THIS IS AN OPEN THREAD

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S YINZ GUYS!!!

Alright, let’s get to it. I sucked at betting this year, thankfully, it’s with fake money so ‘two thumb’s’ Deluzio won’t be looking for me! I started with $1000 and am at $400…was as high as $1600/$1000. I would have walked at that point if this were real cash.

We are firmly ensconced in the gargemahal at G’ma and Pappap Coldwarrior’s palatial estate ‘up north’ . The traditional ‘kraut, pork products, and spaetzel  will be ready to go soon. The beer is in the fridge and the TV is getting warmed up.

My Beloved Panthers beat the #18 UCLA Bruins last night. AND, The Vols put a hurtin’ on the Clemson Tigers, , so most is right with the world. Admittedly, I would have lost $$$ on that game….I was going to put the remaining balance on just one game to try to recover, but that is an amateur move and is exactly what ‘two thumb’s’ Deluzio wants me to do.

Big Football Today and Monday:

Allstate Sugar Bowl

  @  9 Kansas State
12:00 PM
ESPN

‘Bama missed the playoffs and get to play a surprising #9 K-State team. The Tide are 7 point faves in NOLA so this is a home game for them. They beat this spread. ($100)

TransPerfect Music City Bowl

  @  Kentucky
12:00 PM

Don’t Care

3 TCU

CFP Semifinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl

  @  2 Michigan
4:00 PM
ESPN

Anyone who tells you that they had the TCU Horned Frogs making the playoffs last August is a liar. This team just finds way’s to win. They are a hoot to watch. BUT, Michigan is a hard team. They run it down your throat and by the 4th quarter, the opposing team’s defense is spent, then M puts the screws to ya. The line has been 7.5 all week with ZERO movement. I think the TCU ‘Team of Destiny’ mantra ends today and M covers ($100). NOPE! i’m $200 in after ‘bama stomped the dogshit of some team from the big 12. (1550 update).

CFP Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

  @  1 Georgia
8:00 PM
ESPN

Interestingly though, these two storied teams have met only one time, in 1993. I watched both teams get off the buses this week…The Bulldogs were all in suits, no headphones, no bling, and looked like they were going to a serious business meeting. The Buckeyes were in mismatched track suits, headphones, bling, and looked like a bunch of meandering, disorganized rabble. That is all I need to see. Woody Hayes is spinning in his grave. G is a 6 point favorite and covers. The line was 6.5 until very early this AM. Looks like the money is running toward the Bulldogs. ($200).

MONDAY:

Rose Bowl Game Presented by Prudential

  @  8 Utah
5:00 PM
ESPN

The Grandaddy of Them ALL! The Rose Bowl. Da Utes are 2 point favorites. This should be an excellent game. I’ll see what I have left to bet after Saturday’s festivities.

    Those posts were interesting. Voltaire!

    16 | December 31, 2022 12:46 pm

Interesting story about Voltaire. The partner of his life was Emilie du Chatelet. She was what was called a ‘natural philosopher’. Brilliant woman. Translated Newton’s Principia Mathmatica from Latin to French. Voltaire took her to court once where the royals met her and found her utterly boring, so that went well. She had philosophical disagreements with Locke, that’s for sure. She was, of course, married, just not to Voltaire. IIRC her husband was in the military, so away quite a bit. The friendship with Voltaire was lifelong, the affair faded. She took up with a French poet whose name I’ve forgotten and became pregnant by him. Oops! Voltaire et. al. had to scramble to get her husband called back home so that he could reasonably be credited as the father. She was in her early 40s. She did give birth to a daughter, but apparently threw a clot and it killed her. Her daughter lived for just a short while, approximately 2 yrs. Voltaire mourned her until his own death about 30 years later.

She was a remarkable woman. Published by French scientific academies, admitted to one academy in Italy (I think it was Italy). People who think they are so avant practically deify Sartre and de Beauvoir. They have no clue. He was a sexual pervert and she was his procurer and together they allowed at least one Jew they could have protected to be taken. They were moral trash, both of them. And having read de Beauvoir, I’m sorry/not sorry, she was an intellectual poseur. They were never fit to wash the feet of Voltaire and Emilie.

