The Stupid Party strikes out again

I am no fan of Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). He has been nothing but a punching bag for Obama. His cries indicate to me a man with a weak personality. He is a political eunuch and a useless tool. That said, he finally did something right. Boehner called Obama’s bluff.

Throughout the whole campaign Obama kept calling on raising taxes on the rich. He wanted people who make over $250,000 to get a rate increase. I have been saying for months that the GOP should propose raising taxes on people making over 1 million dollars. I knew the Democrats would balk at this. John Boehner finally grew a spine and used a brain cell or two and proposed exactly what I have been advocating. His Plan B was to let taxes rise on those making 1 million a year. This was also what Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi had been calling for earlier in the year. This proposal by Boehner had Obama rattled. He sounded desperate at a news conference and was willing to raise the income threshold. Boehner finally was gaining the upper hand. But as always the GOP snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

A group of so called Conservative purists decided to kill Plan B. They came out against Plan B publicly, thus putting John Boehner in a  bind. Not having the numbers to pass Plan B, Boehner pulled the bill from the floor and recessed Congress til Dec 27th. This handed Obama a huge win and he can now legitimately say Republicans are protecting the rich. Plan B would have made Obama the protector of the rich and the GOP could argue with truth that they were protecting the Middle Class and small businesses. But that is not the case.

The Republican Party at the national level is dysfunctional. There is no strategic thinking or long term planning. On one hand you have the Establishment who are sell outs. Then you have the so called Conservative purists who love the martyrdom of defeat. These two elements in the national GOP has done damage . I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the National Republican Party is useless and just a starw-man of Democrats. The Party is torn between an incompetent Establishment and a Conservative Purity Inquisition. Rational Conservatives and Libertarians are ridiculed and silenced.

If nothing changes, a New Center-Right Party will emerge as a rejection to the Republican Establishment and the Conservative Purity Inquisition. In the meantime Obama continues his transformation of America into a Marxist state, aided and abetted by not having any opposition.

Many will disagree with what I wrote and you have every right to. I am not Charles Johnson and do not expect the readers of this blog to agree in lock step with me. All I ask is that you think about what I wrote. Do not expect any “I break with the Right” posts but I am increasingly unhappy with the direction of the Right. You have the Republican establishment who want to be Progressive lite and you have the Conservative Purity Inquisition who demand perfection. I reject both and believe there is a middle ground on the Right that is rational and can plan on a long term agenda to defeat Marxists/Progressives. I am increasingly alone in my beliefs but I feel I have to speak out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I do not expect full agreement just to consider my observations.

FYI- I make a distinction between the pathetic national Republican Party and the Local parties that are doing great reforms at the State level.

Republican Establishment backstabs Mitt Romney

I have always wondered why the Republican Establishment is so scared of Obama. I found my answer out yesterday. Mitt Romney rightfully condemned the US Embassy in Cairo for condemning a film that gave the Islamists a pretext to go crazy. Right away the Obama Regime took on the statement. Then the Media poured on and cried foul. Instead of standing by Mitt Romney the Republican Establishment ran away. Some in the McCain camp even attacked Mitt Romney. The GOP Establishment is afraid of Obama because they are scared of the media.

The murders of US diplomats in Libya and the attempted storming of the US Embassy in Cairo took place 56 days before the election of America’s next president.

Apparently, it is the view of much of the mainstream media and foreign-policy establishment that discussing these horrific events in the course of the presidential campaign is monstrous.

[…]

Cairo embassy personnel put out a problematic statement on Tuesday designed to mollify angry protesters upset by an anti-Islamic movie: “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”

Nine hours later, the Romney campaign released a statement implicitly linking that apology to Obama’s larger foreign policy: “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Plainly recognizing the political potency of this line, the White House quickly repudiated the Cairo statement.

[…]

Then, in the middle of the night, came word of just how horrific and deadly the killings in Benghazi had been. And also word that embassy staff had put up the Cairo statement before, not during, the attempted siege.

And so descended from On High the three horsemen of the Apocalypse, trying to bring about Foreign Policy Romneygeddon.

First were the uninhibitedly liberal media, starting with the Web site Talking Points Memo, which called Romney a liar for attacking the statement because he should’ve known about the timing of its release.

The GOP Establishment is scared of the media. This explains why Romney is timid in attacking Obama. When he goes on the attack they run away as the media condemns it. Mitt has no support from his own party’s apparatus! The Republican establishment are a bunch of cowards. I hope Romney keeps hammering Obama.
The American version of Caligula must be defeated!

Trump setting up the Foundations for a 2012 run

Many people are dismissing Trumps talk of a Presidential run as a publicity stunt. If it is one, it’s one of the worst in recorded history. he’s pissing off Democrats and the Elites of theGOP with his blunt talk about China, leaching allies and Islam. The Republican establishment have chosen Mitt Romney as their standard bearer and have unleashed a vicious campaign on Trump through their lackeys. This did this in 2000 against John McCain to make sure their then chosen candidate George Bush would get the nomination. Unlike McCain, Trump has fired back at the GOP establishment.  Something that has gone unnoticed is that Trump is actually setting up the foundations of a campaign.

Dismissed just days ago as an exercise in self-promotion, Donald Trump’s flirtation with a White House run appears to be picking up steam as the real-estate magnate moves toward establishing the rudiments of a campaign.

The real-estate developer and reality-television star is reaching out to Republican Party activists, both in Washington and in early states such as Iowa, and is talking to an array of potential handlers, pollsters and operatives.

[….]

“Donald’s as serious as a heart attack” about running, said Tony Fabrizio, a top Republican pollster who has been in frequent contact with Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump told NBC’s Today show Tuesday that he plans to make up his mind by early June at the latest. “I think I am presidential,” he said.

We will see in Late May if Trump really goes through with this. If he does, he better be prepared for teh onslaught teh gOP establishemnt at the behest of Romney will unleash. SO far, he seems eager for a fight. Let the games begin!
