A Cigar Story. And All Hallows Eve

5 years ago i walked into a sushi bar…ok, it’s an opening for a great joke. It is.

That said, I sat down and looked over the menu and got my order together. The guy next to me was with his wife and they were just back from Central America, tanned in February. It was noon on a Wednesday. Since days of the week are a joke to me but the months aren’t, tanned? I looked like a ghost.

He had a box of unmarked cigars with him. As we were confined in the sushi area we started talking about travel and places we had been. He didn’t want a trade for one of his smokes. He gave me one out of the box. He said that he and his friends get a few hundred a year, every year from the same place in Honduras.

I let that cigar sit in my high end humidor for 5 years. I smoked it just now, well, it took 90 minutes. It was excellent. Almost like a Fuente Long Story….
