Early May Grateful Dead Open

Let’s take a step back.

The trees are green, the land is warming, we can’t let it rain anymore because the ground is sponge. In the North East of the US, finally we don’t have to scrape the windows of our cars from ice. I hate that sound. It’s depressing…then comes the 38F and rain…pneumonia and arthritis weather. A walk out on the morning dew today, yes.

Time to put in the gardens in, say a prayer to St Stephen, and Let It Grow. It’s the best of times.

Way back in 1977, this band called the Grateful Dead went on a tour. Well, they trouped along and ended up in Cornell U in NY on the night of the 8th of May, 1977. So, my friends…things happened…it is agreed by us boring Deadheads that this passage of May to June 77 was a seriously special time; their roadies are on record of being in amazement. They were DEAD on. Their music can be very unapproachable from a casual non Dead-Head point of view. However. Those of you who arent familiar. please listen.

Say ‘5 8 77’ to a Deadhead and they will nod, and then discuss how much better the show was two days prior or a few days after. At that point we are dancing on the head of a pin, and yinz ain’t angels n’at. The tunes they do from Merle Haggard Marty Robbins are perfect.

I’ll leave yins to go yinztube the shows if yinz want, It’s really great stuff.. I’ve got the heavy vinyl of 5/8/77 playing on a u turn deck, grado gold, into the monster: Mitsubishi DA-P10–>DA-A10 (the two capacitors will kill you on discharge)–>4x B&O redline 140s and and an onkyo (oddly enough) powered sub accompanied by a nice Davidoff cigar and a 1942 Don Julio tequila.

i’m gonna hit balls and be CC for the next few days (see the documentary ‘Caddyshack’)

I like this cat a lot. no commercial stuff by mentioning him

    A food subject.

Just got a grocery delivery from Walmart. I must say,

FIVE STARS to the delivery person!!!!!!

One of the items was an 18 pack of eggs and only one was smashed.

Delivery person did a lot better than I usually manage.

    LOL

Also USCIS have a real sense of humour.

Ya all don’t know who that is do you? Citizens have such an easy life.

Anyway it is United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Had an application to renew my Green Card being processed. Been checking in every week or so and the status of my application was saying ” six weeks until a decision” then ” four weeks until a decision ” then last week ” one week until a decision ”

Fucking exciting shit, like a count down to an Apollo mission!

Nail bighting, heart pounding and waiting…..

    Checked in today, status is.

Your next milestone: receive your case decision.

    LIKE JUST TELL ME!!!!!!

They are making me wait until the mail man gets it here?

Anyway, whichever way it goes, I ain’t worried. Deportation hearings in Texas have a two and a half year backlog. So kicking me out will take a while.

    But wait! There is more!

    Houston is a sanctuary city……

Ya’ll stuck with me. And my cats.

This current discussion about E-Verify is weird.

Like it is something new. It is not. Us Immigrants are used to it.

What is it? Well to get a job you just need to provide a SSN and your Alien ID number and Voila!!!! ( actually just the Alien ID , an Alien does not always have a SSN, an ITIN works, as in regards to a foreign student visa etc )

The system tells an employer if you are authorised to work in the USA.

So, I fully support severe jail time to anyone who employs an illegal.

But you are all going to scream ” what if I give Jose Cuervo $50 a week cash to mow my lawn? I do not deserve to go to jail for employing casual labour without knowing his immigration status!!!! ”

There is an answer to that. ALL USA taxpayers when they file taxes can withhold taxes from a casual employee and report it and pay it on their behalf.

I may be rambling but, if every time you get your grass cut you pay Jose $50 cash and report that on your tax return and pay the federal tax on that $50 you are in the clear.

Simples, getting your grass cut by an illegal will not get you in the shit, not with the IRS and they are the nasty ones.

Latest outrage on local news in Texas is a neo-nazi killing eight people in a mass shooting.

    An Hispanic neo-nazi.

Back in the 1940s there were certain requirements to be a nazi.

    Not any more it seems.

    Now anyone can be one!!!!

When I woke up, scratched my nuts, made coffee and then went to the BBC main news site to look at British news the number one story was about some Trump person having to pay $5 million to someone he did not rape.

Best unbiased news site out there is Aljazeera and a close second RT news.

    Sad but true….

A review of a TV show on Amazon.

    Person Of Interest.

It is OK, it bumbles along. Machine acting stupid, all the good guys try not to kill anyone but instead they shoot the bad guys in the kneecaps.

As required for my viewing enjoyment several hot chicks were a requirement.

One main hot chick character disappeared mid season four and came back, all be it in a limited roll half way through season five.

    Why??????

The story line was she was captured and held prisoner, but I wanted to know more!