/rant over, go back to your football

They would all be pretty bad, but from what I’ve seen teachers would win by a landslide. Of course that may because there are more teachers than the other categories but it’s really bad. The schools also have a system in place to cover it up. Teacher gets accused, school shuffles them off to another district where they can hide until they do it again.

    5. Conclusion: A profile of the average Leftist
Using the data compiled above, we can construct a basic psychological profile of the typical Leftist. This will not apply to every Left-Wing individual, but it can serve as a general framework for understanding and dealing with Leftists. So, generally speaking…

Leftists believe that life is fundamentally unfair, likely due to their undesirable physical characteristics (shortness, ugliness, weakness, etc.).

This causes neuroticism and leads to self-obsession and spiteful envy.

They lose all concern for group interests and focus exclusively on advancing their own standing in society.

As they cannot get ahead in fair competition, they resort to underhanded, manipulative, and psychopathic strategies.

This manifests as behaviors like victimhood/virtue signaling, gaslighting, and other forms of coercion and emotional abuse.

To disguise their nefarious and self-serving aims, they proclaim a universal love for humanity, nature, or the even entire material universe.

They collaborate with other outcasts and potentially dangerous out-groups to exact vengeance on their perceived “oppressors,” by which they mean normal people.

However, they will happily betray (“cancel”) their friends and allies, who they value as little as inert objects like rocks, for social gains.

Supports my take that all leftism is based on revenge for perceived slights/jealousy.

Yes, but I’ve known some physically unattractive people who were most certainly not leftist, vengeful, etc. My favorite was a girl I went to school with, Susan. Naturally large-boned, quite tall, naturally frizzy hair and the classic Semitic nose. She was also effing brilliant to the point of being intimidating (ended up MIT/physics, yessiree!) She was one of the most generous, funniest people I ever knew. I will always be in her debt because she is the one who introduced me to Tolkien. She loaned me the entire series. I was lost for weeks. May God always bless her.

Yeah it overrates the appearance thing. The fact is leftists have something broken inside that makes them lash out at the world.

Well, one thing I know about Susan. She was an only child whose parents loved her deeply. There was no spoiling, they expected her to do her best and earn it, but they taught her that her best was brilliant. And it was. She was loved unconditionally by her Mom and Dad, she knew it. Dad was a doctor of some kind, Mom was a musician, violin I think, who taught music at one of the Univs. Nicest people in the world. Offered me free run of their (considerable) library whenever I wanted. I took them up on that too! Ask me how I found out about Torah.

That there is key. I spoiled my kids and was spoiled by my parents, but there were still expectations. The easiest way to get a liberal is making them feel they are entitled to something. Entitlement mentality means that if it isn’t given to me then whoever has it stole it from me. Thus, the revenge motive.

Well my no alcohol resolution lasted until 11:27am when I walked to the store to get beer. I tried.

However what is worrying is last night I started my 2023 Keto diet endeavor.

Wonderful Keto supper, three eggs, butter, sour cream with greasy bacon and even greasier fried mushrooms. All topped with full fat sharp cheddar!

To be honest the Keto diet is kind of awesome because you get to eat seriously fatty and greasy things that are yummy. And filling.

But combine that with a 12 pack of beer per day and you are into heart attack territory.

Anyway just passing through, lunch is calling my name. Greasy sausage and eggs and cheese and, um more beer.

The real Pope did die but the guy installed by the German Sant Gallen bunch of apostates comrade Frank was slipped in. He fortunately committed heresy on a grand scale and managed to cancel his shaky tenure, and hasn’t been a RC as a consequence for quite some time. Not even being Catholic makes it ‘kinda’ impossible to be pope,’ doncha’ think?

So the Church currently has no pope. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. Don’t get too bent out of shape about it. We know who wins in the end and have been told so on VERY good authority. It’s a bummer living through these times but someone had to do it. Count it as a blessing that those alive now were chosen to endure this time of chastisement.

It isn’t really as Benedict was a virtual prisoner locked away as he was. I got the feeling that he did as he was bade and moved aside to allow Frank and his wicked crew the space and time to bring on a chastisement. He made some serious mistakes during his tenure but trued to back away when he realised what he’d done. JPII made even more egregious mistakes especially with his ecumenism got totally out of hand , Orthodox aside of course. At least Benedict left behind some ‘bear traps’ for Frank to fall into , so the Faithful were not left totally exposed.

