    of course

Title 42 is a CDC public health authority that allows U.S. border officials to turn back migrants due to the danger of communicable diseases.

The Biden administration wants to end Title 42, despite low vax rates in other countries.

A federal judge in Manhattan tossed an indictment against a Bronx shooting suspect because of a lack of racial diversity in the White Plains grand jury pool — the first such ruling since city cases were moved to the suburban county amid the pandemic.

So my favorite whack job, Marjorie Taylor Greene, was on warroom. She said her staff noticed that the National Children’s Museum website was showing a lot of critical race theory crap. Their remit is supposed to be about STEM and the arts.

So MTG calls the director, Crystal, and reads her the riot act. They’ve got a bill pending, $10 mil for 10 years, that pays their bills and she threatened to knock it down. Crystal went into a panic and took everything down. Then, when she thought the storm had passed, put everything back in. MTG voted against the bill but it passed anyway. The museum got its money

Well, as MTG was telling this story – guess what went got changed again? (altho climate change crap is still there)

Bannon has invited Crystal to come on his show.

Sometimes I think he has had a few drinks. His shows in one day are repetitive. I used to listen to 3 in a day but a lot of the content is recycled. So I just started listening to the last show of the day.

Johnny Carson used to say you can only tell a joke three times before it starts to get stale. The bannon podcast will tell a joke 20 times. And they will repeat a cliche over and over.

It probably helps some people with content retention but it can get excessive.

Joe Rogan repeats content all the time until you know what’s coming.

“We are experiencing higher than normal call volume; all of our representatives are assisting other callers. Your call is very important to us and we appreciate your business. Please continue to hold and the next available representative will be with you. [cue annoying background musak]”

Oh, and the really cheeky ones add:
“Did you know that you can resolve most problems by visiting our website? Please go to http://www.wedontgiveacrapaboutservice.com and check out our FAQ’s [that won’t provide any information remotely close to your problem]”

Funny thing, if it happens at every place you call, and every time you call, it is not “higher than normal” call volume.

That’s the problem. The low-level drone on the phone is not responsible for the mess caused by corporate or government policies. Yelling at the help is never helpful and they can sometimes be quite vindictive; we had a family friend who had a year-long trip through child protective service hell just because she got impatient with some hospital staffers.

… and that’s the problem, we don’t have any access the to bozos who are responsible for mucking everything up. Heck, we no longer have that in government. Nobody really believes that Biden is actually the person in charge; problem is, we really don’t know who is in charge and making the policy calls.

I learned early on in my career the type of person I wanted to work for and I tried to be that kind of person when I was team lead (I was always team lead).

The one time I really DID go off is when our auto insurance was cancelled. We got a notice from Virginia. WHAT?? I took a day off work to track that down to an agent who blew off an arbitration meeting about an accident we never had, never knew a claim had been filed, and stuck us with the bill.

Virginia has an insurance arbitration/compliance thingy, we had a lawyer friend, and by the time I was done with him he was out of a job. We got a letter apologizing from the VP and I sent it back with a penny taped to it “the last penny you will ever see from us”. I don’t want to mention any names but the initials are ITT Hartford.

Good news was she had lots of friends and character witnesses to help resolve it. They still had to go through parenting classes to get charges dropped. I lost what little respect I had for government officials after seeing that.

Tallies released Tuesday afternoon indicated that Kathryn Garcia had come within 2.2 points of leading Democratic candidate Eric Adams after ranked-choice tabulations were processed. But, shortly after the results were released, reporters and campaign staffers noticed there were roughly 135,000 more votes counted than those reported on election night.

Lockheed’s F-35 topples competition in Swiss fighter contest

Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter has emerged victorious in Switzerland’s $6.5 billion fighter competition, beating out entrants from Eurofighter, Dassault and Boeing.

Over the course of the program, Switzerland plans to spend up to 6 billion Swiss francs (U.S. $6.5 billion) to buy 36 F-35A conventional-takeoff-and-landing models to replace its aging Hornet fleet, the government announced Wednesday.

Switzerland will also purchase five Patriot missile defense systems from Raytheon Technologies, which defeated the SAMP/T system from France’s Eurosam.

t a time that sees a major push by radical Maoris for ‘Ethnic Nationalism’ read tribal capture of all facets of civil society by ‘flip flan’ huckster Maori would be elitists on the make. There is a Maori equivalent of Child Protective Services who just got hung out to dry over video clips of large male staff beating and assaulting Maori children in their care. This adds to the recent reports of major financial theft by tribal elders and political operatives in this organisation.

