NCAA Football Week 8 2021, OPEN

Filed under College Football, Open thread at October 22nd, 2021 - 11:28 pm

2 weeks ago 3/4 now…21/27 $1600/$1000. 60% ROI…it was 90% with a low of 40%. No games were worth looking at last week and tornadoes….this week, not so many either, so let’s get to it:

Clemson at #23 Pittsburgh 3:30 PM ESPN: My beloved Panthers are 4 point dogs at home against an UN-RANKED Clemson Tigers. Pickett (QB, PITT) can very well be playing on Sunday when he is done in college. The kid is good. PITT covers at home.

USC at #13 Notre Dame 7:30 PM NBC: The Trojans stink. ND needs a big win here and are 7 point favorites. ND covers.

Slim pickings again this week.

I refuse to watch baseball ever again.

Last time I did I was up until 2am cheering quietly and was dragging ass all next day.

First time I ever watched baseball.

Our Aussie friend will understand this.

I think popularity of certain sports within a country depends on who that country was brutally ruled by. ( sort of joking )

Take baseball first. I understand it is quite popular in Cuba, Japan, The Philippines and other countries where the USA had, or have military bases.

Cricket. India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Siri Lanka, Australia and others.

Rugby is kind of an exception to this general trend. France. Don’t know why they participate in getting their asses kicked by England still.

Anyway I think it is good that former colonies are still united in one thing. Sport.

Further to my thinking. American football is not so popular world wide because you really need equipment to play it. a sissy helmet, sissy padding and sissy black stripes under the eyes.

Baseball just needs a bat and a ball. Cricket the same, the wicket can be an old oil drum. Rugby just a ball of any shape. Same as soccer.

The goals are just a pile of clothing.

    AND THERE IS MORE!

Sports such as soccer or rugby will never take off in the USA as the game is continuous. No time outs for ” messages from our sponsor ”

There, I am done now LOL

Last night the NZ Prime Minister (AKA Commissar Cindi) mover NZ into a new stage of repression. No more Ms. Team of 5 million …. let’s all be kind to each other. Nope it was away with the carrot and now ALL STICK for those untermenschen anti-vaxers who were now a hunted species who’d lost ALL of their human rights!

I kid you not folks, the communist bitch is loose and hunting her enemies openly. Everyone has to carry their ‘papers’ on their phones and produce them when stopped in the street or before they enter any business. No ‘papers’ no entry, no job, no travelling on local transport, no access to food stores, doctors offices, hospitals or pharmacies, let alone coffee shops movies etc!
So I now officially don’t exist as of the end of November.

The fascist communist bitch has finally unmasked. Oh by the way Auckland should be 90 double ‘vaxed’ by the end of november but they will all still be restricted in what they can do or where they can go. Apparently Comrade Cindi wants to keep the ‘controls’ on …. well for the foreseeable future apparently. The bitch likes the POWER a little TOO MUCH it seems.

  11. Aussie Infidel

It seems that Comrade Cindi has changed the goalposts location yet again.

No more Level 1 – Level 4 indicators of infection.

Now the communist bitch has the RED AMBER and GREEN Light system.

Everyone is automatically held under a RED light until further notice. Hell the South Island of NZ hasn’t had a single Covid infection for over 300 days!
This is a massive POWER GRAB that has nothing to do with Covid and EVERYTHING to do with The Great Reset and One World Government.

NZ has a SINGLE House (no senate since the 1950s. No Constitution and no Human Rights Charter. The health bureaucrats have been given unelected power over the NZ public and the tiny Labour core ‘inner-Cabinet’ of just half a dozen comrades run everything as the vast majority of Labour Members of Parliament are ‘out to lunch’ idiot former school teachers and union delegates, who have never had a real job in their lives.

The bureaucrats are taking their orders from this core ‘mini cabinet’.

A perpetual motion machine was actually developed back in the ’90s, but the oil industry kept it from the market.

All it requires is a cat and a piece of buttered toast.

As everyone knows, buttered toast always lands butter-side down if you drop it. Similarly, cats always land on their feet. Thus, if you strap a piece of buttered toast to a cat’s back and drop it, it will spin in mid-air, as the two opposing forces try to land on the carpet.

No revolution I’m afraid. By the end of November when all of this NWO shit begins there will be 90% compliance in Auckland and lesser levels in the hinterland. With 90% obeying the Diktats of the Comrades and with willing ‘Karens’ reporting on ‘backsliders, and with GCSB reading the electronic media of targeted ‘hold outs’ there will be no revolution.

