Well our glorious leader, President Hussein Obama, has spoken. He says he is deeply troubled by events in Iran. I bet that will make the protesters feel better. Obama is disturbed. I bet Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollahs are nervous!

Shots fired at huge Iran protest

US President Barack Obama says he is “deeply troubled” by violence in Iran following last week’s disputed presidential elections.

Mr Obama called on Iran’s leaders to respect free speech and the democratic process, and said he would continue pursuing tough dialogue with Iran.

He has thrown the Iranian people under the bus. By stating that he will continue dialogue with the regime, he is green lighting the actions of the Islamists.

Hey Obama, you want dialogue with a regime that does this:

Update: This is a must read by Jennifer Rubin exposing the hypocrisy of the Left.

The Iranian election has given the world a jolt of reality. For those confused about the nature of the Iranian regime, its true colors are now revealed. But it has also been a clarifying event in America.

It has been obvious for some time that the American Left has given up on democracy and human rights as fundamental tenets of American foreign policy. But never before has it been so clear just how ruthless and indifferent they are to the aspirations of those who would be crushed by the boot of despotic regimes. And never before have we seen how Herculean a task it is to deny and obfuscate the nature of these sorts of regimes in order to pursue a policy devoted to stability, engagement, and process as goals in and of themselves (rather than as means to some greater ends).

The events in Iran are exposing the the progressives and their support for Islamo-Fascism for everyone to see. Next time they deny they support Islamists, just point out their actions on the Iran situation.

This is an Open thread we can discuss other topics other than Iran. So feel free to post what you want.

US State Department Refuses to Condemn Iran Vote

The US state Department, which is filled with Islamist sympathizers, once again shows its colors. While the Iranian Security forces are now using violence against the protesters, our government here says nothing.

Gunfire Erupts at Iranian Pro-Reform Protests, At Least 1 Killed

Gunmen fired on Iranian protesters during a massive demonstration over the country’s hotly-disputed election, killing at least one person.

An Associated Press photographer saw one person shot dead and several others who appear seriously wounded in Tehran’s Azadi Square. The shooting came from a compound for volunteer militia linked to Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard

This is the reaction of our useless State Department.

State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters Monday that the United States is concerned about allegations of ballot fraud.

Kelly described the U.S. government as “deeply troubled” by the events in Iran, which is a stronger expression of concern than over the weekend when Vice President Biden cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election.

When pressed by a reporter, Kelly declined to condemn the Iranian security forces for their crackdown on street protesters. And he said the U.S. knows too little about the conduct of the election to say for sure whether there was fraud.

This is a historic event in Iran and our government is supporting the regime? How can we support a regime that stands for everything we are against? We are abandoning the Iranian people to please the Ayatollahs. Clearly, this is just another case of the Islamic-Progressive alliance. If we don’t morally support the Iranian people, most of whom are under 30, they will hate us for decades. The day the Mullah regime crumbles, we should not expect a friendly regime.

Obama clearly is a supporter of Islamo-Fascism. If he wasn’t, he would use the bully pulpit of the American presidency to support the Iranian people. He is not and it shames me as an American that our president is not supporting people wanting to be free. I support the Iranian people and pray they get rid of their regime. I would love to visit Iran and see their historic sites, taste some Shiraz wine and enjoy the view!

Update: This opinion piece is a must read.

The Obama administration’s response to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s fraudulent election victory is cowardly, lily-livered and wrong. The White House’s refusal to officially question the result or even condemn the brutal suppression of opposition protesters, is undermining America’s standing as a global power, and is little more than a face-saving, cynical exercise in appeasement that will all end in tears.

This could not have been said any better.

Religion of Peace strikes hotel in Pakistan

The Islamist darlings of the media and our elite, peacefully struck a hotel in Pakistan today.

Pakistan hotel shattered by blast

A huge blast has partially demolished a luxury hotel in the north-west Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least 11 people and injuring dozens.
Reports suggest gunmen stormed the premises of the five-star Pearl Continental just before the blast, and scenes of chaos are reported outside.

Journalists at the scene say they have seen several injured foreigners.

A series of bombs have hit cities including Peshawar since a government crackdown on Taliban militants.

That peaceful religion called Islam. So peaceful they kill their own people.

Gallup Poll Shows Support for Keeping Gitmo Open

Americans by a 2-1 margin oppose closing Gitmo. This is a blow to the Progressive-Islamist alliance and Obama.

Poll: Most oppose closing Gitmo

WASHINGTON — Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to closing the detention center for suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay and moving some of the detainees to prisons on U.S. soil, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.

By more than 2-1, those surveyed say Guantanamo shouldn’t be closed. By more than 3-1, they oppose moving some of the accused terrorists housed there to prisons in their own states.

The findings underscore the difficult task President Obama faces in convincing those at home that he should follow through on his campaign promise to close the prison in Cuba, especially in the absence of a plan of where the prisoners would go.

This should not even have been an issue.   Hopefully Americans will wake up on other issues as well.  This is a good start.
