    the chain link fence killbox

    to all attending

    take wire cutters

per lobo’s post downstairs about the Gov Puerto Rico firing somebody after a warehouse full of aid supplies had been discovered – I’m betting it was part of a crime network.

The FEMA official for that area has been arrested

A former administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was arrested Tuesday for taking bribes from the president of a company that landed $1.8 billion in federal contracts to repair Puerto Rico’s electrical grid after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in September 2017.

Federal authorities arrested Ahsha Tribble, FEMA’s former deputy administrator for the region that includes Puerto Rico

sure, assuming they were unobserved and not interfered with. Those circumstances won’t be in place, tho.

An interesting thread about that fence/cage. Based on the linked WashEx article about asking armed ‘friends’ to cover disarmed people inside the cage (dumbest idea I ever heard for all the obvious reasons)

what to do about that cage…and somebody is commenting that getting it down is being ‘red-teamed’

Just don’t go in, how hard is that?

Good morning. I am watching Stephanopolus now for some teason that escapes me.
He just had Schiff on and challenged nothing, he pretty much gave him a tongue bath.
Then comes Dershowitz for the defense an he tried to depose him and just looked like a partisan hack.
Dershowitz was not playing, so in desperation Stephanaopolus blurts out “Are you going to vote to reelect Trump?”
WTF, they don’t even try to hide it anymore.

There’s also been talk about signal jamming, etc. VCDL (Virginia Citizen Defense League) is supposedly working with the cops, but that means all their people are going into the cage.

NRA is AWOL. They did their ‘lobbying day’ last week and altho a good number of people showed up (and they handed out empty magazines as souvenirs, whoopty-do!), they aren’t touching this with a barge pole. Gutless bastards, I may drop them and go with Gun Owners of America who are actually showing up.

In the meantime, I’ve just seen something that says a lot of other sneaky legislation is up that’s not being paid attention to – e.g., changing the governor’s term to 8 yrs from 4, etc., so I’m off to check the legislation site. Most of the citations I saw were on the Senate side.

    The best of Larry Correia

A friend of mine who is a political activist said something interesting the other day, and that was for most people on the left political violence is a knob, and they can turn the heat up and down, with things like protests, and riots, all the way up to destruction of property, and sometimes murder… But for the vast majority of folks on the right, it’s an off and on switch. And the settings are Vote or Shoot Fucking Everybody.

In something that I find profoundly troubling, when I’ve had this discussion before, I’ve had a Caring Liberal tell me that the example of Iraq doesn’t apply, because “we kept the gloves on”, whereas fighting America’s gun nuts would be a righteous total war with nothing held back… Holy shit, I’ve got to wonder about the mentality of people who demand rigorous ROEs to prevent civilian casualties in a foreign country, are blood thirsty enough to carpet bomb Texas.

You really hate us, and then act confused why we want to keep our guns? But I don’t think unrelenting total war against everyone who has ever disagreed with you on Facebook is going to be quite as clean as you expect.

Meanwhile in the natural world where Greenie protesters shake their fist at the sky and wonder why it has no effect!

The raw phicics of Australia’s bushfire season comes down to the reality that the Greenies ideology doesn’t mesh with the reality that they find themselves in and that ALWAYS ends in really bad shit!

