NCAA Football Week 6 2021 OPEN THREAD

by coldwarrior ( 220 Comments › )
Filed under College Football, Open thread at October 9th, 2021 - 12:20 am

Last week was an abysmal 2/7 -$500, so we are at 18/23 $1400/$1000. 40% ROI…it was 90%

ITS AN OPEN THREAD, DISCUSS WHAT YINZ WANT

I’m in the middle of 5 days in a row…so lets make this quick:

#6 Oklahoma at #21 Texas 12:00 PM ABC…Texas is getting 3.5. Huh? OU covers.

#13 Arkansas at #17 Ole Miss 12:00 PM ESPN…Both teams lost last week. They had to play the best programs in the country. The Razorbacks are getting 5 and Ole Miss covers.

#4 Penn State at #3 Iowa 4:00 PM FOX…This is gonna be a great game, easily the game of the week. Winner is top dog in the Big 10. Iowa ia a 1.5 point dog at home, PSU Covers.

I’m too tired to do any more research. Night Yinz!

WAITAMINUTE!

#9 Michigan at Nebraska 7:30 PM ABC…M is only a 2 point favorite??? Tyey had better beat this spread!

***That’s better, 3/4 today…21/27 $1600/$1000. 60% ROI…it was 90% with a low of 40%***

We had our first training class today. I won’t bore you with the details, but the funniest part was a 4 month old beagle, Millie. She did not like that leash, no siree, she was not having that leash, nope, nopers and just to make sure the trainer understood who was the boss, Millie collapsed on the floor in a heap and howled like she was being murdered. It was hysterical and as much as the trainer asked us to not laugh, you’d have to have a heart of stone. We weren’t allowed to take photos/videos otherwise it would have been all over social media by now. Beagles are total drama queens – and lousy liars.

An education company co-founded by Attorney General Merrick Garland’s son-in-law issued a “resource” for teachers this year that claims supporters of former President Donald Trump are White supremacists.

The educational workshop released by Panorama Education, co-founded by Alexander “Xan” Tanner, the group’s president, revolves around “systemic racism” and includes an article as a resource that states the Ku Klux Klan and attendees of Trump’s rallies are both “examples of white supremacy.”

We believe Panorama is strongest when our team reflects the tremendous diversity of the students, families, and educators we serve. We aim for Panorama to be a place where team members from a wide range of identities and experiences are valued, included, and able to thrive. In our partnership with clients, we work to increase equitable access to education, especially for students from communities that have been historically underserved by America’s schools.

NYC to Cancel Accelerated Learning Program for Gifted Kids

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has announced plans to cancel the “Gifted and Talented” accelerated learning program for schoolchildren, drawing praise from those who called the scheme discriminatory and condemnation from those who say it harms hardworking students.

Starting next fall, New York City will stop testing kindergartners for entry into the gifted and talented program, which was the subject of a lawsuit (pdf) that claimed the screens were “racially discriminatory” and fueled racial segregation in the school system.

“The era of judging 4-year-olds based on a single test is over,” de Blasio said in an Oct. 8 statement. “Every New York City child deserves to reach their full potential, and this new, equitable model gives them that chance.”

The gifted program, which faced criticism for enrolling low numbers of black and Latino students, will instead be replaced with a new framework called Brilliant NYC that will leave students identified for accelerated instruction in mixed classrooms but provide them with “extra attention,” de Blasio said during an appearance on WNYC on Oct. 8 with schools Chancellor Meisha Porter.

“The kids who have those special abilities for accelerated learning will be getting a lot of attention, a lot of opportunity to do it, but there’ll be learning with all the other kids,” de Blasio said, adding that Brilliant NYC scheme would ” reach tens of thousands of more kids with accelerated learning.”

Porter said that, under the new program, teachers would be provided with additional training to identify special abilities learners and provide them with “targeted individualized instruction.”

A parent calling into the WNYC praised the move, saying the gifted program created a “two-tiered world that I think needs to go.”

She’s from India. I thought she was just a very interesting immigrant. But look at this tweet. More interesting than I knew

Danny Pearl was born this day Oct. 10, 1963. He was 38 when he left my home in Karachi for the interview from which he didnt return. He would have turned 58. His dad @yudapearl shared with me this wisdom: we honor Danny by living courageously in the spirit with which he lived

It’s my backstory that gives me this clarity and courage
@apresmoi4 [that’s my twitter nic, btw] . What AG Merrick Garland doesn’t understand is that when I think about the FBI I think about the Newark agent who missed the father-daughter dance so that he could stay in Karachi to try to find Danny.

