Marion Barry Dead at 78

A Legendary Crooked Politician, synonymous with Washington, DC and Cocaine, passes. And here I thought the cereal was named after him!

WASHINGTON — Former District of Columbia Mayor Marion Barry, whose four terms were overshadowed by his 1990 arrest after being caught on videotape smoking crack cocaine, died Sunday morning. He was 78.
Barry’s family said in statement that he died shortly after midnight Sunday at the United Medical Center, after having been released from Howard University Hospital the previous day. He had battled kidney problems stemming from diabetes and high blood pressure and underwent a kidney transplant in February 2009.
The statement said Barry’s family requested that their privacy be respected, and further details would be forthcoming.

Cocaine found in Secret Service Hotel Rooms

The Secret Service scandal just got even worse. According to reports, the hotel staff found cocaine in the hotel rooms of the agents.

The Secret Service sure knows how to party.

Cocaine and several bottles of whiskey apparently fueled the elite agents’ boneheaded fling with about 20 hookers at a posh hotel in Cartagena, Colombia, a hotel staffer told The Post.

The employee responded to the trashed room with police and other Hotel El Caribe workers when one prostitute raised hell after a Secret Service member initially refused to pay her.

“When I went upstairs I walked into a messy room. The room was littered with two whiskey bottles — and a line of white powder, I believed to be cocaine, was on top of a round glass table in the room,” the staffer told The Post.

The average American would be thrown in jail for having even a gram of coke. Yet these agents get to snort coke without consequences. This is government hypocrisy at full view.

Mumbai Terrorists Hopped Up?

British tabloid The Mirror has a curious report that says the Mumbai terrorists were hopped up on cocaine and LSD.

The Mumbai terrorists may have pumped themselves full of drugs to keep going during their murderous three-day rampage.

Indian police sources say tests on the bodies of dead Islamic fanatics revealed traces of stimulant drugs.

One said: “We found injections containing traces of cocaine and LSD left behind by the terrorists and later found drugs in their blood. There was also evidence of steroids, which isn’t uncommon in terrorists. These men were all toned, suggesting they had been doing some heavy training for the attacks. This explains why they managed to battle the commandos for over 50 hours with no food or sleep.”

The source said one gunman is thought to have injected himself with large doses of stimulant so he could keep on fighting after he was seriously wounded.

I’m skeptical about this. Cocaine, not out of the question. Steroids, sure. But LSD? A powerful hallucinogen seems like a terrible choice of drugs when going on a terrorist massacre spree. Somebody in the Indian police is pulling The Mirror’s leg.