There will grow a pushback when the ‘scared shitless’ population realizes that the promised return to normality, when all Health Boards reach 90+% vaccination levels, has changed to …’The New Normal’…… meaning that normal is whatever the comrades say is normal. That dissociated push back will be broken up easily and before it reaches critical levels.

But that’s a lot of trouble to remedy a problem that only exists due to the false premise that humans affect global climate.

A brilliant classmate of mine (actually he was so smart that he quit his MBA half way through when he realized that they had nothing to teach him that he didn’t already know) made millions in the UK with an IT company he started there. Returned to NZ where he started another company to produce tidal power. In all the 4000 miles of coastline surrounding NZ and its islands there was only TWO places where a commercial tidal power could make economical power. Site #1 at the Kaipara Harbour just North of Auckland and Cook Strait near Wellington. The Kaipara site was to have 300 huge concrete shrouds sitting just below the surface on the shallow bottom where strong tides were flowing with slow turbines. The Cook Strait site was 600 foot deep and had huge turbines sitting on the bottom picking up the roaring tidal flow.

Naturally three local Maori tribes (Iwi) decided that they wanted to cash in. Then the Greenies decided that they too wanted a cut and the two local councils also decided how they could reap $$$$$. In the end my mate just walked away after running a successful 10 turbine proof of concept. Hell the local Maori even complained about the magnetic field caused by power cables laid on the bottom of the harbour. They demanded that they be buried 1 meter deep in the silt because someone decided with no research at all to back up their claim, that weak magnetic fields with a range of a meter would upset their traditional fishing rights. That could be instantly fixed however by just applying larger bundles of $$$$$ !

    SPIT

In the end he walked away and began designing racing yachtsusing metamaterials.

Anyway. Last night I got distracted. The reason for my first post on this thread “I do not consent to this new thread” was a reference to the Sovereign Citizen movement. They don’t consent to be arrested. LOL

If anyone has seen the videos of them in action you know what I mean. Simple traffic stops usually end up with broken windows and a nice ride to jail.

Once you start watching these videos it becomes highly addictive. One thing to note is how patient and professional the police are.

A common theme during traffic stops is that the person does not need a license, registration or insurance if they are traveling in their own private property. They are not driving, they are traveling which is a right granted by the 5th amendment.

Some of the smart mouthed cops tell them “yes you are free to travel sir. Get out and walk. If you want to drive then show me your license. ( and after 15 minutes of this broken window, handcuffs and off to jail we go )

Many videos are available on Youtube with commentary by people mocking the Sovereign Citizens. Surprisingly most of the video content is NOT police body cameras but the videos the Sovereign Citizens themselves uploaded. LOL

As I said, it is addictive watching these videos. I can’t post lots of links because I get banned for spamming this place but a great start is videos from this guy. To me his accent gets annoying, he is from 100 miles south of me. But he is a nice guy and explains it all very well.

Here is one of his videos, I picked a short one. And I do warn you watching these idiots IS addictive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL5BJkJQOA8

Oh by the way. Do you like to eat bread… to die for?

If so this is for you. REALLY EASY and quick
    15 min to prep
45 min to bake plus another 10 to brown it

It would help if you own a cast iron dutch oven with a lid but you can make do with a couple of bread loaf tins and some foil on top …

    Ingredients:
    1/2 cup Kibbled wheat
1/4 cup Kibbled rye (or just use more kibbled wheat)
4 cups High Grade white flour
    1 cup whole meal flour
    1/4 cup of rolled oats
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
    1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
    2 Tablespoons Quinoa
    3 Tablespoons Flax seeds
    3 Tablespoons Chia seeds
    3 Tablespoons sesame seeds
2 Tablespoons of Gluten (but you can leave this if you don’t like gluten)
    2 Tablespoons Skim Milk powder
1/3 TEASPOON (yep that’s what I said Teaspoon ) of instant yeast
    2 & 3/4 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Wine vinegar ( I use the vinegar I accidentally made when I was trying to make wine)
    3 & 1/4 cups of cold water

Mix all of the dry stuff and then add the water and vinegar and form it into a lump that seems ‘stringy’ and holds your pointy finger mark in its side.

Just cover it with a tea towel and keep it warm for 12 hours or up to 18 hours in the winter.

