I just had to email my senator’s office and tell her to shit or get off the pot . She put some lame msg on X saying she will be ‘evaluating’ all the candidates for Sen maj leader and will vote for whoever best supports Trump. Yet she couldn’t say ‘Rick Scott’.

    @ eaglesoars:

The amount they spent on celebrities was amazing. They reportedly spent $20 million in the last week of the campaign on celebrity appearances. Oprah was paid $1 million for that “interview” she did. Beyonce, Lizzo and Springsteen each got a couple million for 5 minute appearances.

I seriously doubt that any of the celebrities who appeared at Trump rallies were paid anything, nor were Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr, Elon Musk, etc. They may have had their travel expenses covered, but that’s it.

Preliminary results of the egg taste test.

There are no results yet. Walmart grocery order delivered, fresh Italian sausage, 5.09lbs pork loin roast, two cartons of chicken broth, taco seasoning, alfredo sauce, 4 bags frozen cauliflower, 2 bags frozen Brussels sprouts, butter and a 32oz jar of peanuts. All high fat, high protein and low carb foods.

    Oh, eggs!

Ordered an 18 pack of regular Walmart eggs and a 12 pack of Eggland eggs. That is where phase one of the taste test failed miserably.

They were out of eggland eggs so the shopper substituted a 12 pack of ordinary Walmart eggs instead. No complaint there, they fulfilled my order and an egg is an egg right!

So, going to have to wait a couple of weeks before I try the experiment again.

    ( minimum grocery order is $35 )

Mrs. and I were out setting a few things up on the patio. I went up to the garage to bring our fire pit down. When I got back, Mrs. was holding a Siamese kitten, maybe 3 months or so old, who’d been sleeping on a mop I had drying in the walkout. Poor thing was VERY hungry and dirty.

    @ Possum:
Five pounds of pork loin roast!

Yep, it is currently $1.97 per pound and is the cheapest meat available at the moment. Plus as it is marbled with fat then they cannot trim all the fat off it. See my previous rants about cuts of meat being over trimmed. Fat is tasty!

If I lived next to CW I would sneak onto his property and using stealth insert my pork into his smoker for 12 hrs or so.

Alas that will not happen. A chunk will end up in the tiny slow cooker with onions and chicken broth, another chunk will be seasoned with onion powder and sage and wrapped in foil and Mr Airfryer will deal with it.

That leaves a big chunk that some of it will be sliced into 1/4 inch thickness and flash fried in a skillet with coconut oil. Served with bean sprouts and Teriyaki sauce.

The rest of it will be placed in a one gallon ziplock bag with an ample dose of chicken broth and frozen. Hence the chicken broth on the order. It is cheap and prevents freezer burn.

Don’t ask what I am going to do with the Italian sausage…

OK I give in. A rissole is an individual sized chunk of what Americans call meatloaf, but it is not cooked as a big loaf it is shaped like a hamburger patty and fried in a skillet or grilled.

Instead of 3 hours at 350F to bake a loaf of meat loaf it is 7 minutes then flipped and another 7 minutes in a skillet.

A hybrid cross between a meat burger and a veggie burger.

What’s the definition of insanity again?

They’re not planning to, at least for now: Progressive Democrats push to take over party leadership.

Progressive Democrats are pushing to take over the party leadership as in-fighting breaks out following Kamala Harris’s election defeat.

Left-wingers are hoping to install Ben Wikler, the Wisconsin Democratic chairman, to take over the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and swing it away from the current centrist leadership ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Pramila Jayapal, who leads the Democrats’ progressive faction in Congress, has said she would “love to see somebody” who is “like a Ben Wikler”, Politico reports.

Her intervention may mean Left-wing Democrats swing behind Mr Wikler, who is seen as an effective fundraiser and has been credited with reviving his party’s fortunes in Wisconsin, if he launches a bid for the position.

It comes as Democrats battle over how to rebuild their party following Donald Trump’s election victory on Tuesday night.

Different factions of the party are openly feuding with each other in the aftermath of Ms Harris’s defeat, amid claims that the vice-president failed to appeal to working-class voters.