LOL congratulations Aahoo Jahansouzshahi also known professionally as Sarah Shahi who was the character Sameen Shaw onPerson of Interest.

She took a break from the show to have a baby. Actually twins. Diffcult to be a kicking ass crime fighting bitch when you have a belly the size of a record breaking pumpkin I suppose.

That is my TV show review for this week.

I spent the day in the yard with the guy we hired to help with the yard. Which I have had ripped out, put sod down, had the cement sidewalk jackhammered out and replaced with paving stones – I can’t TELL you. Anyhoo I learned a lot. So somehow I’ve ended up ordering praying mantis eggs and live lady bugs.

Don’t get me started on the ‘side’ wild flower garden I put in. There is a cherry tree that is near. The birds eat the seeds, poop in the garden and now I have cherry trees growing in my wild flower garden.

    Round Up. Little bastards.

But the grass is gorgeous, the roses and wisteria are thriving and there is SO much color!

I had some of the Lenten roses under the Japanese Maple transplanted to form a wreath under the the bases of the Crepe myrtle trees, it’s going to be beautiful.

    And I am out

Cheques …. CHEQUES (AKA Checks) We don’t want your stinking cheques.Nobody has used cheques in Oz or NZ for years and years. All that writing them out and mailing them in using ‘snail mail’? Direct Debit, autopay credit card arrangements, bank card payments, debit card auto-payments …. barter even ! 🙂

Just had a call from my concrete man Phil!

There is a patch of 5 fine days about to break out. We were all getting webbed feet from the rain , flooding, dampness, and even the thunder and lightning last night! OVER IT!

So 3.5 cubic metres of concrete is about to put down at 1030 Friday (tomorrow here). AT LAST.

That’ll offset all of the concrete you’ve just had torn up! Balance comes back to the world!

    I will look into that

Anywhoo, I just stopped by to report a disasterous ruling by SCOTUS. California – which produces no pork to speak of – has a reg that requires pigs be put in crates which allows them to turn around. Well, if you know anything about pigs they eat their babies which is why their crates are large enough to let the babies nurse but mom can’t turn around and eat them. Pork producers sued, it went to SCOTUS and SCOTUS ruled in Calif’s favor. Gorsuch wrote the opinion.

    Say goodbye to bacon.

Always keep a ‘hard copy’ paper trail …. just in case.

Taxes filed by my accountant and automatically. I don’t know a soul who doesn’t use electronics either DD or a specific automatic monthly payment for regular bills but I always get them to send me the invoices electronically., and print out a paper copy as a ‘belt and Braces’ exercise …as I said …. just in case!

Did a $130,000 charity collection for Veterans for one specific branch association and virtually NOBODY had even a dollar on them.Admittedly we were at a supermarket (one in 5 in our patch that we plunder annually on our patch). Maybe 1 in 10 was carrying cash other than change. I usually carry $20-60 in notes but I am an outlier . Almost all payments is vis credit or debit cards or ‘hole in the wall’ bank cards. Nobody goes anywhere near a bank these days and you just use a cash card to get dollars from stores (usually supermarkets or garages or shops)who are only too glad to give you cash as well if you’re buying stuff from them, as a way of minimising the level of cash they are holding and managing. I know how the system in the US works as we did 5 postings to LA back in the day. It was antiquated and ancient doing business with banks. The only outfit worse than US banks is Italian banks! They are unbelievably crazy and inefficient.

I’ve had my doubts about some of the people you see holding signs asking for help, but one I saw last night proved a fraud.

A woman had a sign that read ‘Migrant, 3 kids, need help’.

When I got up by her, she said in perfect, un accented English “Good evening, sir!”.

Back on PC, Malwarebytes found nothing and as usual Windows Defender and Malwarebytes fought like rats in a sack.

When you are scanning a PC open Task Manager and watch the fight!

Anti virus software scans a file/program/yo mama when you access that file.

So, Malwarebytes opens a file to scan it and Windows Defender dives in and scans it before it lets Malwarebytes open it. OK so far so good.

But when Windows Defender springs into action to open a file before it lets Malwarebytes open it, well you guessed what happens next!

Malwarebytes sees a program, in this case Windows Defender is trying to open a file so Malwarebytes intercepts that request and scans it first before allowing Windows Defender opens it and scans it .

I just let them get at it and have a beer and use my phone instead.

Eventually they both get their shit sorted out.

Also a rant before eating a bacon and mushroom sandwich and an afternoon nap.

A hard drive activity light is a MUST on a computer. That way you can tell if it is either too busy to be bothered to talk to you or it is dead.

Current laptop has a power connected LED and a Charging LED

Fucking useless. Have to put my beer down, bend over and rest my ear on the keyboard to listen for those tell tale hard drive head seeking noises to make sure it is still alive.

