I just realized something. In Virginia EVERYBODY had a security system. I don’t think I ever walked past a house w/o seeing a security sign from some firm. And I walked the dogs all over.

Have not seen one since we got to Knoxville. Some people have ring doorbells and cameras, but no vender security.

    Shaming Squirrels for Their Privilege

    This is an actual study.

A biologist at some super-left-leaning college in California, the land of needles and feces (a long way from milk and honey, I know) and two medical researchers from UCLA published a study examining, I redacted-you-not, “The nature of privilege: intergenerational wealth in animal societies.” They probably got a government grant for this.

You’ll quickly see from the study that the authors really, really hate squirrels

    so what?

Back in 1996, a physicist Alan Sokal had become jaded with the relaxed standards in the scientific journal review process. In order to make a point, and hopefully wake the industry up, he decided to completely fabricate a study.

He selected a progressive humanities journal, Social Text, as his first target. Alan wrote a paper filled with complete nonsense entitled “Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity”.

The subject of the work was to argue that quantum gravity had a liberal bias.

They are talking about a I-200 arrest warrant.

    No A number on it….

I has an A number. I is in the system. They have my picture and a full set of fingerprints.

I trust the system. If I arrived at an airport wearing only my socks and a leopard skin print thong with my A number written in Sharpie on my belly then the TSA can check who I really am.

Buc-ee’s Is the closest to a British/European ” rest area ” I have seen in the USA.

Get gas, do shopping and eat.

Trouble is in the USA people stop at the gas pump, fill up then leave their car at the pump at a Buc-ee’s while they shop and eat.

That is why at a Buc-ee’s there are about twelve and a half million gas pumps.

In the UK there is a large parking lot at the entrance, you park, go eat, go shopping and at the exit there is a gas station.

    pro tip

NEVER cite your enemies as focusing on you due to their sexual frustrations. First, you have just portrayed yourself as a public sexual object. Unless that’s your business, it’s a no win situation.

It boils down to: I’m so desirable they are out of my league and they know it. They just want to fuck me and they know they never will.

It has nothing to do with the factual context of the political argument and she needs to stick to that.

I’m tired of women complaining that they get treated unfairly because they are women. If you think men aren’t treated unfairly because they’re men, just check out the utterly bogus accusations of sexual misconduct against them.

What we need to do is bring back duels. And chicks with guns.

ok, as far as it goes…

This week I filed HB3129, which codifies that a father’s financial responsibility to his baby & their mom begins at conception.

If Oklahoma is going to restrict a woman’s right to choose, we sure better make sure the man involved can’t just walk away from his responsibility.

    https://twitter.com/ForrestBennett/status/1484643409130397702

BUT…I maintain a father also has rights (unless the baby is a result of rape/incest). There is no reason a woman has the right to kill somebody else’s baby

Mask Plan for VA’s Largest School District Involves Suspension Threats, Claims to Be ‘Within a Caring Culture’

The Fairfax County Public School system, which is the largest in Virginia and one of the largest in the country, is seeking to do damage control when it comes to masking policies within the district. On Friday, Parents Defending Education circulated a “Principal Briefing” that orders administrators in the district to suspend students for refusing to wear a mask. That same night, the district texted families a link to a “Message from the Superintendent – Maintaining Mask Requirements Within a Caring Culture.”

funny thing at work yesterday, so i am only allowed to do triage in the ER until my shoulder is fixed and better…so, i have fun dealing with all the patients and keeping everyone calm as they wait 8 hours…(i’m in a rat hole hospital this trip)

one of the registration staff had the communal tv on msnbc…i walked out into the waiting room to medicate one of the patients and i saw msnbc and scoffed at it. one of the patients, an elderly black woman, agreed with me and asked if we could change the station. i said sure…lemme get the remote.

well…the lefty piece of shit purple-haired registration bitch got apoplectic with me. wrong.damn.answer…i let her know who pisses higher up the pole. so, i asked the elderly black woman what she wanted to watch. and as this is a very black community, her age meant she was ‘the boss’ in that room. she said she didnt want to hear about how great ‘that biden’ is. and then she lit into the democrats. i was damned near ready to dance in the aisles!

she wanted to watch foxnews because her favorite show was coming on…tucker carlson.

i turned up the volume because she was a little hard of hearing.

