…and…the hospital stories of stress, etc…

    LACK OF STAFF.

This was predicted 20 yrs ago and the donut chomping so called nurse leaders did nothing.

There are tons of beds, there aren’t staff to man the beds. RNs can handle stress and tragedy. It goes with the job and are defining moments which mold better RNs.

I took the gig that I have to help out in ERs that are on fire. I am a better mercenary than a permanent staff RN. I see things across my massive health system and these shortages are no different than every where else.

  5. coldwarrior
    5 | August 21, 2021 10:09 am

Mrs coldwarrior works in a competing system and it’s no different.

RN is a very difficult thing to attain. There is generally a 50% washout rate In school. And then you get to be short staffed in perpetuity.

Rewarding? Yes. I have saved lives with my decisions and early observations and actions.

Infuriating? yinz bet! There is nothing like getting shit on by senior management who are not held accountable for turnover.

  6. coldwarrior
    6 | August 21, 2021 10:27 am

Which ever ER i work in the same thing happens. I am usually senior and have had a ton more experience than the RNs I’m working with. I’ve done stroke, neuro-trauma, trauma and medical ICU and now ER. Guidance and knowledge transfer to the younger RNs is most rewarding.

I have been asked to take management positions. Nope, no pay cut for me and I refuse to try to manage my way out of a trap that was set by laziness 20 years ago. I’d get fired. One of the ERs that I work in often has had 5 directors fired in a row whilst senior management sits secure and is not held accountable FOR.ANYTHING. the place ran without a director fr a year because no one in the system wanted the job given the history.

It’s only going to get worse. I’ll take the bonuses and the travel and working understaffed and retire early. thankyouverymuch.

So discriminating in who you sell your product to is okay as long as you are discriminating against the right kind of people. Imagine if a business chose not to sell to a predominantly LGBTQWERTY company or an MWOB because they had hosted a fundraiser for some radical group like the Southern Poverty Law Center? The howls of outrage would be epic.

We are truly living in dangerous and evil times.

Ground Report: Kabul Airport Gates Are Closed, Taliban Confiscating U.S. Passports

“I got to the gates and was about to show my passport, but the Taliban got it, and he said you are not allowed to go through and wouldn’t give it back,” one Afghan American on the ground told the Post. “I was lucky a U.S. marine was right there and forced him to give it back.”

Former Navy SEAL Ephraim Mattos, who works to evacuate people on the ground, also confirmed the reports to the Post.

“U.S. passports, driver’s licenses — they are confiscating those pieces of documentation from American citizens,” said Mattos. “They lose proof of who they are, and this has happened on multiple occasions in multiple places”:

Yesterday I was at my local Foodland buying a large bag of Purina Dog Chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog, and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had….an elephant ?

So because I’m retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn’t have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again.

I added that ‘I probably shouldn’t, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I’d lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is, to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry.

The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and , I was going to try it again.

(I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me.

I told her no, I stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.

Foodland won’t let me shop there anymore.

Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in theworld to think up crazy things to say.

It is unclear when the breach was discovered, but it is believed to have happened a couple weeks ago.

Landed a medium twin well over the maximum cross wind limit on a patch of mud in a hurricane on an island in the middle of nowhere with not enough fuel to get back to dry land. Who I might add also survived an ice ingestion engine failure the day before trying to reach Norfolk Island in the same storm.

‘Disaster on Every Level’ As Biden Closes Kabul Airport and Orders Commercial Airlines to Aid the Evacuation

The Biden administration was forced to close the Kabul airport as the chaotic, catastrophically planned evacuation of American citizens from Afghanistan is overwhelming state department employees with too much paperwork.

There are thousands of people — mostly Afghan civilians who collaborated with the U.S. military — waiting at the airport to be rescued. According to the British military, seven Afghans have died at the airport from the heat and the crush of people.

Can it get any worse? Why yes. Yes, it can.

New info on the ground in Kabul: Taliban militants are now starting to charge people for “escorts,” for safe passage to the airport. The price is said to range from $1,000 to $3,000, per person.

    https://twitter.com/SashaIngber/status/1429247209200041991

Do you want “worse”? How about the Pentagon not knowing what the State Department is doing?