This is an important article that everyone should have to read. Look at all the programming that happens, rejecting all family and friends that don’t agree. That is isolating, the same way cults do. In fact all the cues of cult behavior are evident in what was being done and how their friends and “transgender advisors” react and direct.

This quote is from the comments. It is pretty on the nose.

Interesting argument, but, no, the one doesn’t necessarily follow from the other.

In fact, the irony of transgender ideology is that it is as rigidly gender-stereotypical as a 50s dad belting his son for being a “fairy”.

Trans doesn’t allow that boys can be “girly”, or that girls can be “tomboys”. If they act in stereotypical “girly” ways, they must be a girl, and vice-versa.

So, in fact, transgenderism is deeply homophobic. This is seen in the outcome that the mania for “trans-men” has all but erased young lesbians, while Iran forces gay men to surgically transition to “women”.

All these military SOF people talk about this a lot. The breachers took 100’s of impacts. They say every person on the team is close enough to get impacted by the pressure of the blast. They call it over pressure. Leads to all kinds of long term issues. I don’t hear them talk vax except that they look for creative ways to get out of taking the shot.

Looks like the DOJ has painted itself into a corner on gun control:

Sutherland Springs shooting survivors say DOJ appeal damages gun safety laws

Surviving victims and critics say the government’s appeal of a decision that found it liable in the 2017 mass shooting could undermine the nation’s background check system.

Survivors of a 2017 mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, said they find themselves frustrated, confused and angry as the Justice Department nears its deadline to appeal the decision that found the federal government liable in the attack that killed 26 of their fellow churchgoers.

Critics of the Justice Department’s potential appeal, including the surviving victims, said the agency’s stated arguments undermine the background check system — a cornerstone of President Joe Biden’s gun policy priorities. The government’s lawyers claimed during the first trial that the gunman could have purchased firearms elsewhere, even if a background check would have prevented him from legally purchasing them from a licensed gun dealer.

The government has until Jan. 9 to file its appeal, in which it could further argue that the background check system — a key defense in the United States to ensure guns are not acquired by criminals or people with a history of violence — does not work, which critics say is a common talking point of the gun lobby.

The disharmony between the Justice Department’s case and the Biden administration’s gun safety efforts is at the crux of the survivors’ acrimony, along with the fears and pressure that a lost appeal could damage gun safety laws.

“If I had an opportunity to meet President Biden, I would ask him, ‘Why? Why are you doing all this (gun reform) and yet you’re fighting it over here?’” said Juan “Gunny” Macias, a survivor who was shot numerous times in the attack and viewed the president’s gun safety priorities as dissonant with the potential Justice Department appeal.

In July 2021, the government was found liable for failing to provide records that could have kept Devin Kelley from acquiring the weapon he used in the shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, and it was ordered to pay the more than 80 survivors and victim family members $230 million. The Justice Department has received two extensions to file its appeal brief, now due next week, and is unlikely to receive another one.

Jamal Alsaffar, an attorney for the victims, said that the Justice Department had backed out of mediation over the case and that he is preparing for a potential appeal that he believes could damage gun safety laws. It would also put his clients through many more months of reliving the traumatic shooting, he said.

“The gun lobby can’t wait until they file this appeal because then they’ll say, ‘Look, even the Biden (Department of Justice) says they don’t have to follow background check laws because they don’t really work,’” he said.

The intentions of the government’s lawyers may be to point out that the nation’s gun control measures are fairly limited and that there are many loopholes that can be taken advantage of, said Robert Spitzer, a political science professor at the State University of New York College at Cortland, who has authored six books on gun policy. Nevertheless, gun rights supporters would likely celebrate the Justice Department’s success in the case, he added.

As the Justice Department’s “lawyers are brought in to be good lawyers, not to be good Democrats or Republicans,” he said, they are likely trying to win at all costs without fully considering the political ramifications or how it will affect victims.

“I assume the Justice Department is taking this position because the lawyers are looking for the best legal avenues that will give them the outcome they want,” he said. “But, sometimes, a good legal strategy is a poor political strategy, and this might be an example of that.”

    IIRC eyes really confounded Darwin

Scientists Grew Stem Cell ‘Mini Brains’ And Then The Brains Sort-of Developed Eyes

Mini brains grown in a lab from stem cells spontaneously developed rudimentary eye structures, scientists reported in a fascinating 2021 paper.

