Hey, Germany. Your armband is showing again….
…Public displays of the letter “Z” have been outlawed in two German states, after authorities in Bavaria and Lower Saxony announced over the weekend that anyone who displays the letter – which has become synonymous with support for Russia’s war in Ukraine – will be subject to a fine or three years in jail, according to The Local….
…Meanwhile, Ukraine is asking the entire world to criminalize the usage of “Z” – with Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeting on Tuesday: “I call on all states to criminalize the use of the ‘Z’ symbol as a way to publicly support Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”…
Nor to be outdone, Zelensky scored a major Virtue Signal with Green Energy for the win!
These three actions alone drove 4 Russian armored columns to stop, the soldiers immediately dismounted and began a free range, vegan, queer friendly, organic, fair trade, soy milk and avocado farm.
These latest virtue signals will surely be THE ONEs that breaks Putin’s back! Everyone sporting Ukie flags came oh so close to finishing him off!

Amazed that a top FBI cyber official has no idea where Hunter Biden’s laptop is after the bureau took custody in late 2019, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., on Tuesday motioned during a House hearing to enter the contents of the first son’s computer into the congressional record.
Initially at a loss for words, Democratic Chairman Jerry Nadler of New York objected to the unanimous consent request after consultation, insisting further “investigation” was needed.
Gaetz repeatedly asked the FBI cyber division assistant director, Bryan Vorndran, if he knew the whereabouts of the laptop that is at the center of a Justice Department investigation into Hunter Biden’s lucrative business deals.
“I don’t know that answer,” the FBI official said.

Update(0943): State media is reporting that Russia’s lead negotiator after coming off Tuesday’s “constructive” talks in Istanbul is saying that “Kiev has essentially agreed” to Moscow’s key demands of not joining NATO or allowing foreign bases and troops on its soil.
“Ukrainian negotiators have essentially agreed to Russia’s principle security demands of rejecting NATO membership and regarding the presence of foreign military bases on its territory,” the Kremlin’s chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky has said. In the statement he noted further that Ukraine has “stated willingness to meet core Russian demands.” He said further while speaking to Rossiya-24 broadcaster on Wednesday:
“Yesterday, for the first time…the authorities in Kiev have declared their readiness to negotiate with Russia. They handed us on paper the principles of a possible future agreement, which provides for: a rejection of entry into NATO, fixing Ukraine’s bloc-free status, a renunciation of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.”
At the same time on Wednesday there appears to be more positive signals coming from the Ukrainian side, with its negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak saying that while a peace deal with Russia is in the works, it would only be put up for a national referendum after Russia withdraws all troops to their pre-invasion Feb.23rd positions. But this is a huge if – given it’s impossible to predict anything in terms of the on-the-ground battle or the Russian military’s intent.

Here’s how The Post analyzed Hunter Biden’s laptop
Two experts confirm the veracity of thousands of emails, but say a thorough examination was stymied by missing data
Thousands of emails purportedly from the laptop computer of Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, are authentic communications that can be verified through cryptographic signatures from Google and other technology companies, say two security experts who examined the data at the request of The Washington Post.
The verifiable emails are a small fraction of 217 gigabytes of data provided to The Post on a portable hard drive by Republican activist Jack Maxey. He said the contents of the portable drive originated from Biden’s MacBook Pro, which Biden reportedly dropped off at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Del., in April 2019 and never reclaimed.

Maybe the FBI could ask WaPo. Altho they might have to wait for Leslie Stahl to verify that now it can be verified.

The Most Distant Single Star Was Just Detected, as Ancient as The Cosmic Dawn
From billions of light-years across the vast gulf of space-time, from the very dawn of the Universe, astronomers have detected the light of a single star.
Its discoverers have nicknamed it Earendel, from the Anglo-Saxon word meaning “morning star”; to date, it is the most distant object of its kind ever detected, dating to just 900 million years after the Big Bang.
Because Earendel’s light has traveled so far to reach us, its properties are difficult to discern, but follow-up observations have already been approved for the James Webb Space Telescope.
The first billion years of the Universe’s history following the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago, also known as the Cosmic Dawn, are very difficult to see. Not only is it murky and dark very early, when the first stars and galaxies form, it’s also extremely distant. Even finding quasars, the brightest objects in the Universe, stretches the capabilities of our technology and analysis techniques.
But there’s a quirk of gravity that can show us small, distant things that might otherwise be beyond our reach. It’s called gravitational lensing, and it has to do with the gravitational curvature of space-time around massive objects, such as galaxies and galaxy clusters.