CLUELESS: Pentagon “Not Aware” the US Embassy Told Americans Not to Go to Kabul Airport

    https://rumble.com/vli2cp-clueless-pentagon-not-aware-the-us-embassy-told-americans-not-to-go-to-kabu.html?mref=23gga&mc=8uxj1

The threat from ISIS is being taken very seriously. Islamic State would like nothing better than to embarrass their mortal enemies, the Taliban by sending a suicide bomber into the densely packed crowds at the airport.
    .
    .
But it appears that the president shut the airport in order to allow the bureaucrats to catch up with the paperwork.
    .
    .
The Department of Defense will compel commercial airlines to help with the evacuation of Afghans and U.S. personnel from Afghanistan, the third time that the U.S. has activated what is known as the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF).

Eighteen aircraft will be used, including 3 from American Airlines, 3 from Delta Air Lines, 3 from Atlas Air, 3 from Omni Air, 2 from Hawaiian Airlines and 4 from United Airlines. The planes will not be going to Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a statement, but will transport people from “temporary safe havens and interim staging bases.”

In truth, the civilian planes would not be flying to Kabul. They would be picking up evacuees at our bases in Qatar, Bahrain, and Germany and ferry them…somewhere.

At present, 18 aircraft are involved – three each from American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines and Omni Air, as well as two from Hawaiian Airlines and four from United Airlines. A couple of thoughts about Kabul. Because we haven’t seen suicide bombers at the airport or an American hostage crisis, it’s because we are on the Taliban’s timeline. No rush. The humiliation of the United States is proceeding apace.

Do they actually control ISIS elements? Maybe. Maybe not. Wild card.

US forces have taken a hit for staying behind walls while the British and French go into the city to bring their people out.

The British and French go in at the pleasure of the Taliban, who I suspect are not that interested in them at this time. Except to the extent they may serve as bait to draw in US forces.

If US forces did go into Kabul at anything less than brigade strength, it could be Mogadishu. Even at brigade strength, the Taliban will be calling the shots. Shutting off streets. Making use of American hostages and human shields.

This doesn’t excuse the Americans. Just underscores how grievously the high command and the commander in chief bollixed this. They created this vulnerability by granting the upper hand quite predictably to the Taliban.

In any case, this thing is only just beginning, and could become a lot uglier.

I think you popped the line, “Party like it’s 1842.”

Yeah. Don’t think the Taliban don’t know their history and that they are not intent on securing an even better place in it.

I hope I’m wrong, but I think the cost of blundering by President Biden, Gen. Milley etal has yet to be fully reckoned.

A college spokesperson said the refugees will stay at the campus anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Many refugees are destined for Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, Fort Bliss in Texas and Fort Lee in Virginia.

The current head of the Food and Drug Administration, Janet Woodcock, is serving in an ‘acting’ capacity only, as her name was never nominated to the senate for confirmation. Several media outlets are now reporting her name will never be nominated because she cannot pass the confirmation process.

Ms. Woodcock (pictured left) has a rather controversial past from her career work inside the FDA which included the advanced authorization for many opioids that created a massive health crisis. She was, for all intents and purposes, the key figure inside the FDA who gave the pharmaceutical industry cart blanche authorization to create, market and distribute the pain-killing opioids that led to hundreds-of-thousands of U.S. deaths.

Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia represents one of the constituencies hardest hit by the opioid epidemic. Manchin was not going to support Woodcock’s nomination. In a 50/50 senate, she didn’t stand a chance of confirmation.

It does not seem coincidental that Ms. Woodcock was in position as ‘acting director’ just long enough for the first COVID vaccine to gain FDA approval; and then, presto, the announcement of her dispatch. Suspicious cat remains, well, suspicious.

By law, an acting director can only serve for 210 days normally, or up to 300 days after the start of a new administration. She was appointed on January 20th, which means she has to be replaced by November 16th

I have no idea what to make of this. Multiple sources that I have no way of vetting are saying the Pfizer contracts w/various countries stipulate that unless the med is rolled out exactly as specified and in order to compenstate of lawsuits arising from injury, Pfizer can seize sovereign assets, including military bases.