Jim Rickards on the supply chain. Short version: we’re gonna look like Venezuela

    https://dailyreckoning.com/rickards-bad-news-im-afraid/

A new lockdown just arose in Henan province, which is the center of Chinese electronics production. China has also locked down the port of Ningbo, which is the second largest port in China after Shanghai, and one of the largest in the world.

China has also required that crews on arriving vessels must be confined to the vessel and are not allowed onshore for normal rest and recreation. Since these crews often spend six months or more at sea, vessel operators are starting to schedule trips that avoid China.

That means that even when goods are produced, they cannot necessarily be shipped because of a shortage of vessels and crews. The situation is getting worse, not better, and will deteriorate even more as we move toward the Beijing Olympics and the Lunar New Year holidays in China.

In effect, the “factory to the world” has decided to shut down the factory, or at least large parts of it for months to come.

Elevators working in reverse as Alberta cattle feeders face increasingly desperate feed shortage

Despite the massive increase in imports, multiple feedlot owners have told RealAgriculture they are in a desperate feed situation due to the delays in rail shipments with no buffer for supply chain interruptions caused by winter weather or COVID-19.

“All things COVID, trucking shortages, a cold snap that slowed trains, plus a complete lack of understanding of how urgent and critical feed grains are by CP Rail, has caused our operation and several others I know to run completely out of grain,” says Leighton Kolk, of Kolk Farms Ltd., at Iron Springs, Alta.

“We have had to make costly and painful adjustments just to keep cattle fed till the next train arrives.”

Of the 10 thousand metric tonnes Kolk Farms ordered for November-December delivery, he says they’ve received 5,400 as of Wednesday. Kolk says their grain bins have run empty on at least four occasions in the past six weeks, while trains arrived “not just days, but weeks later than scheduled.”

Older workers press age discrimination claims in challenge to IBM layoffs
Dozens from Massachusetts are among those alleging bias

They were a youthful brigade at Lotus Software in the 1990s, when the Cambridge firm was revolutionizing office work with its cutting-edge e-mail platform. When their company was swallowed by IBM, they helped the high-tech giant push into big data and digital health.

More recently, when they’d moved into their peak earnings-and-savings years — just as IBM was scrambling to remake itself for what it called “a new era of technology” — they were summarily fired.

Dozens of former Massachusetts employees, many of them Lotus veterans, are among more than 1,000 laid-off workers nationally who have charged IBM with forcing out older staffers over the past decade as part of a strategy to build a younger workforce. All of the employees were in their 40s, 50s, and 60s when they lost their jobs. IBM has been fighting the charges for over two years, saying they have no merit.

    https://www.bostonglobe.com/2022/01/22/metro/older-workers-press-age-discrimination-claims-challenge-ibm-layoffs/

If IBM has been laying them off for a decade, I don’t know how you prove this. My ex was a juror on a case where a grocery store chain (Safeway?) was sued for the same thing, but their firings took place over 1 year. The jury nailed the grocery store chain, they had to pay out millions.

General Motors is the poster child for effing this up. When the gas shortage hit back in the 70s, Dad was 55 and GM offered buyouts to people who had x number of years in. Dad had over 25. They offered 80% salary with cost of living raises, the same health care, and perks (like cars at cost for you and your immediate family, 1 per year for EACH). My sister and I were on our own by then so Dad jumped at it. He never worked a day after that and he never drove anything other than a Cadillac. Never had a mortgage either.

The mistake GM made was it believed the actuary tables, which showed all these people would be dead in 10-15 yrs. They didn’t account for advances in medical care.

Dad died at 89. GM supported him for more retirement years than they did in active employment. He was far from the only one and it nearly bankrupted GM

I’m probably the only one here who pays attention to ‘design’ trends. I do it because it’s an indicator of the economy.

today I got the monthly from realtor.com and it’s about as far off as I’ve ever seen it.

    ———-

    3. No curtains (and extra windows where possible)

not with energy prices like they are and will be.

