so, in regards to mail in ballots

is there a time limit on how long ballots can be received or does it go on until the Democrats get enough to “win”

That’s actually the key. What those various state laws say is irrelevant. Some district judge will order them to keep accepting ballots until next year if that’s what it takes.

Look at this video. It was posted by Greg Kelly of Newsmax about half an hour ago.

The exodus of New York. Big lines this morning at UHAUL. CATASTROPHIC setbacks in quality of life —-people have had enough.

    https://twitter.com/gregkellyusa/status/1299708819036143620

So, reading the comments there. Is this really a demographic exodus or are those people just moving within NYC? Some are claiming it is just the end of the month in August and this happens every year, others are claiming that this is different and there are 14K empty apartments in the city – something that never happens.

  34. eaglesoars
    35 | August 29, 2020 11:52 am

    @ AZfederalist:

It’s both. But the exodus is driving the intra-city moves. Without people leaving, the housing availability wouldn’t be there at the price/cost it is.

Hubby just talked to his son who lives in upstate NY. His household bills are now thru the roof. Water is $1000 a year, his elec bill doubled, property taxes are rising as are school taxes.

All this fundamentally is because so many businesses have shut down, the normal revenue stream is now a trickle so they are raising the price of everything to make up for it. He had to make a trip to a small town nearby, Macidon, and said EVERYTHING is boarded up. The town is not coming back.

Remember that piece published anonymously, “Flight 93 Election”? We later found out it was written by Michael Anton.

He’s written another. Caveat: It’s long but worth it.

    https://amgreatness.com/2020/08/28/a-tyranny-perpetual-and-universal/

    A Tyranny Perpetual and Universal?

But this essay is about what might happen should he lose.

The most plausible outcome would be a return to the “neoliberal” consensus and trajectory circa 2015. A more precise name might be “managerial leftist-libertarianism,” for this governing ideology is top-down, bureaucratic, and anti-democratic, committed to social engineering and grievance politics, while undermining virtue and promoting vice. But that’s something of a mouthful, and “neoliberal,” for better or worse, has gained widespread acceptance.

Neoliberalism elevates as a matter of “principle” the international over the national; it rejects the latter as narrow, particular, cramped, even bigoted, and celebrates the former as cosmopolitan and enlightened.
    .
    .
The economy will become even more artificial and jury-rigged. We shall test supposed iron laws of economic gravity—for instance, whether it’s possible to maintain a fiat currency indefinitely with endless money printing and whether the dollar can long maintain its global reserve status. The longer the rigging goes on, the more rigging will be required.

Overall, the economy will become more techified, more financialized, more concentrated at the coasts, and more unequal. Expect the rich to get a lot richer and the middle class to disappear. Wages will fall.

COVID-19 has been a godsend to the oligarchs, who are licking their chops as one small business after another fails, leaving Americans with no choice but to spend whatever money they have with corporate behemoths.

And with a $20 trillion debt, taxes will rise

One of them proposed a communication press release to me about a state of affairs. In his justification was a line of reasoning that I thought was unfair to taxpayers. I objected to the language and he over rode me saying the communication needed to be disruptive. I was shocked that he used the term. And and disappointed he thought it was right. He won. And set the tone for the agency in communications. He had 5 years interning with a SOROS org on the east coast.

I also got into it with his co workers about the term nuclear family. It didn’t exist to them. Apparently it is no longer taught in the college curriculum they were taking.

I was also in several of those “bad to be white” seminars being team coached by a group out of Canada with black volunteer (leaders in training). I made a fairly innocent objection I thought to the psychology. I was told to be quiet and to take my conversation out in the hallway after the seminar. Where the group could focus on me. I perceived this as a threat to my livelihood and just agreed with them. To get out of there as soon as possible.

I was in the military and was trained will by a lot of young black sergeants. I trained many young black co workers in my org. But the leadership? A bunch of victimized whiners who got promoted for what reason?

I was on several job review boards where we were informed behind closed doors and unofficially by senior management that we were not to hire a white male. We were to find a way to disqualify them. There is a hint of “or else” This is all illegal. And all hidden. Hidden so the leaders can honestly deny anything like that happens. A lot of those people we hired were train wreaks.

And there was a time we were required to sign a binding work agreement from HR that we would use pronouns that were appropriate.

When Trump is reelected he should just cancel all federal HR department and re roll them. Same for the civil rights agencies. They all have ugly motives.

When Trump leaves office, this is something he should consider doing – start a new media company.

Former No 10 adviser Sir Robbie Gibb launches a TV rival to ‘woke wet BBC’ while Rupert Murdoch also plans a news channel as broadcaster faces further pressure in the wake of its Rule Britannia debacle

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8677567/Top-Tory-Sir-Robbie-Gibb-launches-TV-rival-woke-wet-BBC.html

I’m not clear on the details, but the background is there was some televised event in which their national anthem is normally played but the woke BBC decided it was racist and colonial, so substituted some politically correct b.s. music over vociferous objections from the British people (who have to pay a fee if they own a TV).

Don’t count on the military following the COC. THe officer corp will obediently follow. After being ordered to start shooting on their fellow Americans the military will start breaking apart along the same lines as the rest of the country. Tensions were already ridiculously high under Clinton when I was in. We were having constant fights breaking out in the clubs along racial lines thanks to the Rodney King crap. A lot of hardcore black racists manage to get to prominent positions within the NCO and officer ranks. It’s very visible and a lot of people suffer under the abuse of these people. National Guard isn’t much difference. I served in the Guard too and we were just as likely to turn our guns on those giving those orders if the orders went against our beliefs. Good old boys stay good old boys. They want to do their time and drink their beer then go back to their day to day lives. You upset that, you upset them. You endanger their family, god, or guns, you unleash hell.