NZ is fast approaching an inflexion point where it will become either an ‘Ethic National’ driven polity ( see Lebanon on steroids)or a ‘Democratic National’ driven entity.

Nancy Pelosi was visiting a primary school in Tampa and visited a grade four class. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.

The teacher asked Mrs. Pelosi if she would like to lead the discussion on the word ‘tragedy.’ So our illustrious Democrat asked the class for an example of a ‘tragedy’.

One little boy stood up and offered: “If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs him over and kills him, that would be a tragedy.”

“No,” said Pelosi , “that would be an accident.”

A little girl raised her hand: “If a school bus carrying 50 children drove off a cliff, killing everyone, that would be a tragedy.”

“I’m afraid not,” explained Pelosi .
“That’s what we would call great loss.”

The room went silent. No other child volunteered. Pelosi searched the room.
“Isn’t there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?”
Finally at the back of the room, Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher held her breath.

In a quiet voice he said: “If the plane carrying you was struck by a ‘friendly fire’ missile and blown to smithereens that would be a tragedy.”
“Fantastic!” exclaimed Pelosi , “That’s right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?”

“Well,” says Johnny, “It has to be a tragedy, because it sure as hell wouldn’t be a great loss … and you can bet your sweet ass it wouldn’t be an accident either!” The teacher left the room

    Big win in SCOTUS

First up was Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee concerning Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. Justice Alito wrote for the Court’s conservatives, concluding that Arizona’s laws prohibiting ballot harvesting and limiting out-of-precinct voting did not violate the VRA and that these provisions were not enacted with a discriminatory purpose. The implication of this decision is that Section 2 claims against state voting laws must be based upon disparate treatment claims, and the evidence of disparate impact on minority groups is insufficient. Justice Gorsuch wrote a brief concurrence joined by Justice Thomas. Justice Kagan dissented on behalf of the Court’s liberals.

We have suddenly got this crazy push to jab children when the jab and stab program can’t even get it sorted out for adults. Sounds like a global push from some extra global agency or group with a one size fits all fixation. Under 18s do NOT have a problem with this virus so leave them the hell alone. There’s a bit of a learning curve with it. You definitely have to use that strap that’s on the forend, because if your hand slips, it’s in front of the muzzle. I’m thinking that would be painful 🙂

Once you get the hang of it, it actually shoots pretty well. It doesn’t spread much more than the more common 18 1/2 inch barrels you see on most “tactical” shotguns.

They’ve never been super common to start with, and then the whole gun and ammo market went to hell. I could have gotten one sooner if I’d wanted to pay twice the MSRP for it.

There’s a dealer in Quantico I’ve gotten several guns from in the past, and they sent me an email when they got a shipment of Shockwaves in. As soon as I got the message, I went to their site and bought one before they all disappeared.

The recoil is manageable once you get the hang of it. It’s a lot easier to shoot than a shotgun with a pistol grip, because of the grip angle.

There’s a trick to it, though. You basically hold it like you’re trying to stretch the gun. You pull back with your firing hand, just like you would if it had a shoulder stock. At the same time, you pull forward with the support hand, which is counterintuitive.

Listen to VDH talk about Oprah being a victim.

Just place a checkbox on the tax return. Let a taxpayer officially designate themselves as any type of victim. Then we have a database of them.

    Register them to vote.
    Take away their gun rights.
    Vaccinate them.
Give their kids an extra 10 hours of schooling a week.
Restrict them to fast food jobs until they can declare themselves a winner with some degree of gratefulenss.

Senator Beach: “I think it’s going to be so overwhelming in Fulton, I think it’s going to be anywhere from 17 to 34 thousand ballots it’s going to tell the story… Then I think we can ask for our 16 electoral college votes back and park em here…”

Fredericks: “So you have the authority to just basically decertify your 16 electoral votes? Don’t give them to Trump, just park them here?”

Senator Beach: “Bring em back and park em in Georgia, and then if Arizona would do that, and if a couple of other states did that and it got below 270, then the 12th Amendment would kick in and Congress would have to act.”

Interesting mindgame, but that’s about it IMO.

Haven’t been home for much of the day but the initial reports were hilarious. People who identified as ‘Rise of the Moors’ saying they didn’t recognize any laws were identified in first reports as – you guessed it – ‘white supremacists’. I gather ‘Moors’ is an unfamiliar term to our over-credentialed ‘betters’. In the pics I saw when they were being arrested, every last one of them was black