Bernie Sanders, the veteran Vermont senator, has argued that the next Democratic campaign should be based on a more Left-wing economic message.

The quest for a tasty egg continues.

Eggland not only sells eggs but also sells feed for backyard chickens! So possibly the enriched eggs as relative to regular eggs is a result of the food the chickens eat and not a genetic selection and breeding of the actual hens that lay the better eggs.

Walmart sells Eggland chicken food in 40lbs bags. A healthy food that produces tasty eggs.

    Ingredients
Corn, Wheat, Ground Soybeans, Soybean Meal, Milo, Oats, Wheat Middlings, Calcium Carbonate, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Flaxseed, Peas, Canola Oil, Monocalcium and Dicalcium Phosphate, Defluorinated Phosphate, Dried Corn Distiller’s Grains with Solubles, Salt, DL-Methionine Hydroxy Analog, DL-Methionine, L-Threonine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Choline Chloride, Dried Kelp, Extracted Citric Acid Presscake, Vitamin E Supplement, Manganese Sulfate, Manganese Amino Acid Complex, Zinc Sulfate, Zinc Amino Acid Complex, Tagetes (Aztec Marigold) Meal (Color), Ferrous Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Selenium Yeast, Sodium Selenite, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Basic Copper Chloride, Copper Amino Acid Complex, Cobalt Glucoheptonate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vegetable Oil, Dehydrated Pediococcus acidilacticii Fermentation Product, Dehydrated Bifidobacterium animalis Fermentation Product, Dehydrated Lactobacillus reuteri Fermentation Product, Dehydrated Enterococcus faecium Fermentation Product, Inulin, Diatomaceous Earth, Rice Mill By-Product, Copper Sulfate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Iodate, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Menadione Nicotinamide Bisulfite, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Dried Aspergillus niger Fermentation Product, Dried Penicillium foriculosum Fermentation Product, Dehydrated Yeast Culture, Dried Bacillus subtilis Fermentation Product, Dried Bacillus licheniformis Fermentation Product, Dried Trichoderma reesei Fermentation Extract, Propionic Acid (a preservative), Lignin Sulfonate, and Ethoxyquin (a preservative).

I think I will skip the step of feeding this to a chicken so it can poop out an egg per day, in fact raising chickens in my apartment may cause problems with the other residents in my home.

Why not just eat the chicken food? It seems to have everything in it.

    Yes, I am bored.

Looked up some of the ingredients of that chicken food. I will not bore you with all my findings as you all have lives.

Anyway, what makes an egg look more appetizing is a nice deep yellow yolk. That is an indicator of goodness and the nutritious and healthy look of a pasture raised and farm fresh egg.

Tagetes (Aztec Marigold) Meal (Color). Now it is important that things are added to food, even chicken food, so that the chicken likes the look of their food and eats it.

Wrong, the Aztec Marigold is bright yellow, and that colouring is passed through the chicken and into the yolk.

So, feed a chicken yellow dye and you get yellow yolks.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagetes_erecta

The dried flower petals, ground to a powder, are used in poultry feed to ensure a good colouration of egg yolks

I want a chicken! Going to feed it purple food colouring and see what pops out!

    @ Possum:
    For anyone slightly interested.

To withdraw money from a UK pension to be deposited into a US bank account is not easy the first time. We did a trial run of 100 GBP a while ago. Just to start the paperwork with UK taxes.

Until a non-UK resident tax code is approved any withdrawal is taxed at 40% before it leaves the UK. Regardless of where it goes. So basically any money I transfer from the UK already is minus 40%. I will get that back in April 2025, end of UK tax year.

Once money arrives in the US I have to declare it as income and will be taxed accordingly. That seems fair, even though I am bringing wealth into the US economy.

The UK tax refund will be regarded as income when I get it in April 2025 and will have to be declared on my 2025 US taxes.

So, basically over 60% of any money I get from my pension is gone in taxes, granted I get a lot of that tax money back.

Which leaves me enough money for rent, cat food and beer. Life is good.