Modern laptops have SSD as in solid state, no motors doing spinny rotating things and heads thrusting in and out across the disk surfaces.

    YEP! another good indication!

Back in the day when I worked on real computers where a 256Mb hard drive weighed in at a quarter of a ton you could tell what the machine was doing just by laying a hand on the hard drive!

( being serious here, in the good old days hard drives had defects on the media. And they developed over time. One of the things the hard drive controller would do is to retract the heads back to track 0 and re seek to the track where the data was and try again. Several times, and you could hear and feel it. )

Hey fun times!!!! The CDC 9766 was the most awesome hard disk drive in that era to work on.

The noise when it started up and the belt slipped a couple of times doing the ” whoop whoop ” noise is something I will never forget!

To clarify, whoop whoop was normal. Anymore than two whoops means the belt is slipping and you has to hit the power and re check the drive belt tension.

Then they asked where the other person was, Mrs coldwarrior came down the steps and just laughed. She then said, in deadpan Russian accent, ‘I don’t remember calling police.’

The cops looked around, separated us, etc…the call was for next door, I asked them what address they had. Ah. Well…then a Christmas tree flew out of the bay window next door. I nodded toward that event and said, perhaps, next door?

On a totally different topic why do lady police persons who have blue eyes and very long blond hair wear a baseball cap and let their very long and grabbable hair hang out of the back!

I guess when in police academy when training to be a fighter grabbing hair was not allowed.

Girl, you are on the street now. Either tuck all that hair under your hat or shave your head.

Just a suggestion from a concerned citizen.

    Unfortunately yes!

    the Don’ts include…
    NOT being born first.
NOT being born as a twin … you have a 50:50 chance of surviving
NOT being able to walk by the time you’re 18 months old
NOT being left by your mum with your dad’s friends, while she is out gathering
NOT being born with some physical limitation
NOT being left with anyone who you’re not directly related to up to the age of 4
NOT walking too slowly when gathering with mum
NOT being born in a time of scarcity of food.
NOT accidentally wandering into the ‘neighbours’ patch of hunting land
NOT being born if your mum is currently carrying a sibling
NOT being born a girl as your chances of dying go up by 300%

Other than being put on the local menu you can also get buried alive in soft sand if you are inconvenient

Also stay well clear of your family’s large fire if you are over 50 or walk with a limp, you are considered just protein!

If you are lost in native areas then it’s better being white (because you taste too salty. If you’re Asian then you have a target on your back because you taste like ‘chicken’!

Oh and these rules also apply throughout the Pacific Islands or did within the past few generations.

Don’t be Tongan anywhere near Samoa or especially near Rarotonga Maori (AKA Hawaki). Actually don’t go outside your own home islands for any reason. They don’t call Fiji the Cannibal Islands for no reason …. even if these days the Fijians take great care of your kids whilst you’re sunning your buns on the beach at Nandi. Just a few generations ago that’d be the last you ever saw ‘junior’!

The actual reason why Maori shifted from Rarotonga was the warring neighbours from Samoa and Tonga were tearing up the local neighbourhood and eating each other and generally lowering property values. The Rare Maori shifted from Raro to a quieter country down SW where there were NO neighbours. Then global cooling stranded them in NZ for a few hundred years while they are their way through all of the large birds (AKA Moa). The it warmed up a bit and someone from home (Raro) sent some Kumera (sweet potato that had been traded through Tahiti from Peru. That carbohydrate food explosion caused a huge population boom in NZ, but the weather got dodgy again and the Kumera wars broke out, resulting in massive Pa (earth fort) building and LOTS of cannibalism …. until those bloody whites supplied firearms and …. them tribes with the guns shot and ate the tribes without the guns.

Oh and I forgot to include that mostly the locals were the ones who ate and were eaten by the other natives in the Pacific. They ALL practiced slavery, mostly of women and children to tend the Kumera gardens . Can’t have too many slaves to look after those huge carbonate patches.Good too because as the male slaves got larger you could kill and eat them so that there was a source of protein ‘on the hoof’ so the speak. Most, more southern tribes in the North of NZ, killed and ate Ngapui women as well, because they were ugly.