    6. Curves

No. They take up space (try storing jars as opposed to square storage and see how much space you lose). The price of housing is sky high, anything that takes up square footing adds to the price

    8. Woven furniture and accessories

It’s all imported, you won’t see it for at least a year. I got a rattan kitchen set just under the wire. Spoke to them day before yesterday, their orders are – well, Joyce said, “We don’t even know”

    11. Laminate vinyl plank flooring

If you want to trash the value of your house, be my guest

You may have noticed empty shelves in some stores due to national supply chain issues, but there is no need to buy more than you normally would.

    Yup
Been there done that hundreds of times and got all of the T shirts.

Doing a NON-PRECISION APPROACH to minimums is OK in an empty aircraft where it’s only your own arses in the sling. The terrain was dead flat and clear so as long as they maintained minimums and didm’t get tempted to ‘go have a quick peek’ a bit lower, they are just fine. As the comment said there was a Precision approach just down the road if they missed the approach and had to ‘go Around’.

Doing the REAL thing with a Precision Approach and STILL seeing very little if anything can extend one sometimes. Have a few goes and if you reach your ‘Bingo’ (divert point) then go someplace else. Problem is when your flying into an island where the weather system covers the WHOLE country and the Alternate destination is up and down with minimums that it gets a bit fidgety. We used to use Fiji as our alternate when the WHOLE of NZ was effectively closed due weather. You reached your ‘Bingo’ someplace between NZ and Fiji. You have to use your judgement to ascertain whether you can trust the NZ forecasts overall. Once you cross that imaginary line you are committed to LAND and you will be overhead Auckland with a single approach fuel of 5 tonnes plus your emergency reserve of 45 minutes …. then ZIP! Been there a few times as well. Landed a F-27 on Norfolk island in zero – Zero conditions with a cross wind above the aircraft maximums by an additions 10 knots (i.e 50 Knots across)and a wet slippery grass strip. We would have never made it back to the beach in NZ and would have had to ditch at zero fuel at a bunch of vertical rock islands 400 nM North of NZ with the sea full of Great Whites.

We decided to LAND whatever the outcome on the ground. Heavy landing check needed but we got 47 passengers down in one piece. I was flying with one of the GREAT skippers, Mo Clothier. A true gentleman and a superb aeroplane handler. He used to ‘moonlight’ flying grossly overweight 4 engined Viscounts out of Singapore into grass paddocks in Cambodia lit by car lights. His cargos were always the same on the Paperwork. ….. Playing Cards….

(mostly it was mortar bombs and high explosives that were actually carried. Mo was One GREAT operator, with his waxed handlebar moustache and sparkling blue eyes.

Remember 1938 with the German exercising in Russia, exporting technology to the Soviets and getting raw materials in return. Remember the 100 Soviet divisions on the Polish Border, a little fact that fell down the West’s Memory Hole, once Soviet Russia got invaded by its erstwhile ally Germany, and decided that it didn’t like it one bit?

Wanna watch the Sacramento Bee have an epic meltdown? Here ya go!

Placer County’s Board of Supervisors are thrilled that Hillsdale College, a small, ultra-conservative Christian university, plans to build a campus on farmland west of Roseville. The problem is that Hillsdale is an extremist institution, perpetuating alternative facts and harmful conspiracy theories. Placer County’s agreement with Hillsdale signals a deeper conflict in our county – that of local elected officials not only entertaining fringe beliefs but creating a space where young people can be radicalized against democracy.

[which begs the question how those officials got elected in the first place if their beliefs are so ‘fringe’ HIYA BUNK!]

Take Hillsdale’s mission statement, for example: “The College values the merit of each unique individual, rather than succumbing to the dehumanizing, discriminatory trend of so-called ‘social justice and ‘multicultural diversity.’”

What’s wrong with social justice and multicultural diversity? And why would Hillsdale so openly flout ideas meant to create a just nation except to profit off of division between people? This statement is a gratuitous dog whistle indicating a profit motive for being an anti-liberal arts college.

The test company, known as the Center for COVID Control, has received over $124 million from the federal government as reimbursement for COVID-19 testing. The company once operated over 300 locations in 26 states and gathered over 80,000 COVID-19 tests daily.