The things that could in bush fires are:-
    * Fuel load (97% of the whole shebang) as Australia is NOT the Northern Hemisphere where forests DO NOT build up fuel load. Northern Hemisphere forests drop fuel that ROTS and fertalises the forests. NOT SO in Oz where fuel falling from trees DOES NOT ROT and dries out and builds up as FUEL annually.
*Australian forests germinate by using fire to break open seed heads to allow germination naturally. Oz has naturally evolved to have fire resistant trees that depend on fire to germinate. Something that Europeans and especially GREENIES REFUSE TO ACCEPT. Their ideology gets in the way of their rationality.
    * On average 1 hectare of forest (100metres x 100 metres) accumulates 1 tonne of fuel per year.
    * By doubling the fuel load on the ground in Australian forests bushfire INTENSITY INCREASES by the square. So in year 1 the intensity of fire is 1. In year 2 with a doubling of fuel the intensity is 4. two years later at year 4 the intensity its 4 squared and is 16. Four years later and the intensity is 8 squared and is 64. Some of these fires have accumulated fuel loads of 30 years! Go figure !
    * Any fire intensity due to fuel load in excess of a 3 TONNES PRE HECTARE becomes UNMANAGEABLE by ANY RESOURCE available to humanity. The only options is to let it burn out and attempt to control the spread of cinders and stop spot fires spreading and joining up. There is about 70 TONNES per hectare in Victoria and 35 TONNES per hectare in NSW currently.
    * Continued State calls for extra money from the Commonwealth is an effort to throw good mone¥ after bad as resources won’t ever stop fires in Oz. There are over 300 aircraft dedicated to fire suppression but they constantly FAIL to even make a dent. Adding more is a waste of resources and are in themselves becoming a danger as areas over active fire fronts are looking like the skies over O’hare airport. There is NO MORE ROOM for additional aircraft!
*The Federal government has to change the Constitution to allow for early Federal intervention and the deployment of Military resources in fire emergencies. The current State by State control of the Environment and ecology is a total nonsense and is the ‘plaything; of the socialist left who are more interested in their ideological purity that the management of emergency situations based on reality and science. The current Global Warming bullshit propaganda pushed by the Left to explain away the fire seasons not withstanding.
    * As I said drought and weather patterns (humidity, wind direction and strength) account for a mere 3% of the factors governing bush fire control. The elephant in the room is the other 97%… Fuel Load management. For 60,000 years the Australian aborigines managed the Australian forests just fine, using their ‘fire-stick’ protocols. That is small managed control burns that reduce fuel loads during the winter months. It was only with the arrival of Europeans, who thought in terms of European forest management that Australia started having problems with bush fires.
    * As far as the propaganda surrounding the current bush fires … it is all lies and bullshit, pushed by those in the media and Greenie / Left, to advance their own agenda of Global Warming rubbish , which they have actually admitted openly to be total bullshit and just a mechanism to redistribute wealth and to wreck Western economies.
    * Propaganda like this is Worst, Biggest, Most damaging etc … etc … etc Bullshit. For the record the WOIRST FIRE SEASON was 1851 with 171,000 hectares destroyed compared to just 10,000 hectares. The civilian casualties in the1980s Black Friday fires in Victoria with 170 dead compared to the current 30 dead. Every 30 years as regular as clockwork we end up with very bad fire seasons due almost entirely to ignorant ideologically based policies surrounding Australia gum tree forest management. This is NOT rocket science folks!
    * The solution too Australian bushfires is simple and clear. Early Constitutionally mandated Federal control of emergency situations. Legally enforcement of cool weather controlled burn-offs of Fuel Loads.

    That’s it.

It really is just that simple!

An ambush remains an ambush as long as at least one side considers it an ambush. There are plenty of situations where folks knowingly walk into an ambush specifically to break it open with superior firepower and manoeuvre. The folks at Richmond have neither of these so they are nuts walking into a coliseum like lemmings to the slaughter, regardless of the potential optics. Remember that the MSM are playing on the other team so positive optics aren’t even guaranteed.

Better to NOT play by the rules in place. Shut down the State by smaller individual demonstrations that stretch the authorities resources to breaking point. Have a good independent media program to highlight the point that the people are deliberately not playing by the rules mandated by the State authorities and use alternative media outlets to highlight State brutality when it breaks out.

The Taliban don ‘t have Divisions and Army Groups fielded for a very good reason. They would lose if they played by the US army’s rules. Hence the 18 years of stalemate!

Assymetric civil strife is your friend. DO NOT CONGREGATE in large groups and make yourself am easy target for authorities.

The first rule in any fight is to identify one’s enemy. In this case ANTIFAR was NOT your immediate enemy. The Commonwealth of Virginia’s administration was. ANTIFAR were on their best behaviour because they were outnumbered and outgunned. Smart.

The State not so much and if the demonstrators got away with it this time then good for them as the ‘agent provocateurs’ didn’t show up to spark a massive conflagration. Next time may not end up so benignily. Don’t push your luck folks.