Those FBI agents, our regional security officer Randall Bennett + counsel general John Bauman gave me strength in the midst of the search for Danny when I learned I was pregnant + my boyfriend in Karachi bailed. They gave this mama bear courage to bring her baby into the world

the world is full of heroes we never know of. Be of strong heart.

I can tell you Danny never caved, he never begged, he knew it was hopeless and he accepted it. He had an attitude of “So what? You can kill me, but you can’t obliterate my life as I have lived it”.

IIRC, his wife was in-country with him, pregnant with their son. CNN took care of her – Jason somebody – there was a backstory to that that I barely recall, I don’t even remember her name, she dropped off the radar. CNN as we know it today would disavow her and Danny in a nanosecond.

Pentagon’s first software chief quit because China has already won global tech war

The Pentagon’s former software chief said he quit because China has already won the tech war guaranteeing global dominance — with some US government systems mere “kindergarten level” in comparison.

Nicolas Chaillan, 37, told the Financial Times on Sunday that there is “good reason to be angry” at the US failing to rise to China’s cyber threat, even fearing that it puts his children’s future at risk.

“We have no competing fighting chance against China in 15 to 20 years. Right now, it’s already a done deal; it is already over, in my opinion,” Nicolas Chaillan, 37, told the paper.

Chaillan — who was the Pentagon’s first chief software officer — said China will dominate the future of the world by controlling everything from media narratives to geopolitics.

He claimed that the US, like Beijing, should have prioritized artificial intelligence, machine learning and cyber capabilities over traditional military spending like building new fighter jets.

“Whether it takes a war or not is kind of anecdotal,” he told the paper of his prediction of China’s route to future world dominance.

He attacked Google for not working on AI with the US Defense Department, while Chinese companies are obliged to work with Beijing.

Loudoun County Schools Tried To Conceal Sexual Assault Against Daughter In Bathroom, Father Says

by one of those ‘trans’ things

    ———-

On June 22, Scott Smith was arrested at a Loudoun County, Virginia school board meeting, a meeting that was ultimately deemed an “unlawful assembly” after many attendees vocally opposed a policy on transgender students.

What people did not know is that, weeks prior, on May 28, Smith says, a boy, allegedly wearing a skirt, entered a girls’ bathroom at nearby Stone Bridge High School, where he sexually assaulted Smith’s ninth-grade daughter.

Juvenile records are sealed, but Scott’s attorney, Elizabeth Lancaster told The Daily Wire that a boy was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio, related to an incident that day at that school.

As a result of the viral video showing his arrest, Smith became the poster child for what the National School Boards Association has since suggested could be a form of “domestic terrorism”: a white blue-collar male who showed up to harangue obscure public servants on his local school board.

It was deemed an unlawful assembly because they expressed opinions that violated liberal orthodoxy? Haranguing obscure public servants is hardly terrorism. This is nothing less than suppression of first amendment rights. … and those do apply to local government officials.

A Southwest Pilot Explains What Happened over the Weekend

The tyrannical mandate, he explained, erased all of the good will pilots and other conservative employees had felt toward their company.
    .
    .
Gary Kelly, the CEO of Southwest, told employees last week that the airline had no choice but to comply with the regime’s vaccine mandate.

“Southwest Airlines is a federal contractor and we have no viable choice but to comply with the U.S. government mandate for employees to be vaccinated, and — like other airlines — we’re taking steps to comply,” Kelly said.

    https://amgreatness.com/2021/10/11/a-southwest-pilot-explains-what-happened-over-the-weekend/

Think about this. There are TONS of companies that hold nat’l security roles/contracts – cyber, military, etc. If they lose employees due to the vax mandate and can’t fulfill their contractual obligations, what then?

Just think basic stuff. Who makes the MRE meals the troops take with them into the field? I dunno, I’m just trying to get my head around all of it.

  94. 97 | October 12, 2021 3:07 am

    @ eaglesoars:

Thousands of Kaiser Permanente employees in Southern California voted to authorize a strike against the healthcare giant, as the workers continue to protest what they describe as severe staffing shortages that put both medical staff and patients at risk.

The strike authorization comes amid strained contract negotiations. Union representatives said nearly 21,000 nurses, pharmacists, midwives, physical therapists and others represented by United Nurses Assns. of California / Union of Health Care Professionals, or UNAC / UHCP, voted overwhelmingly – 96% – to approve a strike.

