Egyptian Salafists attack Iranian Diplomat’s home

I would laugh at the irony of history if Egyptian Salafists were to seize the Iranian embassy. It’s not outside the realm of possibility considering they have attacked an Iranian’s diplomat home and hoisted the flag of the Syrian rebels.

(Reuters) – Hardline Sunni Islamists tried to break into a senior Iranian diplomat’s residence in Cairo on Friday in protest at warming ties with Tehran after a 30-year estrangement, but were repelled by Egyptian police, a Reuters witness said.

About 100 members of two purist Salafist groups demonstrated against Egypt’s recent steps to improve relations with Iran, which were cut off after the 1979 Iranian Islamic revolution.

The protesters tore down an Iranian flag at the residence in a Cairo suburb and briefly hoisted the Syrian rebel flag in protest at Iran’s support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government before police removed it.

The ultra-conservative Salafi protesters are, like most Egyptians, Sunni Muslims. They are concerned about what they see as Iranian efforts to spread Shi’ite Islam in Sunni countries.

The AL-Qaeda Iran alliance

The Progressives have invented the myth that AL-Qaeda and Iran hate each other. This is further from the truth. In fact since the early 90’s they have had a collaborative relation. When AL-Qaeda was based in the Sudan, their training camps were set up by Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hizb’Allah. Members of the IRG fought alongside AQ against the Serbs in Bosnia. Hizb’Allah and Al-Qaeda did the Khobar Tower bombings together in 1996. When AL-Qaeda set up shop in Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Hizb’Allah leader Imad Mughniyeh trained AQ operatives in plane hijackings. In 1999 Iran and the Taliban almost had a war. It was Al-Qaeda’s #2 Ayman al-Zawahiri who squashed it and settled the differences. Therefore it amazes me that only recently are these links being exposed!

WASHINGTON (AFP) – A Congressional panel released a report Wednesday that alleges that Iran’s elite Al-Quds force offers support to Al-Qaeda, adding a new dimension to the militant threat to the United States.

In its report to the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus, the strategic advisory firm Kronos highlighted what it says are increasingly strong links between the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps force and Al-Qaeda.

The ties date back to the 1990s when Al-Quds members worked with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah to train and equip bin Laden’s holy warriors. He cites the 9/11 Commission Report for operational linkages between the two.

“Since 9/11, these partnerships have become all the more pronounced. Hundreds of al-Qaeda members, along with family members of core al-Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden, have found refuge inside Iran,” he wrote.

In appealing for US policy makers to address the links, Smith warned that “if left unchecked, Iran’s relationship with Al-Qaeda could cost America and our allies dearly.”

Why do our elites deny this alliance? As someone who has followed Islamic Imperialism since the early 90’s, I knew this was going on. AL-Qaeda and Iran have the same enemies. It’s only fitting they would work together. Also, 12ther Shiites and Salafalists have an apocalyptic world view. They  both need to create war so the Mahdi (for Sunnis)/12th Imam (Shiites) can establish a Global Islamic sate. What better way than to pool their resources and create chaos together. It’s time this alliance becomes public knowledge.
