3/6 even last week 56/98 overall $2050/1000. I’ve doubled my money and am beating the stock market quite nicely. Good thing I did’t get out at $1650/1000. If it were real money I would have ran at that point.

Welcome to Week 14! Championship week.

#17 Utah at #11 Washington – Fri, Nov 30, 8:00 PM ET – Utah is getting 5 in the PAC-12 Championship game. I think W can beat that spread if they show up like they did against Washington State.

#14 Texas at #5 Oklahoma – Sat, Dec 1, 12:00 PM ET – Texas is getting 8 in the Big-12 Championship game. These two teams HATE EACH OTHER, and this is the second time that they have played each other this year. Its a close one and the Longhorns cover.

Stanford at California – Sat, Dec 1, 3:00 PM ET – The Tree is a 3 point favorite in Reno for this smoke and fire re-scheduled game. The Tree beats the spread, sorry Barbarian.

#1 Alabama at #4 Georgia – Sat, Dec 1, 4:00 PM ET – ‘Bama is giving 12 in the SEC Championship game. Twelve. this is #1 versus #4 and the spread is 12. That is how much better the ‘Tide are than everyone else. Georgia will be playing for their very play-off lives. they are on the bubble with one loss. Twelve points…man…’Bama covers.

#25 Fresno State at #22 Boise State – Sat, Dec 1, 7:45 PM ET – This game is a pick ’em! I pick ’em Boise State.

#2 Clemson at Pittsburgh – Sat, Dec 1, 8:00 PM ET – Clemson are giving my Beloved Panthers 27 in the ACC championship game. PITT beats the spread.

#21 Northwestern at #6 Ohio State – Sat, Dec 1, 8:00 PM ET – there is no line on this game, no one wants any part of it. neither do I.

***tally update for next week I was 2/6 today and now 58/104 overall $1850/1000***

Inside the elected Illinois Dem. mind.

“An Illinois state Democratic lawmaker is facing increasing pressure to resign after she called for the deaths of a Republican lawmaker’s family during a floor speech this week.

Democrat Rep. Stephanie Kifowit said she wanted to pump a “broth of Legionella” into Republican Rep. Peter Breen’s water system so his wife and children would “be infected” and “ultimately die.”

“I would like to make him a broth of Legionella and pump it into the water system of his loved ones so that they can be infected, they can be mistreated, they can sit and suffer by getting aspirin instead of being properly treated and ultimately die,” Kifowit said in a fit of rage.”

I think the last day to sign up for the Iditarod is today or tomorrow and with the roads out some people are blocked. I don’t know if they’re going to delay or what. Also, they’re going to have to double check the route, I would think, so see if they’re even still passable.

The weed damage is cumulative. I was vaguely wondering, since his mother was known to be a drinker, if he was born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Of course that doesn’t explain the people who voted for him.

In big cities there is a much higher percentage of single people, living alone, with no friends or family so simple things like buying a turkey when you are all alone is a stupid thing to do.

However my local Walmart has the perfect miniature turkeys. The ideal size for just one person. I bought two of them as they were frozen and the “eat by” date on both of them is 02/01/2020

That means I can have one tiny turkey for my Christmas dinner and the other one on Thanksgiving 2019.

One turkey was $4.29 and the other one $4.44

btw, Justina will get kicked out. He’s white. His French bias and pedigree is not a big deal outside of Quebec. Even people in Quebec are getting fed up with his bumbling & arrogance.

These police raids on Deutsche Bank are a huge deal. The Euro zone is bubbling with lots of issues. DB guarantees a massive amount of derivatives as a counterparty. Having its stock below the 10 dollar share price is supposed to be a tipping point for triggering a blow up in some derivatives. If the Eurozone goes wonky, it doesn’t bode well for the coming months. Soy boy has pillaged the country making us highly vulnerable financially. Bye Bye Trudy.

