Hugo Chavez using his new powers

Totalitarian Progressive, Hugo Chavez, has recently been granted emergency powers by the old Congress before the new one (that has a larger number of opposition) is sworn in. Sound familiar? He is doing what his Socialist compadre and fellow 3rd world liberation ideologue, Barack Hussein Obama, would love to do, redistribute the wealth. Taking advantage of a the rainstorms that has caused floods, he has created a 2.3 billion fund to supposedly assist those effected.

CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez made his first use of new decree powers on Sunday to create a $2.3 billion fund for reconstruction after widespread flooding that left more than 130,000 people homeless.

The South American OPEC member nation’s socialist leader has infuriated opposition parties and been criticized as a dictator for assuming fast-track powers for the next 18 months that will enable him to rule by decree and bypass parliament.

[…]

But critics say the president has cynically exploited the disaster as an excuse to outwit opposition parties who were due to take a larger share of seats — 40 percent — in the incoming National Assembly which convenes on January 5.

In reality, Hugo Chavez will use this fund to enrich himself and his cronies. That’s what Progressives do. They take advantage of disasters and use them for political gain. He also will be able to bypass a less friendly Congress where the opposition made gains.

Barack Hussein Obama wishes he could do this. Then again with elitist Rockefeller Republicans like the useless Mitch McConnell and crybaby metrosexual, John Boehner, he might not need emergency powers like Chavez. The Republican leadership is so weak they will crumble before him.

Tonight I will have a new Hugo Chavez song, were he sings to the flood victims.

Update: The Democratic Party has actively colluded with Chavez’s allies the FARC.

A hard drive recovered from the computer of a killed Colombian guerrilla has offered more insights into the opposition of House Democrats to the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.

A military strike three weeks ago killed Raúl Reyes, No. 2 in command of the FARC, Colombia’s most notorious terrorist group. The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia’s elected and popular government.

The modern Democratic Party is evil.

The Three Clowns: Lindsey Graham, Richard Lugar and Hugo Chavez

What do Dick Lugar, Lindsey Graham and Hugo Chavez have common? All three men are useless clowns.

Ms. Lindsey is Rockefeller Republican who got elected in South Carolina by masquerading as a Conservative. He always seeks to get the love of the Progressives by selling out his own side. The latest example of Ms. Lindsey trying to get the acceptance of the Democrats is his attack on the Tea Party movement. The GOP electoral victory would not have been possible without this Conservative/Libertarian grass roots movement. Rather than praise them for reviving the Republican Party and Conservatism, he warns them to cooperate on decisions.

(CBS) Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., called on freshmen “Tea Party” members to help provide solutions in the next Congress and begin making tough decisions.

Although he praised the newcomers for their ability to shake up the political landscape, he cautioned that the new Congress, when it convenes next year, must not be “just all talk” and be willing to make sacrifices on spending.

Lindsey Graham is lucky he will not be up for re-eelction until 2014. If it was 2012, he would be the top targets of Conservatives.

Dick Lugar (R-Indiana) is another clown who needs to go. He no longer listens to his constituents. He is a Tranzi Republican who puts Global interests ahead of America’s. Conservatives in Indiana are now talking about challenging him. Instead of heeding the wishes of his base, he continues to support Progressive policies.

In Indiana, though, Dick Lugar isn’t tacking right. “It’s almost as if he’s inviting a primary challenge,” one frustrated Beltway Republican said this week as Lugar agitated for the DREAM Act and stood by his earmarks in the omnibus. Lugar’s spokesman told me Friday that the senator had not made up his mind on the omnibus before Democrats pulled it.

“I think he still doesn’t get it,” a conservative Hill staffer told me. One Republican political operative says Lugar’s just been in town so long he’s lost touch with his party. “I don’t think he’s intentionally trying to dare people to run against him. I just think he’s tone-deaf.”

Being undecided on that pork-filled spending bill puts Lugar at the far Left end of the GOP caucus. Spokesman Mark Helmke attributed Lugar’s indecision to his focus on ratifying the START Treaty with Russia, which is a prime target for Sen. Jim DeMint, the champion of insurgent Republicans.

Senator Dick needs to wake up to the fact the era of Compassionate Conservatism AKA. Rockefeller Republicanism is over. The Wilsonian and Tranzi foreign policy model have failed. What the Tea Parties want is Jacksonian and America’s interest above all others. Personally I hope Dick gets challenged and defeated in the 2012 primaries.

Last and most certainly least is our old pal, Hugo Chavez. The Progressive clown of Venezuela is now planning to regulate internet access. This is a way to create a totalitarian regime in the once great nation of Venezuela.

CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez defended plans for a law that would impose broadcast-type regulations on the Internet, saying Sunday that his government should protect citizens against online crimes.

