Allen West: Israel owes Turkey no Apologies

LTC Allen West is not known to mince words in regards to the conflict with Islamic nations. He tells Israelis that they have no need to apologize to Turkey.

Israel owes no apology to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident, and should not have issued any type of apology to Egypt over the killing of three security officers there, outspoken US Congressman Allen West (RFlorida) said in an interview with The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

West, 50, a Tea Party-associated freshman congressman from South Florida already being touted as a possible presidential candidate in the future, is in the country with a delegation of 27 Republican congressmen. He spent 22 years in the US military, including fighting in the First Gulf War and in Iraq, and retired with the rank of lieutenant- colonel.

“Not only does Israel not owe Turkey an apology, but I think the fact that [Defense Minister] Ehud Barak apologized for the [killing of] three Egyptian soldiers before we knew the circumstances of their deaths are the types of things that get played out in the international media that end up making you being castigated as the bad guy,” West said.

LTC. Allen West is spot on. Never ever apologize to Islamic nations. They view it as a sign of weakness. It’s time for Israel to stand up for itself.

NUTS!

The Florida executive director of CAIR recently sent a letter to Congressman Allen West (R-Kick-Ass) requesting that Mr. West disassociate himself from several individuals that CAIR considers to be “anti-islamic”. The Congressman promptly replied with a one word response; “NUTS”. This incident is delightful on several levels. First, it’s another reminder that Allen West is the real deal and there’s not a PC bone in his soldier’s body. Second, the reaction by the stupid press who (A) had no understanding of the one word reply and (B) would actually admit it in writing and on video. Even the people interviewed on the street were clueless as to the meaning of “NUTS”, which is arguably the most storied one word kiss-off in the history of kiss-offs. Now in all fairness, I’ve got to give the muzz a pass on their ignorance as I wouldn’t expect your run-of-the-mill mooselimb to have any knowledge of the Americans’ heroic stand at Bastogne during WWII.

Hamze says he wrote to the Republican Congressman earlier this month with his concerns about the Congressman’s relationships with groups and people Hamze considers to be anti-Islamic.

“When I first saw that, I wasn’t sure if he was calling me nuts, or he was calling my concerns nuts,” said Hamze.

Constituents in West’s district 22 are just now reading the letter.

“It doesn’t look too professional to me. It doesn’t look thought out,” said one constituent named Chuck.

Simone Oliver, another district 22 constituent thinks it’s fine, but says it needs a little more.

“Maybe another sentence, explaining,” she said.

West has not fully explained his position, but in other letters to CAIR Florida, he has said he is neither anti-Islamic nor anti-Muslim.

Then CBS4 News discovered that during World War II, General Anthony McAuliffe famously wrote a one-word letter to the Germans in response to a surrender ultimatum. The word used: “Nuts!”

US H.R. 2587: Pushback Against Job-Killing NLRB

From Rep. Allen West’s weekly email update

Upcoming Week

– Protecting Jobs from Government – The House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2587, the Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act. The bill would prohibit the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from ordering an employer to restore or reinstate any work or employee, or from requiring investment in a particular plant or facility. The bill is in response to a complaint filed in April of this year by the NLRB against the Boeing Company for its decision to locate a production facility in South Carolina, a “right-to-work” state. The NLRB is seeking to force the company to keep its production in Washington, where the workforce is unionized. Regarding the bill, House Education and Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) said “Republicans refuse to allow federal bureaucrats to reverse the business decisions of employers. The Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act takes a critical step to provide employers with the certainty they need to put Americans back to work, right here at home.”

Rep. West: No New Tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood

Filed under Egypt, Headlines, Israel, Muslim Brotherhood at July 20th, 2011 - 5:20 pm

Once again, Rep. Allen West shows that he has a better grasp of the reality of the Middle East than anyone in the Obama Administration:

In a letter to Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon on Monday, West wrote:

“It has come to my attention that the Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress on July 1, 2011 of a possible foreign military sale to the government of Egypt for 125 M1A1 Abrams tank kits for coproduction and associated weapons, equipment, parts, training and logistical support.

“One of the greatest threats to Egyptian stability, as well as to regional stability, is the growing prospect of a new Egyptian government under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood. If given control of the country, the Muslim Brotherhood would nominate its own candidates and turn Egypt into a radical Islamic state.

“America must continue to stand with the Egyptian people and encourage them to build their own democracy with new political parties and freedoms. However, we must exercise caution with regard to military sales and support to the Egyptian government until a government is formed absent of the radical elements of the Muslim Brotherhood that will maintain active peace with Israel,” stated West, R-Plantation.

“As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I strongly oppose any military sales of any kind to the government of Egypt as long as the Muslim Brotherhood remains active in the political process. Doing so would seriously jeopardize the safety and security of the state of Israel. The last thing I want to see is Egyptian M1A1 tanks rolling through the Sinai toward Jerusalem.”

Maybe we can send them to the Libyan “rebels,” instead.