DB is the crooked cause of its own greed imo. In the U.S. I think it is Citibank that holds the greatest number of derivatives. It’s DB in Europe. Some of these may have blown up already for all we know. 170 police raiding your offices (including the CEO) for 2 days is NOT what you want to see in a systemically important Bank.

Blue State Blues: Democrats Stole the Election in California — Legally, Through ‘Ballot Harvesting’

California Democrats “stole” the midterm election using a new method that is illegal elsewhere but completely legal in the Golden State: a practice called “ballot harvesting,” which allows third parties to submit mail-in ballots for voters.

It sounds “bizarre,” as outgoing Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) described it to the Washington Post on Thursday — but it is absolutely true: Democratic operatives handed in pile after pile of other people’s ballots.

And Democrats are proud of it, mocking Republicans for failing to take advantage of a new law signed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2016, over GOP objections, that allows “ballot harvesting,” and which some Republicans are now blaming for their defeat.

The practice explains several mysteries about the 2018 election, such as: why mail-in ballots caused massive shifts toward Democrats in races Republicans thought they won on Election Night; why Republicans won the turnout battle in the primary, but lost it in the general election; and why Democrats with party backing defeated fellow Democrats without it — even when the latter had more money.

“Ballot harvesting” by Democratic Party operatives — a surprise tactic they likely saved for the general election — appears to have made the difference. The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday that Democrats ran a disciplined, door-to-door campaign offering to deliver voters’ ballots to the polls:

Few people noticed when Gov. Jerry Brown signed the changes in AB1921 into law two years ago. In the past, California allowed only relatives or people living in the same household to drop off mail ballots for another voter. The new law allowed anyone, even a paid political campaign worker, to collect and return ballots — “harvesting” them, in political slang.

In Orange County alone, where every House seat went Democratic, “the number of Election Day vote-by-mail dropoffs was unprecedented — over 250,000,” Fred Whitaker, chairman of the county Republican Party, said in a note to supporters. “This is a direct result of ballot harvesting allowed under California law for the first time. That directly caused the switch from being ahead on election night to losing two weeks later.”

This just published in the National Interest by a great mate of mine.

    https://nationalinterest.org/feature/china-militarizes-its-influence-africa-36667

    China in Africa.

    Very interesting – and ominous.

One aspect not mentioned by Rick that perhaps is relevant (in addition to the geo-strategic, expansionist and other reasons he mentions) is the need for China to protect its engineers and other personnel sent to Africa to implement the BRI and other projects and investments in Africa. As Rick puts it, there are “about a million Chinese workers on the continent.”

Pakistan and its Baluchi separatists might be thought of unique to that part of the world but the Chinese would be foolish not to leave all that investment, superstructure and overseas Chinese personnel exposed with only local African troops and security forces to protect them. Especially African.

In that sense. perhaps the recent problems with the Baluchis provided just the excuse China needed to install or increase its military presence wherever there are Chinese workers and investment.

Saturday night in Houston and thinking about going on a “get away from city life for a few days” vacation.

Ideally a small cabin in the woods somewhere….

Been searching for an hour or so and all that seems to be available are hunting cabins where I will be surrounded by other cabins full of men who hunt all day and party all night.

( do not get me wrong, that sounds like fun, but not what I want. I want a few days of tranquility )

The other type of “cabin” are cutsie cottages that are internally decorated with everything the owner could buy from Bed, Bath and Beyond when it was on sale!

Then I thought, rent an RV!

I do not like driving cars, and I really hate having to drive a U-Haul but I can if I have to. Not all rental RVs are huge, you can rent very small ones.

If I was only going away for two or three days then the shower thing etc would not be an issue.

The state parks in Texas are very nice.

So my ideal getaway would be rent the smallest RV I could and pre-book a parking space in several state parks for the same days, then load up and drive to the first place.

If I didn’t like it then just drive to the next state park and so on until I was either too tired to drive or I found a good place to stay.

    Possums dream…..