The union contract expired Sept. 30, and the two sides have yet to agree on a new one. A strike would affect Kaiser hospitals and facilities in more than a dozen Southern California cities.

Then further down was something scary.

In July, about 1,400 registered nurses at USC Norris Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles and Keck Hospital of USC staged a two-day strike, citing concerns such as long shifts, not enough staff and an over-reliance on contract nurses.

Glad I didn’t hear about it. Those are my peeps.

Why are people dying after getting the Covid vaccine? Pathologists now have answers.

Long story short, all the vaccines have some non-biologic crap in them, maybe graphene. There are LOTS of photos. Found in the vials and in the blood of vaxed.

    Then there’s this.

So my wife and I have been doing some research, and the organism discovered in the Moderna shot by Dr. Madej appears to be a parasite known as “Polypodium”.

This organism is found in Sturgeon eggs (Caviar) and attacks the reproductive system, literally eating the yolk of the egg. Could this be the cause of reproductive issues in women getting the shot and the now famous testicular inflammation? Are women having miscarriages because their eggs have been attacked and are no longer viable?

To my understanding a ‘mandate’ is the action and NOT the basis of legality. A Statute is the basis on which laws are drafted and enacted. Finally an Executive Order is a legal instruction, based on Executive power, that is only legally enforceable during the term of the Executive making the order.

To say that something is ‘mandated’ has to be based on the authority of a Statute, ‘in law’ or lastly based temporally on an Executive Order. To further muddy the pitch an Executive order can’t transgress the terms of a Statute, such as a constitutional protection.

The President of SW Airlines has worked himself between a rock and a hard place. The rock is the ‘mere suggestion’ that certain vocations will be required to be ‘vaccinated’ under the threat of dismissal. That is quite a step to take and I think it’s more bluff than anything, with the Feds hoping that their dirty work will be done by corporates. The Hard Place is the Governor of Texas making compulsory vaccination unlawful in the State of Texas by and order from the Governor.

Given that SW Airlines is OWNED by its workforce and it’s the workforce that are objecting to the Fed’s bluff, leaves the President of SW Airlines in a mass of his own making. The Federal Government bluff about mandated shots that will eventually end up in the SCOTUS, versus a State Governor using his power to make mandatory corporate decisions that affect basic human rights illegal by an order in council.

My guess is that the President of SW Airlines will back down, because a State order in council trumps a Federal bluff every time and the President can get sacked by his shareholders, who also happen to be his employees in this case.

In A Civil War The Authoritarian Left Would Be Easily Beaten – But It Won’t End There

But, the people behind the leftist movement, the globalist foundations that fund them, have a vested interest in eliminating conservative ideals and heritage. Globalist institutions working with the Biden Administration will surely seek to intervene. They will call us “white supremacists” even though many conservatives are black and brown. They will call us evil nationalists, even though there is nothing wrong with a national identity that values freedom. They will say we are “insurrectionists” even though we will be acting in self defense against an authoritarian regime. They will call us terrorists while using terrorist tactics and false flags against us. And, they will claim that we are far too dangerous to be allowed to maintain our own nation or our own states.

Their main rationale will probably fall to the US nuclear arsenal. They will claim that a nation of terrorists cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, and at the first sign that Biden (or Kamala) is losing control, there will be a call for UN intervention. Count on it. An international force would be organized to try to stop us from existing. This is where the REAL fight would begin.

I missed this. Two days ago

An anonymous worker from the West Coast Port of Los Angeles came forward on “The Stew Peters Show” to discuss the claimed issues around the cargo ship backlogs. {Direct Rumble Link} As the port worker noted, based on his 18-years working there, there is no supply disruption on the unloading end of the supply chain; though they are a little backed-up, but the port is offloading at a high capacity.

The interview is interesting because the ground report contradicts the popular narrative about COVID impacts on the current supply chain. There are ample goods flowing into the supply chain from the ports, yet there are claims of shortages at the warehouse and distribution level.

Dozens of truck drivers on tiktok are reporting different. They say they’ve been held up at the docks for days with no one available to load their trucks. Every one of them says they have plenty of trucks and drivers ready and waiting at the docks for their cargo but the cranes are standing still. Most of these reports are out of Tacoma and Portland.

I look at it and think they weren’t properly trained. They should have put him on the ground and they grabbed his jacket instead of him. Basically, he was never disabled. Do you recall any male cops that don’t have the perp on the ground? I don’t.

When I took my self-defense class the first thing I was taught was to disable the opponent. I won’t bother you with how I was taught to do that (ear boxing is actually quite effective, it hurts like hell if you do it properly)

One thing I did notice is that it’s a video from Montreal. I have no idea what they teach cops there.

