IT’S AN OPEN THREAD, DISCUSS WHAT YINZ WANT.

I wondered…should we go with a football thread on the same day as the 20th anniversary of 9/11?

Yes, yes we should.and we should remember as well. We can do both.

**result for week 1 6/8 $1400/$1000***

Pittsburgh at Tennessee 12:00 PM…”Johnny Majors and the Pitt Script When Pitt and Tennessee meet on Saturday (noon ET, ESPN), they’ll honor legendary coach Johnny Majors, who coached at both schools. Former Majors assistant Jackie Sherrill, who succeeded him at Pitt, will serve as the Panthers’ honorary captain.” Well now, my Beloved Panthers versus Rain’s Vols in TN! My Panthers are a 3 point favorite on the road and will cover!

#10 Iowa at #9 Iowa State 4:30 PM…Both Teams ranked and playing for the Corn Trophy! This is gonna be a good one. Iowa State is a 4.5 point favorite, which i find hard to believe, the Hawkeyes cover.

Nothing else is piquing my interest…i might add something later.

Athough…this just might!

Kansas at #17 Coastal Carolina 7:30 PM FRIDAY…CC is a 27 point favorite??? Nah, they wont cover.

Oh god. Now I have to watch football. *sigh*.

    what is this about?

Conflicting media reports from Moscow about why the US ambassador to #Russia has been summoned to the foreign ministry.

. However, a diplomatic source told TASS that the reason for Sullivan’s summons to the Foreign Ministry was US interference in the elections in Russia.

College football takes precedence over the 20th anniversary of the largest attack on U.S. soil in history? How times have changed…

    —————

A friend and her daughter had Covid, both had a blood draws recently, same clinic. Daughter’s test showed immunity, but her mother’s results didn’t.
How can someone who had Covid not have antibodies / T-cells?

  9. 9 | September 10, 2021 2:21 pm

CDC has redefined the definition of “vaccine.”
The definition of herd immunity was also changed by the WHO in January to remove natural infection as a source.

    From the thread below:
    eaglesoars wrote:

The ramifications of extreme compliance are very far-reaching,

Absolutely. One of the worst things that can happen to any team is when one or more of the team members engage in what is termed “malicious compliance”. This is the act of knowing and following all rules, processes, and policies that the company has in place to the last dotted “i” and crossed “t”. That kind of compliance brings program progress to a near stand-still.

    This is pure bullshit

US: Afghan evacuee flights halted from two key bases

The U.S. has halted all U.S.-bound flights of Afghan evacuees from two main bases overseas for unspecified “health safety concerns,” a move U.S. officials warn will have a severe impact on the evacuation operation, according to a U.S. government document seen Friday by The Associated Press.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection made the decision on the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Lewis County General Hospital will stop delivering babies after September 24 because too many maternity unit workers have resigned over COVID vaccination mandates.

That’s according to Lewis County Health System Chief Executive Officer Gerald Cayer, who held a news conference Friday in Lowville.

He said 6 employees in the maternity unit resigned rather than get a COVID shot and another 7 are undecided.

According to Cayer, the hospital will be unable to safely staff the unit and will pause delivering babies after September 24.

He said he hopes this is a temporary situation and will work with the state Department of Health to make sure the unit won’t permanently close.

“If we can pause the service and now focus on recruiting nurses who are vaccinated, we will be able to reengage in delivering babies here in Lewis County,” said Cayer.

Cayer said 165 hospital employees have yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19; that’s 27 percent of the workforce.

Was talking to a friend today who works on a job where everyone is on Fed gov’t contract. They don’t know yet if their company will enforce the mandate but it’s caught between a rock and a hard place. If they don’t enforce it, they lose all their contracts, if they do they’ll lose about half their employees.

    Saturday, 11 September 2021 at 7:25 AM

Twenty Years ago I was the Active Duty Manager for a Texas Air National Guard Special Operations Weather Flight.
    – I had just gotten back to the office from our Ops Group weekly meeting. I heard on the radio that there had been an explosion at the World Trade Center. I remember the last explosion and wondered if it was another Terrorist bombing. I went down to storage and pulled out a small TV from one of the Team kits. I had it set up and tuned in just in time to see the second plane hit live on TV.
I called the Boss at his job and said “We are at war”
He had been watching as well and we started discussing plans for the next two weeks.
I hung up that call and started the Recall Roster…
I notified my unit members to tell their employers to prepare for their absence, and to pack their bags, triple check their gear, and prepare their families.
I then called AFSOC and notified them that all unit members are accounted for and prepared for 72 hour deployment as required.
My first team went out the door in December 2001, our unit had at least one person deployed in support of OEF and OIF from 2001 until I was medically retired in 2010.
While I was in Kabul in 2003 the backstabbing POS that I voted for in 2000 changed the ROE to handcuff the Heroes who won the war, and installed Islam as the government of Afghanistan,
AND started the purge of our military leadership to install the Pro-Islam brigade that runs it today.
I was NOT surprised when bush voted for Hillary or when he voted for biden.

