Happy New Years Yinz!

I get to be off the next couple o’ days so it will be college football, food, a few adult beverages, and much school work.

I’m 62/107 overall $2050/$1000…so I don’t ned to make any crazy bets to break even. Might bet just one game, the LSU v UCF event.

So, in the background of my days will be the following:

Stanford at Pittsburgh – Hyundai Sun Bowl – Mon, Dec 31, 2:00 PM ET – The Tree are a 4 point favorite. I like to think that my Beloved Panthers can cover. But I’m not betting any money on it.

#22 Northwestern at #17 Utah – San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl – Mon, Dec 31, 7:00 PM ET – The Cats are a 7 point dog at Da ‘Utes. The Cats can cover, and even win outright if they show up.

#18 Mississippi State at Iowa – Outback Bowl – Tue, Jan 1, 12:00 PM ET – The Bulldogs are a 7 point favorite, Iowa covers.

#11 LSU at #8 UCF – Playstation Fiesta Bowl – Tue, Jan 1, 1:00 PM ET – It’s a pick ’em and I pick the Tigers to put this second level UCF team in it’s place. I’ll put $100 on that.

#14 Kentucky at #12 Penn State – Vrbo Citrus Bowl – Tue, Jan 1, 1:00 PM ET – K is a 6.5 point dog, PSU Covers.

#9 Washington at #6 Ohio State – Rose Bowl Game Presented By Northwestern Mutual – Tue, Jan 1, 5:00 PM ET – THE GRAND-DADDY OF THEM ALL. The Rose Bowl. The Big 10 and the Pac-12 take this game VERY SERIOUSLY. As they should. Washington is getting 7, the Buckeyes cover.

#15 Texas at #5 Georgia – Allstate Sugar Bowl – Tue, Jan 1, 8:45 PM ET – Texas is getting 13 and G does not cover.

Happy New year. Some good bowls this year , but a huge gulf between the big dogs, Bama & Clemson.
It annoys me to death, but it is a fact.
How to close the gap? Is it 1. Recruiting, 2. Coaching 3. Both.
    I vote number 3.
If it was just weather, USC would be a monster

OT, but interesting. A ranking of the five nuttiest things done by the left this year.
I can think of at least five more worthy contenders.

Raise your hand if you saw this coming:

Breaking: Elizabeth Warren Announces Formation Of Presidential Exploratory Committee

Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren announced on the last day of 2018 she is officially forming a presidential exploratory committee in a bid to run for the presidency in 202o.

“America’s middle class is under attack,” Warren said in the video on Monday. “How did we get here? Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie. And they enlisted politicians to cut them a bigger slice.”

Best laugh I have had for a long time.

Went to my local little Walmart, not one of the big superstore ones but the just grocery places.

Stood in line for a checkout that a very nice lady I have known for years was operating. When it was my turn and she looked up she was genuinely pleased to see me but I could tell she was not having a good day. I am like that, I have this strange and very unwanted ability to feel other peoples emotions.

I said to her “are you OK”

She replied “I am having a bad day”

Well…. then I made her laugh, in fact as I am typing this I am laughing again.

I said “You may be having a bad day, but what about the man in front of me you just served. Nine bags of peanuts and five big bags of lifesaver candy, and two jars of hemorrhoid cream”

I was then laughing so much I forgot the twelve thingies of peach yogurt he bought.

LOL that was all he bought, peanuts, candy, yogurt and hemorrhoid cream.

It made my day having a laugh with someone, and I hope it cheered her up.

As to the man and his jars of medical stuff and all those peanuts, happy new year!

A nice opening of the New Year. We’re going to fly by something called Ultima Thule – strange name – the farthest object we’ve ever explored, about 4 billion light years. ETA 12:33 am Tues morn Jan 1 (I’m assuming all times given are EST, the article doesn’t say). NASA is going to live stream. Here’s the info

    Cannot find my phone.

Going to need it on 2nd January 2019 to wake me up at 7am so I can get to work.

If I do not get to work on time I will lose my job.

LOL, I don’t give a flying fuck! Phone can stay lost….

It has had a remarkable track record of being able to sort the wheat from the chaff all these years. A toast to yinzes and to absent friends who pass through here.

