i carry an old sawed-off louisville slugger and a 10lb rubber mallet in my benz (and pretty much the same in all the cars as this has happened to me).
me and dad chalked the tires, put in a second jack and BOOM!!!!! one mighty blow with the slugger freed the tire. after i pulled over to help, a trumpian then pulled over in his F750dieselmonsterliftedtruck to help finish the job. i asked dad how long he was on the side of the road, he said about 10 minutes.
they were from baltimore. if i mention their race…then clearly, me and jim-bob are having white privilege and perhaps should not have pulled over?

I have a sister that lives in Europe. Because of the Chinese Wuhan Virus, I haven’t seen her or her family for 2 years. She’s coming to America next month. She called me over the weekend and started with “I heard that you aren’t vaccinated.” I responded that she is correct. She said that despite the fact that she and her family are all vaccinated, they can’t risk being exposed to me.
I said that I have made a serious healthcare decision that I believe to be in my, and my family’s best interests and that while a regret being able to visit with them in person, I can’t risk having a stroke or dying from a heart attack by taking an experimental, unapproved drug. My dad had a mini stroke from the vaccine as did my business partner’s dad. One of my son’s best friends was hospitalized with life-threatening myocarditis from the vaccine. I have too many people counting on me to add unnecessary risk to my life.
She’s pissed because I won’t just go get vaccinated so I can see them in person. No consideration for me making my own health care decisions. No lip service to “My body, my decisions.” She is thinks that I am being selfish.
I told her that I loved her and that maybe we can get together next year.

I’m glad I’m NOT a herring this morning. There was a herring ball about a mile long and half a mile wide being pushed up against the beach by unseen fish. There were also around 3 – 4000 flocking over lunchtime. The ones to the south were just sitting on the water absolutely full of fish while their mates were in huge flocks actively diving into the water harvesting herring. The whole feeding melee was slowly moving North both underwater and in the air above. Eventually the fish ball ran out of room as the beaches ran into a mountain plonked at 90 degrees to their line. The herring were now trapped on two sides by land and on the deep water side by unseen hungry fish. By then most of the birds had eaten their fill and had flown away or were just bobbing up and down digesting their lunch. I’m surprised that the various large pods of dolphins were not in on the feast.
Today was not a good one for being a herring but everyone else seemed pretty pleased with their lunch!

I see arguments on the left being made that even if we dislike CRT we should be able to debate it in the classrooms. They miss the fact that CRT is propagandizing kindergartners to feel guilty about their race.
I would say it’s an appropriate subject for the textbook that introduces the structure of the Chinese government in a political science class. To me that is 10 th grade minimum.