Yet it’s ‘whitey’ that gets most of the grief when it’s ‘blacked’ who did most of the slaving and the cannibalism. Funny how that part of history gets left out. Especially how 800,000 black slaves were purchased from Muslim traders and black tribals. Of course the 3 million black slaves bound for Brazil seem to have been airbrushed from the historical record as well as the 3 million white slaves purloined by the North African Muslim slavers. Apparently it was finally the newly established United States Marines that stamped out that particular trade …. referring to the Hall of Montezuma and those fraught and dangerous muslim shores of Tripoli …. of song and historical record. I think the Royal Navy also got involved the finally polished off the last of the North African Corsairs who had raided from Ireland along the Cornish coast down the Spanish coast and even along the Italian West coast in their centuries long raiding for European slaves. It was the Muslim Turks who raided and slaved the Italian East coast as well as the Serbian and Croatian coasts for the Janissaries (male children who were trained specifically by the Ottoman Turks as ‘shock troops’ in the Sultan’s military.

MASS FORMATION PSYCHOSIS: Psychologist Breaks Down How Society Descended Into COVID Insanity.

[Belgian clinical psychologist Mattias Desmet] went on to explain that, having met this first condition, the population is afflicted with what he calls “free-floating” anxiety and aggression, by which he means anxiety that does not have a clearly identifiable source. There is nothing in the environment to attach the anxiety to and therefore no obvious solution to remedy it.

That’s when demagogues with a narrative to push — who, in the context of COVID in the West, also happened to enjoy an iron-clad grip on the corporate media — seize on this anxiety to present those suffering with something, or someone, to blame. Those people then seize on the opportunity to, they hope, soothe their anxiety by neutralizing the enemy — which, in this case, was both the virus itself (which justified lockdowns and vax mandates) and anyone who resisted the lockdowns — their fellow countrymen.

The COVIDians found community — something they longed for but had not found in their meaningless jobs or on Twitter or wherever they had been looking — in banding together to defeat the unvaccinated. In this way, otherwise rational human beings — particularly liberal women, who are statistically the most negatively affected by the modern techno-dystopia — are turned into vicious, rabid animals willing to condone the most inhumane treatment of their enemies, weaponized cynically by the social engineers as they are unleashed on the public.

    And the result was this:

    https://instapundit.com/584537/#disqus_thread

I have said for years that the defining characteristic of the lib/prog cohort is that they DESPERATELY need to belong to something that gives the validation they can’t find in themselves. It ALWAYS requires them to find a cohort they can devalue/threaten.

I have no idea how this made it past the number of characters limit, but here you go……….

    this is RFK Jr.

    https://twitter.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1657175672660566016

“The weird thing about the pandemic was this constant involvement by the CIA, the intelligence agencies, and the military. When Operation Warp Speed made its presentation to the FDA committee called VRBPAC. When Warp Speed turned over the organizational charts that were classified at the time, it shocked everybody because it wasn’t HHS, CDC, NIH, FDA, or a public health agency. It was the NSA, a spy agency that was at the top and led Operation Warp Speed.

The vaccines were developed not by Moderna and Pfizer. They were developed by NIH, their own the patents are owned 50% by NIH. Nor were they manufactured by Pfizer, or by Moderna. They were manufactured by military contractors, and basically, Pfizer and Moderna were paid to put their stamps on those vaccines as if they came from the pharmaceutical industry. This was a military project from the beginning.

One of the things I uncovered in my book is 20 different simulations on coronavirus and pandemics. That started in 2001. The first one was right before the anthrax attacks and the CIA sponsored them all. The last one was Event 201 which was in October 2019. And one of the participants was Avril Haines, the former Deputy Director of the CIA, who has been managing coverups her whole life. She did the Guantanamo Bay and others. She is now the Director of National Intelligence which makes her the highest ranking officer at the NSA which managed the pandemic.

So you have a spy who is convening these pandemic simulations and in each of these simulations going back 20 years, they’re not simulating a public health response. They’re not doing things like how do we stockpile Vitamin D. How do we get people outdoors losing weight doing exercise? How do we develop an information grid for all the 15 million front line doctors all over the world so that we can get their information that works and what doesn’t work. We had an incredible opportunity to manage a pandemic in a way that was intelligent and sensitive and devastating to the disease, but we didn’t do any of those things.

It was all about how do you use a pandemic to clam down censorship. How you use it to force lockdowns. By the way, with lockdowns, every pandemic preparedness document that had been adopted by any major public health agencies, whether it was CDC, WHO, European Health Agency, National Health Services of Britain. All of them said you don’t do lockdowns, you quarantine the sick, you protect the vulnerable. And you let everybody else go back to work because a lockdown actually amplifies the impacts of the disease. If you isolate people, it makes them more vulnerable, it breaks down their immune system.”

‘We Were Gobsmacked’: Giant Study Reveals Why Moss Is Vital For The Planet

Sampling mosses from over a hundred sites across eight different ecosystems, Eldridge and colleagues estimated populations of the plant cover a staggering 9.4 million square kilometers in the types of environments surveyed. This is comparable to the size of China or Canada.
    .
    .
these ancient organisms are more simplistic in their structure than their more modern descendents, with sprigs full of tiny leaves, typically just one cell thick. But that doesn’t make them any less mighty.