Here’s the first link I stumbled across. It has lots of other links embedded. It looks like Brazil and Argentina told Pfizer to piss up a rope for just that reason, and the first reports came out months ago.

I THINK INSTAPUNDITEERS WILL LOVE THIS GUY: Not just because Doug Wilson is a philosopher of a reformed/evangelical bent who did a widely lauded televised debate series on the existence of God with Christopher Hitchens. But because he recaptures something of the rebellious spirit of the Reformation and the American Revolution.

As a result, Wilson ably makes the case for defying Covid authoritarianism by using fake vaccine passports, in the event our betters make them mandatory for interstate travel across these once-free United States. There was, after all, solid grounds for King George III’s description of the American Revolution as a “Presbyterian war.”

I’m not entirely on board with Wilson, not on principle but on tactical considerations. And I am not an anti-vaxxer. As it happens, I will get my second Moderna shot in three days. But Wilson makes an articulate, historically and spiritually well-grounded case that is worth pondering by anybody who values their liberty.

“A living hell”: Leaked email describes Afghan refugee conditions

Shortly before 8 a.m. last Friday, an official at U.S. Central Command sent a searing wake-up call to colleagues: The sweltering Qatar air base where the Biden administration is housing thousands of Afghan evacuees was awash with loose feces and urine and a rat infestation, according to internal emails shared with Axios.
    .
    .
The email by supervisory special agent Colin Sullivan — with subject line “Dire conditions at Doha” — went to officials at the State Department and the Pentagon. It described “a life-threatening humanitarian disaster … that I want to make sure all of you are fully tracking.”

“While not in any way downplaying the conditions in Kabul nor the conditions the Afghanis [sic] are escaping from, the current conditions in Doha are of our own doing.”

    @ Bunk X:
Maybe an equity loan and exchange the money for your part of the title in escrow. Would take a real estate lawyer I think. Find a good lending institution.

The equity loan would be enough to cover the value of your property interest and legal fees. It becomes second position to the primary loan.

The primary lender might consolidate it for you using their own legal and mortgage broker staff. I’d look there first. BIL has to want to do it. Probably depends on how much equity is in the property. If not much then it would be hard to accomplish. If the BIL is making payments on the 75 percent he has a refi probably doesn’t add that much to the payment for him. The refi loan then you would want to include closing costs and legal fees.

In my difficult financing period I had to find a sketchy mortgage broker unattached to banks. He was able to legally hide my credit weaknesses. But in return for $5,000 and a loan 2 percent higher than the market rate. But don’t shoot for that. See the primary lender and ask them for help. And take their feedback smooth out any rough spots and ask them again.

The property becomes 100 percent your brother in laws and the bank gets a clean lien on the whole property. Simplifies things for everyone.

    Cooking tip.

If you are making a stew or an AWESOME shrimp, crab, onion, peppers and mushroom curry and it is a bit too liquid, runny, soupy.

Don’t add flour as a thickening agent. The flour will take time to cook. Yes it will thicken your supper but by the time the flour has cooked and thickened your creation everything else is way overcooked and not nice.

Use packet instant mash to do the job instead!

Takes seconds and no floury aftertaste.

It’s also fun to play with. When the kids were little I’d mix some up to the consistancy of a milkshake in a tupperware bowl. I’d stick a wood pencil in it, yank it up and swing the bowl in the air, put it down and remove the pencil. Some people call the mixture “Oobli.”

I wish I’d known about it when I was a kid so I could see what happened when I smacked a (white) balloonful with a baseball bat at my buddies in the cul-de-sac outfield.

Meghan McCain hits out as Kamala Harris visits father’s memorial in Hanoi: ‘Honour my dad by helping Afghans’

Meghan McCain took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday after the latter lay flowers for her late father, Senator John McCain, at a memorial for him in Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the location where he was shot down during the Vietnam War.

The conservative talk show host, who left The View earlier this year, told Ms Harris in a tweet on Thursday that the way to honour her father’s passing would be to ensure that “every single” American and Afghan who aided US forces during the nearly 20-year occupation were safe from the Taliban.