On tiny, human-derived brain organoids grown in dishes, two bilaterally symmetrical optic cups were seen to grow, mirroring the development of eye structures in human embryos. This incredible result could help us to better understand the process of eye differentiation and development, as well as eye diseases.

“Our work highlights the remarkable ability of brain organoids to generate primitive sensory structures that are light sensitive and harbor cell types similar to those found in the body,” said neuroscientist Jay Gopalakrishnan of University Hospital Düsseldorf in Germany in a 2021 statement.

I’m really not sure what everyone is afraid of with McCarthy, anyway. He’s already said that they’re going to have all the investigations everyone wants. It’s not like they’re going to get anything passed legislatively, regardless of who the Speaker is. Anything they pass is going to die in the Senate, anyway.

There’s nobody who will get more votes than McCarthy, even if he were to withdraw. They’ll just start a new round of fighting with 3 or 4 other candidates who each get 30 or 40 votes. Next thing we know, it’ll be March, and we’ll be on the 147th round of voting.

Just give it to McCarthy and be done with it so we can maybe get something done, and stop looking like a bunch of children.

The fire started around 9 p.m. at Associated Milk Producers, Inc., in Portage.

Firefighters struggled with flames, smoke, and melted butter that flowed through the building.

Hazardous materials crews were called in to contain the butter runoff that flowed into sewers and waterways.

I made some assumptions but not having operated helicopters and only fixed wing aircraft I thought the command pilot would be on the LEFT! This was WRONG for helicopters.
    Did some more homework.
Bell Huey’s, Apaches, Sikorskys, etc., ALL have the helicopter pilot position on the RIGHT.
Only fixed wing aircraft have the pilot position on the left.
EUROCOPTER… unilaterally….decided TO CHANGE the command helicopter pilot’s position to the LEFT!
By the bye the helicopter’s the ‘Collective’ is always on the Left in helicopters !

Here’s MY take on this accident.
BOTH pilots were new to the Eurocopter.
Dreamworld was operating Squirrels up until a few weeks ago, when they took delivery of these new Eurocopters.
When the pilot took off, his normal position in the Squirrel would have been on the right of the helicopter and he would have seen the approaching helicopter on his right.

    BANG!

A passenger in the rear of the departing helicopter was seen on an iPhone film repeated trying to warn the pilot in the LEFT seat that he was flying into a descending helicopter’s approach profile. BOTH Pilots views of each other were obscured and they were BOTH operating as they would have ‘normally’, if they had been in anything EXCEPT an EUROCOPTER. They were both in the other’s blind spot and were flying profiles that were NOT suitable for Eurocopter ops. They should have separated themselves to the right of each other and NOT the LEFT as they were used to operate.

Even though the USA stole all of the systems we live by you didn’t get it quite right.

There are mechanisms in the UK that stop this shit show of deciding who will be the speaker happening.

Just make the job of Speaker of the House so dangerous to his health and welfare, (duels at dawn anyone?) that the Members of the house have to ‘whip’ the Speaker into his Speaker’s Chair.

    🙁

    HEH!

The US House also got the layout of the House all wrong. They forgot to have the Treasury seats (those controlling the $$$) opposite to the Opposition’s seats. The seats are divided by the width of two Members facing off to each other, standing with swords drawn trying to dual, but only the tips of their words managing to touch the other’s. Perhaps a little more spilling of Members’ blood might smarten up the legislative program. At least it’d make for better political ‘theatre’!

    🙂

Lithium is so valuable as a component of electronic batteries – mostly for cars mobile phones and computers – that it’s known as “white gold.” The price has gone up by 1,100 percent in the past two years alone.

Zimbabwe has the largest amount of the mineral in Africa and has enough of it to supply a fifth of the world’s needs, the government says

    Correct

I’m NOT talking tandem seated crew where both pilot and gunner sit centreline.

I’m talking all other helicopters featuring side by side crew seating. Traditionally in helicopters the pilot sits on the right (Starboard) side. The point I was making was that Eurocopter has broken the standard and seated the pilot on the Left (port) seat. This makes traffic control and helicopter passing rules moot and as we see deadly. Especially so where pilots switch back and forth between Eurocopter and the rest. Or where pilots in transition from ‘standard’ helicopters to Eurocopter have to remember which side to pass other helicopters to minimise blind spots, especially so when helicopters are changing position in the vertical plane.

