Court Records Show Eco-Terrorist Letter Received by Forest Service Was Sent by Biden’s Bureau of Land Management Nominee

Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming responded critically to nominee Tracy Stone-Manning’s role in sending a threatening letter on behalf of an environmentalist group that committed tree spiking crimes in 1989.

“Tracy Stone-Manning collaborated with eco-terrorists,” Barrasso said, according to the Daily Caller. “She worked with extreme environmental activists who spiked trees, threatening the lives and livelihoods of loggers.

    We may have a problem

The US government has spent the past week assessing a report of a leak at a Chinese nuclear power plant, after a French company that part owns and helps operate it warned of an “imminent radiological threat,” according to US officials and documents reviewed by CNN.

The warning included an accusation that the Chinese safety authority was raising the acceptable limits for radiation detection outside the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong province in order to avoid having to shut it down, according to a letter from the French company to the US Department of Energy obtained by CNN.
Despite the alarming notification from Framatome, the French company, the Biden administration believes the facility is not yet at a “crisis level,” one of the sources said.
While US officials have deemed the situation does not currently pose a severe safety threat to workers at the plant or Chinese public, it is unusual that a foreign company would unilaterally reach out to the American government for help when its Chinese state-owned partner is yet to acknowledge a problem exists.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/14/politics/china-nuclear-reactor-leak-us-monitoring/index.html

    Knock on effects

An indefinite shutdown at Taishan would have many knock-on effects.

The lack of power for the manufacturing sector is a worry – hydropower availability is down as well.

60K+ factories and multiple ports are affected.

Blackouts will dramatically increase food spoilage, as well.

    Good thread by

showing how bad the situation is at Yantian.

28-30% of all PRC exports comes from just a few ports in South China.

The impact of this port closure will be more disruptive to global trade over the next 3-6 months than the Suez Canal blockage was.

Well, I just got a letter today from the IRS showing that the Biden admin is setting things up for discontent again. I’ve been hearing about a “plan’ to give people 200 dollars a month per child and had a funny feeling about it knowing this administration. Well, finally the initial letter came in today. Sure enough the money is “borrowing” from your child tax credit in your tax return. If you do not opt out when they finally decide to send those instructions to you, then you will not have half of your child tax credit in your tax return because you already received it.

How many brainless Biden supporters will actually read and understand this info? They will just rage when their tax return is smaller than expected.

Israel OKs contentious Jerusalem march, weeks after war

Israel’s new government on Monday approved a contentious parade by Israeli nationalists through Palestinian areas around Jerusalem’s Old City, setting the stage for possible renewed confrontations just weeks after an 11-day war with Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. Hamas called on Palestinians to “resist” the march.

The parade, scheduled for Tuesday, creates an early test for the fledgling government led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett — a patchwork of parties that includes hard-line nationalists as well as the first Arab party to sit in a governing coalition.

Too funny… I suppose it’s good that I can’t play the piano. My girlfriend wouldn’t approve of me working (or otherwise) in one. Though there was that time in Portland Oregon when a “working girl” picked me for a target…. I’ll give you the back story and ramble a bit, since you’re a computer “geek” too.
When I worked for IBM, I was one the gurus on the Series/1 general purpose computers. It was one of the first, if not first modular computer, you could configure/build them to do anything you wanted them to do or could think of them to do. The computers in the Space Shuttle were based on them. Most of the other techs were scared of them because all the diagnostic interaction was in hexadecimal and many had no terminal to interface with them. We had a box we had to connect to access them. Here’s a picture of the box.
    http://www.dvq.com/oldcomp/ibm/Series1/medium/ibm-series1-6.JPG
For awhile I even dreamed in Hex.

Any way, I was sent to Portland to install one at ADP, as a front end processor. Some how the computer got lost, in a warehouse in Portland, as it turns out, it took them a week to find it in a corner of the warehouse. Meanwhile, I’m stuck in the hotel. So I get to know the bartender in the hotel bar, nice lady. One evening a nice looking “lady” in a business suit sits down next to me and starts chatting me up. We talk for a couple of hours or so before she needs a pit-stop. While she is in the restroom the bartender tells me that she’s a hooker, I replied “I knew that when she sat down” the bartenders face dropped and she walked away. The “lady” comes back and after another hour, suggests we go to my room. When we got to my room she said it’s $100, I said “Oh, no It’s $150, I’m a working man, I’ve got to cover the cost of the room too”. She freaks out, complaining about how many hours she has wasted and I can at least pay her taxi fare. I came back with, “you wasted several hours of my time and I still have to pay my hotel bill, I’m a working man and have to go back and try to find a trick to cover it, she was pissed off. So, I go back to the bar (the exchange took less then 3-5 minutes), sit at the bar and order another scotch. The bartender say’s, “well that was quick”. I told her what I had done and she started rolling laughing. From then on the first drink was on her.
As an aside, I met Clarence Williams III at that same hotel bar, they were shooting The Last Innocent Man. Hellva nice guy, he sat down next to me in the bar, wearing a white navy hat with the brim down and dark sunglasses. When he opened his mouth I spotted that gap in his front teeth and remarked “You’re Clarence Williams”. He spent most of the time talking about their adopted children and his family life. After we met, when ever he saw me, he would sit next to me and continue our conversation. He was a genuine nice guy. He invited me to come watch the shooting the next day. The next morning they found the computer and I had to go to work. And that’s another story…