It’s ready when it’s slightly bubbly on top (not a big deal if it’s not but it should have swelled a bit.)
Turn it over on itself so that the crease is on the bottom of the container.

If you’re using bread tins divide in two. Form into two balls. You don’t need to kneed it or any think silly like that. The dough should feel wet and sticky.
Just leave it for 2 more hours to double in size, in a warm place.

If you are using a cast iron Dutch oven that preheat it to oven temp, if you’re using aluminium bread tins then they will heat us quickly on their own. If you’re still paranoid about the bread sticking you can put a piece of oven paper under the dough!

Sprinkle or spray the top of the dough with a little water

Bake at 220C (495F) for 40 minutes with the lid or foil over the top.

Remove the lid and brown the loaf for another 10 minutes or until it’s golden brown and your whole house is filled with the smell of baking bread.

If you’re using a Dutch over then cook it whole. It shouldn’t stick but you can dust the bottom with some flour first.

Tip the bread out of the tins or Dutch oven and let it cool on a rack.

    Enjoy!

    🙂

It must be infuriating and baffling to a large sector of the population to have been convinced that what happened on January 6 was an unprecedently dangerous insurrection perpetrated by an organized group of seditious traitors who had plotted to kidnap and murder elected officials, only for the Biden DOJ to have charged exactly nobody with any criminal charges remotely suggesting any of those melodramatic claims.”

Kibbled means roasted and with the husks knocked off. Most health food shops will sell you almost all of the ingredients. I get most of my ingredients from either the supermarket or from a specialist bulk shop that stocks everything.

This bread will give you two 1 pound loaves for about US$1.40 total

They also think that the world absolutely needs their wisdom and oversight and that everything is screwed up when people don’t do as they demand. Of course that makes them look like frustrated elementary school principals.

Cash-to-Bitcoin exchange available at 200 Walmart Coinstar machines

Walmart is rolling out a program for customers to exchange cash for Bitcoin at select Coinstar machines in its stores.

The pilot program, which started earlier this month, makes cash-to-Bitcoin transactions available at 200 select Coinstar machines. Coinme, a cryptocurrency payment firm that has been operating Bitcoin ATMs since 2014, operates the transactions via the machines.

“Coinstar, in partnership with CoinMe, has launched a pilot that allows its customers to use cash to purchase Bitcoin ,” a Walmart spokeswoman told the Washington Examiner. “There are 200 Coinstar kiosks located inside Walmart stores across the United States that are part of this pilot.”

Coinstar machines are best known for converting coins into paper money or gift cards. Though a press release last month said that Walmart would be accepting cryptocurrency Litecoin as payment proved to be a hoax , an editor at cryptocurrency news website Coindesk verified that the service works.

The service works by inserting cash into the machine and receiving a paper voucher that can be redeemed by setting up a Coinme account. It charges a 4% fee for the Bitcoin option and a 7% cash exchange fee.

    @ eaglesoars:
    @ coldwarrior:

Dan Andrews has laid out the life of the unvaccinated “Victorians until 2023”.

This is what life looks like for the unclean, subhuman, second rate tax paying citizens who choose to wait until 2023 when human mRNA trials end.

“Well you can go and buy food, you can go and visit people if they’re happy to have you in their home. You can go and do some shopping for the basics, the things that you need, lots of different things you can do.

“It’s actually an easier question answered in terms of what you can’t do. You can’t get into any venue, and it’ll be the vast majority of venues whether it’s a bookshop, a shoe shop, the pub, a cafe, a restaurant, the MCG, the list goes on and on. You will not be able to participate like a fully vaccinated person.”

“In fact, we will add to the vaccinated economy by asking and mandating that all non-essential retail will have to be vaccinated as well, both to go in, and also to work on those settings.”

    From coronavirus.vic.gov.au:

    Workers required to be vaccinated

Select workers (including contractors, volunteers and students on placement) will be required to show evidence of their vaccination to their employer by a certain date in order to continue working outside their home.

