at the Olympics have been shaky and not as smooth as usual and then she went to perform a manuever that is considered to be one of the most difficult the Yurchenko Double Pike Vault. It’s a move she’s managed in the past but she only managed to pull off half the move this time. It was shortly after that she announced she wouldn’t be continuing.

You know, this would all be of extreme interest and concern if COVID were the second coming of the Black Plague with high mortality rates and high infection rates. It is a disease (bad cold) with 98+% survivability and relatively low infection rates. So this should not be getting the kind of hysterical histrionics that are occurring. Something else is at work here.

Judge Scales Back Climate Scientist’s Case Against Bloggers

A Washington, D.C. judge has ruled that the conservative think tank the Competitive Enterprise Institute cannot be held responsible for an outside blogger’s 2012 online attack on a prominent climate scientist.

At the same time, the judge decided that a jury should decide whether the blogger, Rand Simberg, should be held liable for his post, which excoriated Pennsylvania State University climatologist Michael Mann and suggested that he had engaged in fraud. Mark Steyn, an outside blogger for the National Review, another conservative publication, also should face a trial over his own post, two days after Simberg’s, Superior Court Judge Alfred Irving Jr. ruled.

Steyn had quoted extensively from Simberg’s original broadside, comparing the climate scientist to Jerry Sandusky, the disgraced Penn State assistant football coach in the wake of Sandusky’s conviction for child sexual abuse, writing that Mann “molested and tortured data in the service of politicized science.” After demanding a retraction and an apology that were not forthcoming, Mann sued for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The author is reliable and I know Trevor personally, way back to ‘giving the Soviets a hard time’ Trev was a serious Cold Warrior who penetrated the NZ communist left (The Socialist Unity Party) to such an extent that his files on individual members and the whole party structure was comparable to that of the Security Services. In face his totally criss referenced files were used by the security services when they lost the thread!

Trev is the real McCoy! Since moving to the US he’s been doing the same job against the American Left. A VERY gifted amateur who surprises the ‘professionals’ with his analysis.

All that from a farmer a baker and a totally self educated analyst and gatherer of INTEL. Trev went from baking bread, to being the burr under the saddle of the Left 35 years ago. Now he works as a professional analyst and commentator in the US.

One of the original ‘good guys’.

Very true. Mann is attempting to brake Steyn financially by using institutional money to pay for Mann’s legal bills. Steyn has had to ask for funding on the ‘open market’ and has succeeded so far.

Mann knows that his argument is full of lies and glaring holes in logic that can’t survive a court process except of the ‘Kangaroo court’ variety. Still Steyn has made Mann a laughing stock and stops him spreading more of his lies and BS globally.Mann os older and will die and it’s last man standing so Steyn will succeed in the end and Mann won’t even be a byline in history. As you mentioned the only reason why Mann is still there is that Leftist institutional cash keeps paying his legal bills. Penn State’s Comrades have a LOT to answer for.

The other guy who turned into a great CI asset was named Van der Veer. He was a strange introverted guy who harboured a LOT of secrets. He was a professional driver and got a job hauling fuel for BP I think. The Union fell on his neck for working too hard and showing up all of the other drivers slack and tardy work habits. They sanctioned him and that only made him bitter. When the Union (allied to the Socialist Unity Party – Marxist) rehabilitated him he vowed to himself to GET EVEN. He acted the perfect little communist apparatchik and was sent to Moscow for training on several occasions. All along he was working for the NZ Security Intelligence Service and was one of their stellar sources. What nobody knew was that he was a pedophile and after years working for the NZSIS it all came out. He was charged and whilst awaiting trial he blew his head off with a shotgun.

By that time however the Soviet Union was on it’s last legs so his departure from the scene was not quite such a loss.

No alas the evidence was rock solid and he melted down pre trial and committed suicide.

He certainly got even with the Comrades however and destroyed the careers of many covert Party members in the press and teachers union. For some unknown reason many of the Party members in teaching were also covert pedophiles as well. One was married to the chief Pharmacist of Greenlane cardiac hospital. She not he was the brains of that family. She did at lease 3 possibly 4 covert training courses in Moscow and was high up in the ranks of the Socialist Unity Party. Smart and very dangerous lady. Other than a few times at her house when I was shepherding Soviet visitors about, I tried hard to stay well clear of her.

Hey I just found out that guess who was in NZ three times at least when I was active. PUTIN.

Even got some photographs of him in Wellington during the Court of Enquiry for the loss of the Mikhael Lermontov passenger ship off Wellington. Looking very young and spry. Putin was based in East Germany mostly but also spent quite a bit of time in Singapore. It was during these Singalpoe sojourns that he used to do side trips to Oz and NZ and occasionally Fiji.

I was visiting aboard the Lermontov the day it sailed from Auckland, farewelling some crew members, and a few days later it was at the bottom of Cook Strait. Just a solo casualty. A Russian Second Engineer (I think from memory) failed to make it off and his body was found weeks later. Putin turned up for the inquest. He used to train VERY HARD at a local Judo-kin while he was staying at the Soviet Embassy in Wellington. He was described as very hard and dedicated and had a cold deathly stare, so the owner of the Judo-kin said. I never even knew that he was on my patch!