This is the SECOND time I’ve seen this about Wells Fargo today

BREAKING: Wells Fargo Cancels Lauren Witzke’s Bank Account, Leaves Her Stranded Out of State With No Money

In a post on Telegram, Witzke, who ran as the Republican candidate for the Senate in Delaware in the 2020 elections, revealed that Wells Fargo had completely shut down her bank account, removing all of her money from the system, leaving her with a “zero balance” instead. In a call with the bank, Witzke was informed that the action taken was a purely “business decision,” and that they have the right to close her account down at any time. “Had I not been surrounded by friends in Florida, I would be completely stranded,” she wrote, as she would be stuck out of state with absolutely no money at all.

    https://nationalfile.com/breaking-wells-fargo-cancels-lauren-witzkes-bank-account-leaves-her-stranded-out-of-state-with-no-money/

    Basically, they stole her money

The first time was a tweet by (I think) Pete D’Abrosco but I can’t find it now.

    ah, here we go

BREAKING: Wells Fargo Cancels American Greatness Writer Pete D’Abrosca’s Account Moments After Canceling Lauren Witzke

    https://nationalfile.com/breaking-wells-fargo-cancels-american-greatness-writer-pete-dabroscas-account-moments-after-canceling-lauren-witzke/

The conservative commentator told National File that Wells Fargo had refused to cut him a check in person containing the balance of his account, telling him that a check was already in the mail. When D’Abrosca asked if they could cancel the check and write him a new one, the bank refused, citing the fact that his account was already closed.

“I have three accounts with Wells Fargo, a personal checking, a business checking, and a savings account,” D’Abrosca noted. “The personal savings account is the only account that they banned, so I have two other accounts, I can use my debit card right now. It seems like somebody’s just messing with us. It’s almost as if there’s some cheap diversity moron, or maybe somebody on a rung lower, who has the power and has a list and who is like, ‘Delete, delete, delete.’”

D’Abrosca told National File that he is currently in contact with his attorney, and plans to pursue any available legal action that can be taken.

If he starts a gofundme for legal fees, I’m in for $50

    And this is very sweet

Novak Djokovic took another step towards cementing his GOAT status with an incredible five-set win over Stefanos Tsitsipas to claim Grand Slam title No. 19. But the real highlight was a young fan’s reaction when the Serb gave him his racket after the match.

The boy was overwhelmed with emotion, absolutely losing it as the cameras zoomed in.

“He was in my ear the entire match, basically, especially when I was two sets to love down,” Djokovic said at his post-match press conference. “He was encouraging me, he was actually giving me tactics as well.

“He was coaching me, literally, and I found that very cute and very nice. To give the racket to the best person was him, after the match, that was my gratitude to him sticking with me and supporting me.”

Then, of course, the French fucked it up

Footage of the exchange quickly went viral, receiving millions of views on social media. However, the French Tennis Federation later pulled down the video from accounts that had shared it, citing a copyright infringement.

    Straight to SCOTUS

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, surrounded by state legislators and Jewish leaders, visited a South Florida Jewish temple to denounce anti-Semitism and stand with Israel. The Republican governor cloaked himself in religion Monday while signing a bill into law that would require public schools in his state to set aside at least one minute of silence for children to meditate or pray.

From the “This is very cool” file

This ‘Vegan Spider Silk’ Could Replace Most Single-Use Plastics

Researchers from the University of Cambridge may have a viable solution to the single-use plastic dilemma: spider silk. Or, more accurately, a plant-based synthetic polymer that mimics the composition of spider silk, but doesn’t actually come from the eight-legged arthropods.

The researchers modeled their polymer after spider silk due to its durability and strength—if you could scale up a spiderweb to human size, it would be capable of trapping an airplane. In fact, spider silk is five times stronger than steel, and half as strong as Kevlar; it’s considered one of the strongest naturally occurring materials on Earth.