But notice that they walk the guy over to the car from some other location uncuffed, and only attempt to restrain him when they arrive (presumably before putting him in the car). That makes no sense. They should have restrained him on the spot, wherever they were, when the decision was made to take him into custody. Otherwise, they’re just giving him time to plan his escape.

Breaking: U.S. Dept. Of Defense Data Shatters Official COVID Narrative!

The alarming findings show that the vast majority of covid hospitalizations are occurring among fully-vaccinated individuals and that outcomes among the fully vaccinated are growing worse with each passing week. This appears to fit the pattern of so-called Antibody Dependent Enhancement, where the treatment intervention (mRNA vaccines) is worsening health outcomes and leading to excess hospitalizations and deaths.

These data, presented here, shatter the official Biden / Fauci narrative that falsely claims America is experiencing, “a pandemic of the unvaccinated.” The data show that the pandemic actually appears to be accelerated by covid-19 vaccines, while unvaccinated individuals are having far better outcomes than the vaccinated.

California’s decision to end single-family suburban zoning is doubling property prices almost overnight, according to the New York Times.

The decision to end single-family zoning was made to help provide lower-cost housing for millions of Americans and migrants.

But the result is that many adult Americans now cannot afford to live in the roomy suburban houses that were built decades ago for their middle-class American parents and their expanding families. Democrats in Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, and other states are also pushing to de-zone suburbia.

You will own nothing and you will be happy.

That’s one of the things that was going on in VA before we escaped. A state delegate from Loudoun County (an immigrant from India I believe) wanted to change the zoning and force multiple-family building. In Loudoun a lot of the zoning mandates residential lots that are very large, at least half an acre, IIRC. This guy literally wanted to take away peoples’ property and force them to live next door to gov’t subsidized apartment buildings occupied by welfare people.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/biden-climate-change-crisis-protect-savings-retirements-pensions-banks-economy-2021-10

On Friday, Biden unveiled a 40-page report, entitled “A Roadmap to Build a Climate-Resilient Economy,” which focuses on mitigating the financial risks climate change places on people’s retirements, pensions, savings, and more. This follows up on an executive order the president signed in May, which was dedicated to analyzing and mitigating the risk the climate crisis poses to homeowners, businesses, consumers, and the government.
    .
    .
Specifically, the report outlines a “whole-of-government” approach to promoting the resilience of the US financial system to climate-related risks, protecting life savings and pensions, incorporating climate related financial risk into federal lending, like mortgages, and building more resilient infrastructure.

The report says government agencies such as the Labor Department, Treasury, and Dept. of Veterans Affairs will work to develop tools to mitigate the financial risks across sectors, and they will be releasing subsequent details in coming months.
    .
    .
Bank of America economist Ethan Harris wrote in a Friday note that actions addressing the climate will likely hurt economic growth “during the transition from a dirty to green economy” because workers will need to move from one sector to another.

Naturally, the dominant tone at TransVision was set by hardcore transhumanists: Max and Natasha More, José Cordeiro, David Wood, Jerome Glenn, Phillipe van Nedervelde, Ben Goertzel, Aubrey de Grey, Bill Faloon, and even in his absence, Ray Kurzweil, a top R&D director at Google and founder of Singularity University. Each proponent has a unique angle, but they converge on a shared mythos.

Allowing for variation, transhumanists confess there is no God but the future Computer God. They believe neuroprosthetics will allow communion with this artificial deity. They believe robot companions should be normalized. They believe longevity tech will confer approximate immortality. They believe virtual reality provides a life worth living. Above all, they believe the Singularity is near.

According to the Cult of the Singularity and its prophet, Ray Kurzweil, we’ll see artificial general intelligence by 2029. Unlike narrow algorithms performing specific tasks, AGI will be robust cognition enacted by neural networks, far faster than any human brain.

    YES!!!

U.S. Marine Corps Judge Glen Hines has docked Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller $5,000 in pay and ordered a letter of reprimand against the combat veteran for his criticisms about how senior military officials handled the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
    .
    .
According to Parlatore, Judge Hines criticized the government’s conduct, including for leaking case documents about Scheller. The judge said it’s not the court’s role to investigate the leak, but that there should be a probe into the matter.

“He commented on the severity of pretrial confinement for a case of this nature,” Parlatore added. “He saw a Marine in pain and in emotional anguish, which is pretty much what we argued.”

