Weekend Open and NCAA Football Week 14 (Championship Weekend) 2021 Open

It’s Championship Weekend. Last Week it was a wash, 3/6,  total:33/49 : $1400/$1000.after this the top 4 teams go to a playoff to decide who is the big kahuna. I gotta redeem myself!

FRIDAY:

#10 Oregon

#17 Utah

8:00 PM ABC

Oregon often reminds me of Ohio State, always over-rated and chokes in the big game. To wit, Utah is lower ranked but favored by 2.5 points. So they are the favorite yet lower ranked. They cover the spread. The PAC-10 stinks.

SATURDAY:

#9 Baylor

12:00 PM ABC

OSU survived BEDLAM last week and are now  5.5 point favorites to beat the Baylor Bears. If OSU covers, they should make the playoffs. They cover.

Kent State

12:00 PM ESPN

That’s right! Kent State Golden Flashes are in the MAC FINAL! Bunk will be up extra early to cheer on his Alma Mater.

#1 Georgia

4:00 PM CBS

This is the Big One, The SEC Championship. This opened a couple days ago with the Georgia Bulldogs only a 4 point favorite (the line has moved to 7). Saban very rarely loses two in a row, however, I think the Bulldogs can cover 4 points.

#21 Houston

4:00 PM ABC

I’m sorry, Cincinati does not deserve to be mentioned in the playoff picture, they are a mid-major at best and will be crushed by the other teams in the playoffs.

#2 Michigan

#13 Iowa

8:00 PM FOX

M beat the over-rated, and their much hated rival, Ohio State last weekend. This weekend the line for the Big 10 championship has M as an 11 point favorite. I can see M not covering.

#15 Pittsburgh

8:00 PM ABC

It’s my beloved Panthers in the ACC championship versus the Demon Deacons. (If Miami were in PITT’s shoes, the Hurricanes would be ranked in the top 8. Always grossly over-rated). PITT is a 3 point favorite and covers. PITT QB, Pickett, will be drafted in the first round, and playing on Sunday. He should have a big game.

Yet the Chairman of the World Medical Association (?), was quoted as claiming that Omicron was akin to Ebola. What makes these morons in white coats do this? Their 15 minutes of fame perhaps?

The Chief South Africa opined that Omicron may be a way out of the ‘forever boosters’ corner that the health industry has painted the globe into. It seems that these virologists WANT to maintain the ‘scare’ to keep the hoi poloi in line politically. Herd immunity would go totally against the current globalist narrative.

Viruses like Measles, German Measles ( sorry politically correct Rubella ) Smallpox, Chicken Pox, Mumps, etc. mutate but not by much now because they have been around hundreds of years and have stabalised.

Covid-19 is still mutating and is unstable because it is a YOUNG and NEW virus artificially created.

I never would have imagined me being a conspiracy theorist but in respect to covid I am.

    @ coldwarrior:

I don’t make a habit of watching network news, but some of the coverage of the Omicron thing just makes me wonder if there’s even anyone paying attention to the stories at ABC. Yesterday, they played a clip of Biden telling everyone to “go get vaccinated” in order to protect themselves from it. The very next sentence from the anchor said that “it’s unclear how effective current vaccines are” against Omicron.

So basically, your message is “we don’t know if it will help, but do it anyway.”

And then the next segment had someone talking about how Omicron seems to be less severe than previous variants.

Naturally, the proper response is to cut off travel from South Africa, right?

    @ lobo91:
I lived in South Africa for a while. Yes it was many years ago before the government switched from a white apartheid state to a black ruled country, but I think remnants of the medical and industrial past still remain there.

Why is South Africa detecting new variants? Because they have their shit together.

Notice how once South Africa releases details of a new variant suddenly it is discovered in the USA.

The USA discovered Omicron because South Africa told the USA what to look for.

Talking about South Africa they were isolated. No oil imports etc. No oil in SA. However they have a shit load of coal so, like the Germans did in the 1940s SA synthesized petroleum products from coal to survive.

Medical progress when isolated. SA was the first place a heart transplant was performed.

Cuba is also an example of how embargos and isolation promotes creativity.

I’ve seen some pieces on why forced vaxes don’t violate the Nuremberg code and they all fall somewhere on the spectrum of “the vaccine is not experimental”.