“Mosses don’t have the plumbing that an ordinary plant has, called a xylem and a phloem, which water moves through,” says Eldridge.

“But moss survives by picking up water from the atmosphere. And some mosses, like the ones in the dry parts of Australia, curl when they get dry, but they don’t die – they live in suspended animation forever. We’ve taken mosses out of a packet after 100 years, squirted them with water and watched them come to life. Their cells don’t disintegrate like ordinary plants do.”

America’s wheat fields have become so plagued by drought that farmers are now poised to abandon crops at the highest rate in more than a century.

Producers are expected to harvest about 67% of their planted acres, the US Department of Agriculture said Friday. If realized, that would be the lowest harvest ratio since 1917, the agency said in a monthly report.

Years of dry conditions on the US Plains have taken their toll on America’s famed fields of grain. Some wheat plants this season were so stunted by a lack of moisture that they won’t produce so-called heads of grain, leaving little reason to harvest them. Farmers can instead file crop-insurance claims for failed acres, or choose to plant something else. Next week, an annual tour in the top wheat-growing state of Kansas will allow analysts to survey fields and make production estimates.

Good morning! Look at these brazen bastards

IRS removes investigative team from Hunter Biden probe in move that whistleblower claims is ‘clearly retaliatory’: source

WASHINGTON — The IRS on Monday removed the “entire investigative team” from its long-running tax fraud probe of first son Hunter Biden in alleged retaliation against the whistleblower who recently contacted Congress to allege a cover-up in the case, The Post has learned.

The purge allegedly was done on the orders of the Justice Department, the whistleblower’s attorneys informed congressional leaders in a letter.

“Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress. He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice,” Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt wrote.

    Well, I’m not saying it’s aliens but……

Denmark’s mystery tremors caused by acoustic waves from unknown source, officials say

A series of minor tremors recorded on the Danish Baltic island of Bornholm Saturday has puzzled scientists, who now say they were caused by “acoustic pressure waves from an unknown source.”

At first the tremors were thought to have been caused by earthquakes. Then, seismologists theorized that they originated from controlled explosions in Poland, more than 140 kilometers (nearly 90 miles) to the south.

On Monday, the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, an official body that monitors the underground, said the tremors were “not caused by earthquakes, but by pressure waves from an event in the atmosphere.” However, they came from “an unknown source.”

I see the DHS is becoming the new Stasi…..

Speaking to The Daily Wire, Mike Benz, the executive director of Foundation For Online Freedom and former deputy assistant for internal communications and information policy for the U.S. State Department, said “that DHS officials planned on creating the videos to encourage citizens to police one another’s personal beliefs and report family members spreading so-called disinformation about COVID or expressing skepticism toward the U.S. government on social media.” Thus, in addition to using other agencies to monitor, harass, and occasionally imprison Americans exercising their first amendment rights, the DHS wanted to mobilize American civilians to help expand their persecution campaign.

Well, what kind of scenarios does the DHS want us to rat on?

You meet up with your friend from college. While you went on to make a career for yourself in HR, she married right after graduation and started her family. You are disturbed by how she has changed over the last 10 years. She has doubts about the 2020 presidential election and Covid vaccines, speaks highly of the Dobbs Supreme Court decision, and refuses to drink Bud Light. She has also become quite religious, attending potlucks and Bible studies, and laments how immoral and unsafe the world has become. You later discover she expresses her dangerous views to a sizable crowd of followers on social media.

You have a few choices on how to respond:

    (1) You cut off all communication with her and report her to federal authorities for spreading misinformation.

    (2) You confront her about the falsehoods and try to correct her in a kind yet firm manner.

    (3) You try to investigate by talking to her husband and children as well as some of her friends.

To continue the topic of a 12oz bag of frozen cauliflower.

So, put it frozen in a bowl, covered with cling film and microwaved it on high for 5 minutes. Then left it and had some beers.

When it was cold sprinkled about two ounces of that dry powdered parmesan cheese on it and stirred well. Waited until cauliflower was cold otherwise parmesan melts and clumps.

Then microwaved it on high for two minutes and had more beers while it went cold.

When cold smushed it all up with one of those stick blenders. Added two eggs and it turned into soupy shit.

Heated a skillet with a drizzle of peanut oil in it to smoking temperature and poured the cauliflower and egg into it.

Anyway it made a thing like an omlette or a pancake that was impossible to turn over. Too wet and it did not solidify. So it ended up looking like bubble and squeak.

    Was fucking awesome!

And if I ever manage to do the keto diet thing again it was 100% keto

    CW, HEADS UP!