We as a Nation have forgotten 911…
The proof is that we have actual Terrorist sympathizers elected to congress,
    AND
We have a Dictator that actually said for the record that he is losing patience with Law Abiding American Citizens,
And we haven’t Tarred and Feathered him and Strung up those who are controlling him.

Just imagine a World without Islam,
    THEN we could forget 911…
without getting a reminder like the one Dictator biden just set up and paid for…
America has Forgotten, but I can’t.

reason 2,396 for leaving Northern Virginia

Earlier this week, The Daily Wire reported that a school board member whose father was on the board of the mosque attended by 9/11 hijackers and who hired as imam a top Al-Qaeda operative, opposed a resolution honoring the victims of the attacks.

Fairfax County, Virginia, school board member Abrar Omeish lambasted her fellow Democrats for not supporting an “alternative” resolution she had proposed, which had not been made public.
    .
    .
Omeish lives with her father Esam, who was a director of the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, and hired as its imam Anwar al-Awlaki, who former President Barack Obama later ordered to be killed by drone strike. The mosque was attended by two of the 9/11 hijackers as well as the shooter in the 2009 attack on Fort Hood, Texas.

Omeish was the Virginia co-chair of the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. In June, she gave a graduation speech in which she told a mainly-immigrant class of high schoolers that they were entering a world filled with “racism, extreme versions of individualism and capitalism, [and] white supremacy,” and encouraged them to remember their “jihad” and reject the concepts of objectivity and neutrality.

The U.S. drone strike that military officials said targeted a suspected ISIS-K car bomb in Kabul during the final days of the U.S. evacuation effort may have mistakenly targeted an innocent civilian, according to extensive investigations by the New York Times and Washington Post. Ten civilians, including seven children, were reportedly killed in the August 29 airstrike. All were members of the same extended family.

Following the ISIS-K suicide attack that killed 13 U.S. servicemembers and nearly 200 Afghan civilians outside Kabul’s airport on August 26, U.S. officials repeatedly warned that additional terrorist attacks were anticipated at the airport. On August 29, U.S. Central Command announced that it had conducted a drone strike on a suspected terrorist driving a car that seemed to be filled with explosives and was believed to pose an imminent threat to the airport. Military officials suggested that the driver, whom they were not able to identify, had acted suspiciously in the hours before the strike, including a stop at a possible ISIS-K safe house, and loading the car with heavy packages that may have been explosives. The U.S. said that a larger secondary explosion occurred after the drone strike, which would suggest the presence of explosive cargo and seemingly justified targeting the vehicle.

    https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/09/final-u-s-drone-strike-in-kabul-may-have-been-deadly-error.html

So, instead of killing terrorists they killed innocent civilians. Great job////

@ eaglesoars: The man is so invested in the “blame America” section of the political Left, that he — and those who share his opinion — refuse to see that the 19 hijackers were murderous, religious zealots, intent upon murder, and that’s totally different from those who were protesting the outcome of a legal election. Religious zealots who intended to murder, and start more violence, versus protesters. Big difference.

As for Bush, the guy was an establishment pol, who either refused to go far enough, or didn’t think he had the political support to be as vengeful as he should have been.

Record Number of Ships at Southern California Ports

Southern California ports set new records Friday for the number of vessels in port as the pandemic-driven import boom that continues to pressure ports from coast to coast.

The Marine Exchange of Southern California on Friday reported a new record of 134 ships in port, including 74 total ships at anchor and 60 at berth. This sets a new all-time record for the number of ships in port. Among them, 86 are containerships and 55 are at anchor, both of which are also new records. Thirty-one containerships were at berth Friday.

The Marine Exchange reports that all anchorages are full and a number of ships (15 by our count) are drifting.

    https://gcaptain.com/record-number-of-ships-at-southern-california-ports/

Instapundit comment: We are currently paying $12,000+ for a 40 foot container. It was $4,000 less than a year ago.