REPORT: Trump has inherited a “turd of an economy,” and when things “roll over,” he’ll be the one blamed for it.

This dire news comes from COVID vaccine data analyst and former BlackRock asset manager Edward Dowd.

Dowd predicts things could “unravel anytime between now and March.” And if the incoming Trump administration doesn’t “get out in front of the narrative,” then they are “going to get blamed for what is coming.”

According to Dowd, America should have already entered a recession by “the second half of 2023.” However, “The government went on a spending spree… which gave the economy a bit more life.”

“The real economy (not the stock market) has been rolling over,” Dowd lamented, “and we’re just waiting for the financial markets to figure this out. They will. And when they do, unfortunately, Trump will inherit turd of a financial market crisis.”

The other big problem, Down warned, is that Trump also needs to get ahead of the COVID “vaccine” disaster.

The death and disability numbers are not looking good. Listen to the full report for more details.

    This is a fun thread

Twenty utterly random ideas for the next SecDef:

    1. Restore the West Point motto to “Duty, Honor, Country.”

    2. No women on submarines. Put 19 year olds in close quarters under water and they are making babies in the head.

    3. Two PT tests per year. One is just to be in uniform and everyone takes it. The other is MOS-specific. There can be different gender standards for the first one. The other one is gender neutral. Don’t pass the first one? Chaptered. Don’t pass the second one? Reclas.

    4. Pledge of allegiance every morning in resident professional development courses.

    5. Tabasco back in MREs.

    6. Fort Bragg is Fort Bragg.

    7. Keep the A-10, but buy a bunch more of AT-802U Sky Wardens too.

    8. Create a 25 year program to build back the fast sealift USNS fleet.

    9. No more “months” to celebrate driving wedges based on skin color, ethnicity or genitalia. One team, one fight no matter where you came from or what you look like.

    10. Create a family readiness group MOS—officer and NCO. Spouses all have jobs and they gotta feed the kids when Dad/Mom is deployed. Have professionals who know how to run a rear det at battalion level and above.

    11. Give the Marines back their tanks and artillery.

    12. Focus anti-drone tech on killing the drone operators through SIGINT and integrated fires.

    13. Creamed chip beef mandatory in every chow hall and ship for breakfast.

    14. Any weapon system in development for more than 5 years is cancelled.

    15. If a retired flag officer sits on the board of directors or board of advisors of a defense contractor, they permanently forfeit their pension.

    16. Acquisition Corps officers have a lifetime ban on working for a defense contractor.

    17. Space Force gets to wear their iPhones on their dress uniform belt like tricorders.

    18. Black berets again for the 75th Rangers.

    19. Ask everyone who comes into your office looking for money “How does this improve warfighting lethality?”

    20. Demonstrated combat effectiveness the #1 criteria for all officer and NCO promotions.

I have a lot of ideas and I couldn’t sleep.

Oh and a bonus one: JCS PT tests and weigh-ins run by randomly selected E-7s from tactical units.

Still have half a can of bean sprouts, Italian sausage, a bag of cooked cauliflower, found a chunk of tuna but its chain of evidence as to when it was thawed, cooked and ended up in the fridge is dubious, a lot of slow cooked pork and a nice lady delivered fresh bread, a five liter box of Cabernet and a 30 pack of beer.

And that my friends is why in the age of electronics and artificial Intelligence you must NEVER trust the machines. Stanislav Petrov was a hero, he saved the planet because he did not trust electronics and machines.

I know who he was, do you?

Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov (Russian: Станисла́в Евгра́фович Петро́в; 7 September 1939 – 19 May 2017) was a lieutenant colonel of the Soviet Air Defence Forces who played a key role in the 1983 Soviet nuclear false alarm incident.[1] On 26 September 1983, three weeks after the Soviet military had shot down Korean Air Lines Flight 007, Petrov was the duty officer at the command center for the Oko nuclear early-warning system when the system reported that a missile had been launched from the United States, followed by up to four more. Petrov judged the reports to be a false alarm.[2]

His subsequent decision to disobey orders, against Soviet military protocol,[3] is credited with having prevented an erroneous retaliatory nuclear attack on the United States and its NATO allies that would have likely resulted in a large-scale nuclear war. An investigation later confirmed that the Soviet satellite warning system had indeed malfunctioned. Because of his decision not to launch a retaliatory nuclear strike amid this incident, Petrov is often credited as having “saved the world”.[4][5][6]

However it is now the 15th November, a new day! But I have not had supper yet and still have a 240 calorie mug of wine that I recorded as drunk yesterday. So! starting the day as having not eaten or drunk anything.