The Palin v. NYT trial will be an “excruciating experience” for the paper

    https://hotair.com/headlines/2022/01/23/the-palin-v-nyt-trial-will-be-an-excruciating-experience-for-the-paper-n443503

Boutrous summarized his reading of the case like this: “I don’t think she can possibly prove that the newspaper or its journalists acted with actual malice or that she suffered any harm from the original version of the editorial, which was quickly clarified and corrected. This lawsuit has always seemed to me to be part of a disturbing trend in recent years of high-profile political figures misusing libel suits as political stunts intended to chill speech on matters of public concern — exactly what the First Amendment forbids.”

Jeffrey Toobin, CNN’s chief legal analyst, also agreed that Palin is likely to lose in trial. But he stressed that doesn’t mean it’s going to be rainbows and unicorns for The Times in court. “Even though I expect The Times will ultimately win this case, the trial is likely to be an excruciating experience for everyone associated with it at The Times,” Toobin told me. “Because the simple fact is the story was wrong. And no journalist wants to be in a position of defending a story that was wrong.”

Well, maybe. I think it may have been more probable 4 years ago when Palin first filed, but now, with the plebes having the elites in their sights over all the pandemic lies, the NYT may experience collateral damage just because people are up to their back teeth with all the lies and this is a time for vengeance

Gov Hochul’s mask mandate just got smacked down by the state court

MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — A New York judge ruled Monday that the state’s mask mandate can’t be enforced, after it was reinstituted by Gov. Kathy Hochul over concerns about a winter surge of coronavirus cases.

State Supreme Court Judge Thomas Rademaker said in his decision that the state Department of Health didn’t have the legal authority to implement the mandate, and that it was up to the state Legislature to do so if needed.

The mandate “is a law that was promulgated and enacted unlawfully by an executive branch state agency, and therefore void and unenforceable,” the judge said.

Yes it was. Hubby went to a fund raiser at Tony Podesta’s house. When Tony was married to that Heather person. The connection between Hubby and Tony is via Patrick Leahy – via John Podesta – Leahy gave John a job – Hubby thinks it was John’s first job on the Hill – and Hubby had connections to Pat – long story short – everybody knew everybody.

And just FYI – Tony is now a lobbyist for Huwai or however you spell it. $1 mill/year

Hubby was appalled. There were sexually explicit art works all over the place and Heather was encouraging people to view it all. Some of it involved children. She thought it was great and fun. Hubby walked out. He said it was the most sickening thing he’d ever seen. Hubby said he never talked to Pat about it, it was too embarrassing.

Pizzagate was a lie. But it had traction because there was a shit load going down that everybody knew about but wouldn’t say. That Maria Abramova person (did I get her name right?) with her fecal art work is documented.

Virginia’s newly elected Republican governor, who has banned critical race theory in public schools, is launching a tip line to report teachers of “divisive subjects.”

In a Monday interview with the conservative radio host John Fredericks, Gov. Glenn Youngkin said parents could email the state government to report any public-school teachers they believed to be “behaving objectionably.”

Youngkin said: “We’re asking for folks to send us reports and observations that they have that will help us be aware of things like privilege bingo, be aware of their child being denied their rights that parents have in Virginia. And we’re going to make sure we catalog it all.

“This gives us a great insight into what’s happening at a school level, and that gives us further ability to make sure we’re rooting it out.”

On Tuesday, a real zinger was dropped onto the medRxiv preprint server that could potentially explain many of the commonly observed pathogenic features of SARS-CoV-2. The authors provide solid evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein activates the envelope (ENV) protein encoded by HERV-W in blood cells, which is in turn directly responsible for many pathological features of the disease. HERV-W is named for the fact that many retroviruses in the group use a tryptophan tRNA in the primer binding site. Apparently, the shape of the letter W somehow reminded the naming committee of the shape of the ring structure of atoms in the side chain of tryptophan.