We have ‘freedom campers’ in small RV along SH25 that runs the length of the Coromandel Peninsula. They just pull over in a lay-by on the coast and make dinner. The beach is 5 steps away and there are pohutawa trees overhead lining the road north. The fishing is unbelievable. Two John Dory got themselves stranded on the beach in a wind against tide / falling tide situation. So you don’t even need a fishing line! HEH!

:)The birds got to the two fish, a 1 1/2 foot and a 1 foot fish before anyone else could get to them! A Very expensive meal for the birds with John Dory telling for $40 a Kg!

I do believe that you are correct.

I see that a few Beluchies were killed trying to bomb the Chinese consulate the other day. They were objecting to the inside deals done to facilitate the port expansion to allow the One Belt One Road multi billion dollar expansion of the port. TypicallyChinese have to hide in their walled compounds from the locals who are none to pleased with the locking up of 1-2 million of their co-religious in Chinese concentration camps in NW China.

China is not subtle or devious enough to establish a 21st century version of perfidious Albion / Britannia.

They will come up short settling in as Imperialists.

yeah, well, if it hadn’t been that, it would have been something else. They’re just ‘tetchy’ people, if you ask me.

It’s going to be fun watching the Chinese gritting their teeth from trying to restrain their natural impulse to just kill everybody in their way in order to maintain the fiction that they’re some kind of inevitable global/cultural force that’s useless to resist.

Senior U.S. admiral found dead in Bahrain, no foul play suspected

The U.S. Navy admiral overseeing American naval forces in the Middle East has been found dead at his residence in Bahrain, the Navy said on Saturday, adding that foul play was not suspected.

Vice Admiral Scott Stearney, a Chicago native, was the commander of the U.S. Navy’s Bahrain-based 5th Fleet. The Navy did not specify the cause of death.

“The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Bahraini Ministry of Interior are cooperating on the investigation, but at this time no foul play is suspected,” said Chief of Naval Operations Admiral John Richardson, adding that Stearney’s deputy, Rear Admiral Paul Schlise, had assumed command.

There’s SO much money in that, I doubt it will do much good. They have to start executing people, like they did with the dog food contamination. And altho there was a good amount of money in dog food, it didn’t compare to what fentanyl must bring in.

There’s not much money in the dog food market anymore, btw. No one in the U.S. will touch it. We all look for labels that say all ingredients are sourced in the U.S.

Michelle Obama Attacks Trump’s Morals, Says “We Knew That We Were The Moral Compass”

Former first lady Michelle Obama criticized President Donald Trump for the morals he governs with during her appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” Friday night.

She was on the show to promote her new memoir “Becoming.” Obama took numerous shots at the president in her book, saying she’d “never forgive” Trump for questioning President Barack Obama’s birth place.

Trump hit back, arguing that he’d never forgive Obama “for what he did to our United States military.” (RELATED: Trump Responds To Michelle Obama’s Memoir Criticism: She ‘Got Paid A Lot Of Money To Write A Book’)

The conversation shifted as Michelle Obama shared an anecdote of how she felt leaving the White House on Air Force One at the end of President Obama’s eight years in office. She spoke about the relief she felt at no longer having to be perfect.

“We knew that we were the moral compass. So we had to speak carefully and clearly and intelligently and we couldn’t just say things off the cuff,” Obama stated.

Colbert followed up by asking, “As people who took that moral position seriously, and it is a serious position, how does it feel to see the next occupant, at least of the Oval Office—I can’t speak to anyone else’s in his family—who seems indifferent to that responsibility?”

“The question that we have to ask ourselves is how does the country feel about it? Because I don’t think it matters how I felt about it. I’ve felt torn about it from the day I watched it happen. But now the country has to ask itself, what do we want? What is the bar that we’re setting for ourselves?” the former first lady responded. “It’s up to the voters now to figure out what kind of moral leadership do we demand in the White House, regardless of party, regardless of race, regardless of gender, regardless of wherever you are. What do we want our president to look like?”

“How do we want them to act? And if we vote for one set of behavior, then that’s obviously what we want until we vote differently,” Michelle Obama concluded.