Pelosi sets stage for 2026 reelection run to return as Trump antagonist

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has filed for reelection in 2026, setting the stage to once again become a key anti-Trump force.

The 84-year-old filed a statement of candidacy Thursday with the Federal Election Commission after winning a 20th term last week. A spokesperson for Pelosi declined to say whether she is running for reelection, but the paperwork is an early indication of her intentions.

Trump’s reelection could have had a role in persuading her to stay in office, according to reporting from the San Francisco Chronicle. On a House Democratic Caucus call following the election, Pelosi suggested Democrats replicate the work of a group created during the last Trump administration that focused on defending the Affordable Care Act.

In a New York Times interview after the election, Pelosi did not answer directly whether this term would be her last but indicated that she intends to continue to be a fighting force.

“I’m not here to talk about that,” Pelosi told the New York Times. “I’m here to fight the fight so that we win in the next election. I must have thought I had the last term over and over again, but as fate would have it, the mission called.”

The Federal Election Commission, which sets rules for election campaign spending, requires the “Statement of Candidacy” form when candidates raise or spend $5,000 in an election cycle. Pelosi, a consummate fundraiser who brought in more than $8.3 million in her 2024 reelection, would have hit the threshold already for the 2026 election cycle to trigger the filing.

Yeah, I know, counting illegals would be like herding cats.

But knowing how many people live in an area is vital for planning as to local infrastructure.

Example, schools, the children of illegals get education. Rightly or wrongly it happens.

How can a school district plan when the number of children potentially attending school is unknown.

Wasserman Schultz said, “Tulsi Gabbard is someone who has met with war criminals, violated the Department of State’s guidance, and secretly, clandestinely, went to Syria and met with Assad, who gassed and attacked his own people with chemical weapons. She’s considered to be, essentially, by most assessments, a Russian asset. And would be the most dangerous –.”

Host José Díaz-Balart cut in to ask, “Is that how you consider her? Is that what you consider her?”

Wasserman Schultz answered, “Oh, yes. There’s no question, I consider her someone who is likely a Russian asset, who would be, as the DNI, responsible for managing our entire intelligence community, hold all of our most significant intelligence information and secrets, and, essentially, would be a direct line to our enemies.”

    – Approximately 186,000 homeless people
    – Gavin Newsom lost $27 billion allocated for the homeless
    – $27 billion / 186,000 homeless =$145,161 per person

    Ok things just got… Interesting.

The entire Hamas leadership has left Qatar and is now in Turkey.

I’ll remind you, Turkey is a member of NATO.

If Israel takes out a Hamas leader on Turkish soil, theoretically, that can be an attack on a NATO country and would require by Article 5 of NATO that the US defend it.

Will Israel not do anything and let the entire Hamas leadership stay in Turkey safely? I don’t see that happening.

So if Israel does attack and eliminate someone on Turkish soil, and Turkey calls on NATO to defend it, what happens next?

This is some apocalyptic stuff. Very end of days vibe.

How does trump entering office change any of this? Will he kick Turkey out? Will it be too late by then?

    How does this play out?

Yeah, but before they did it by sneaking up on the terrorists and disposing of the targets by clandestine means.

Latest method of eliminating enemies of Israel is to bomb the shit out of buildings they think terrorists are hiding in with not a lot of regard for civilian casualties.

James Bond, 007, eliminated many of the bad guys, but I don’t think he ever called in an air strike on a heavily populated city.

    This is heartbreaking.