I don’t know what kind of discharge he’ll get tho

    @ eaglesoars:

Spending money on ads is a metric these groups use to convince their donors they are REALLY WORKING IT!! I know this because my husband’s clients did the same thing when making presentations to committees for (more) money

And if you do a little digging, you’ll probably find that the ad buy went to a firm connected to someone in the group’s leadership.

I’m not familiar w/what exactly SimpliSafe did, but I heard Bongino talk about it today

BREAKING: Dan Bongino drops MAJOR sponsor that caved to Antifa boycott campaign—’Cancelling works both ways’

“Cancelling works both ways,” he said. And to those companies that would bow down to left-wing extremist activists on Twitter, “If you don’t support free speech, get out. I’m not interested at all.”

    @ eaglesoars:

“I had this sponsor, SimpliSafe, and they’re a great company, I have no problem with the company at all,” Bongino said, before delving into this week’s news that he has intentionally parted ways with the security company.

To that end, he brought up Antifa member and activist Chad Loder, who was recently served with a restraining order. “He doesn’t like people going after Antifa,” he said.

“So Chad Loder tweeted to SimpliSafe on their official account, they’re a security company, trying to say, ‘Hey, why are you guys advertising on Andy Ngo’s site he’s associated with called The Post Millennial.”

“Well The Post Millennial is not run by Andy Ngo,” he said. “Andy Ngo is not a conservative. He’s an Asian, gay man who is not a conservative at all, but he exposes Antifa violence.”

“It’s weird,” Bongino said, “because SimpliSafe responded to Chad Loder, and said ‘hi Chad, thanks for bringing this to our attention… We notified our advertising partners and this site is being excluded from our ad by ASAP.”

I saw a picture of her when she was younger and she was quite pretty. The change is so dramatic – those dark circles – I’m surprised no one has looked into health issues. Those circles under her eyes are in no way normal

I doubt the WEF would want anyone other their their own loyalists to be doing that analysis and the ChiComs don’t fall into that category

    Sad news my rational friends…
My littlest of Australian States has also now gone the full fascist.
Having weathered the entire Covid rush with only 237 cases and 13 deaths, whilst implementing hard border controls to other states (no international airlines even fly here) this Tasmanian state has been forced into a full lockdown, because some Rando from NSW arrived uninvited, absconded from monitored hotel quarantine and then latter tested positive to the Rona.
He was on the loose for just 18 hours and some 100 or so people have been identified as being mostly very casual contacts – none have tested positive in the 5 now 6 days since exposure.
Tassie has a higher Covid Vaccination rate than the USA.
    .
    What are these lockdowns?
I cannot go outside of my house – unless I am wearing an approved mask,
I can only exercise for up to 2 hours a day, wearing an approved mask
I can only work in ‘government approved’ essential services, wearing an approved mask
I can only shop for food essentials, wearing an approved mask
I can seek urgent medical attention, wearing a mask
I am totally limited to a strict 3 mile radius to my home.
The government also announced I am responsible for my acquiring an approved mask.
    .
    Why does it bother me?
A ‘snap lockdown’ by definition means that people are not forewarned or prepared.
The only business that operates within my 3 mile limit is a Mobile coffee van – no shopping for ‘essential foods’ for me.
I do not have a mask and because of the 3 mile limit – I cannot buy go a mask
There are no medical providers with the 3 mile limit – I cannot seek urgent medical assistance.
The penalties for breaching these rules are fines up to US$12700 or 6 months jail time.

    Global tyranny.

GermanyFlag of Germany: A state is allowing supermarkets to ban customers based on their medical status.

CanadaFlag of Canada: Banning people from flying based on their medical status.

ItalyFlag of Italy: People without a covid passport are now not allowed to go to work.

Liberty Counsel on Friday announced a class action lawsuit on behalf of members of all five branches of the U.S. military – the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard – against President Joe Biden over his orders they take the experimental COVID shots or face dishonorable discharge.

“The Biden administration has no authority to require the COVID shots for the military or for federal employees or civilian contractors,” explained Mat Staver, Liberty Counsel chairman.

“Nor can the Biden administration pretend that the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the First Amendment do not apply to its unlawful mandates. The commander-in-chief must end this shameful treatment and abuse of our brave military heroes. Forcing the COVID shots without consent or consideration for their sincere religious beliefs is illegal.”

I’d sugest that you sit on your deck with a shotgun loaded with bird shot, so it doesn’t mess the ‘thingie’ up too badly. Shoot it and then take your time inspecting it at your leisure.