Things will never go as smoothly as the dems think in their glorious revolution. That’s partially why they have been moving so slowly the past 100 years. I have a lot of veteran friends whose facebook pages have posts reminding BLM that if they want to really start a war, there are more trained vets than there are BLM members.

I’m ok with questions. Yes about that time. I was also working in a cubicle and had Obama voting employees canvassing me. Which was illegal at my job. I hesitated and all of a sudden two of my close co workers were in my cubicle interrogating me about my thoughts about Obama. I always tell people I am a libertarian. Its not a real lie. I’ve been registered in all three parties.

My type of job was not served well by being political. As I gave customer services to the whole range of human beings. But all these Democrats insist that all work should be political.

I’ve come to think of Democrats as monsters. Real ones. Who deny and point the monster finger at Trump. The reason I don’t like to ID myself is that it would make family dinners and friday nights out pretty awkward. Nothing serious, just friends can’t take Trump.

OK some background to the “Proms”

The Proms, or the BBC Proms, more formally known as the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts,[1][2][3] is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London. The Proms were founded in 1895, and are now organised and broadcast by the BBC. Each season consists of concerts in the Royal Albert Hall, chamber music concerts at Cadogan Hall, additional Proms in the Park events across the UK on the Last Night of the Proms, and associated educational and children’s events. The season is a significant event in British culture and in classical music. Czech conductor Jiří Bělohlávek described the Proms as “the world’s largest and most democratic musical festival”.[4]

Prom is short for promenade concert, a term which originally referred to outdoor concerts in London’s pleasure gardens, where the audience was free to stroll around while the orchestra was playing. In the context of the BBC Proms, promming refers to the use of the standing areas inside the hall (the Arena and Gallery) for which ticket prices are much lower than for the seating. Proms concert-goers, particularly those who stand, are sometimes referred to as “Prommers” or “Promenaders”.

Part three. Traditionally on the last night of the proms several musical pieces are played. One of which is “Land of Hope and Glory” and this is what is now being objected to.

Here is a 2012 video of the last night of the Proms from 2012 which is also broadcast to a London park. Hyde Park to be exact.

Take note of the outside crowd. Also more importantly take note of the diversity of flags waved. If you took a sip of alcohol every time you saw a different nationality flag and even if you were drinking Bud Lite you would be drunk as a skunk before the end.

In case anyone missed me (as if), I’ve been out at El Morro National Monument since Friday evening. Got back a little while ago. I wanted to see how the trailer does in an off-grid campsite.

Suffice it to say that the batteries the dealer installed are crap. Even with the built-in solar, I didn’t make it through 36 hours before the batteries were dead. And that’s just using the basic stuff–lights, water pump, radio, etc–not the microwave or A/C. I got up this morning and couldn’t even turn on the lights. I ended up having to connect the power cable to my SUV just to be able to retract the slide-out and the awning.

I knew that I was eventually going to spring for a set of lithium batteries, since I want the extra capacity. That was just pathetic, though. First thing I did when I got home was to go online and order the new ones.

It explains why BLM protests happen around the world. There are no peaceful protestors in this scenario. The peaceful protestor is the nice looking young woman who knocks on the door with an innocent story of needing to use the phone. Open the door and the thug accomplice rushes in. Ted Wheeler and Jenny Durkan and De Blasio approve of this process. With the internet they are putting everyone’s children at risk in this country.

Nobody throws in a set of lithium ion batteries with a trailer. Some dealers don’t even give you batteries at all. Camping World charges $495 for a set of generic batteries and a battery box, basically. The batteries retail for about $75 apiece, and the battery box is about $20. I guess they’re charging $325 for installation. One reason I didn’t buy from them.

The batteries I just ordered run $999 apiece. Fortunately, I had a 15% discount code, so I saved $300, and shipping is free. Still, $1698 is a lot of money for a pair of batteries.

They should give me about 4 times the usable power, though. I should be able to run off-grid for 4-5 days at a time. And when I upgrade the solar array, it’ll become basically indefinite in this part of the country, since we average 300 days a year of sun.

By all means, let’s bring on that “Green New Deal”:

Even when recycling happens, there’s a lot of room for improvement. A solar panel is essentially an electronic sandwich. The filling is a thin layer of crystalline silicon cells, which are insulated and protected from the elements on both sides by sheets of polymers and glass. It’s all held together in an aluminum frame. On the back of the panel, a junction box contains copper wiring that channels electricity away as it’s being generated.

At a typical e-waste facility, this high-tech sandwich will be treated crudely. Recyclers often take off the panel’s frame and its junction box to recover the aluminum and copper, then shred the rest of the module, including the glass, polymers, and silicon cells, which get coated in a silver electrode and soldered using tin and lead. (Because the vast majority of that mixture by weight is glass, the resultant product is considered an impure, crushed glass.) Tao and his colleagues estimate that a recycler taking apart a standard 60-cell silicon panel can get about $3 for the recovered aluminum, copper, and glass. Vanderhoof, meanwhile, says that the cost of recycling that panel in the US is between $12 and $25—after transportation costs, which “oftentimes equal the cost to recycle.” At the same time, in states that allow it, it typically costs less than a dollar to dump a solar panel in a solid-waste landfill.

“We believe the big blind spot in the US for recycling is that the cost far exceeds the revenue,” Meng said. “It’s on the order of a 10-to-1 ratio.”