The following workers who are leaving home for work:

    Accommodation workers
    Agriculture and forestry workers
    Airport workers
    Ancillary, support and welfare workers
    Authorised officers
    Care workers
    Community workers
    Creative arts workers
    Custodial workers
    Emergency service workers
    Entertainment and function workers
    Funeral workers
    Higher education workers
    Justice service centre workers
    Marriage celebrants
    Manufacturing workers
    Meat and seafood processing workers
    Media and film production workers
    Mining workers
    Physical recreation workers
    Ports and freight workers
Professional sports, high-performance sports or racing person
    Professional services workers
    Public sector employees
    Real estate workers
    Religious workers
    Repair and maintenance workers
Retail workers (including workers at food & drink facilities; licenced premises)
    Science and technology workers
    Social and community service workers
    Transport workers
    Utilities and urban workers
    Veterinary and pet/animal care workers
Workers in residential aged care facilities
    Workers at construction sites
    Workers in healthcare settings
Workers at school, childcare and early education services (plus outside school hours care services)
That’s a lot of workers required to be vaccinated. It’s basically everybody. What is the penalty for working without vaccination?

I am an employer. What happens if I allow an unvaccinated worker on site to continue working?

You face a penalty of up to 120 penalty units ($21,808) if you are an individual – or a penalty of up to 600 penalty units ($109,044) if you are a corporation.

So Daniel Andrews has not explicitly decreed that a parallel unvaccinated economy and society is illegal.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern boasted of creating a two-tiered society in her country based on vaccination status.

During a recent interview with The New Zealand Herald, a reporter asked Ardern if she’s trying to a create a society of “two different classes” of people, where “you have all these rights if you’re vaccinated.”

“That is what it is, yep,” Ardern replied with a nod and a smile.
Ardern went on to defend the use of vaccine passports, calling them a “tool for confidence.”

“It’s actually become quite clear to me that they’re not just a tool to drive up vaccines, they’re a tool for confidence,” she said.

“People who have been vaccinated will want to know that they’re around other vaccinated people. They’ll want to know that they’re in a safe environment. It is a way that we can give them the confidence to those who are going back into hospitality or events.”

“And so, that is something that I think we should offer to people who have been vaccinated,” she said. “That confidence that we’re doing everything we can to keep them safe, and that they can come back out and start enjoying those things safely.”

Well, I don’t know what to think about this

An amazing story from one of the all time great actors of a generation, and one that you have to read to understand and believe.

At the time of John Wayne’s historic movie career, global Communism was still a very much growing threat, one that Stalin wanted to spread around the world – under Soviet leadership.

Stalin saw how much power the stars had, as well as their influence in films. The stars that were in the films were also intriguing to him, because they held large audiences.

He saw it in Nazi German propaganda during the Second World War, and he used it effectively himself to further is own personality cult.

Stalin saw John Wayne’s power as an virulent anti-Communist on the rise, he ordered the actor killed and then sent (allegedly) more than one hit squad to do the job. He saw the Duke as a threat to the spread of communism around the world, and especially in America.

According to the book John Wayne – The Man Behind the Myth, Soviet filmmaker Sergei Gerasimov told Wayne of the KGB plot in 1949. What the Duke and his Hollywood friends did to the hit squad is mind blowing.

If you know anything about John Wayne, he wasn’t just an “actor.” He was a bonafide, real life bad ass. He wasn’t to be messed with.

Not one to let a thing like Communist assassins get him down, Wayne and his scriptwriter Jimmy Grant allegedly abducted the hitmen, took them to the beach, and staged a mock execution.

No one knows exactly what happened after that, but Wayne’s friends say the Soviet agents began to work for the FBI from that day on.

Now we’re wondering, were there other incidents? The book also alleges that KGB agents tried to take the actor out on the set of the 1953’s Hondo in Mexico. A captured sniper in Vietnam claimed that he was hired by Chairman Mao to take the actor out on a visit to troops there.

Stalin died in 1953. His successor, Nikita Khrushchev, met privately with John Wayne in 1958 and informed him that the order had been rescinded. Wayne told his friends that Khruschev called Stalin’s last years his “mad years” and apologized.

The entire thing is something straight out of a movie, and it makes you wonder why one hasn’t been made about this? It would be phenomenal to see someone portray the Duke for a feature film.

The entire time Wayne knew there was a price on his head, but he refused the FBI’s offer of federal protection and didn’t even tell his family. He just moved into a house with a big wall around it.

Once word got out, though, Hollywood stuntmen loyal to Duke began to infiltrate Communist Party class around the country and exposed the plots against him.

According to what we know, Wayne never spoke of the incidents publicly.

Thanks to our friends at Military.com for contributing to this article.

So now in Pennsylvania they actually want to destroy the production of methane produced by waste.