Big money in assessing fees and interest on the poor. I saw an internet chart last week that in 2011 the US economy suffered 4 Billion of loses due to theft. And 11 Billion of loses due to banking overdraft fees.
https://prospect.org/economy/big-banks-charged-billions-in-overdraft-fees-during-pandemic/
JPMorgan Chase, for example, made a stunning $1.5 billion in revenue on overdraft alone in 2020, according to recent FDIC filings. During that same period, Bank of America made $1.1 billion in profits, and Wells Fargo made $1.3 billion. The final three months of 2020, when the pandemic was at its most widespread and deadliest, were also the year’s most profitable, with all three of those banks pulling down over $300 million just in overdraft fees. So while Americans suffered through the worst wave of our worst public-health crisis in 100 years, with unemployment sky-high and intermittently lapsed federal benefits, the country’s biggest banks were gouging the poorest Americans for billions of dollars in punitive fees.

This Russia thing hasn’t worked yet, I don’t know why they keep trying it
MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said Wednesday on her show “Deadline” former president Donald Trump and FNC’s Tucker Carlson are “associating themselves” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Wallace said, “I want to put up this kind of axis of Putin, Trump, Tucker Carlson, because I think we have mistakenly thought that world events or tragedies or a red line or the slaughter of innocents or as Tony Blinken says, ‘the commission of war crimes,’ that these things could be defrosted, they could be put on ice, but it is clear they are not. Tucker Carlson has been amplifying Russian disinformation: March 8, blamed America for Russia’s war, March 12 far-right embrace of the bioweapon conspiracy theory as the bombs were falling on Mariupol and other Ukrainian cities. And then, on March 13, we learned that the Kremlin feels it is essential to feature Tucker Carlson. Have you ever covered one of the two American political parties associating themselves with an American adversary at a time of war?”

It was designed as a “stealth” fighter.
Fighters fight other aircraft.
The enemy launches fighters to shoot down planes that can drop bombs.
Friendly fighters protect the bombers and shoot down the enemy fighters that were launched to kill the bombers. But the F22 does not have the range to follow a B2 all the way.
That is not the way shit works in 2022.
Stealthy ish bombers, long range stand off weapons and there is no real scenario where F22s with their cannons and 480 bullets will be needed.
Fighter on fighter dogfights went out in WWII ( Ok I grant you this, maybe Korean war, or Vietnam, or flying the flag the Falklands when sub sonic Harriers took out supersonic Argentinian, SPIT French built aircraft )
OK so they re-designed the F22 as a ground attack stealthy plane.

Above 18,000 feet an A-4 flew like a truck of shit. An empty Boeing 737-300 could not only fly faster than an A-4 but it also had a faster roll rate which REALLY pissed off the Airforce jockies.

A10s are great if you have control of the air. Hey maybe 30 years ago A10s with air fighter support from Harriers would have been an awesome combination on short range missions.
With the current missile technology aircraft are becoming obsolete.
Just like in the 50’s when that German person made USAF intercontinental missiles and the hundreds of aircraft flying around in circles in the artic were no longer needed.
OK not trying to start a fight but history is repeating itself.

The F-117 was an unarmed light bomber even if it had a F- nomencular, that flew like a subsonic truck. It was the first attempt at true stealth but the flat surfaces were compromises because there wasn’t the IT power to model true stealthy curves.
The F-22 was a true Air Superiority Fighter, that hasn’t been matched except by networking.
And yes a gun will always be the last line of defence. However missiles can be spoofed and the new half dozen (can’t remember their new ‘warry’ name but they used to be called Loyal Wingmen during development) combat drones, pass the power back to the offence and hence the F-35 and F-22.
Half a dozen supersonic drones using AI with some flying offense and some defence protecting the manned core aircraft of the flight, give the power back to the attacker. Automated directed LASER defense is rumoured as the next big leap. Manned aircraft both with men in the loop on the ground as well as in the air is the next step.
@ Aussie Infidel:
Concorde was First Class.
Me, as a Concord bomber pilot would have slowed down to a very slow Mach 0.9 and opened the bomb bay, unleashed my Tomahawks 600 miles from the target and then done a gentle 180 turn and hit the gas. Headed back to Heathrow, landed, got myself a martini, shaken not stirred and settled into a comfy chair and watched CNN live from Baghdad and watched the missiles explode.
Alas, I am now too old, there are no Concordes still flying, I doubt the USA would let me borrow a Tomahawk and even if all that was possible me blowing up Baghdad would be frowned upon.

Why are there guns still being fitted to fighter airplanes? Because the USAF cocked up in the 1960s and they have learned from their mistakes

@ Aussie Infidel:
Didn’t that F117 get shot down because even though it was stealthy and invisible to radar it kind of was obvious from the ground as it sort of stopped people from seeing the stars on that clear night.

To be honest I do not know. Military budget?
I as someone who is stupid cannot see the reason or advantage in flying any aircraft within a thousand miles of somewhere you want to bomb.

Oil companies have always treated them with respect and above-board dealings. Railroads not even close, they used every opportunity to try to get what they want for a below-market price and were very manipulative in their attempted dealings.
