The Iranians continue to have a hostile attitude towards Obama. He does everything to please them, just shy of giving them control over America. It doesn’t matter they sit back and laugh at his weakness.
TEHRAN, Iran(AP) – Iran played down President Barack Obama’s new video message to the Iranian people on Friday, saying it welcomed the overtures but warned that decades of mistrust can’t easily be erased. Obama released the video to coincide with the major Iranian festival of Nowruz, a 12-day holiday that marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of the new year in Iran. In the video, which has Farsi subtitles, Obama said the U.S. is prepared to end the strained relations if Tehran tones down its combative rhetoric.
Oh well the Community Organizer in Chief just doesn’t get it. The Iranian regime is an enemy. This proves Obama grew up in an isolated bubble. Anyone with common sense knows that you can’t speak to religious nuts.
Although Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi, a member of Iran’s Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution, made these statements months ago, they were finally translated this week by MEMRI. I am sure the international mainstream media would have been all over it, but they were too busy reporting on Obama’s NCAA picks, and Jay Leno appearance.
It seems that despite the West falling all over itself to find new ways to change, and surrender to Islamists, the Islamists are unimpressed with our peace gestures, and our so-called diplomacy.

The Iranian official’s function is to help export the Islamic Revolution and act against Western influence and feminism.
He stated in one speech, “The corrupt Pope went on a tour in order to cover up the homosexuality of his priests. As you know, he made a tour from America to Australia, saying: ‘We are sorry that our priests are pedophiles and homosexuals.’ … He paid three billion dollars in compensation to families whose little children were abused by priests in churches. But nobody sees what the pope himself does in the Vatican. It’s not clear who should apologize for the pope’s deeds.”
In another speech, he took aim at the U.S., stating its values are “sex, violence and melancholy.” We do not want to coexist with America. We want to combat America – not just America, but Zionism, England, and the leaders of global capitalism, who are exploiting the Muslims and the oppressed throughout the world,” said Azghadi.
He also claimed that the U.S. suffered almost no casualties in World War II because it entered in the final stages, although historians estimate the number of American casualties to have been between 300,000-400,000.
“In the many films about World War II, which you must have seen, the main characters are always American or English, and each of these characters kills 2,000 or 3,000 Germans singlehanded,” he declared. “They produce hundreds or thousands of films about operations that never took place, heroic feats they never accomplished, and sacrifices they never made. They are highly skilled in this.”
It is interesting how similar the complaints of Iranian Islamists (who openly state it is their goal to destroy America, and The West), are to the “progressives” within the West. Can we call them unpatriotic yet, or are the Iranian Islamists hyper-patriotic because of this “dissent”? It is all so confusing.

*UPDATE* (11:10 a.m. pst 3/20/09)
It seems that President Obama hasn’t quite gotten the message about Iran. During his message to Iranians world wide in celebration of Nowruz (Iranian New Year) Obama blindly continues his naive policy of hope over wisdom and gushes at the feet of those who chant “Death to America”.
The Obama Administration has decided that the U.S. will participate in the United Nations’ Durban Review Conference, commonly called “Durban II”. Insofar that “Durban I” was nothing more than an open forum for blatant Antisemitism, and Racism, U.S. participation in “Durban II” must be strongly opposed.
President Obama’s decision to send a U.S. delegation to the planning sessions for Durban II is an extremely disturbing change in American foreign policy regarding Israel. Like the original Durban conference in 2001, the upcoming conference is based on a document which is specifically anti-Israel. In speaking about racism, xenophobia, and discrimination, the ‘Durban Declaration and Program of Action’ which lays the framework for Durban II, names only Israel as an offender against human rights. The preparatory committee for Durban II is being chaired by Libya, with Iran and Cuba as vice-chairs. Durban II is based on a document that falsely targets the democratic State of Israel without mentioning real instances of human rights abuses in the dictatorships of Asia, Africa or the Middle East.
It is not possible for U.S. participation in this conference to mitigate the anti-Israel hatred the conference is designed to produce. So far, the U.S. delegation to the planning sessions has remained silent while additional anti-Israel language was added to the conference document. When the Palestinian delegation offered language that called for international protection of the Palestinian people (ostensibly against Israeli racism) and for implementation – as an international legal obligation – of the biased and ungrounded advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice against Israel’s security fence, the U.S. delegation reportedly raised no objection, allowing the language to go through to the final conference without debate.
It is worth remembering that in 2001, when the U.S. withdrew from the first Durban conference, Secretary of State Colin Powell expressed clearly the nature of the conference and why it was unthinkable for the U.S. to participate: ”I know that you do not combat racism by conferences that produce declarations containing hateful language, some of which is a throwback to the days of ‘Zionism equals racism;’ or supports the idea that we have made too much of the Holocaust; or suggests that apartheid exists in Israel; or that singles out only one country in the world-Israel-for censure and abuse.”
The U.S. showed moral clarity and stood by our ally Israel by boycotting the 2001 conference when it became clear that Durban I had degenerated into a hate-fest against Israel, Jews, and the West. This second conference will be no different. Britain, Italy and other countries are watching closely how the U.S. responds. The United States should join Israel and Canada in refusing to participate in the Durban II conference this coming April.
Contact the White House and your representatives in the U.S. House and Senate to demand that the U.S. withdraw from participation in the Durban II conference.
Obama to ‘Open Channel of Communication’with Hamas
“Incoming U.S. President Barack Obama plans to open a “channel of communication” with the Hamas terrorist organization when he takes office on January 20, according to British newspaper the Guardian.
According to three sources “close to the transition team,” Obama was unlikely to approve direct talks with Hamas initially. However, reported the Guardian, Obama “is being urged by advisers to initiate low-level or clandestine approaches, and there is growing recognition in Washington that the policy of ostracizing Hamas is counterproductive. A tested course would be to start contacts through Hamas and the US intelligence services, similar to the secret process through which the US engaged with the PLO in the 1970s. Israel did not become aware of the contacts until much later.”
Steve Clemons, director of the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation, said frankly that “The total isolation of Hamas that we promulgated under Bush is going to end.”
Clemons added that the Obama team would most likely consider a multilateral approach that involves secret envoys talking simultaneously with various parties. “I think it is going to happen.”
Hamas is officially listed by the U.S. State Department as a terrorist organization, and the Congress in 2006 legally banned any funding to the group.”
It is still my policy to withold judgment about our President-Elect until Barack H Obama actually gets into office, but things like this are really beginning to worry me.