    Because they prefer everyone miserable

    ——-

While municipal sewage flows into the head of the plant, these trucked-in items go directly into an anaerobic food digester near the end of the plant’s process.

    .
    .
William Toffey, executive director of the Mid-Atlantic Biosolids Association, said the digester’s contents are mixed with the plant’s sewage in a tank with tiny organisms that break things down while making natural gas. The process can produce enough gas to power the water treatment plant. Some facilities have invested in getting into this technology so they can sell the excess gas or use it as power.

But DEP now wants all waste to be mixed in at the head of the plant instead of at the digester.
    ——-

Dairy farmers do this. Load the manure into an anaerobic digester, hook the resulting methane production up to the grid, etc.

It’s a closed loop, no waste. But of course, come in a fuck it up because ‘renwables’

Environmentally hazardous coal waste diminished by citric acid

In one of nature’s unexpected bounties, a harmless food-grade solvent has been used to extract highly sought rare-earth metals from coal ash, reducing the amount of ash without damaging the environment and at the same time increasing an important national resource.

Coal ash is the unwanted but widely present residue of coal-fired power. Rare-earth metals are used for a variety of high-tech equipment from smartphones to submarines.

The separation method, which uses carbon dioxide, water and food-grade citric acid, is the subject of a Sandia National Laboratories patent application.

“This technique not only recovers rare-earth metals in an environmentally harmless manner but would actually improve environments by reducing the toxicity of coal waste dotting America,” said Guangping Xu, lead Sandia researcher on the project.

Dan Andrews power grab: Victorians to be fined up to $90,000 and jailed for TWO YEARS, just for not wearing a mask or protesting lockdown under law that allows him to single handedly invoke pandemic restrictions at will

New powers will allow Premier Dan Andrews to impose a state of emergency any time he likes, without reference to State Parliament or even his Cabinet – and Victorians face $90,000 fines or two years in jail if they protest.

Under the legislation, opposition MPs fear the premier could use public health orders to target individuals on age, gender, sexual orientation, political belief, or activity.

Health minister Martin Foley insisted the new legislation was designed to be transparent, but it was savaged by the opposition as ‘an attack on democracy’.

Under the new bill, the premier will be able to declare a pandemic even if there are no cases, and can extend the state of emergency for three months at a time, on a roll-over basis.

The sweeping new pandemic laws which were tabled in parliament on Tuesday free the premier from having to get doctors to sign off on public health orders.

And the premier would be able to declare a state of emergency and bring in new restrictions on public life whether or not his chief health officer agrees.

The premier would also make the final call on implementing lockdowns, mask mandates and quarantine requirements.

Victorians could be fined up to $90,000 or jailed for two years if they breach health orders and knew – ‘or should have known’ – they were putting others at serious health risk, while companies face fines of up to $455,000.

Legal experts have warned the new bill does not have a sliding scale of crimes and treats all breaches with the same seriousness, raising concerns some could face a jail term for minor breaches like not wearing a mask.

Mr Andrews dismissed the criticism as ‘political games’.

‘We need specific [pandemic] laws… that will protect us and keep us safe. That was our commitment, and that’s what we have delivered.’

The Latest from the Valneva Covid-19 vaccine front.

A traditional vaccine that does NOT use m-RNA technology but is a whole dead virus with the full range of Antigens . Typical of the normal seasonal flu vaccines that many of us get prior to the winter.

If you are holding out because you question the science behind m-RNA technology , then you might want to keep Valneva in mind.

There have been human trials that went well in NZ and Europe with a follow up set of trials that add Delta vaccine to the mix. For those with philosophical, religious or scientific questions then this may be for you.

Milgram’s experiments in obedience alas are very true in real life. I saw the results of exposing average 19-21 year old naval ratings (good kids) to an environment where they thought that they had total power over a group of 30 ‘prisoners’. The Prisoners were SAS selection candidates undergoing Resistance to Interrogation ‘Exposure’ Training. The Young Naval Ratings were chosen because we figured that they probably wouldn’t know the candidates and feel sorry for them. Within 24 hours the ‘guards began to change into brutal SS Type thugs, and we had to ‘watch them like hawks’ to prevent them from ‘damaging’ the ‘prisoners.

The whole thing horrified me as the DS, and I knew I was still OK when I suffered nightmares regularly. The professional psychologists attending were operating on the edge of their professional competence and I’m sure that over the years we damaged some candidates psychologically and a few physically as well.