Well, it’s not a vaccine, number one, and number two, it’s experimental.

    @ coldwarrior:
I wish these type of articles didn’t make out viruses are intelligent and adapting.

They are not adapting mistakes are made when they replicate.

Sometimes ( quite often I believe ) the resulting mistake when a virus replicates is just a blob of protiens. Not a virus at all.

Other times the mistake causes a viable, mutated copy of the original virus.

That artical however is correct in stating that when a cell is infected with two types of virus then replication can produce something that is a combination of both viruses.

I could go on, and on, about when I worked in the poultry and hog industry and how we had to wait 72 hours after working with hogs before we were allowed near poultry ( 24 hours the other way around, poultry to hogs )

That was to stop us transferring hog viruses to birds.

When there was a simultaneous outbreak of bird flu and some hog virus that caused small pigs to shit themselves to death those quarantine times for us were greatly extended. In fact I was only working with animals one day per week.

Interspecies transmission of influenza a viruses between Swine and poultry

    PMID: 22167468 DOI: 10.1007/82_2011_180
    Abstract
The special susceptibility of pigs to infection with avian and mammalian influenza viruses, the close proximity of pigs and poultry farms, and applied human practices in raising and trading of farm animals/farm animal products, provide opportunities for genetic exchange and interspecies transmission of influenza A viruses. Although only H1 and H3 influenza subtypes have widely circulated and caused disease in pig populations worldwide, H9 subtype is being continuously detected in pigs in Asia, plus sporadic infections with highly pathogenic H5-avian influenza viruses. On the other hand, swine viruses are continuously isolated from poultry species, especially turkeys, causing economic losses in poultry production. The viral and host factors contributing to influenza transmission between pigs and poultry are poorly defined. In addition, surveillance programs for influenza viruses in both species, especially pigs, are rarely implemented, and thus, leaving many questions about influenza unanswered. In this review, we summarize early and recent findings about influenza transmission between swine and poultry with emphasis on the role of turkeys.

    One for Lobo91.

Been meaning to post this for a while. I know you travel a lot and places you go do not have Internet.

Now, most phone plans give you a certain amount of data per month and also allow you to use phone as a hotspot so you can connect a PC to the Internet.

However most phone plans are capped at a certain number of GB per month ( my StraightTalk is 10 ) and if they allow hotspot it is only 5GB or so.

Months ago I bought an Android phone and plan from Visible. Phone cost $60 and the Visible plan is unlimited data and what I got it for is UNLIMITED hot spot usage. Granted it is throttled down to 5Gb/s but that is plenty enough to stream Amazon videos etc.

I use that device as my home internet, I didn’t transfer my regular established phone number to Visible. Just got it as home internet.

Anyway it is worth looking into. Unlimited data hotspot device ( but only for one connected PC ) fairly fast internet for a PC wherever you can get a cell phone signal.

Yes I have a promo code where I get a free month and anyone who uses that code gets a month for $5 I think. But this isn’t about me getting anything.

Oh Visible is Verizon the cheapo version.

An interesting article from 2020. Well interesting to me because I used to work on climate controls in the poultry industry. Bio-security is so tight at these places that no amount of showering and quarantine gets you in. Other poultry places it was a case of jumping in my little truck and zooming off to fix the problem. Showering before entering the facility and wearing scrubs then showering again before leaving.

The vaccine-egg production places are easy to find. Not so “secret” those places you just send all the parts you can think of and talk their staff through fixing stuff.

    The article.
    https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/27/health/chicken-egg-flu-vaccine-intl-hnk-scli/index.html

The US keeps millions of chickens in secret farms to make flu vaccines. But their eggs won’t work for coronavirus

    By Jessie Yeung, CNN

Updated 3:19 AM ET, Sun March 29, 2020

(CNN)Across the United States, prized chickens are laying life-saving eggs at secret farms.

Few people know where the chickens are kept — their locations are undisclosed as a matter of national security.
Each day, hundreds of thousands of their eggs are trucked to facilities, where they are protected by guards and multimillion-dollar, government-funded security systems.
But these eggs aren’t for breakfast; they’re the source of your common flu shot.

    A few thoughts.