“If you want to honor my dads legacy on this anniversary of his death – you would spend every second making sure every single American and Afghan ally is out of harms way,” tweeted Ms McCain.

    As I have been saying……….

It would be easy to attribute the disaster of leaving Afghanistan, both human and strategic, to the incompetence of President Biden and his administration. After all, human incompetence normally explains a lot. But the affairs of a great nation like ours and its military are not the work of one man. There are generals, well-credentialed foreign policy experts, and senior intelligence officials who have devised how best to leave Afghanistan in order to achieve certain strategic and political objectives. The notion that there was a single incompetent decision made to abandon Afghanistan defies both logic and common sense. It was a matter of high government policy that the United States depart Afghanistan, abandon military equipment, and leave both Americans and our allies to the tender mercies of the radical Islamic Taliban.

The exit from Afghanistan, then, appears designed to accomplish two things: first, to demoralize the American military and the American people.

The second purpose of the Afghan debacle was to signal to the world that the United States has no interest in defending a liberal world order and that from here on out we will not defend either human freedom or our own self-interest,

Biden To Make Sure No Americans Are Stranded In Afghanistan By Stripping Citizenship Of Everyone Stranded There

In a press conference today, Biden assured the world that he would get every American out of Afghanistan. When asked how he would do this, he explained that on the pull-out date of August 31st he will simply revoke the American citizenship of every American who hasn’t shown up at the Kabul airport yet.

“Voila! An elegant solution! Knock on wood, no malarkey!” he said to a stunned press. “If you haven’t fought through 12 checkpoints of terrorist thugs and shown up at the airport by the deadline, I guess you don’t want to be an American! Boom! No American left behind! Real simple, Jack!”

Biden then began hitting on a female reporter in the front row before forgetting where he was and walking aimlessly into the crowd.

“Hooray! A truly elegant solution!” the corporate press all said uneasily as Biden was ushered off stage by a team of handlers.

The Taliban issued a statement in response, saying “LOL.”

There’s another prong to this attack going on in the business world. Corporations are starting to cancel contracts with the military under pressure from “woke” boardmembers and employee organizations. This is a concentrated effort to break the military.

Several software companies are looking at stopping their military contracts due to pressure from the woke. Unity is the most recent one I heard about. I believe their software is used in a lot of their simulation training programs.

Japan Suspends 1.6 Million Doses of Moderna Vaccine After Reports of Contamination

No reported safety incidents so far

Japan announced on Aug. 26 that it’s suspending the use of about 1.63 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine due to reports of contamination.

The country’s health ministry said “foreign materials” were found in at least 390 doses—or 39 vials—of the Moderna vaccine coming from eight vaccination sites, according to The Asahi Shimbun.

Takeda Pharmaceutical, a Japanese drugmaker distributing the Moderna vaccines in Japan, had received reports of contamination from multiple vaccination sites. The health ministry subsequently learned of the matter on Aug. 25, the outlet reported.

“It’s a substance that reacts to magnets … it could be metal,” a ministry official reportedly said, according to Nikkei Asia.

The reports of contamination involve a batch that has a total of 565,400 doses. The ministry said it decided to suspend the lot as a precaution after it had consulted with Takeda. It also suspended another two batches.

The three batches altogether contain 1.63 million vaccine doses, which have been distributed to 863 vaccination centers across the country. The ministry will request that the centers not use them.

Officials said that an unknown number of doses from the affected lot have been administered, but there have been no reported adverse effects thus far.

Takeda said in a statement that it had asked Moderna to investigate the safety of the vaccine as a matter of emergency. It also shared the batch numbers, which are 3004667, 3004734, and 3004956.

“Moderna confirms having been notified of cases of particulate matter being seen in drug product vials of its COVID-19 vaccine,” Moderna said in a statement. “The company is investigating the reports and remains committed to working expeditiously with its partner, Takeda, and regulators to address this.”

The health ministry said that all of the vaccines currently being rolled out in Japan are manufactured by a company based in Spain.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the issue affected supplies of the Moderna vaccine to other countries.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said that the Japanese government is discussing ways to minimize the effect on the country’s vaccination rollout with Takeda.