I sincerely think that 2019 will be rocky because we have mostly bad leadership in the world. People are fighty, frighty, and flighty.(I speak a form of Engrish) “Free speech” is very expensive because you can be sued for it. Or worse, you can become a pariah. We are all going to adapt to accelerated changes. I intend to whine. You have been warned. 🙂

Yeah Kilgore was Charlie’s special agent for a while. I recall that he went over to Breitbart? And posted really racist stuff in the dead of night. There were no Admins around so he claimed that they were ok with it because it took so long to take them down. Then those two had a falling out. If I recall Charlie got too nuts for Kilgore.

As an aside about 8 or 9 years ago when I was really into the LGF shit my Possumy senses sensed that Kilgore Trout was of the feminine gender.

In 2010 I had my shit together and was good at things. Now I can’t even put my pants on the correct way in the morning.

I have the 2010 and 2011 shit archived somewhere, I really had a strong feeling Kilgore was a female.

Maybe I was wrong then and are wrong now, but Kilgore showed many feminine traits. Artistic, creative, musical instrument repair, greenhouse, growing kale and many other things.

The kilgore trout “felt” like a female Internet person to me.

I tend to be able to “feel” Internet people when I try…

    @ doriangrey:

    Nope:

Bockscar, sometimes called Bock’s Car, is the name of the United States Army Air Forces B-29 bomber that dropped a Fat Man nuclear weapon over the Japanese city of Nagasaki during World War II in the second – and last – nuclear attack in history.

Bockscar was assigned to Captain Frederick C. Bock and crew C-13, and flown to Wendover Army Air Field, Utah in April.[2] The name chosen for the aircraft, and painted on it after the mission, was a pun on the name of the aircraft commander.

idiot threw a punch into a guys facemask, broke his hand and got ejected.

    moron.

i learned much when playing rugby. especially that when cheap-shotted, don’t retaliate immediately. we were playing the french and every time i threw the ball out of the scrum, their scrumhalf would tackle me and throw a punch. i let my team captain know who then informed the ref. the ref was brit, they hated us because we beat them a lot. so he did nothing.

this continued, ok…then, late in the game their scrum half got pinned under the pile. i stomped hard on his face with my metal cleats.

    payback is a bitch.

the question is – where did she go? You don’t want that one anywhere near patients. Altho – and CW will correct me if things have changed – nurses know who the fuck ups are and eventually this stuff gets taken care of. Usually. Which, I guess, begs the question of how she got as far as she did

My BFF is retiring from nursing this summer. She started a camp for burn kids, I think she’s going to focus on that.

    I agree.

Playing club rugby we were playing a team from west Sydney who were renowned for dirty play. There was a guy called ‘punch’. He was playing at #8 and involved in every bit of ‘biffo’. Like you we told the coach who told us to forget the score and the outcome of the game. The team task was to ‘get Poncho’ and remove him for the rest of the season. He got pinned under a heap of forwards and our fly half used his exposed arm as place kicking practice. Broke the tibia. Poncho was stretchered off and although we lost that match we never saw Poncho ever again!

Judicial Watch: Defense, State Department Documents Reveal Obama Administration Knew that al Qaeda Terrorists Had Planned Benghazi Attack 10 Days in Advance

Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained more than 100 pages of previously classified “Secret” documents from the Department of Defense (DOD)and the Department of State revealing that DOD almost immediately reported that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was committed by the al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood-linked “Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman” (BCOAR), and had been planned at least 10 days in advance. Rahman is known as the Blind Sheikh, and is serving life in prison for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other terrorist acts. The new documents also provide the first official confirmation that shows the U.S. government was aware of arms shipments from Benghazi to Syria. The documents also include an August 2012 analysis warning of the rise of ISIS and the predicted failure of the Obama policy of regime change in Syria.

The documents were released in response to a court order in accordance with a May 15, 2014, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against both the DOD and State Department seeking communications between the two agencies and congressional leaders “on matters related to the activities of any agency or department of the U.S. government at the Special Mission Compound and/or classified annex in Benghazi” (Judicial Watch v U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of State(No. 1:14-cv-00812)).
