Majority of Americans oppose a Gun ban

Progressives have attempted to take advantage of the Newton massacre. Obama and his cronies have used anti-gun rhetoric. But the reality is that it was just talk. A new poll shows a majority of Americans oppose a ban on Handguns and the so called “assault” weapons.

Although this same Gallup poll shows that a majority favor new guns laws, this is an abstract question. Gun Control is not a winning issue and the Democrats know this. Only if the Republicans show signs of “compromise’ aka caving in, will the Obama Regime attempt to pass new laws.

Both parties would be playing with fire with they attempt any gun control measure.

ATF Gunrunning Scandal Gets More Interesting

by Iron Fist ( 2 Comments › )

This is huge, if it is true:

Mystery surrounds the ATF Gunwalker scandal. Who authorized the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ stingless sting operation that allowed, indeed enabled thousands of U.S. guns to flow to Mexican drug cartels? Why is the Obama administration stonewalling the Congressional investigation of Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious? What else are they hiding? And here’s another one: why has Mexican President Felipe Calderon remained on the sidelines of this story, continuing to cozy-up to President Obama when it’s clear that Uncle Sam supplied weapons to the narco-terrorists plaguing his country? Well, it looks like we might have an answer…

[snip]

Anabel Hernández has made quite the charge: the Sinaloa cartel has bought the Mexican government lock, stock and Calderon. What’s more, the DEA knows about the corruption and plays ball with Calderon to catch other cartels, giving the Sinaloas a pass. Which would account for Calderon’s lack of indignation on the whole Gunwalker deal.

This could blow up big, and not only in the halls of Congress . . .

Read the whole thing. It makse sense. You’d think Fillipe Calderone would be apoplectic about the Gunwalker scandal, but you hear nothing but crickets from South of the Border on it. And this would mean that some people in the ATF are bought, too. Shocka…

Lets talk guns.

Blogmocracy in Action!
Guest post by: father_of_10!

Macker and I planned a great little even in the desert outside of Tucson Arizona. We invited any and all of the Blogmocracy Netizens to join us for a shoot ’em up using different types of targets. The preferred targets to be little green footballs.

Not that I have anything against little green footballs. I don’t. I see them victims of a much larger conspiracy. An evil multi-continent conspiracy of epic jazz proportions that sucked in even the most circumspect skeptics among us like gordon, I mean nodrog. LGF drew me in back in 2004 and I thought it was great . . . Obama was elected and the chuckster morphed. Soon the blogger started thinning his herd. He banned the best and the brightest and alas, even I was banned during the Glenn Beck vs Van Jones the Commie episodes when I dared suggest to the pony-tailed blogger that he seemed to have a “jones” on for Beck. I guess it is true that the truth will set you free because no sooner had I posted that truth I was set free from the ne’er do well jazz guitarist’s blog. I found out i was just one of well over a thousand seemingly normal, well-adjusted and thoughtful people that just didn’t seem to fit in there anymore. Oh well. We all seemed to have survived surprisingly well, and when that ol’ bikin’ blogger suggested to some others that if they didn’t like his blog they should start their own . . . they did. the result has been nothing short of wonderful. An all-accepting blog that even lets vermin shoe-scrapings like spacecheese do drive-by turd-drop posts (of course, he’s probably just a sock puppet, ya know).

But back to the subject at hand. Macker and I like to shoot guns. I have a few and they get lonely if they are not going boom-boom once in a while. Macker saw a little green football at Target the other day and thought: Wow! What a great target that would make! Macker and his sweet wife had lunch one day with me and my sweet wife. The sweet wives hit it off and Macker and I came up with the great idea of going out in the desert and shooting the crap out various targets . . . green and pigskin-like.

A date was set Macker posted the invite on Blogmocracy, inviting all and sundry to send us desired targets and inviting anyone along that might want to join us. The response was limited and the weather hasn’t cooperated and so the event is being postponed.

We are looking at May 15, 2010, meeting at my humble little home in Tucson and then heading out to the beautiful southern Arizona desert at about 9:00 AM, setting up and shooting the crap out our poor, innocent little footballs, all the while recording the event digitally for all our progeny and admirers.

Got it? Great! So email Macker or Me (Father_of_10) for the addresses and other information.

Now let’s talk about GUNS!

I just picked up a new little toy. Ruger makes great guns and their most successful of all time is the venerable 10/22. I was out looking for one and had almost decided on the standard 10/22 carbine when I saw this one.

A 22 inch barrel instead of the standard 18″, walnut and checkered stock instead of the plain birch one, and stainless steel. It was only a few dollars more, so I bought it. Then tonight I bought the inexpensive scope and mounted it and then wondered if I should’ve got the blued scope instead of the silver one. Comments on that?

So what kind of guns should we shoot at our targets? What about a Taurus Judge.

This pistol shoots either a .45 Colt or a .410 shotgun load. Perfect for snakes and other vermin. It is enjoyable and rewarding to shoot. I keep mine in a biometric-fingerprint safe next to my bed. Like this one:

OK, so now let’s turn this into an open gun thread. What’ve you got? What is your favorite? Do you have enough ammo?

Have you had a difficult time getting ammo recently? .22 ammo is now available, but it was hard to find last year. Currently I am having a hard time finding .45 Colt (also called .45 Long Colt). Personally, I think guns and ammo are next on the liberal/socialist/pinko-commie agenda. My goal is 10,000 rounds of .22 and thousands of the rest. Mother_of_10 thinks I’m nuts. She doesn’t come intothe pool house, I mean my Man Cave much either.