“We will do [our] utmost in order to avoid any impact on vaccination progress, especially at worksites and large-scale centers,” Kato said.

About 43 percent of the population in Japan has been fully vaccinated; about 50 percent have received at least one dose.

I would have just leased Bagram for 200 years. The shadow of power from the AFB would have stalemated the Taliban. With little to no loss of life. The only real issue would have been Afghan corruption. I’d build the largest Mosque in the world on the AFB. And the largest Pashtun Islamic University.

Sergeant Major of the Army prioritizes ‘diversity’ amid Afghanistan evacuation

Amid ongoing evacuation efforts in Afghanistan, and shortly before an explosion left 13 U.S. service members dead and several wounded, Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston highlighted diversity within the U.S. Army for Women’s Equality Day.

“Diversity is a number – do you have people that don’t look or think like you in the room? Inclusion is listening and valuing those people,” Grinston wrote in a tweet.

“[Women’s Equality Day] reminds us we’re smarter and more lethal when we come together as an inclusive, cohesive team,” Grinston added. “Our values demand it.”

Grinston, according to his biography on the U.S. Army’s website, serves as the Army chief of staff’s “personal adviser on matters affecting the enlisted force,” devoting “the majority of his time traveling throughout the Army to observe training and interact with Soldiers and their Families.”

The official Twitter account for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command echoed Grinston’s remarks, writing, “Inclusion & Diversity is what makes our [U.S. Army] better.”

Grinston’s tweet was met with immense criticism from several social media users who questioned his priorities as the Afghanistan evacuation crisis continues.

“This is what matters: 11 Marines and one Navy Corpsman killed. Americans,” Jessie Jane Duff, a U.S. Marine veteran, wrote in a tweet. “I’m positive they didn’t look or think like you, Sergeant Major. Every [flag-draped] coffin looks the same. We have an [Afghanistan crisis] and this is your tweet. Shameful.”

US special operations vets carry out daring mission to save Afghan allies

With the Taliban growing more violent and adding checkpoints near Kabul’s airport, an all-volunteer group of American veterans of the Afghan war launched a final daring mission on Wednesday night dubbed the “Pineapple Express” to shepherd hundreds of at-risk Afghan elite forces and their families to safety, members of the group told ABC News.

Moving after nightfall in near-pitch black darkness and extremely dangerous conditions, the group said it worked unofficially in tandem with the United States military and U.S. embassy to move people, sometimes one person at a time, or in pairs, but rarely more than a small bunch, inside the wire of the U.S. military-controlled side of Hamid Karzai International Airport.

The Pineapple Express’ mission was underway Thursday when the attack occurred in Kabul.

This whole fiasco of getting the 100 to 200 cats and dogs out of Kabul is pathetic.

First it was there were no available air slots for the private charter plane to get into Kabul.

Then there was the ” you have to get to the airport yourself ” which they can do and did.

Then it was the ” VISAS are no longer valid for the 68 staff and dependents ” They had British issued paperwork which is no longer acceptable to the US which controls the airport.

Which brings me to another point if the US is in control of who flies out and who does not why the fuck are there nearly 1000 British troops at Kabul airport.

All the time there was the outrage on social media ” People before animals!!!! ” When the fact was animals go in the cargo hold. And yes I have seen many instances of comments saying the Afghans should go in the cargo hold instead of animals.

The Plane to take the staff and dependents, all 68, is capable of carrying 250. The spare seats will be available to take other refugees out.

Germany is done and gone, so is Canada. I saw two Spanish air force planes leaving yesterday.

The UK has got all their subjects out now, except for the animal shelter guy. I expect the UK military to depart soon.

I may have posted this before but just in case

The Biden administration has nowhere to hide at this moment, and the Afghan Disaster is revealing a major, important schism in the Regime. It seems clear now—or at least highly plausible—that the retreat was intentionally botched. After a 20-year occupation, is it seriously to be believed that no one ever gamed out an efficient departure? Leaving the aid workers and Blackhawks behind—that was the plan? Dunkirk and Napoleon’s flight from Russia were models of logistical precision compared to this. The military-industrial complex (MIC)—consisting of top-ranking generals, defense contractors, the foreign policy establishment, the “intelligence community,” etc.—opposed the withdrawal.
    .
    .
When Biden, possibly because he felt he owed it to the white working class that has borne the brunt of Forever War casualties and which he has exploited as a pretend member for decades, forced the issue, the MIC basically threw a toddler’s tantrum and, essentially, removed its own diaper and spread its contents around the playroom. Fine, the MIC said, you want to break our rice bowl, upend our gravy train? How about we show you what it looks like when we get mad.