I totally believe that. When I was exposed to the Milgram experiments during management training classes, it was, as I said, with the intent to make sure those kinds of things were avoided and working to make people less susceptible to such obedience to “authority”. Sadly, it appears that there are those who viewed the results with delight and have been working to exploit those results. They are the same ones using “1984”, “Brave New World”, “Animal Farm”, and “Atlas Shrugged” as “how-to” manuals.

According to Jack Posobiec (via Bannon) the skinny on the White House is:

    – Dr. Jill is asking around about a way to impeach the VP

    – If you want anything done, don’t bother w/the Ron Klain cabal, go to Harris’ people

    – Some are thinking about just getting Biden thru the mid-terms when he can ‘graciously’ exit the stage. They don’t want him to have just a year to his legacy – such as it is.

So, what exactly are they going to point to, even assuming he makes to the mid-terms in a semi-coherent fashion, as “his legacy”? Seriously, what “successes” are they going to be able to apply to his administration? I guess the only even remote possibility is his getting us back into the economy killing climate deal. Other than that, I don’t see anything they can point to as successes that the American people would think of as successes. They are being wildly successful in their effort to destroy America and the economy, but they can’t say that out loud.

Oh, just thought of something else. Getting rid of Slow Joe because of his mental state will be easy; getting rid of “Dr.” Jill (Ed.D NOT PhD) is going to be way tougher. I don’t think she is going to leave the White House peacefully. She likes the trappings of power.

A cheap antidepressant may cut the risk of an unvaccinated Covid patient needing hospital care by a third, a large Brazilian study suggests.

Fluvoxamine — available on prescription in the UK under the name Faverin — is thought to calm down the immune system due to its anti-inflammatory abilities.

It belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which are prescribed to about 70million Britons each year.

The drug, which costs roughly 29p per tablet, was trialled on nearly 741 people who tested positive within seven days and had underlying health conditions.

Patients were given a daily course of two pills for 10 days. Of those given the medication, 79 (10.6 per cent) needed hospital care compared to 15.7 per cent in the placebo group.

    I can see the possibilities

EXCLUSIVE: How Long Will Vaccine Authoritarians Sit in the Cold and the Dark?

A network of contractors employ linemen, who generally flock to the scene in advance when the weather patterns predict severe storms in a particular area. There are also archaic rules about which contractors can serve different regions based on union regulations. For example, non-union contractors from the South are generally not allowed to work in New York and California. Usually, IBEW linemen from Midwestern contractors would have been flooding to the Northeast before yesterday’s storm that left around 600,000 residents in several states without power. This time they didn’t.
    .
    .
According to informal polling out of the halls, the men in these muscular jobs in flyover country who worked consistently during lockdowns have very low vaccination rates. While storm crews are an excellent way to make double-time for every hour worked, this lineworker reports it is not worth the hassle in places with vaccine mandates. When they flocked to New Orleans after Hurricane Ida earlier this summer, vaccine passports made it impossible for these workers to get a meal in a restaurant or a cup of coffee in a local convenience store.

    What the…???

In an effort to ease congestion at the nation’s busiest port complex, officials said Monday that they will start fining shipping companies whose cargo containers linger for too long at marine terminals.

The twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach said in a statement that arriving containers scheduled to be moved by truck will be allowed to stay for nine days before fines start accruing. Containers set to move by rail can stay at the port for three days.

After that, ocean carriers will be charged $100 per container, increasing in $100 increments per container per day, the statement said. The new rules will go into effect on November 1.

    .
    .
Officials at the Port of Oakland are calling on shipping lines to route more cargo to the “congestion-free” Bay area port as supply chains problems continue to plague ports in Southern California and elsewhere in the country.

An example of this is from a statement from Port of Oakland maritime Director Bran Brandes who said last week, “There’s no congestion at the Oakland seaport, and we’re ready for more business. We need carriers to reinstate services in order to stabilize the supply chain, and our import and export partners echo this sentiment.”

Despite reporting a 4.2 percent increase in containerized cargo volumes so far in 2021, Port of Oakland says it now has spare capacity for ships as there have been no vessel backlogs since August.

I can’t believe they just figured this out now. There’s got to be another factor in this

Our CEO didn’t make it to the facility. He sent the COO in his place. He made a nice speech about how important we all were to the success of the company, then had lunch with the senior staff (all of whom have jobs come Monday). Then he left.

