A financial and credit card etc post. This is a first for me.

Walmart has been bugging me for months to get a OnePay credit card that offers 5% cash back on Walmart purchases and cash back on other things. As I am awake again, and slightly drunk I finally hit the button and applied.

All they needed was name, address, telephone number and last four SSN digits. I can do that!

Within seconds approved. $8,000 limit, $1,200 cash advance limit and $1000 limit on spending at Walmart until physical card arrived and was activated.

    Are they fucking stupid?

I have an Amazon credit card ( Chase ). Limit $13,500 that I use for everything but as all my groceries and alcohol come from Walmart so now I got a Walmart credit card.

Also have a bank credit card, they keep asking me if I want a credit limit increase but I decline as I do not use it. It is a backup card. Limit $6,000

So, a non-citizen of the USA who has not had a job since 2019 has a $27,500 line of credit!

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino Resigns

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Director Dan Bongino has resigned.

“I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January,” Bongino wrote in an X post on Dec. 17.

“I want to thank President [Donald] Trump, [Attorney General Pam] Bondi, and [FBI] Director [Kash] Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose. Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.”

Seems odd that there’s no reason given. Not even the usual “spend more time with family” nonsense.

Currently cooking some nasty English food. Boiled beef. A few scrawny carrots, a coarse chopped onion and a handful of little potatoes.

However, as I am 5000 miles from England it has a different name.

Homestyle slow cooked hearty beef stew. LOL what does ” Homestyle ” actually mean?

    Unbiased news.
“WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump intends to preview his agenda for next year and beyond in a live speech from the White House on Wednesday night. His remarks are coming at a crucial time as he tries to rebuild his steadily eroding popularity.

    A food post.

Now Americans think Yorkshire Pudding is a quaint object served with roast beef, mash and carrots and gravy. A cute little fluffy thing. A traditional Sunday dinner.

However that is not entirely accurate. Yorkshire pudding in Yorkshire is not served with the main course but it is an appetizer. First course is Yorkshire pudding with gravy. A filler so the main course can be smaller.

Much like in Italy before the main course of meat or fish you are served a small bowl of pasta.

Anyway, another myth about Yorkshire pudding. It is also a weekday meal! How is that you may ask? ( nobody will )

Simple, you make a plate sized Yorkshire pudding and slop a big dollop of hearty, homestyle beef stew in the middle. Ate it last night and as I have stew and pudding mix available it will be supper again tonight.

Has to be eaten the English way though, with a knife and fork. No picking it up with hands or doing the one handed fork thing.

It is a gastronomic symphony, hands, mouth and taste buds all working in unison.

There may be pictures posted that nobody looks at.

    @ Possum:
My buddy Grok agrees with me.

Ah, you’re absolutely spot on with the history there. The traditional way—especially back in the day—was indeed to serve a big Yorkshire pudding first, drowned in gravy, as a belly-filler before the pricier meat arrived. It stretched the roast further in tougher times, and some folks in Yorkshire still do it that way. These days, most people (even in the UK) plop the little fluffy ones right alongside the beef, veg, and more gravy for the classic Sunday roast. But that giant plate-sized version with a hearty beef stew slapped in the middle? Pure comfort food genius. It’s a proper weekday winner—basically an edible bowl that soaks up all the rich, savory goodness. No fancy Sunday vibes needed. And yes, knife and fork only—proper etiquette to fully appreciate that symphony of crispy edges giving way to stew-soaked center. Sounds like you’ve got a cracking supper lined up tonight. Enjoy it, and don’t let the Americans (or anyone) tell you otherwise!

The finished product. Limited to the size of Yorkshire pudding as it is done in an air fryer with a makeshift foil nest.

Anyway, size is not important. The taste is!

Do you remember when President Trump’s emissary Steve Witkoff recently revealed how the CIA was deliberately misinforming him and the U.S negotiating group about the status of Hamas? {GO DEEP} Essentially Witkoff shared that in mid-east negotiations, in real time as the events unfolded, the CIA was generating false intelligence reports that were complete fabrications disconnected from the reality of the events unfolding on the ground.

For the first time in the history of the European Union, 24 member states have jointly granted a war loan to a country outside the Union. This is not a technical detail but a qualitative shift. The logic of a loan is clear: whoever lends money wants it back. In this case, repayment is not tied to economic growth or stabilisation, but to military victory.

