When Maid Marian surrendered to the Sheriff’s constabulary, she knew she was in safe hands. Okay, that’s a snarky caption/title for a ridiculous photo. Let’s talk about Marian’s hubby instead.

The popular myth of Robin Hood that he “robbed from the rich and gave to the poor” is a relatively recent interpretation, and Rabunhod did nothing of the sort. He was a dangerous highwayman for sure, but he targeted the tax collectors in order to return the excessive confiscations to their proper owners.

Presumably he didn’t do this for free, and likely took a percentage for his collection services. Is that wrong? I don’t think so, because he stole back that which was stolen from others. He took the risk for the good, and he deserved a commission. Pirates and common criminals weren’t so generous.

Take it for what it’s worth because it’s always worth taking, especially on

Comments and respectful debate are both welcome and encouraged.

Comments are the sole opinion of the comment writer, just as each thread posted is the sole opinion or post idea of the administrator that posted it or of the readers that have written guest posts for the Blogmocracy.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