Team McAuliffe emails reveal effort to ‘kill this’ Fox News story

Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe’s campaign raised eyebrows by spending nearly $60,000 to hire a high-profile attorney known for masterminding election-related legal challenges. When Fox News sent the campaign a request for comment, the McAuliffe campaign scrambled to “kill” the story, according to emails mistakenly sent to Fox News.

Less than a month before Election Day, McAuliffe’s campaign spent $53,680 on the services of the Elias Law Group, a firm that Marc Elias started earlier this year, Fox News previously reported. Elias had formerly worked as a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie, which the Hillary Clinton campaign hired in 2016 in order to conduct opposition research on Donald Trump – research that included the infamous Christopher Steele dossier. Republicans have accused Elias of lying to hide the Clinton campaign’s role in funding the dossier.

Elias has represented Democrats in efforts to contest elections. Going into the 2020 election, he represented Democrats challenging a Texas law barring “straight-ticket voting.”

House Republicans accused Elias of having a “serious conflict of interest” when he represented Iowa Democratic candidate Rita Hart in her effort to overturn the results of her extremely narrow loss to Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. GOP members House Administration Committee said that Elias had a conflict because he and Perkins Coie – where he still worked at the time – also represented half of the Democratic committee members who would be deciding the case.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley wrote that McAuliffe hiring Elias is an “astonishing move.”

“There are a host of election lawyers but McAuliffe selected an attorney accused of lying to the media, advancing rejected conspiracy theories, and currently involved in a major federal investigation that has already led to the indictment of his former partner,” Turley wrote.

“McAuliffe may be preparing to challenge any win by Republican Glenn Youngkin,” he wrote on Twitter.

Fox News reached out to the McAuliffe campaign for comment on Turley’s suggestion. McAuliffe spokesperson Christina Freundlich responded to the email with a message apparently meant for colleagues, not for Fox News.

“Can we try to kill this,” Freundlich wrote.

If it’s due to the pandemic, that should be explainable and the prospective hire would be well advised to inform the employer of that fact. Credit rating history can be obtained and verify the fact that the prospective employee had a good rating before the pandemic.

Well, this is a gut-buster, mostly because it’s SO lame. And apparently the pedophiliac Lincoln Project is behind it

Virginia Democrats must know just how bad things are looking for Terry McAuliffe in the gubernatorial election that will be decided on Tuesday. In addition to the McAuliffe campaign hiring a lawyer known for challenging election results (and trying to kill that story) Virginia Democrats have resorted to a false flag stunt right out of the Jussie Smollett playbook.

A group of five alleged white supremacists stood before a Youngkin campaign bus with tiki torches claiming, “We’re all in for Glenn.”

Of course the first clue that something wasn’t right here is the fact that one of the alleged white supremacists is a black man. That, of course, didn’t stop McAuliffe aide Jen Goodman from pretending the stunt was legitimate.

However, it appears that one of the “white supremacists” involved in the stunt might be Camden Layton, the financial director for the Young VA Democrats.

Layton has set all of his social media accounts to private since being exposed.

John Cardillo thinks he’s identified another one of the white supremacists as a McAuliffe staffer.

Hey @TerryMcAuliffe , your staffers are morons.

Layton has set all of his social media accounts to private since being exposed.

U.S. Supreme Court rejects religious challenge to Maine vaccine mandate

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday turned away healthcare workers seeking a religious exemption to Maine’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate in the latest battle over vaccination to reach the justices.

The court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, rejected a request made by nine unnamed plaintiffs who identified themselves as healthcare workers who object to receiving the shots on religious grounds. The court previously rejected challenges to vaccine mandates in New York and Indiana, though those cases did not involve religious objections.

The justices were divided, with three conservative members saying they would have granted the request.

The Court was asked to rule on something without any argument from the parties involved, other than a briefing. In order for it to do that, the request must meet very high standards – this one did not. The Court never heard the facts surrounding the case before ruling.

Doesn’t mean they won’t take up the case and hear the arguments later – they just can’t grant enjoin a party from acting based on an initial request unless it meets certain standards.

In this day and age, it’s a stupid rule. All vacancies are posted on the state personnel office’s website for a minimum of 2 weeks. If nobody else applies who meets the basic qualifications, so be it. It’s still not guaranteed that the one person who did apply is going to get the job. He or she could totally blow the interview.
