NCAA Football Week 12 Open

Filed under College Football, Open thread at November 20th, 2020 - 4:00 pm

There was no week 11 as WP ate my post. But, they can’t de-platform us, so we’re good.

I’m even after 12 weeks of this Covid Nonsense, frankly…I’m about ready to call Shenanigans an this whole year.

Let’s get to it:

ESPN’s website is all jacked and I can’t get to the point spreads…i’ll have to update that later.

#9 Indiana at #3 Ohio State 12:00 PM…IU beat PSU and Michigan…Yes…IU…if they beat OSU as well…then it’s the end times and Judgement Day is upon us. Gird yinz’s loins, n’at.

#10 Wisconsin at #19 Northwestern 3:30 PM…NW is ranked. It is, in fact, Armageddon.

Iowa at Penn State 3:30 PM…PSU is 0-4 And now we have this. Franklin’s days are numbered.

#14 Oklahoma State at #18 Oklahoma 7:30 PM…BEDLAM!!!! This is always a great game.

#21 Liberty at NC State 7:30 PM…you read that right. Liberty? Ranked??? I’m getting an apocalypse vibe…

About 20 mins ago – not sure what doc is being referred to

Let me be very clear about the document that Governor Brian Kemp just signed. He just signed a document that allows the state Democrat Party to choose the electors for all of Georgia—while there is pending litigation and no check of signatures. Traitor. Imploded the GOP here.

    @ eaglesoars:

No, but I guess there was one planned, now put on hold.

I’m back in school full time, so not really around any truckers, truck stops, or former coworkers now driving for a living.

They definitely have a point. Consolidation has left a lot of smaller operators out of work, while the big firms pay drivers relative peanuts – especially compared to even recent past. Driving for these large carriers often doesn’t even get middle-class wages in 2020, and when you combine that with increased personal liability on the drivers themselves and impossible regulations it makes for a mess. Also fewer people willing to make the sacrifices to become OTR drivers.

Look at the trend of ambulance chaser advertising being directed at trucks.

Locally, I mostly talked to frac sand and water haulers. Sand drivers can make great money, but the schedules are brutal. It’s also highly competitive, and you’ll see guys come from all of the country coming to haul in the producing basins.

Listening to the CB traffic over the past couple of years until my layoff, I can tell you that the long haul freight guys were getting saltier and saltier.

Also, there’s probably more R & D money going into self-driving trucks right now than any other area of AI, if I were to hazard a guess.

Scott Adams is saying this is to run roughshod over conservatives if Trumps case isn’t a clear and decisive one. The SC doesn’t want to upset the election applecart.

To me that would mean they want to kick the fraud can down the road and let everyday people bear the cost of that. An institutional fail. If that logic was in place in the Revolutionary war we wouldn’t have a country today.

#Germany has fallen. Their government passed a law REMOVING their Constitutional Rights. Police can now enter their homes for any reason. They have lost the right to assemble. It looks like hundreds of thousands are protesting in #Berlin

I know. And I’ve wondered if that’s about family heritage. You and I seem to ‘slip into the stream’ without problems but we have a very similar background. If that is a factor, then that Smith has had the impact he’s had says everything. When I studied, economics and philosophy were not cross-taught. Plato and Sartre – forget Hegel – were not economic voices. Veblen was the closest I got. Nobody made the connection.

Dramatically change policing by outlawing “tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper bullets, pepper spray, flash bangs, long range acoustic devices (LRADs), Stingrays, lasers, and any other ‘less than lethal’ forms of crowd control” as well as drones, body cameras, tasers and facial recognition software.

If police can’t use pepper spray or tasers, that pretty much leaves shooting people who won’t comply.

And they want to ban body cameras now? Why, because they show that most of their claims about cops are lies?

I did the TNR thing here for two feral cats. Oh TNR for those who do not know is Trap Neuter and Release. The idea is then there is a stable non breeding cat population that discourages breeding cats to infiltrate the territory. If you just round up all feral cats and kill them all that happens is other cats move in.

Anyway what happened with the two TNR cats I did, and they have their ears clipped, was they decided they were now house cats.

The ear clipping is to let animal control to not capture any stray/feral cats.

Judge Dismisses Trump Lawsuit Seeking to Delay Certification in Pennsylvania

In a scathing order, a federal judge rejected the Trump campaign’s claim of widespread improprieties with mail-in ballots, removing a major legal hurdle to certifying Joseph R. Biden’s Jr.’s victory there.

A federal judge in Pennsylvania dismissed on Saturday night a lawsuit by the Trump campaign that had claimed there were widespread improprieties with mail-in ballots in the state, ending the last major effort to delay the certification of Pennsylvania’s vote results, which is scheduled to take place Monday.

In a scathing order, Judge Matthew W. Brann wrote that Mr. Trump’s campaign, which had asked him to effectively disenfranchise nearly seven million voters, should have come to court “armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption” in its efforts to essentially nullify the results of Pennsylvania’s election.

But instead, Judge Brann complained, the Trump campaign provided only “strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations” that were “unsupported by evidence.”

This is how Wikipedia added to Judge Brann’s biography on its page just now: “He became briefly famous when he presided over a case which was part of President Trump’s attempt to steal Pennsylvania’s presidential electors.”

Nope. Each flip is pretty close to 50/50. It’s not exactly even because one side of the coin is slightly heavier.

I can flip a quarter heads (or tails) as many times in a row as I want… unless it lands on the floor.

On TV she was saying that on Friday she would file her case. Other Trump lawyers were saying Tuesday.

It looks like a communications decision to me. Talk to Rudy and Ellis first. Let Wood and Powell do their thing.

The press release reads crappy to me. Reads amateurish. I have expectations of loyalty to Powell and Wood from President Trump and his whole team.

I was seeing Powell as the central lawyer. And maybe that became the issue.

There is unprecedented energy in this affair. Even hot shot lawyers can get distracted and pulled off their focus. That is where Trump has to lead.

Maybe this is a clarification that does that? Rudy need to let someone else lead. He looks shaky to me every time I watch him.

I guess we know for sure by the end of this week.

Powell was on TV a lot. I assumed it was at the request of the President. That seems to be a wrong assumption.

I’d like a line to be drawn between what is corrupt and what is not so much. Line in the sand. A lot of people moving to the wrong side of that line because they fear for their job stability.