In case you’ve ever wondered just how much “white privilege” you have, there’s now an app for that:

    Intersectionality Score Calculator

You may have heard of intersectionality – “the theory that the overlap of various social identities, such as race, gender, and sexuality, contributes to the systemic oppression and discrimination experienced by an individual” – but don’t know how to compare your level of oppression with others. Now, you can!

Simply adjust the sliders below according to your identity factors to see your intersectionality score. You can use it when you’re dealing with others to know who’s more marginalized instead of getting to know them as individuals.

Tuberculosis, Chickenpox And AIDS At Tijuana Migrant Camp

Democrats like to swoon over the sad plights of the suffering masses making their way to America’s border right now, saying the poor people of points south are simply trying to do right by their families: find suitable jobs and safe homes and so on.

That’s easy to do from the safe distance of Washington, D.C., and that leaves them blind — not to mention immune — to the diseases of these migrants, to the health problems of these wanna-be immigrants.

Of 6,000 currently sleeping in the city of Tijuana, a third are reportedly being treated for various medical issues. And not just coughs due to the common cold.

As Fox News reported, according to Tijuana’s Health Department, these medical issues include tuberculosis, HIV and AIDS, chickenpox, lice and skin infections, Hepatitis — and who knows what else.

It’s the whispered dark side of unchecked borders. The Democrats don’t want to discuss this, but open borders don’t just bring in unknown national security risks. They bring germs and diseases and health conditions that can infect and afflict the citizenry.

    Look at these headlines.

“CDC warns of new tick species capable of spreading diseases to humans,” The Hill newspaper wrote, just this week, about a new report that finds “the Asian longhorned tick, an arachnid native to Korea and other parts of east Asia, has been found in several states in the eastern and southeastern parts of the United States.”

New Jersey reported the first sighting of the tick last year. It’s since spread to eight states.

How’d it get here? Somehow, somewhere, it crossed the border.

“CDC identifies 31 states with 116 confirmed cases of polio-like disease,” Fox2Now.com reported.

The story went on to report “most of the children with confirmed cases experienced a viral illness with symptoms including fever and cough about three to 10 days before the onset of paralysis.”

    Where’s it coming from?

Nobody knows, nobody says. It’s impolite to suggest immigrants could be the carriers — but since nobody knows, factually speaking, that makes it a possibility. And that possibility makes the need for border controls all the more necessary.

“There have now been 106 confirmed cases of [acute flaccid myelitis] in 29 states this year,” WHNT.com reported, just a this week. “[That’s] an increase of 16 since last week. Three cases of AFM have been confirmed in Alabama. … Since 2014, there have been 430 confirmed cases of the rare disease, and 90% have been children, according to the CDC.”

Open-border advocates like to scoff at the idea of tightening borders based on medical necessities.

It is. Prince MbS and the King are absolutely serious about reformation and there is more to the Khashoggi murder than meets the eye. If the king and MbS die peacefully in their beds it will be a miracle.

Their ambassador to the U.S. is Prince Khalid, the King’s son. I don’t know if he is half or full brother to MbS.

I am guessing now but I assume that the market for dog food has gone through the roof as the 300 million Chinese middle class has found dogs to be companions rather than the main course!

I got a 5 to 7 depending on where I put the “older” and “able-bodied” sliders.

Yeah, my white privilege really was a benefit when I was farming to put myself through college, commuting instead of living in a dorm because my parents owned their farm, weren’t minority, so I didn’t qualify for any financial aid despite the fact the farm barely paid its expenses. I was very privileged only having to work 45 to 50 hour weeks as I built my career. … and that white privilege has really helped me as I wind down my career, only having to work 55 hour weeks to get ahead in a company that values diversity and inclusion so those are the first candidates for upper level positions.

Seriously, I have been blessed and able to do a lot of things that others can only dream of. I’ve been well-paid and I have the prospect of a comfortable retirement. But that has zero to do with how I look or how I am plumbed and a whole lot to do with how I’ve used the opportunities God has put before me.