The USA did not evacuate 100k. That is the total.

Take yesterday as an example. The White House site tells the true story. Yes the USA are evacuating many, but the rest of the world combined are doing more per day.

Update: From 3 AM ET on 8/25 to 3AM ET on 8/26, a total of approximately 13,400 people were evacuated from Afghanistan. 17 U.S. military flights evacuated approximately 5,100 people and 74 coalition aircraft evacuated approximately 8,300 people from Kabul.

Given the heightened political and social atmosphere surrounding Afghanistan, it is important to remind our uniformed personnel (active duty and reservists on temporary active duty) and military retirees of their responsibilities and obligations under Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and Department of Defense Directive 1344.10. While it is vital to protect the constitutional right of freedom of expression for these groups, consistent with mission accomplishment, national security, and good order and discipline, it’s important to remember certain limitations. Namely, uniformed personnel and military retirees are prohibited from disrespecting senior government leadership (e.g. the President, Vice President, Congress, Secretary of Defense, Service Secretaries, etc.).

    @ eaglesoars:
All they would have to do is reassign all the evictions sheriffs to other duty. Leave just one in service who would get overwhelmed.

Or add steps to the filing paperwork.

Or double the cost of serving notices.

A sheriff has to be physically present on the day of final eviction.

What would be most effective in delays though would be asking the tenant union to counsel the tenant first.

Or require a housing inspection before any eviction then detail a broken light fixture as a barrier to eviction. List the landlord as a slumlord. Wink wink nudge nudge the tenant to break the light fixture a few minutes before inspection.

Or use covid restrictions to extend the 3 day pay or vacate to a 30 day pay or vacate.

It’s not hard to turn a normal 2 month eviction into a 2 year conviction.

Most landlords are going to give up if the cost is bankrupting them. It’s a economic system that was working well until it got blocked. The government wants the landlords to bear the brunt of the pandemic costs. Landlords have to pass that cost onto the tenants. If they can’t then they have to operate at a constant loss. Maintenance has to be put off. The city can then eventually condemn the building and take over ownership.

    Speaking of B-52s…….

No good deed goes unpunished. That is the lesson the “woke” town of Evanston, Illinois has earned with its plan to give reparations to black residents.

In March it passed a reparations plan, believed to be the first town to do so in the nation, but local residents have fought back saying that they are not being given enough in the deal, The Guardian reported.

“There’s still so much misinformation or lack of information that Black residents here in Evanston still don’t understand what this program is. And there are plenty of Black residents that still believe that they’re going to be getting direct cash payments, because that’s how the reparations program was framed when it was first introduced in 2019,” Sebastian Nalls, one of the founders of Evanston Rejects Racist Reparations group and a black resident of Evanston.

The Evanston plan would provide housing grants to qualified Evanston residents using funds from cannabis sales. Since Evanston currently has $400,000 in its Restorative Housing Program fund, if each applicant received the maximum $25,000 grant amount, only 16 families or individuals would be receiving a check in late 2021. For those who do receive the money, $25,000 makes a small dent in the cost of buying a house in Evanston, where the average house sells for about $300,000. Later this summer, applications for the housing grants will open to the city’s Black residents. The city intends to select recipients from the applicant pool through a random lottery.

This isn’t even correct. The UCMJ bars “contemptuous words” against certain officials not “disrespect.” Criticism, even forcefully stated, isn’t unlawful on this standard. Contemptuous words means something more than that- in the nature of personal & offensive condemnation.

Criticism, even forcefully stated, isn’t unlawful on this standard. Contemptuous words means something more than that- in the nature of personal & offensive condemnation.