This is from one of my favorite blogs. It’s British so it doesn’t have much that most Americans would find of interest. It does, however, have some great writing. This post is pure Americana and you may like it.

Some few minutes before four o’clock on the afternoon of August 2, 1876 — right here in Deadwood — a cross-eyed broken-nosed alcoholic called Jack McCall stumbled into Carl Mann’s No.10 Saloon on Main Street.

He reeled to a table where four men were playing a friendly game of poker. The cards had been dealt and one of the players — a big man, flamboyantly handsome, with a fine cavalry moustache — was studying his hand when McCall sidled up behind him, drew a gun and shot the big man dead.

It was — you might say — a shot that echoed round the world. Deadwood has been living on it for more than 90 years. For the victim was Wild Bill Hickok, the original Fastest Gun in the West.

n fact, after a few hours in Deadwood you begin to wonder what the town would ever have done if Wild Bill hadn’t been shot.

The first thing they do is to take you to the Wild Bill Bar, buy you a beer, and stand you on the very spot where Fate caught up with Bill Hickok.

There is the chair on which he was sitting at the time. There is the headboard from his grave, set up by his sorrowing partner, Colorado Charlie Utter (“Partner, we will meet again in the Happy Hunting Grounds to part no more”).

And, of course, there in the middle of the table is the hand Bill was holding when he died — “aces and eights,” for ever afterwards the Dead Man’s Hand.

  216. eaglesoars
    220 | January 5, 2023 10:35 am

But it was not Wild Bill I was trailing through Deadwood. I had come here to pay my respects to one of the most controversial, and at the same time most tragic, figures in Western history.

She was born Martha Jane Canary. But to the miners and gamblers of Deadwood Gulch — as, later, to the world — she was known as Calamity Jane.

n Calamity, fact and fiction are inextricably tangled. As long as books are written about the West, Calamity will he part of them. And as long as such books are written historians will take sides for or against her.

If you belong to the anti-Calamity party, she was nothing but a foul-mouthed slut who swore like a trooper, smoked like a chimney, and drank like a fish. If you are pro-Calamity, as I unashamedly am, then she is a tragic example of a woman born 50 years before her time.

    My kind of girl!

I have a solution to the current speaker voting debacle.

Fact 1. Currently the Republicans are not united in their choice of speaker. There is much friction and disarray within the Republican house members.

Fact 2. There is absolutely no chance whatsoever a Democrat speaker will be chosen.

    My cunning plan is….

At the next vote EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT votes for McCarthy. If they ALL do it no one can be singled out as being disloyal to the party.

The result? The Republicans will be stuck with a speaker they do not unanimously agree on. That will cause friction within their ranks.

That to me would be a Democrat win!!!!!

ok, that buffalo bills player who nearly died on the field after a hit had a very rare occurrence, it’s called R on T or Commotio Cordis and it has nothing to do with clot shot or stuff like that.

essentially, if a person is hit in the chest at a very precise spot at a very, very precise time in the heart beat, the heart goes into v-fib which is essentially a total and complete disorganization of the normal heart beat. there is no pulse and blood is going nowhere while the heart muscles fire in a completely disorganized manner. the normal heart beat is a fine symphony, this v-fib is really bad free-form jazz.

the T wave is where the ventricles (the lower part of the heart that sends blood out) is in a state of re-polarization. this is where the heart muscle is moving from contraction to relaxation for the next beat. it lasts milliseconds. the impact has to happen at the first half of the T wave, making the target window even smaller. 10-30 milliseconds or 2% of the total heart beat time.

when we have to de-fibrillate someone with the electrical pads, the machine has a fail-safe that will not allow the shock to be delivered on the T wave (R on T). This shock at that time is extremely dangerous and will kill you.

his shock was mechanical, just at the right tiny moment, and resulted in the same outcome, ventricular fibrillation. the only way out is to re-shock (re-set) the heart and this does not always work. he received high quality CPR on the field and that saved his life until they could shock him out of it. he is very lucky.

At least some of what he wrote HAS to be pure fabrication. Meghan claims to have suffered a miscarriage sometime between the birth of their son and daughter. People doubt that, they’ve always referred to it as ‘mythcarriage’. It didn’t help when she wrote about it in the NYT and people found out she had plagiarized it.