    Chokepoint strategy.

It all started with a 40-year container terminal lease between the Port of Long Beach in southern California and Hong Kong. The Obama administration proudly signed the agreement in 2012 giving China control of America’s second-largest container port behind the nearby Port of Los Angeles. One of the Trump administration’s first big moves was to get the Communists out of the Port of Long Beach. After a national security review and federal intervention, the Long Beach terminal business, which handles millions of containers annually, is finally being sold to an Australian company called Macquarie Infrastructure Partners. That essentially kills China’s decades-long contract with the Obama administration.

<A man online who goes by the name Alexader Rogers, and says he’s a truck driver, has a warning about these vaccine mandates.

He was responding to a tweet from conservative pundit Jesse Kelly.

Kelly was discussing the mandates, and what a disservice they are to this country, just as a US Army lieutenant colonel has just tendered his resignation over this vaccine mandate from Joe Biden.

New England Journal of Medicine is now officially trash

    https://twitter.com/NEJM/status/1437423327522398208

The Editors announce a new requirement for research studies published in Journal: a supplementary table that provides background information on the condition studied and on the representativeness of the study group.

Physicians often find it challenging to apply the lessons of large research studies to their clinical practice, especially when the research participants do not reflect the racial identity, ethnicity, age, or sex and gender of the physicians’ patients. Strict eligibility criteria for enrollment in a study may exclude relevant participants. The study population may not include groups representing large fractions of those who might be candidates for the trial intervention. This can leave clinicians in a quandary about whether and how to apply the research findings to their own patients, for whom the risk–benefit profile may differ.

PLA jets will eventually patrol over Taiwan: Global Times editorial

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority is determined to latch onto the US and Japan to gang up against the Chinese mainland, and has increasingly kidnapped public opinion on the island, while the US is making more and more frequently strategic manipulations over the Taiwan question. Given these facts the Chinese mainland has to take fundamental measures, engaging in a resolute struggle so that to stop the situation across the Taiwan Straits from deteriorating, deter the DPP authority and its supporters, and firmly seize the strategic initiative of the regional situation.

Sending PLA fighter jets over the island of Taiwan is a step we must tak

Srsly? Klaus Schwab has actually written a book.

    COVID-19: The Great Reset

“COVID-19: The Great Reset” is a guide for anyone who wants to understand how COVID-19 disrupted our social and economic systems, and what changes will be needed to create a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable world going forward. Klaus Schwab, founder and executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and Thierry Malleret, founder of the Monthly Barometer, explore what the root causes of this crisis were, and why they lead to a need for a Great Reset.

Theirs is a worrying, yet hopeful analysis. COVID-19 has created a great disruptive reset of our global social, economic, and political systems. But the power of human beings lies in being foresighted and having the ingenuity, at least to a certain extent, to take their destiny into their hands and to plan for a better future. This is the purpose of this book: to shake up and to show the deficiencies which were manifest in our global system, even before COVID broke out.

much better, i has a week off.

yesterday was day one, after all of those shifts and so many different hospitals i slept from 2330 saturday to 0830 sunday, then 1000-1300, then 1600-1800 sunday, then 2100-0630 this morning. but, i’m still brain dead. during the day yesterday i made fresh tomato sauce from the garden with home made meat balls. it was frankly, killer.

so…EAGLES…i have some tomato seeds drying but i have to wait for the seeds from the basil to be ready. plant the basil amongst the tomato to help prevent pests and to make pesto, and to put on pizza, and such. the basil seeds are 20th generation from our deck and garden we just love it.

this morning was day one of me and my bro playing three days of golf, 18 holes each, walking. stroke play. we tied at 82 (usga rules followed) for 18. the next two days are gonna be rough…he has become really good!

my decks and bar are mess, the honey do list is long…that was a rough 6 week assignment. worth it for the bonus? yeah…the vacation next year is paid for

max had his front axle beyond hamilton’s rear axle. that’s the rule for hamilton to give room, it has always been that way. FOR EVER

    except now, again

yet again, everyone mus be at fault EXCEPT the black driver. i’ve watched F1 for 30 years, I’ve been to 3 F1 races!!! hamilton was wrong, no mater the gyrations of the race stewarts.

oh, and btw, hamilton was out sick last year and mercedes brought up a rookie to drive his car, the rookie was way out in front UNTIL….the damndest thing ever occurred, the pit crew put on mis-matched tires!!!!