“Hygiene Poverty”: The Brutal Reality of Life in Net Zero Britain

    ———

In some ways it is worse today than it was in the late 1800s during Queen Victoria’s reign. At least the Victorian poor were allowed to burn scrap wood for warmth. Most homes in Victorian times had some kind of fireplace or hearth where people could burn wood or whatever else they could get their hands on to stay warm.

In today’s Britain, even if you have a fireplace, only expensive low sulphur smokeless fuel is permitted since a 2020 crackdown on burning firewood in urban areas. In any case, people who can barely afford electricity are unlikely to be living in a home with a safe fireplace. Lightning a fire in a hovel with a cracked and crumbling fireplace and chimney is unlikely to end well for anyone concerned.

Blackpool, which was quoted in the article above, has a thriving prostitution industry. While Blackpool tries to portray itself as a family friendly holiday destination, and a lot of families do visit and enjoy the seaside amenities of Blackpool, if you leave your hotel at night, you may find the streets filled with a very different crowd. It is not difficult to understand why people in impossible circumstances sell themselves to try to give their kids at least some of the necessities of life, or stop borderline criminal debt collectors from battering their door, trying to collect on the desperate high interest payday loans which have consumed their income. But with family home heating bills exceeding £3000 / year (US $3700 / year) for a one bedroom flat in some of the poorest quality properties, and all the competition from other desperate Britons, along with economic refugees from Germany’s train wreck economy and other financially stricken parts of Europe, that occasional Saturday night some mums and dads spend turning tricks to boost the family income likely just covers the heating bills and other basic necessities.

The saddest part of this for me is it is all so unnecessary. Blackpool is in Lancashire, which has one of Britain’s largest reserves of frackable gas. Test wells have been drilled which prove the viability of the reserve. But nobody is allowed to extract the gas, because Britain is committed to Nut Zero.

Pennsylvania Democrats openly admit to counting illegal ballots in McCormick-Casey race

As the contested Pennsylvania Senate race barrels towards a $1 million recount, Democratic officials in a few blue counties are openly admitting to counting disqualified ballots in defiance of state law and court orders.

The Associated Press has called the race for Republican Sen.-elect Dave McCormick, who currently holds a 26,000 vote lead over incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey. But Casey has refused to concede and insisted that every vote be counted. The close margin – within one percentage point – triggered an automatic recount under Pennsylvania law.

Yet the critical question is which votes should be counted? The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled before the election that mail ballots lacking formally required signatures or dates should not be included in official results. However, Democratic officials in Philadelphia and surrounding Bucks, Centre and Montgomery counties are ignoring that court order.

“I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country,” Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia, a Democrat, said Thursday as she and other Democrats voted to reject a GOP-led challenge to ballots that should be disqualified.

Tonight supper may very end up been fed to Mr Toilet but if you don’t try and fail many times then you never great a masterpiece.

Pasta with alfredo sauce, even Mac and cheese. Awesome! but high in carbs…

Onions have a surprisingly relatively high carbohydrate an an onion is a food store for the following year’s growth, much like a potato.

So, tonight experiment is something that looks like spaghetti or linguini or fettuccini bathed in an alfredo and Italian sausage sauce but is not pasta but onions.

Take a medium size onion, cut it in half then slice it into 3-4mm slices ( just under 1/4 inch for you non-metric people )

Add the onions to a hot skillet with 28g coconut oil ( one ounce ) and keep stirring to brown the onions but not cook them into a mush.

Reduce heat to low and cover. To cook onions and also not turn them into French onion soup.

When it is time to eat, serve the fake spaghetti AKA onions, on a plate and top with Alfredo and Italian sausage.

Or just throw them away and have a cheese sandwich and a can of Campbells chicken soup…

    hmmm………..

Before FEMA instructed its staff to deny hurricane relief to Trump supporters, the agency bribed a grieving father to shut up about his son’s COVID vaccine death.

Seven months after Ernesto Ramirez Jr. died from vaccine-induced myocarditis, FEMA shamelessly offered his father financial support if he changed the official cause of his son’s death to COVID.

