What Scott Brown’s win means for the Democrats

Welcome to Friday’s with the ‘hammer.

Dr. K.  (one of the few voices of sanity at the Washington Post) cuts through all the spin and tells the simple truth – that Scott Brown  was able to win because he nationalized the race. Martha (or is it Marcia?) Coakley had Obama on her side, Brown had Curt Schilling – the bloody sock beat the cut out board, Fenway Park beat the salons of Georgetown and Cambridge. The good thing for the Republicans (and ultimately bad for the national Democrats) is that the Democrats are in complete and total denial as to what happened on Tuesday. Howard Dean actually claimed that  it was a vote for more “progressive health care reform” leaving Chris “tingles up the leg” Matthews flabbergasted. Another such “victory” (coming on the heels of NJ,  Va. And Ma.) and Obama will be ruined (the classic pyrrhic victory).

by Charles Krauthammer

On Jan. 14, five days before the Massachusetts special election, President Obama was in full bring-it-on mode as he rallied House Democrats behind his health-care reform. “If Republicans want to campaign against what we’ve done by standing up for the status quo and for insurance companies over American families and businesses, that is a fight I want to have.”

The bravado lasted three days. When Obama campaigned in Boston on Jan. 17 for Obamacare supporter Martha Coakley, not once did he mention the health-care bill. When your candidate is sinking, you don’t throw her a millstone.

After Coakley’s defeat, Obama pretended that the real cause was a generalized anger and frustration “not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.”

Let’s get this straight: The antipathy to George W. Bush is so enduring and powerful that . . . it just elected a Republican senator in Massachusetts? Why, the man is omnipotent.

And the Democrats are delusional: Scott Brown won by running against Obama, not Bush. He won by brilliantly nationalizing the race, running hard against the Obama agenda, most notably Obamacare. Killing it was his No. 1 campaign promise.

——————————————-

Brown ran on a very specific, very clear agenda. Stop health care. Don’t Mirandize terrorists. Don’t raise taxes; cut them. And no more secret backroom deals with special interests.

——————————————-

Democratic cocooners will tell themselves that Coakley was a terrible candidate who even managed to diss Curt Schilling. True, Brown had Schilling. But Coakley had Obama. When the bloody sock beats the presidential seal — of a man who had them swooning only a year ago — something is going on beyond personality.

The Rejection of Barack Hussein Obama

The American Progressive Movement was riding high in 2008.  In 2006, thanks to the Progressive agenda and Neo-Wilsonian Foreign policy of George W. Bush, the Republicans were voted out.  The American people decided if they are going to have a Leftwing government, why not go for the real thing. Then the Propaganda machine got behind Obama and declared him the savior of the nation. He spoke of reconciliation, bi-partisanship, hope and change. Once in power, he exposed his totalitarian Neo-Feudal agenda of control. The American people have woken up and they reject the anti-American ideology of Mr. Hussein Obama.

A friend who toiled in the magazine business tells a story. In the mid-1970s, the publisher of their national news weekly took him to lunch to celebrate how well things were going. Circulation and ads were both roaring, making for happy campers all around.

As he clinked Martini glasses with my friend, the publisher declared, “The dogs like the dog food!”

The story’s glib disdain for the customers comes as a well-timed metaphor. Unfortunately for President Obama, American voters don’t like the crap he is plopping in their food dishes.

Now they are doing something about it. His health-care monstrosity has turned simmering discontent into a battle cry of resistance and cost him iron-clad control of the US Senate.

Senatore Elect Scott Brown’s victory is sending a message to Barack Hussein Obama and his Tranzi Progressive masters. The American people don’t want their economic decisions decided by the Government. The irony of the situation is that Leftist traitors like Sen. Schumer (D-NY), we are attacking Brown because the Tea Party Movement backed him and raised money for him. What they don’t remember that what started the first American Revolution was a Tea Party in Boston, Massachusetts. History seems to be repeating itself as the American people are revolting against our elitist establishment. Obviously, the Progressives are illiterate in history!

Do you hear them now?

Thank you to mjazz, who provided this quote from his friend, along with the picture:

In, I think, North Andover. In the snowstorm. And yes, I’m pretty sure that’s The Truck Scott is standing on. You know, the one President Whatshisname said we should ignore, the GM – pre-bailout – truck. Yeah, that truck.

There is something almost Norman Rockwellesque about it, don’t you think?

Rodan Update: Below is a Post by Speranza about this election that compliments this post.