(hards on one side and medium on the other) I have NEVER seen this happen EVER in ANY RACING, EVER! so, winning race rookie has to do a lap and go back to pits and lose the race. this pit ‘mistake’ cannot happen because he tires have to be scanned in before they are placed in the pit to be available to use. we cant have a novice winning in the best f1 car ever, it would make our token look bad.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed a bill (pdf) on Friday that would have prohibited teachings in the K-12 school system that the bill calls contrary to “the equality and rights of all persons”

“This legislature should be focused on supporting teachers, helping students recover lost learning, and investing in our public schools,” Cooper, a Democrat, said in a press release. “Instead, this bill pushes calculated, conspiracy-laden politics into public education.”

Oh, lookie here! Somebody finally got a clue.

    Positive tests don’t mean squat.

In other words, the study suggests that roughly half of all the hospitalized patients showing up on COVID-data dashboards in 2021 may have been admitted for another reason entirely, or had only a mild presentation of disease.

This increase was even bigger for vaccinated hospital patients, of whom 57
percent had mild or asymptomatic disease.

  182. 190 | September 14, 2021 6:40 pm

    From the Derd Scott decision:

For if they were so received, and entitled to the privileges and immunities of citizens, it would exempt them from the operation of the special laws and from the police regulations which they considered to be necessary for their own satiety. It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognized as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased, to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished; and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs, and to keep and carry arms wherever they went. And all of this would be done in the face of the subject race of the same color, both free and slaves, and inevitably producing discontent and insubordination among them, and endangering the peace and safety of the State.

The Dred Scott decision is certainly one of the worst that’s ever come out of the Supreme Court. Could those lines be used as an argument against these so-called vaccine passports?

    Apparently he actually said this

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken denied accusations of a botched retreat from Afghanistan, blaming the Trump administration for any failures and saying Washington is focused on protecting LGBTQ and other vulnerable Afghans.

“Thank you for rightly putting the spotlight on concerns about the LGBTQI+ community in Afghanistan and the particular threat that they find themselves under,” Blinken told US Representative David Cicilline (D-Rhode Island) on Monday in a House hearing on the Afghan withdrawal.

    and

USAID, led by notable interventionist Samantha Power, will send the money through nongovernmental organizations to “provide life-saving support directly to Afghans facing the compounding effects of insecurity, conflict, recurring natural disasters and the Covid-19 pandemic,” according to the announcement.

‘These conversations remain vital to improving mutual understanding of U.S. national security interests, reducing tensions, providing clarity and avoiding unintended consequences or conflict.

Won’t happen. Rap is the corporate slave of the woke left. They are already owned. They don’t need to be gone after. The only ones that get slapped down are the white boys like Eminem or that sleazebag Machine Gun Kelly. If you look online there are all kinds of woke people watching every little thing they do hoping they do something they can cancel them permanently for just for the crime of being white. Though I hate Eminem (and rap in general) I do laugh at the the fact that he laughs at the cancel culture trash and says that people have been trying to cancel him for years, bring it.

They mean UAV, but that’s too hard to pronounce and it doesn’t sound all StarWarsy.

The Haitians are coming in via Bolivia and Argentina, up through Central America and Mexico to escape hurricanes due to climate change (according to one prodigy on twitter).

    Hiya Eagles. I’m back !

Using a jury rigged system on a borrowed laptop hot from inside the Level #4 zone.

Currently I am at the beach and have been since 60 minutes before the Iron Curtain came rolling down isolating Auckland. Figured if I was going to suffer I might as well do it at the beach! Most of NZ is in Level #2 which is normal but you have to wear a mask in shops. The Poor bastards in Auckland at Level #4 totally locked down for the past month+. At least the cops are reasonable and you can talk to them without getting a baton between the eyes like the denizens in Victoria and NSW do.Thewhole East coast of OZ is one huge distopean nightmare

Suddenly the Australian Constitution has been exposed as deeply flawed allowing States to dictate to the Federal Government. As States control both Education and Health they have the ability to unilaterally declare a ‘Health Emergency’ and give themselves unlimited, time limits free, dictatorial powers that nullify both the States’ Laws as well as FEDERAL LAW !

The NSW Premier has just extended the abolition of State Parliament by simply extending the lockdown into November when the long summer holidays happen. Parliament now will not meet until February if ever again. The NSW , Victorian and Queensland State Police Forces have been given open ended powers. This is dictatorship. Oz and North Korea are the only two Nation States where it is impossible to leave without a government authorisation. Welcome to the Penal Colony …. again !