Researchers had previously observed a correlation in the expression of HERV-W ENV protein in T lymphocytes with severe respiratory distress in SARS-CoV-2 patients. However, the exact mechanisms involved were not clear. Now, the real culprit in HERV-W activation has been discovered. Researchers added a recombinant trimeric spike protein without stabilizing mutations to cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from SARS-CoV-2 patients. They found immediate and significant upregulation of the RNAs for the ENV protein from both HERV-W and HERV-K. Curiously, only the RNAs for HERV-W resulted in subsequent ENV protein expression.

Yes, one of our ethics training modules over the years was “anti-boycott awareness training” and dealt with the fact that contracts with countries for foreign sales that included boycott provisions, with Israel specifically named, were strictly illegal and could lead to contractor debarment.

Astronomers Detect Strange Signals We’ve Never Seen Before in Our Cosmic Vicinity

Something in Earth’s cosmic neighborhood is emitting weird signals of a kind we’ve never seen before.

Just 4,000 light-years away, something is flashing radio waves. For roughly 30 to 60 seconds, every 18.18 minutes, it pulses brightly, one of the most luminous objects in the low-frequency radio sky. It matches the profile of no known astronomical object, and astronomers are gobsmacked. They have named it GLEAM-X J162759.5-523504.3.

“This object was appearing and disappearing over a few hours during our observations,” said astrophysicist Natasha Hurley-Walker of the Curtin University node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) in Australia.

A lot has happened since my well known essay “The Collapse of the Never Trumpers” appeared in 2018 — and none of it has been good for that tribe of pundits or their garden gnome leader, Bill Kristol. In fact, most of them have seen their careers collapse so spectacularly that only Michael Avenatti could really understand. George Will has semi-retired to a life of boring students to death as a commencement speaker at small colleges. Jonah Goldberg and Steven Hayes used to appear on Fox News regularly but now they pretend to fax a newsletter every morning to their remaining friends and family and David French.

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to retire

Breyer to step down at the end of the current Supreme Court term early this summer

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is retiring, Fox News confirmed, setting President Biden up with the first opportunity to fill a vacancy on the high court.

A source close to Breyer told Fox News that the justice will step down at the end of the current Supreme Court term early this summer.

Breyer, who is 83, has been the subject of rampant speculation about his retirement. Liberal activists were calling for the justice to retire soon after Biden was inaugurated.

Breyer was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat. Breyer’s replacement will need to be confirmed by the Senate, which is currently split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, with Democrats technically holding the majority because Vice President Harris can break ties.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that the White House won’t be commenting, at least for now, about Breyer stepping down.

Buy a ‘Paintball protective mask’ that covers the nose , mouth and upper neck. They cost just $18. When some arsehole insists in masking up put it on. When they object which they will argue that the discussion is now about pore size. Have all of the relevant data ready and tie them up in minutia of viral sizes and how one needs 100 nanometre masks to keep out aerosol viral particulate matter. Tell them that you are complying with their mask mandate and accuse them of refusing to stick to their own rules.

Just keep using their own crazy rules against them until they either cry ‘uncle’ or wind up the meeting!

I assure you eagles that the Saudis have contracts aplenty with Israel, usually brokered through a middleman in one of the Gulf States. It’s great work if you can swing it. My company had one such contract and acted as ‘middle-man’ between a US based ammunition manufacturing Company based in South Dakota and the Government of Brunei, who were notorious for ‘backshee’ deals. The US company were terrified of the FBI investigating any deal with Brunei’s defence department and RBTS the accounting wing of the Brunei administration.

We provided the ‘cut-out’ and negotiated the price between the parties. The US manufacturer factored in a huge commission for us, and we negotiated with several government of Brunei stake holders’ payments for their ‘ahem….expenses’!

Worked well although the corrupt Bruneian army officers tried to cut an inside deal and even attempted to back out completely. We had already assumed that this would happen and we had a 33 1/3% advance deposit sitting in a bank in NYC for just this scenario. After dragging their heels for 6 months the Bruneians realized that we had them by the balls, so they paid up in full and the ammo was released and shipped via the UK. Easiest $1/2 million I ever earned!

Sounds like a neutron star that is processing due to the influence of a nearby massive invisible but dense binary member, locked into a a binary orbit around a common focus. Precession (wobble) would cause the outpouring of magnetically focused radio waves to sweep past our sun and orbiting planets for a period of 30-60 seconds, on a regular basis, every 18.8 minutes.