Chavez’s congressional allies are considering extending the “Social Responsibility Law” for broadcast media to the Internet, banning messages that “disrespect public authorities,” “incite or promote hatred” or crimes, or are aimed at creating “anxiety” in the population.

Chavez is a loon who is self destructing and no longer popular in his own country. Clearly he is taking a  page from the Net Neutrality push being done by the Obama regime. They are after all both 3rd World Liberation ideologues.

Clowns like Ms. Lindsey Graham, Dick Lugar and Hugo Chavez should go away. Humanity would be much better off without them in politics.

Is it about time to remove Chavez in Venezuela, as we did Noriega in Panama?

We all know this will never happen with Obungler, unless he’s forced to (kicking and screaming, like the liberal sissy he is) but signs are pointing to the fact, as reported by U.S. federal investigators, that Hugo Chavez is as deeply, if not more, involved in trafficking narcotics not only to the U.S., as Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega was two decades ago, but also to Europe (which Manuel Noriega was never accused of), when President George H.W. Bush decided it was time to remove yet another central American tinpot dictator.

Newsmax has an excellent article about central American drug cartels attempting to buy large aircraft to transport narcotics to Europe.

And what’s the one common denominator in this article, you might ask?

The involvement of narcotic traffickers and criminals from or based in Venezuela, from Columbia and other central American countries.

And since anyone with half a brain knows that virtually nothing happens in Venezuela without the approval of Chavez or his stooges, there’s almost no doubt that they’ve given the green light to conduct this illicit activity.

US: Gangs Buy Jets for Trans-Atlantic Coke Flights

Federal investigators are piecing together details of an audacious new trend in drug smuggling: South American gangs are buying old jets, stuffing them full of cocaine and flying them across the Atlantic to feed Europe’s growing coke habit.

At least three gangs have struck deals to fly drugs to West Africa and from there to Europe, according to U.S. indictments. One trafficker claimed he already had six aircraft flying. Another said he was managing five airplanes. Because there is no radar coverage over the ocean, big planes can cross the Atlantic virtually undetected.

“The sky’s the limit,” one Sierra Leone trafficker boasted to a Drug Enforcement Administration informant, according to court documents.

[…]

In some cases, executive jets have been used, including a Gulfstream II that landed in Guinea-Bissau in 2008 and another Gulfstream seized in 2007 as it tried to depart Venezuela for Sierra Leone.

In the last year, a flurry of arrests has begun shedding light on how the air routes work. The cases are being prosecuted in a New York federal court because some of the cocaine was supposed to have been sent to the United States.

“The quantity of cocaine distributed and the means employed to distribute it were extraordinary,” prosecutors wrote in one case. They warned of a conspiracy to “spread vast quantities of cocaine throughout the world by way of cargo airplanes.”

In some ways it is a throwback to the 1970s and ’80s, when drug pilots flew freely between Colombia and staging areas near the U.S. border, Decker said. Back then, drug lords such as Amado Carrillo, nicknamed The Lord of the Skies, sent jets with as much as 15 tons of cocaine from Colombia to northern Mexico.

Recent U.S. court cases involving trans-Atlantic flights include:

— The Valencia-Arbelaez Organization, broken up by undercover U.S. agents after it bought a $2 million plane to run monthly flights between Venezuela and Guinea. The group claimed to have six aircraft already flying between South America and West Africa.

— A ring based in Colombia and Liberia, arrested after one of its planes was seized in May with two tons of cocaine as it prepared to leave Venezuela. Prosecutors say the group was planning to fly jets twice a month. One defendant claimed to manage five other aircraft making similar hauls.

— Three Sierra Leone men, accused of scouting out airstrips and arranging for a four-ton flight of cocaine from South America in March.

Two other recent cases have involved cocaine and cargo jets, though investigators have not revealed yet whether the flights were going to Africa:

— Francisco Gonzalez Uribe, a Colombian trafficker due to be sentenced this month. Gonzalez Uribe was recorded while trying to purchase large aircraft including a DC-8, a four-engine jet.

— Walid Makled-Garcia, who prosecutors say controlled airstrips in Venezuela used to launch drug flights. Prosecutors say Makled-Garcia was behind one of the biggest drug plane shipments in recent years: a DC-9 that landed in Mexico in 2006 with more than 12,300 pounds of cocaine on board.

All five cases are being prosecuted in a federal court in Manhattan.

Friday Night Drinking Thread with Hugo Chavez

It’s Friday Night and many on the blog are having  a few to chill out. Well what better way than to present the latest song by Hugo Chavez!

He’s back to sing for our entertainment.

I can think of an out of work guitarist Hugo Chavez can use if he starts a band!

Here’s that band performing for Hugo and his buddy fellow progressives, the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales.