In the book Harry writes that they left the hospital with the fetus and buried it in a secret place under a banyan tree in a hole he dug with his bare hands.

Which is quite a feat as banyan trees only grow in Florida (in the US)

I’ve had a miscarriage. You aren’t leaving the hospital with that baby, period, full stop. And having had to check on this in order to write our own wills, you aren’t burying a body anyplace but a cemetery.

So basically anyone in Texas either male, female or of undetermined gender who possesses six or more dildos is going to jail!

COVID Psy-Op Exposed: ‘Network’ of Doctors Who Pushed Masking, Lockdowns on Twitter During Pandemic DON’T EXIST

    by Jamie White

Doctors and physicians who were pushing masking, COVID lockdowns, and the experimental vaccines on Twitter during the pandemic were actually part of a “network” of fake accounts, according to a bombshell report.

An exposé by The San Francisco Standard revealed that numerous accounts purporting to be doctors in the LGBTQ community were nothing more than bots pushing the establishment COVID narratives.

Honeyman’s supposed husband, Dr. Patrick C. Honeyman, was also a fake account that used a stolen stock photo.

    image.jpeg

The piece highlighted the account of Dr. Robert Honeyman, who described himself on Twitter as a “Doctor of Sociology and Feminist studies” with a “keen interest in poetry,” and had used a royalty-free stock photo as his profile picture.

“The two fake doctors, whose accounts urged extreme caution about Covid-19, were part of a network of at least four fake accounts that touted their ties to the LGBTQ+ community, vocally advocated for mask-wearing and social distancing, and dished out criticism to those they felt were not taking the pandemic seriously,” the San Francisco Standard reported. “The Honeymans could not be reached for comment, as they do not exist. At publication time, Robert Honeyman’s account was no longer active.”

A reverse Google image search reveals Robert Honeyman’s photo is indeed a stock image from DepositPhotos.

The fake doctors were uncovered by self-described “gay writer” Joshua Gutterman Tranen, who noticed Robert Honeyman’s tweet about their husband being in a coma, and noted their ties to the LGBTQ community.

“I’m a self-identified leftist, and I understand that people have a lot of different identities, but it felt concocted in the lab about how many identities and horrible experiences can we put on one person,” he said.

The report noted that it’s “unclear” who created these accounts and others like it, but given the presence of other virtual-signaling symbols on their profiles like the trans and Ukrainian flags, the accounts likely were geared to influence liberals scared of COVID.

Though the origin of these accounts and their purpose is unknown, investigative journalist Jeremy Loffredo estimated they were part of an “intel op.”

“On Twitter there existed an entire network of supposed ER doctors who identified as part of the trans community who constantly lost patients to COVID & received thousands of retweets. Except they don’t exist. Surely an COVID intel op,” he tweeted Thursday.

When asked whether the IP addresses of the fake accounts to be traced, Loffredo replied, “Langley VA,” the location of the CIA’s headquarters.

Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the mRNA technology used in the COVID jabs, linked to the SF Standard’s story, saying, “Just in case you were still confused about the military-grade psy ops that has been deployed against all of us.”

… ” These are NOT the ‘droids you’re looking for. Move along….. ”

Obiwan knew a thing or two!

    🙂

Yet just yesterday I saw ‘wetskin’ droids wandering about outdoors wearing masks on a sunny summer’s day and feeling holler than thou, in their socialist delusions and terminal authoritarianism.

These anthrophobic cultists are a danger, not only to themselves but to the rest of us.

Biden’s Potemkin trip to the southern border

Days before President Joe Biden visited El Paso, Texas, this afternoon, local and federal authorities began clearing out migrant encampments. Federal agents said this was a response to community complaints of rising crime, but it is more likely that the president’s impending visit and the need to avoid embarrassing photos was decisive.

Biden will learn nothing from his trip because he doesn’t want to learn anything. He already announced his new immigration policy Thursday, days before his trip. He is obviously going in hope of grabbing the initiative on a policy area he has botched spectacularly as he rolls out his as-yet undeclared reelection campaign.

In his speech announcing an expanded parole program that grants work visas to 360,000 people a year, Biden mocked the idea that migrants were coming to the United States just to make more money.