Kamala is on her way out. This article doesn’t say anything we don’t already know

Harris faces staff exodus as questions on her leadership style emerge: ‘This is a sinking ship’

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/harris-faces-staff-exodus-as-questions-on-her-leadership-style-emerge-this-is-a-sinking-ship/ar-AARt2Ll?ocid=BingNews

The ‘tell’ is that it’s from ‘msn’. NOBODY hates Harris more than Dr. Jill and if the MSM is carrying water for her, it means there is someone in the wings they can all support, not just as VP now, but as the Dem candidate in 2022.

Who is it? My guess is – Joe Manchin. The guy is a great ‘straddler’. He’s someone they think can appeal to independents and maybe conservatives who hate Trump (cuz they assume Trump will run) and hence his vote against mandates.

You may not remember this, but he has a connection to big pharma. His daughter has a company that sells Epi-Pen (asthma) and she came under fire some years ago for charging prices that would bankrupt a family

Manchin defends CEO daughter after company raised EpiPen price

    https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/07/politics/manchin-defends-bresch-mylan-epipen-price/index.html

The other thought is about Chris Cuomo finally getting shit-canned.

First of all, CNN doesn’t need him anymore because his brother isn’t Gov of NY anymore.

Second, what is this ‘new info’ that they have?

Well, they know he helped write the defense against the sex crap. What if they find out he also advised him about the nursing home debacle? Janice Dean is going after Andrew loaded for bear and I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a class action suit in the works. If Chris was involved in Andrews decision making in that, and there is evidence CNN knew or should have known, they’re in the crosshairs

    Just an idea……….

When you try and do crypto it is ridiculously complex, inefficient, and tilted against the small trader. Versus what they sell which is that it is the next best thing to sliced bread ever invented.

I followed a game put out into decentralized crypto. It had the complexity of the 70’s pong game just that you could play anyone in the world. People have put several billion dollars into the coin(token) backing the game. $300 is about the min price to purchase access to one of these games. The only people that can afford it are the old ETH investors. This game is all sizzle and no steak but costs 20 steaks. It’s amazing to see the effect of greed.

Now there are more legit games being worked on through major game studios but people say they are all a few years off. You’ll be able to install a crypto poker widget into the blog sidebar and play anyone on the blog. For real money if you want to.

Or one like DeRace which is the horse racing game using real money. Or a red zone college football widget that you can bet on.

I’m watching the first part of the new Beatles documentary Get Back on Disney +, and it’s really fascinating so far. It runs about 7 1/2 hours in total, divided into three parts.

They really did an amazing job of restoring the film and remastering the audio on this. It looks like it was shot last week, rather than 50 years ago (which suddenly makes me feel really old…).

If you’re not a Disney + subscriber, I think you can sign up for a free 7 day trial. It’s definitely worth it.

Just doing a quick research into ‘Patriot Front’. This name has popped up on a lot of so-called anti-hate group sites (ADL, SPLC, etc.) as a new iteration of something called ‘American Vanguard’ or Vanguard America – whatever.

Going back to 2020. On some sites they are being ‘credited’ with Charlottesville.

I don’t know who they are but somebody does. The only honest thing about their name is ‘Front’.

    Grass roots? Hardly. Astro-turf? Definitely.

We have an administration with the wheels falling off: Soaring energy prices that they are crowing about a 2 cent per gallon decrease, disastrous retreat from Afghanistan – SecDef Austin presser yesterday was a train wreck, “we aren’t giving enough credit here. Our military evacuated 120,000 people in a period of a few weeks; that’s unprecedented” while ignoring the fact that if they hadn’t F’d up the whole thing, that evacuation wouldn’t have been necessary, Flooded southern border and they are trying to say everything is OK, the whole new Covid variant thing and pushback from pretty much everyone that “heck no, you ain’t locking things down again”, the supply chain disaster for which their policies have had a hand in exacerbating, and the failing spend plan that they are trying to put in place.

What don’t they have to distract from? I don’t think this little crisis actor thing is in anyway close to being able to cover up the mess they are making of the country.

I just had another thought. Maybe this wasn’t a “for now” action, it was prepping the battlefield for 2022. Trot out a few crisis actors, take some pictures, herd them back onto the rental trucks and send them home or back to whatever three letter agency office in which they work. Then, during the 2022 election campaign, use the photos to tar whomever is running against the chosen democrat communist. This was just some publicity shots and photo ops. MSDNC and C[ommunist]NN have not yet been instructed to cover this group. Kind of like the Steffie Stephanopolous out of the blue question to Romney about banning birth control. Something that will be used later.