Ernest Sr. firmly responded, “I would never do that. I would definitely never disrespect my son in that way.”

Despite his clear refusal, FEMA persisted in trying to bribe him a second time.

Once again, Ernest Sr. stood his ground, saying, “No, I won’t do that. I’m not gonna lie on a government document for blood money.”

Ernesto Ramirez Jr., described as “the best son a father could ask for,” was just 16 years old when he tragically died within five days after receiving the Pfizer shot in April 2021.

    His father, Ernest Sr. (
    @rgvrunner01

    And a boring post.

Climate control computers in pig and chicken and turkey raising places are quite complicated to program.

Baby piggies need warmth when they are babies but as they grow older they need less supplemental heat. You program a growth curve into the controller that gradually on a day to day basis reduces the heating.

Same with chickens and turkeys, as day old chicks you need about 98F in there, as they grow that temp is reduced as they grow more feathers…

Control computer takes a shit and you have to know how old the piggies or chickens are to re-calibrate new controller.

However, if a controller does not take a fatal shit but forgets what day it is on the curve then there is serious loss of life.

    here we go

Guido pointed out last week that the plethora of reports calling for Agricultural Property Relief annd other “loopholes” on farms to be scrapped were actually written by one man. Arun Advani, director of CenTax, is aided by co-director Andy Summers in pushing for higher taxes across the board. The Treasury admitted to Guido last week that Advani’s research was the intellectual basis of the farm tax…

Last month, in a definitive report on Inheritance Tax for his think tank, Advani states that the cap for Agricultural and Business relief for farms should be set at a miniscule combined £500,000. Half of the measly sum the government has set it at…

In order to prevent excessive fragmentation of farms as a result of that cap, which would reduce productivity, Advani advocates for “the state taking part-ownership of land and becoming the landlord to tenant farmers.” That farmland which went above the cap would presumably be expropriated and rented back to the previous farm owner. Perhaps they could be formed into some kind of large ‘collective’ farms?

To counter-act risks to food security from these extreme measures the farm tax’s architect says state subsidies should be directed towards “specific activities desired e.g. farming particular produce” as a “more appropriate way to ensure that the desired goals were being delivered.” Meanwhile, other gobsmacking proposals include removing IHT relief for funeral expenses and relief on bequests to charities, because that “effectively redirects tax revenues towards the charitable preferences of a very small number of people.” Pure planned-economy thinking…

The Treasury has already admitted Advani’s research has guided it on the farm tax as it currently exists. These proposals could give a taste of things to come, especially if farmers put up too much of a fuss. Things can always get worse…

Per the New York Times, democracy forward is planning the Trump resistance. They have 800 lawyers at 280 organizations, 600 priority legal threats identified and dozens of lawsuits already prepared.

This project to stop Trump is called Democracy 2025. They have spent the last two years working on this.

They have been preparing legislation to challenge every single regulation Donald Trump put forward and they are currently currently in the process of interviewing plaintiffs that will have legal standing.

Prominent members involved in this little project are Marc Elias and Ron Klein, former Chief of Staff to Biden.

    A boring health post.

Sunday I started to feel unwell. Sore throat and a cough and head full of snot, Monday and Tuesday I felt like shit. It is Wednesday now and I am felling a bit better, I think red wine alcohol kills infections.

Coincidentally, Sunday Natasha developed a cough. Monday and Tuesday she did not eat much and was first into the bed and last out.

Today in the last couple of hours Natasha is active again, eating and going outside to hunt mice.

Was she reflecting what I was doing? Cats are strange. Look on social media for videos of cats limping when their friends have a broken leg. Or cats brought up with dressage horses.

I do not know, did she give me cat flu or did I give her human flu?

Or is Natasha faking it, in sympathy?

    That came up negative.

However, I have some tests left. Should I test Natasha? It involves sticking a swab up her nose, rotating it five times then sticking it up her other nostril and doing the same to get a sample.

I know what the result will be. When the 911 people arrive then tell them I am A+

Only ate half of it, and that was a struggle. It did not taste of anything.