“It’s not like people are sitting around a table somewhere in Central America and saying, ‘I got a great idea. Let’s sell everything we have. Let’s give it to a coyote, a smuggler. They’ll take us on a harrowing journey for thousands of miles to get to the United States, then we’re going to illegally cross the border.’”

Actually, Mr. President, that is exactly what is happening.

Just months after Biden was sworn in, after he ended the “Remain in Mexico” policy on Day One and ended Title 42 for families with children, Javier Gomez, his wife, Maria Gomez, and his daughter crossed the border illegally into the U.S. from Mexico. “We sold our house, everything to come,” Javier Gomez told reporters. “In Venezuela, there is no food, no electricity, no medicine, no work,” Maria Gomez added. “We are blessed to have made it.”

Rodrigo Neto, who sold his shop and car to pay for his journey from Brazil, told a similar story. “What we’re hearing back home is that the new president is facilitating entry and there is demand for labor,” Neto told reporters. “I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”

Biden should deport Prince Harry to kick off immigration crisis crackdown

As Joe Biden finally heads to the southern border for the first time, not just in his presidency but his entire political career, a prominent and privileged immigrant to the States has bragged about violating U.S. immigration law. Amid a historic immigration crisis plaguing the country, Prince Harry almost surely lied to immigration authorities about his prevalent use of Schedule I drugs and Schedule II narcotics.

According to George Washington University immigration professor Alberto Benitez, the son of King Charles III would have been asked about his prior drug use upon his application to reside in the United States with his American wife, Meghan.

“If he was truthful in his answers, he should have been denied,” Benitez told the Telegraph.

If Biden is serious about cracking down on the country’s current immigration crisis, there would be no better way to signal his seriousness than to deport a high-profile, wildly privileged prince who, if he did indeed lie to immigration officials, committed a felony.

Although Harry has used his memoir to brag about his use of cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics, his immigration status is unclear. Previous reports claimed that he is not seeking American citizenship, which would require him to renounce any foreign titles or orders of nobility. Immigration experts have said that Harry most likely has an O-1 visa, which is reserved for immigrants with “extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements.”

Unlike O-1 beneficiary Hugh Jackman, he is not an actor or a singer. His polo prowess is far from “extraordinary,” and as far as academics go, he has exactly two A-levels: one B in art and another D in geography. His current source of income is publicly and incessantly complaining about his father, who, until Harry was 36 years old, bankrolled his entire life.

Yes, getting the immigration crisis under control means securing the southern border, but it also means cracking down on immigrants who overstay their visas or commit felonies to obtain them. If the buck really stops with Biden, he should make a lesson of Harry to prove that nobody — not even the disgraced prince of the United Kingdom — is above the law.

Gov. Kristi Noem, Family at ‘High Risk’ of Identity Theft After Jan. 6 Committee’s SSN Leak: Attorney

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who has just begun her second term, says she and her immediate family are at a “very high risk” of identity theft after the House’s Jan. 6 committee made the family’s Social Security numbers public.

In what Noem’s attorney described as a “critical breach of confidential data,” the Social Security numbers belonging to Noem, her husband, her three children, and her son-in-law were published without redaction as part of the White House’s visitor logs that became exhibits during hearings by the panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol.

The logs contained “nearly 2,000 Social Security numbers associated with visitors to the White House in December 2020,” according to The Washington Post, which first reported on the leak. The numbers, as required by law, should have been redacted prior to the document’s publication.

“This information was publicly available for days before being removed from the website,” the attorney wrote in a letter to the White House, the Government Publishing Office, the National Archives, and Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), who chaired the now-disbanded committee. “Perhaps most troubling and outrageous is the fact that each of you had an opportunity and obligation to prevent the wrongful disclosure.

“Governor Noem and her family are now at a very high risk of identity theft and being personally compromised.”

The letter also notes that failure to protect this information is a violation of federal privacy law.

The attorney further demanded more information about how the breach occurred, who should be held responsible, and what actions are to be taken to remedy the breach.

Also among those whose information was exposed are three members of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet, as well as prominent Republicans such as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

“Whether it was a careless and sloppy handling of records or a deliberate disregard of decorum, either scenario is a perfunctory and callous display of government and a frightening reminder of the current state in Washington,” Carson told the Post. “President [Ronald] Reagan was a savant indeed—the nine most frightening words to hear are, ‘I am from the government and here to help.’”