    Yeah, not liking this

Pathogenic priming likely contributes to serious and critical illness and mortality in COVID-19 via autoimmunity

Homology between human and viral proteins is an established factor in viral- or vaccine-induced autoimmunity. Failure of SARS and MERS vaccines in animal trials involved pathogenesis consistent with an immunological priming that could involve autoimmunity in lung tissues due to previous exposure to the SARS and MERS spike protein. Exposure pathogenesis to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19 likely will lead to similar outcomes. Immunogenic peptides in viruses or bacteria that match human proteins are good candidates for pathogenic priming peptides (similar to the more diffuse idea of “immune enhancement”).

    Interesting stuff! Moar please!

Apparently Putin didn’t associate with most of the large Wellington staff up at Messines Road Embassy in Wellington the Capital. He spent his off duty hours wandering around Wellington ‘sightseeing’ and practicing Judo at a local dojo where the owner reported his training regime as hard and precise to the point of close to world class for his size. It was reported that he moved with the cohort of KGB and MVD types and didn’t mix all that much with with the ‘Internationalists’ or other staff. The driver he used was most likely Boris, a lovely fellow and a former weight lifter with an Olympic Silver and some real driving skills. When the commercial Counsellor Azuruskin travelled North to Auckland it was Boris at the wheel.

Because the Kiwi diplomats in Moscow were restricted in which roads they were allowed to use, the same rules applied to the Russians in NZ. They were restricted to Highway 1 but used to always slide sidewise and end up in Rotorua and the hot springs for a night. As soon as their big black Merc crested the Bombay hills South of Auckland a NZSIS car would pick them up and follow them into Auckland. The NZSIS guy would be driving a Nissen ‘Sunny’ and Boris was in a huge Merc. You could identify the cars because of the diplomatic plates and the Russians drove vehicles in the four thousand series, (DC4000- about DC 4030). Boris used to play with the SIS Sunny for a while and then absolutely ‘floor’ it and leave the Sunny struggling in its wake. It was all ut a game.

Some mates of mine from the ;Soviet International Dept’ allowed me to drive DC4004 to the home of the General Secretary of the NZ-USSR Society, a front organisation. She was a Brit who lived at Puhoi a tiny hamlet north of Auckland. The Merc was really powerful and was immune to speeding fines so I got to floor it most of the way north. Great fun. We had a very good bar-b-que up at Puhoi and even visited the famous Puhoi Pub with all of the bike gangs and associated leather clad types. I knew that the NZSIS wasn’t bothering to watch because I was their eyes.

On another occasion whilst based in Wellington for a 4 day stint at the James Cook hotel, and flying a DC-8-63 freighter out of Wellington with Air NZ, carrying race horses back and from Australian race courses. I used to spend some time with the denizens of the Messines Road Soviet Embassy. One morning at 2AM I was in a DC4*** Embassy car cruising up the Wellington motorway with a moronic goon of a KGB type names Tratchik (His brother was the famous Russian hockey goalie and that was the only reason that his idiot brother was in the KGB). He was a total looser with green and black between his teeth smoked revolting Russian cardboard cigarette and had merman bad breath. He also used to whisper close to my ear and his terminal halitosis would just about melt my ear off. This early morning he decided that we had a ‘tail’. I KNEW that that was BS because I was his ;tail’. He went the wrong way off and on ramp at 100 mph did a U turn and went wrong way on an off ramp . WEW are doing 100MPH + WRONG way on a motorway. Fortunately it was 2AM and the traffic was light. The idiot almost killed both of us. 🙂

Tratchik being KGB didn’t have to live in the Embassy compound and lived up at Upper Hutt north of Wellington. His non-English speaking wife was paranoid and never went out. Their house was so totally bugged that even the toilet was wired. That used to sit on the throne having a shit after he got home reading a magazine and his wife would be pounding on the toilet door demanding that he come out and talk to her.

Even the KGB gets ‘henpecked’ sometimes!

    HEH

    Yup sounds right.

The KGB had two distinct types.

US Capitol Police walk back order to arrest those without a mask

On Wednesday, newly appointed Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger ordered officers to enforce new mask mandates in the House, including denial of entry and even arrest.

“If a visitor or staff member fails to wear a mask after a request is made to do so, the visitor or staff shall be denied entry to the House Office Buildings or House-side of the U.S. Capitol,” Manger said Wednesday. “Any person who fails to either comply or leave the premises after being asked to do so would be subject to an arrest for Unlawful Entry.”

I suspect that they were frightened. If any of their charges wound up defecting, they would likely be held responsible and their families held to account as well. Communism isn’t pretty and it only maintains itself through exercise of sheer brute power. Not everyone in a country has the brains to be a master spy, so some wind up being the enforcers and when you have such a large amount of slaves in the country, there aren’t enough competent enforcers to go around.

Our democracy is under attack. Washington journalists must stop covering it like politics as usual.

As a possible starting point, I’ll offer these recommendations:

Toss out the insidious “inside-politics” frame and replace it with a “pro-democracy” frame.

Stop calling the reporters who cover this stuff “political reporters.” Start calling them “government reporters.”

Stop asking who the winners and losers were in the latest skirmish. Start asking who is serving the democracy and who is undermining it.

Stop being “savvy” and start being patriotic.
    .
    .
“We have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than 40 years, and never have we seen them this dysfunctional,” they wrote.

They probably couldn’t have imagined the chaos that followed November’s election, the horrors of Jan. 6, or what’s happened in the past few weeks.

The change they called for never happened. For the sake of American democracy, it’s now or never.