COVID-19 Outbreak Reported on US Cruise Ship Despite Fully Vaccinated Passengers

At least 10 cases of COVID-19 have been reported on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship disembarking in New Orleans, officials said.

All crew members and passengers are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, said the Louisiana Department of Health. The agency did not reveal the conditions of those who were infected with the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

“Governor John Bel Edwards, the Louisiana Department of Health, the City of New Orleans and the Port of New Orleans are aware and working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to initiate existing COVID-19 agreements and protocols with the cruise line,” the Louisiana Department of Health said in a statement.

The Norwegian Breakaway had left New Orleans on Nov. 28, making stops in Mexico, Honduras, and Belize. The ship is set to reach New Orleans on Sunday, according to its itinerary.

Authorities with the department of health said more than 3,200 people were on board the ship.

I hate work sometimes. Often some aspects of my work are like solving a puzzle. Some pieces are round, some square, some a weird shape that even the best scientists at MIT have yet to come up with a mathematical formula.

Spent an hour trying to solve next week’s puzzle and the solutions involved lots of tissue paper, sticky tape and many man hours of assembly.

Came home, opened a beer and had a creative moment.

The solution involves no sticky tape, no tissue paper and just 30 seconds total assembly time for each unit times 120 units.

Can’t wait until tomorrow to start production!

    @ eaglesoars:

We have a base in Syria?

    A relatively tiny one:

    Al-Tanf (U.S. military base)

Al-Tanf (Arabic: التَّنْف‎, romanized: at-Tanf), also known as the Al-Tanf garrison (ATG)[3] is a United States military base within territory controlled by the Syrian opposition in Homs Governorate located 24 km west of the al-Tanf border crossing in the Syrian Desert. The surrounding deconfliction zone is located along the Iraq and Jordan–Syria border. The garrison is located along a critical road known as the M2 Baghdad–Damascus Highway.

A significant United States Armed Forces presence at the outpost began in early 2016 during the American-led intervention in the Syrian Civil War in order to train anti-Islamic State fighters of the New Syrian Army rebel group, which was dissolved and reemerged as the Revolutionary Commando Army in December 2016. As of 2021, the al-Tanf base continues to serve as the headquarters for the Revolutionary Commando Army (Maghawir al-Thawra) and a contingent of at least 200 U.S. soldiers operating on behalf of the CJTF-OIR Coalition.

The presence of the American garrison in Syrian territory remains a controversial topic, as both the Syrian[4] and Russian government[5] consider the U.S. presence in al-Tanf illegal; the Syrian government has called for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Syria, while Russia regularly criticizes the “uninvited” American presence in southeastern Syria.[6] The U.S. has called the al-Tanf base a counter to the Russia–Syria–Iran coalition’s residual influence in the area.[7]

The Rukban refugee camp for internally displaced Syrians is located within the deconfliction zone.

And of course, we’re STILL there……..gah

I’m not posting anymore about the Patriot Front stuff. Twitter blew up about it a few hours ago, with the expose of a fake journo who was the first to tweet about it (there are some really good researchers around). The name for that is Sheryl Lewellen who also suddenly popped up out of nowhere.

I don’t know what to think. If I had to guess, I would say this is an entity created for later use. Whether real people, who fit the profile started it or if it was set up as vapor meant to be populated by useful idiots when the time came, I don’t know. It seems odd to me that something created in 2015 (or 2017, depending on who you read) would have such a low profile until now. They didn’t show up for Jan 6 (as far as I know), they didn’t show up for any antifa counter ops – I don’t know WHAT the hell they’ve shown up for except maybe Charlottesville (according to one source).

Also, I’ve known about the still un-solved murder of one of JFK’s mistresses, Mary Pinchot Meyer (about a year after JFK was assassinated). I did NOT know that as soon as Ben Bradlee (he was her brother in law) heard about it, he grabbed her diary and gave it to guess who? James Jesus Angleton.

Still the Black Caps Indian extraction spinner joined the club of three by historically taking all ten wickets all by himself over two days. Remarkable but the Indian tail end had to put up with a rapidly deteriorating wicket on day #2 as well. You’d think the Indian groundsmen would put up a wicket that’d last at least for four days if not five.