    Correct:

The official or legislature against whom the words are used must be occupying one of the offices or be one of the legislatures named in Article 88 at the time of the offense. Neither “Congress” nor “legislature” includes its members individually; “Governor” does not include “lieutenant governor”. It is immaterial whether the words used against the official or legislature are used in an official or private capacity. If not personally contemptuous, adverse criticism of one of the officials or legislatures named in the article in the course of a political discussion, even if emphatically expressed, may not be charged as a violation of the article.

Similarly, expressions of opinion made in a purely private conversation should not ordinarily be charged. Giving broad circulation to a written publication containing contemptuous words of the kind made punishable by this article, or the utterance of contemptuous words of this kind in the presence of military subordinates, aggravates the offense. Unlike civilian legislation covering defamation, the truth or falsity of the statements is immaterial.

The CDC relied on §361(a) of the Public Health ServiceAct for authority to promulgate and extend the eviction moratorium. See 58 Stat. 703, as amended, 42 U. S. C. §264(a). That provision states:
“The Surgeon General, with the approval of the [Secretary of Health and Human Services], is authorized to make and enforce such regulations as in his judgment are necessary to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases from foreigncountries into the States or possessions, or from oneState or possession into any other State or possession. For purposes of carrying out and enforcing such regulations, the Surgeon General may provide for such inspection, fumigation, disinfection, sanitation, pest extermination, destruction of animals or articles found to be so infected or contaminated as to be sources of dangerous infection to human beings, and other measures,as in his judgment may be necessary.”

See also 42 CFR §70.2 (2020) (delegating this authority tothe CDC). Originally passed in 1944, this provision hasrarely been invoked—and never before to justify an eviction moratorium. Regulations under this authority have generally been limited to quarantining infected individuals and prohibiting the import or sale of animals known to transmit disease. See, e.g., 40 Fed. Reg. 22543 (1975) (banning small turtles known to be carriers of salmonella).

One issue was always some person wanting to create a huge interconnected database and was lacking a few fields of data. Then they wanted to purchase it from private business. One of these “leaders” wanted to use the data to create a gun registry without asking the taxpayers. He got slapped around by the public when they got wind of it.. There is indeed a rebar/concrete ratio. The concrete takes the vertical load, the rebar is a cage around it to keep it from exploding outward. That steel is set in 1-1/2-inches from the exterior face of the concrete for protection against moisture. The steel should not corrode AT ALL.

Sorry to say, but I hope that’s true. They don’t stay in Macedonia they make it within days or weeks to Austria or Germany or Sweden. We don’t need more Afghans in Austria. Sorry, but not a single one we’ve already enough here. More than enough.

Macedonia doesn’t pay social welfare but Austria, Germany and Sweden do and they know they can’t be send back. At least not at the moment. About every day 100 “refugees” cross illegal our borders and ask for “asylum” and the largest group are Afghans (mostly from Iran). We didn’t have contractors or translators or wahtsoever in Afghanistan. In 2002/2003 we had 50/20 and then 16 soldiers in Afghanistan helping the Germans with logistics, in 2005 we deployed 100 soldiers for 6 months to secure the election in Kunduz and in 2010 only 4 Austrian soldiers were left and also these were reduced to 1 (one) in 2014 who was honored with a bronze star from the US-military in 2015 b’cause he had saved lives after a suicide attack on Camp “Integrity”.

Why was Austrians participations so marginal? B’cause the war in Afghanistan had become a Nato mission and Austria is a neutral state. We are not a member of the Nato. We are not even allowed to be a member of the Nato.
Afghans make “only” 0,5% of the Austrian population but nearly 2% of the prison inmates b’cause of rape, murder, drug dealing. Not counted in there are those who are convicted b’cause of drug dealing, assaults and other “petty” crimes but on probation. About 10% of the Afghan population in Austria are convicted, on probation or waitung for the trial or under suspision.

You may say, yes but those who are rescued are different people. No, not at all. One of the 4 Afghans who had raped 13-years old Leonie to death was a rejected asylum seeker from Italy and known drug dealer who managed under the “Pashtunwali” with the help of the Afghan community to flee the scene without papers witihn 2 (two) days from Vienna to London (GB) where they got him.