    Just saying

    🙂

The Grayson County Sheriff Vaughn is on Laura’s show. He’s the video I posted saying he will not enforce unconstitutional laws.

That’s not to say don’t continue to demonstrate. Just do it on your own terms and not on the enemy’s!

Guerrilla County demonstrations that close down whole counties and especially those would be sanctuary counties. Hit fast and then disappear just like the Hong kong demonstrators do. Keep the State authorities off balance and guessing. Start whispering campaigns causing confusion on where the A2-ers will strike next.

    🙂

Then the demonstrators have to mount an effective Pst-Ops campaign against governor blackface! Every time he turns around there has to be a group in his face demanding he move out of the Governor’s Mansion. Make it personal and involve his family to add to the pressure. Keep it up and he’ll fold like a cheap deck chair.

    🙂

Yuop Saw that. Actually most of the County administrations and Police Forces are on the side of the angels. Make that abundantly clear in the Pst-Ops campaign. The carrot of praise for counties who uphold the Second and the stick for those urban enclaves who don’t. Be unrelenting and tough and make it personal. It makes them ‘nutty’ and they make mistakes.

    @ coldwarrior:

Joseph Stiglitz, an econ fraud almost on the Krugman level, is running around Davos with a ‘cheat sheet’ he’s handing out. It’s counter-points to Trump’s econ successes and as far as I could tell from what I saw, taken directly from the NYT.

the bread baking experiment continues. am putting together a thread for this for today

  61. 65 | January 21, 2020 9:52 am

Interesting night, Sunday (had to watch the Noodle yesterday as Mom and Dad had to work – because that’s what happens when you’re in retail) so I’m a little late….

    @ coldwarrior:

I have a marvelous Cuisinart bread maker. I need to get a good baking pan – I saw the one you had – getting a new stove in a couple weeks and looking forward to making french bread, which my family loves. Since I assume that is done on a baking sheet, can you make any recommendation as to best baking practice?

    @ The Barbarian:
What do you need to know?

  64. 68 | January 21, 2020 10:23 am

I use a bread maker to mix and knead the dough, but I’m wondering if in the case of making artesian breads and french bread, which can’t be baked in a breadmaker, if there is any special tips for baking in an oven. Is using convection a good idea? Glass pan or metal pan with parchment paper? Best flours, maybe? I haven’t tried making anything but regular white/wheat bread, which bakes in the breadmaker.

  65. 69 | January 21, 2020 10:26 am

Basic bread recipe (very similar to the French/Italian recipe we use at work)
    4 and 1/2 cups flour
    2 tsp salt
    1 tblsp sugar
    1 tsp yeast
3 tblsps Oil (I prefer olive and you can up or down the amount depending on your tastes)
1 1/3 cup of warm water (here’s the tricky part)
As to the water. It depends on how hard your water is. The harder the water, the more of it you need. I am tending to use 1 and 2/3 cups of water to get a decent dough. Sometimes almost two cups.

If you have a mixer (recommended) mix at a low speed for about 3-4 minutes with the dough hook. then for about 5 minutes at a higher speed.
Turn out of the bowl and round into a ball, cover with a plastic sheet and let sit for about ten minutes allowing the autolyse to set in (makes it easy to work with after). Or let it sit for an hour to rise first until it’s doubled in size.
Punch down and shape it as you desire (for making a french loaf (or italian) roll it out long). Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and let rise for about another hour. Humidity helps with this. Better the humidity the better the rise. Proofing features on ovens help, with a bowl of boiled water.
If proofing in an oven, remove after it’s risen to the size you desire and let rest for ten minutes uncovered.
Preheat oven to about 400 degrees or more.
Cut bread however you like (three diagonal slashes for french, long straight one down the center for italian)
Place in oven, spray floor with water and set temperature to 375 and bake for 30+ minutes.

    @ The Barbarian:
Convection works best, all purpose flour is all that’s needed for regular bread.

Should we be worried that all the democratic presidential candidates combined have raised far more money than Trump has? Is there enough Trump Derangement Syndrome out there that we could be stuck with one of these lunatics starting next January?
