“Honey, it’s Mothers’ Day tomorrow. You mind taking care of the kids? I’ve got a lot of laundry piled up and we’re out of clean clothes.”
“No prob, babe. I got this.”

Their original band name (“The Motherf***ers”) was changed to “The Mothers” for obvious reasons. Even that name was too risqué for the record producers, so they became “The Mothers of Invention.” A lot of their stuff was crapola IMO, but after all, they were an experimental band, while other songs were brilliant, especially for the time.
And as for the time, it’s time for all you mothers to enjoy The Overnight Open Thread.
I was originally going to post a couple of Mothers vids (live in France), but then I thought that “Call Any Vegetable” might be misinterpreted. If you want to hear them at their prime, click here and here.
Instead, here’s Jerry Jeff Walker’s classic ode to mothers everywhere.
After you’re done clicking the vids, let’s have a big fat mother of an Overnight Open Thread!
Dear Lord, it’s such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life’s been anything but calm
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where’s the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I see then, in my small one’s face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile
