Taliban gaining in Pakistan

Our “ally” Pakistan is increasingly giving into the Taliban. The Pakistani government has given control of territory just 80 Miles from Islamabad to them.

Pakistan’s extremist triumph

Writing From Lahore, Pakistan — Maulana Sufi Mohammed, a radical cleric who was freed last year after spending six years in jail for leading 10,000 Pashtun tribesmen in opposition to the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, has begun a new campaign. He is leading a peace march through the strategic Swat Valley in an attempt to persuade his son-in-law, Maulana Qazi Fazlullah, to accept the government’s offer of a cease-fire and enforcement of an Islamic system of justice in the valley.

The fact that Mohammed has embraced the government’s offer is a sign of how fully Islamabad has capitulated to the demands of extremists in the region. And the fact that the peace deal has not yet been accepted by Fazlullah, who leads the Swati contingent of the Pakistani Taliban and is closely allied with Al Qaeda, is a sign of how radicalized some of the region has become.

Why do we ally with nations like Pakistan? Instead Obama is giving India the cold shoulder. Why do we continue to slice our own throats?

This is shocking but not a surprise. The US Gov was going in this direction.

While the discussions could fall apart, the government could wind up holding as much as 40% of Citigroup’s common stock. Bank executives hope the stake will be closer to 25%, these people said.

This crisis seems to be an excuse to have total governmnet control of the economy. This happened before, in Argentina. That didn’t turn out too well.

Iran holds enough uranium for bomb

Iran has built up a stockpile of enough enriched uranium for one nuclear bomb, United Nations officials acknowledged on Thursday.

In a development that comes as the Obama administration is drawing up its policy on negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear programme, UN officials said Iran had produced more nuclear material than previously thought.

Iran, the beloved nation of the Left continues to show its true intentions. But the media will find another excuse for this regime.

Hillary who is supposedly a “Hawk” is sure acting like a dove. She is kissing up to the Muslim world. Instead of showing strength, she is displaying weakness.

Clinton Vows to Reach Out to Islamic World

TOKYO, Feb. 17 — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday the Obama administration will make “a concerted effort” to restore the image of the United States in the Islamic world and will seek to “enlist the help of Muslims around the world against the extremists.”

Clinton, who on Wednesday will travel to Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country, told students at Tokyo University that “this is one of the central security challenges we face — as to how to better communicate in a way that gets through the rhetoric and through the demagogy and is heard by people who can make judgments about what we stand for and who we truly are.”

Clinton’s remarks came in response to a question about the “prejudice” in the United States against Muslims because of terrorism, a term she rejected forcefully, pointing to the history of Christians. “I am a Christian,” she said. “Through the centuries we have had many people who have done terrible things in the name of Christianity. They have perverted the religion.”

I wish Hillary would give an example. If she mentions the Crusades, it was a counter attack against the 7th Century Jihad. This is another example of Dhimmitude.