City of Pittsburgh preparing for asylum seekers to arrive

PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh is preparing for asylum seekers to come on Greyhound buses.

There’s very limited information on who they are and where they’re coming from.

They’re preparing to give people a safe place here at the convention center.

Pittsburgh police are monitoring the Greyhound bus station and the convention center in preparation for a group of asylum seekers.

“We’ve been working with a variety of agencies to put together a little bit of a welcoming committee so anyone who does come here will have an opportunity to get some rest while they wait for a bus,” said Maria Montano, press secretary for the mayor’s office.

Montano confirmed to Channel 11 that a group of approximately 1,200 was expected to arrive in Pittsburgh sometime this weekend.

These are not asylum seekers being directly brought from the border, which got national attention as the pandemic-era immigration policy called Title 42 ended Thursday.

Gainey’s administration says the group of asylum seekers expected here is coming from a detention facility, but they don’t know which one.

Cara: Do you think some of these asylum seekers might want to call Pittsburgh home?

Montano: Some of them might want to, but I think the vast majority are looking to reconnect with their families and their communities, wherever they might be.

The group will be welcomed into the convention center staffed by volunteers from multiple nonprofits.

Pittsburgh police released this statement saying in part:

“At this point, there is no indication of an immediate influx of asylum seekers, but that could change at any time so the city is in contact with several local partners to ensure it is prepared.”

Those who arrive will be given phones to use, food and drinks.

“We are really proud of Pittsburgh, it is the mayor’s vision to make Pittsburgh the most welcoming city in America, doesn’t matter where you come from or who you are, you are welcome here in the city,” said Montano.

The mayor’s spokesperson says nothing is set up yet inside the convention center.

They’re just waiting for word on when buses could arrive.

    but WAIT..

    So the military is buying…

WASHINGTON— As Army leaders make the rounds on Capitol Hill, they’re carrying a stark message about the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) program: the service’s struggling, would-be heads-up display of the future is on its last chance.

Over the past several years, the Army’s foray with Microsoft into militarizing the HoloLens 2 heads-up display would not be considered smooth. Soldiers have shunned the technology in operational tests due, in part, to software glitches and physical side effects. Despite initial plans to spread the technology across the service, leaders have limited the initial fielding to 10,000 IVAS units while it works with the company to overhaul the hardware’s design.

“If Congress gives us the money that we’ve requested for IVAS in this year’s budget, we are going to use that to work with Microsoft to get the system to a place where our soldiers will want to use it,” Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told Senators on May 2. “And, if Microsoft isn’t able to do that, we will not develop the program further. We’re not going to spend $22 billion on a system if it doesn’t work.”

“You’re just in your basement playing a game, you’re not in combat,” he added.

In 2021, the Army got ahead of itself when it issued a production contract before discovering weeks later that there were problems with the device, and it would have to delay fielding plans from 2021 until 2022 to address hardware and software fixes. Then in mid-2022 it conducted an operational test with the device, a version now known as IVAS 1.0. However, software glitches persisted. Soldiers also continued to complain about the physical side effects of wearing the device (nausea and dizziness) and about the night-vision capability. During hard rain, water leaked into the heads-up display, Denomy confirmed.

Thinking about it if I was to try to poach a stingy jellyfish as soon as I dropped it into the boiling water it would leap out, screaming, and attach itself to my face! Now I know where they got the idea for ” ALIEN ” from! One of the writers once tried to poach a jellyfish…)

‘Brits are dying in their tens of thousands – and we don’t really have any idea why’

Tens of thousands more Brits were dying than expected and experts aren’t quite sure why that is.

From May to December last year, there were 32,441 excess deaths in England and Wales, excluding deaths from Covid.

Excess deaths are defined as the number of people who died above the five-year average – worked out excluding 2020 due to how Covid spiked death figures that year.

This means that over 32,000 Brits would’ve been expected to be alive, but died according to Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures across this period.

These shocking figures raised a number of important questions about what is happening to the country’s populations, how it’s changing, and why so many more people are dying.
    .
    .
But he highlighted two key reasons that could contribute towards spiking excess deaths, the fact Britain’s getting older, and gaining a larger average body-mass index.

REPORT: Hungary Will Block Further EU Aid to Ukraine.

The Hungarian government will veto any further European Union aid to Ukraine or sanctions on Russia, according to the country’s foreign minister, citing Ukrainian “belligerence” towards Budapest.

“It’s fair to say that we’ve had enough,” said Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, speaking in Vienna, Austria on behalf of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, per Bloomberg.

“I want to make clear that as long as Ukraine keeps OTP on its list of international war sponsors, we can’t support decisions requiring new economic and financial sacrifice on the part of the European Union and its member states,” Szijjarto said, referring to Ukraine having put Hungarian lender OTP Bank Nyrt on a blacklist of sorts for doing business in Russia.

“The same goes for sanctions,” Szijjarto added.

Hungary, which borders Ukraine, is also believed to be irate over Washington Post reporting which suggests President Volodymyr Zelensky considered blowing up a pipeline which transfers Russian oil to his NATO neighbor.

New York to Track Residents’ Food Purchases and Place ‘Caps on Meat’ Served by Public Institutions

New York City will begin tracking the carbon footprint of household food consumption and putting caps on how much red meat can be served in public institutions as part of a sweeping initiative to achieve a 33% reduction in carbon emissions from food by 2030.

Mayor Eric Adams and representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Food Policy and Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice announced the new programs last month at a Brooklyn culinary center run by NYC Health + Hospitals, the city’s public healthcare system, just before Earth Day.

Border Patrol agents encountered more than 4,200 illegal migrants from China between October 2022 and February 2023, compared to roughly 1,900 in all of fiscal year 2022, according to CBP data. Some of you may know the actor Jim Caviezal. He played John Reese in Person of Interest, Jesus Christ in Gibson’s Passion of the Christ, etc.

He and some others have put together an indie film Sound of Freedom. It’s about the child trafficking going on via our open borders. It’s called Sound of Freedom.

    Here’s a trailer, 2min 40sec

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-EpJCjSuts

You can get tickets via angel.com/warroom

I got 2 for us for July 4 matinee.

Jim was just on Bannon’s show talking about a screening he went to and at one point during it, a lot of whispered muttering started in the audience and he didn’t understand why. So after the movie was over, he asked and people started yelling at him EPSTEIN ISLAND! EPTSEIN ISLAND!!

over time, I’ve become convinced that this war is spiritual at it’s core.

It was, but I was only on it for about 8 months – got to the point where I thought I’d need a walker. Then the onkydoc switched me over to the FU drug. BIG difference, even easier when that dosage was reduced by 20% last August.

The streets in this town were shaded by hundreds of them. And then came the rot. All of them, hundreds, cut down.

I could walk from my house to my 4th grade girlfriend’s house, 6 blocks, under the shade of Dutch elm. We fired buckeyes at each other for fun.

95 year old dementia patient in a Rest Home was TASERED by a New South Wales Senior Police constable with 12 years experience. The woman armed with a serrated edge steak knife from the Rest home’s kitchen had isolated herself in an examination room. Rest Home staff called Police when she refused to come out of the room. Two hours later two cops arrived and opened the door of the examination room. They talked for a few minutes asking the woman to drop the knife and surrender to them to be handcuffed. She refused, and very slowly moved towards the two armed police using her walking frame. The senior cop told her to drop the steak knife and when she didn’t TASERED this 95 year old 5’2″ woman holding onto her walking frame. She collapsed and hit her head on the way down, badly fracturing her head and causing a massive brain bleed. She remained where she fell while emergency medical staff were called. That took another hour. She is in critical condition and is expected to die. Homicide detectives are investigating!
The Assistant Commissioner of Police in the NSW Southern region just finished a ‘word salad’ that was full of extreme PC bullshit but not much other information. He had a terrible affliction of continually licking his lips and looking furtive like a rabbit caught in headlights. Looks as if the NSW Police are due for yet another Royal Commission to assess their criminality in what is an appalling over reach of their statutory powers.

A 5’2″ 95 year old woman with dementia using a walking frame carrying a steak knife and very slowly shuffling towards two large armed Police. Seriously?

I’m from a Police family and this revolts us all! This is power emboldened cops acting way outside the limits of the law in a corrupted PC environment. The whole East coast of Australia’s State Police have suffered Royal Commissions of enquiry over the past 30 years and nothing seems to have changed for the better. Victoria Police are the worst be far and are totally corrupted and extremely Fascistic( especially in their suppression of citizens during extreme Covid lockdowns). The NSW police have been corruptible for the past 200 years and Queensland Police are renown as a bunch of thugs with badges.

This is disgusting and a slap in the face to all of the good cops doing their jobs as best they can. Senior Police are where the rot begins. Who in hell are recruiting Australian cops and what are they being taught? A fish rots from the head!

How do quantum particles exchange information? An intriguing hypothesis regarding quantum information has recently been validated through experimental verification conducted at TU Wien.

If you were to randomly pick an individual from a crowd who stands remarkably taller than the average, it’s quite likely that this person will also surpass the average weight. This is because, statistically, knowledge about one variable often gives us some insight into another.