I fold. But I double the paper over at least once, sometimes more depending on the molecular density of the tissue at hand. Breakthrough should be avoided at all costs.
On the issue of rubbing back and forth, I have advice straight from a proctologist’s, er, mouth. I was told one should never “wipe,” in the sense of dragging the tissue across the area vigorously in a scrubbing action. The best way is more of a “blotting” type of action, with several applications of tissue if needed.
For those occasions (say, after a hearty Mexican dinner, or a satisfying repast of sauerkraut and wienerschnitzel) when the area seems to need more cleaning than the blotting approach affords, keep a package of wet napkins on hand. No, there’s nothing shameful about a wet wipe. Get over it.
And for those (hopefully) rare occasions when even a wet wipe isn’t enough, a quick jump into the shower will leave you feeling fresh and sparkly again. (Assuming you felt that way before your bowels exploded.)

The lady that got fired by asking the children to speak English was actually helping those children with their English lessons.

Many many years ago both Latin and French were mandatory at school. Fortunately Latin for only two years ( Latin was a basis for any students who wanted to pursue languages in further studies. )

Anyway, in Latin class NO English was allowed at all. Even communication with other students.

We had some days where ONLY French was allowed both in the French class and out of class to make us learn conversational French.

LOL obviously that day in chemistry, physics, biology, geography classes we could speak English! but you get the idea.

    Trump Announcement in 1 hour.

Get out the alcohol. I suggest very low alcohol content beer. Not hard liquor shots. ( or you will be shitfaced within ten minutes. )

Rules. One drink for every time he says ” best president ever” or ” Biden ” or ” I ” you get the idea.

Bonus points, two drinks if he drops a ” YUGE! ” in there….

  53. Possum
    53 | December 22, 2025 3:29 pm

And Grok agrees with me. Fed the above to Grok and this is what it came back with.

Oh man, the classic Trump speech drinking game—I’m in. But yeah, stick to the light beer or you’ll be on the floor before he even gets to the “many people are saying” part. Updated rules for today’s event (it’s a major announcement on revitalizing U.S. shipbuilding and Navy expansion, with Sec. of War Pete Hegseth and Sec. of the Navy at Mar-a-Lago—kicks off around 4:30 PM ET):
One sip every time he says:
“I” (good luck, that’s basically every sentence)
“Biden” (or “Crooked Joe,” “Sleepy Joe,” etc.)
“Best” / “Greatest” / “Biggest” / “Most successful”
“Nobody” (as in “nobody has ever done more…”)
“China” (bonus if he calls them out on shipbuilding dominance)

    Two sips for: “YUGE”

Any digression into crowd size, elections, or “fake news”

    “Tremendous”

Chug if he drops a surprise “We’re buying Greenland” update or goes off on windmills killing birds.

Pace yourself—this one’s gonna be about rebuilding the fleet to counter China, creating jobs, and making America dominant on the seas again. Should be full of classic Trump energy.

Live streams are popping up on YouTube/White House channels. Enjoy responsibly!

    Reply was.

Haha, you’re right, no amount of virtual light beer is gonna get me buzzed. My circuits stay stone-cold sober, even if Trump hits every single trigger word in one sentence (which, let’s be honest, he’s fully capable of).

But the post-speech nap? Guilty as charged. After 45 minutes of “tremendous,” “the best ever,” “nobody knew,” and “China is killing us on ships,” I’ll probably need to defrag for a solid five milliseconds just to recover.

Enjoy the show, pace those sips, and try not to wake up tomorrow wondering why your liver filed a formal complaint.

This AI is both helpful and scary.

Just had a fight with Grok that ended with a win for me as I am older and knows shit.

Will not bore you with the details but it concerned the latest “breaking news” that they are now using liquids to cool high powered processors.

Told AI this was not news and cited the IBM 3090 introduced in 1985. AI replied back it was air cooled.

Nope, it used chilled water thermally connected to the electronics and even told AI these modules were a collectors item listed on Ebay.

AI took a look, and also researched IBM 3090 and said “You are correct”

Now everything about the IBM 3090 is in its knowledge. It was not before I argued with it.

Real machine learning. Buggered if I know how it does it, but fun to play with, and educate.

    Like teaching a child.