Quantum physics takes these correlations to another level, establishing even more potent connections between disparate quantities: distinct particles or segments of a vast quantum system can “share” a specific amount of information. This intriguing theoretical premise suggests that the calculation of this “mutual information” is surprisingly not influenced by the system’s overall volume, but only by its surface.

This surprising result has been confirmed experimentally at the TU Wien and published in Nature Physics. Theoretical input to the experiment and its interpretation came from the Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik in Garching, FU Berlin, ETH Zürich, and New York University.

ok, somebody read the whole thing and explain it to me please

Strange community I live in. I know several people here, mostly when I walk to the store every day.

Mostly the conversations are ” Hola ” or bumping fists as we cross paths. I don’t speak Spanish and not many speak English.

Anyway, the story. Went to the store today and outside was a lady who I do not know her name but when I saw her a couple of days ago she said it was her 49th birthday so I offered to by her a cake! She chose a beer instead. Don’t blame her, it was a hot day and convenience store dried up cake sucks…

I also have another friend, Nikkie, That is her street name. She told me her real name that the police and FBI refer to her is Nichole. LOL my street name and my FBI known name are the same. Kind of a Green Card requirement but I digress…

Well the story. At the store saw the birthday lady and she asked me of I heard about what happened to Nikkie a few nights ago. I had not.

Turns out Nikkie was sleeping near an ATM that robbers tried to rob! I actually did not know she lived rough.

    Then Nikkie showed up!

I said ” I heard you had some problem with an ATM the other night. ”

She said, ” Yep, and if I had a gun I would have shot the motherfuckers! ”

My friend Nikkie is African American, 5 foot nothing and weighs 70 pounds at best!

But all here have a strong sense of community. They hate illegals and kind of look after each other.

    oh wonderful………..

The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously in a delinquent taxpayer case that it is lawful for the IRS to secretly summons the bank records of third parties.

In other words, the nation’s highest court recognized that the Internal Revenue Service is not required to notify third parties who are not under investigation when seeking a summons for banking records thought to be relevant to the tax delinquency of another person.

One lawyer who briefed the Supreme Court said the new ruling gives the IRS “startlingly broad authority to pry into the financial records of people who may be only remotely connected to a delinquent taxpayer.”

The ruling, a victory for the Biden administration, came after the administration’s attempts to strengthen IRS enforcement efforts became an issue in the midterm congressional elections

Jeffrey Epstein Threatened to Expose Bill Gates’ 2010 Affair with Russian Bridge Player

New evidence has emerged that suggests Jeffrey Epstein was threatening to expose Bill Gates’s affair and was demanding favors from the Microsoft co-founder in return for keeping the secret.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Epstein tried to blackmail Gates after learning about an affair he had with a young woman.

Epstein learned that Gates had an affair with a Russian bridge player in 2010.

When Gates shot down a donation request from Epstein, the sex trafficker sent him an email reminding the Microsoft boss what he knew.

According to The Wall Street Journal: “The Microsoft co-founder met the woman around 2010 when she was in her 20s.

“Epstein met her in 2013 and later paid for her to attend software coding school.

Yeah I think everyone is right and the compressor is gone. I did all the different cleaning and troubleshooting I could find online and nothing worked. According to the troubleshooter the only two possibilities are bad compressor or low coolant and a leak.

If you have ice on the suction line your compressor is compressing and you have refrigerant in the system.

In the house part there is a thingy that looks like a small car radiator that the air flows over. That should be icy cold to the touch. Do NOT use your tongue to test it!

It really sounds like you have no air flow over it. Without knowing bugger all about your system is there a summer/winter baffle that changes the airflow from going over the heating coils to over the AC coils?

Also you said earlier4 you had condensation dripping from duct work. Is that the duct supplying the house or the return air duct?

If it is the return air duct that is dripping then the blower is running backwards.

Totally unrelated but kind of on topic as a strange phenomenon happens here to me on cool nights.

I go to bed, it is usually hot but during the nights gets cooler. I sleep on my side, and start off with no blankets on me.

One of the cats has decided in order to keep at the optimum cat temperature of 100F I am a great source of warmth so he has started ” spooning ” me. That is OK, we are all friends here!

We both drift off into the arms of Morpheus. All is good.

I do not know if anyone has ever watched a sleeping cat. First they lie totally still, hardly breathing, immobile. Then when in a deep sleep the wild jungle cat dreams start. First the twitching, then the full blown chasing an antelope across the savanna and bring it down by leaping up and grabbing its throat!

Yep, when the front claws come out and embed themselves in the back of my neck and the rear claws end up kicking and stabbing my ass we have to re-think the sleeping arrangement!

Poor Glen, when I wake him up he looks at me like ” What did I do? ”

Cats are assholes, cute but assholes.