It would seem so eagles. But remember that the US Navy is always the most ‘liberal’ of the services. Perhaps the new Space Corps will give the navy a run for its money on that one.

The numbers of naval ships running into each other, burning themselves out and running into other ships seems a bit worrying. Still eagles they do make for an inclusive gender balances ‘woke’ service. If the US Marine ever stayed ashore I believe that the USN in its present state would end up on the beach! Scientists have created incredible robotic grippers inspired by the Japanese art of Kirigami that are delicate enough to lift a raw egg yolk without breaking it.

Kirigami is a Japanese art similar to origami, except it makes use of intricate cuts to paper, rather than relying on folding alone, to create striking 3D art.

The plastic grippers, created by experts at North Carolina State University, are also precise enough to lift a human hair and a live fish without hurting it.

Footage shows that they lift blobs of shampoo foam and even pine nuts off the top of a raw egg yolk without puncturing it.

One of Satan’s “big lies” is convincing people, and Christians in particular, is that there is the possibility of creating heaven on earth and that the church (that is, the Universal Christian Church, the fellowship of all believers in salvation through Christ alone) should, as its primary mission be working to establish peace on earth and establishing an earthly kingdom. Christ himself, and the apostles were quite clear that Christians are in the world, but not of the world, and that as the end grows near, evil will be more prevalent than good. We are to be beacons in the world by showing the way to eternal peace, not by falsely promising earthly peace. That doesn’t mean Christians don’t do good in the places in which they have been placed, it just means that the objectives are spiritual and souls, not establishing some earthly kingdom.

Even in Texas, you have to be in immediate fear for your life or someone else’s life. Sadly, you can’t just shoot stupid crazy people who are screaming at you.

I think there is ample reason to refer to Fauci and those like him as evil. As well as the people in the Biden administration who are actively working to destroy our country. The policies implemented like shutting down Keystone, supporting the Russian gas pipeline, trying to close other natural gas lines, stopping oil exploration, allowing a flood of unvetted illegals into the country, and the COVID nonsense are not something that any rational person can say are good things for anyone. They are all causing pain and hardship to the very citizens the administration is supposed to represent. … and they know it, this is not a surprise to them or unexpected, they know these consequences are resulting from their policies. That is evil. … as is using ol’ Slow Joe as their puppet. Yeah, he is evil as well and was while he was mentally competent. Now he is just a puppet that they use with little competence left.

One kick to his junk, he went down like a box of rocks and after that I let Molly shit in his yard. Poop bags? Never heard of them. Never saw him again either.

Tucker showed some bus/van outside scotus telling Bryer to retire and it looks like this was leaked to force his hand.

Psaki was very clear about this – Breyer has not announced anything. They’re trying to force his hand before the midterms, it seems.

yeah, well he’s Justice Breyer and – you’re not.

We are DEFINITELY paying waaaaaay too much for housing in NZ! USD 750k= NZ$1.15 million here and for that ANYWHERE in the country you get comfort in the back blocks and just 1500 square feet single story timber stand alone house on a 1/5 acre, on average, anywhere in a city.

We are up against a foe in the world that has thrown its’ hand in with pure evil in a parallel Spiritual War fought against ,Thrones, Dominions (lordships), Principalities (rulerships, princes), and Powers (authorities). Most folks have lost sight of the spiritual and think this just all about the physical. The physical Culture War we are fighting is just a side show to the core spiritual war that is going on for the last 500 years. Over the past 60 years the Spiritual War appears to be coming to a head!

I don’t know what to make of this and I can’t vouch for the source

A mini-investigation by the National Catholic Register reveals private meetings in the Vatican of Pfizer’s CEO, while the Secretary of State, Cardinal Parolin, singles out the Pfizer vaccine for exclusion from possible conscientious objection. This contradicts the famous Note of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Plausible scenario. Kamala moved to Supreme Court where she can screw up the country for the rest of her miserable life, Hillary as VP to replace her. In early to late 2023, Biden steps down due to “health concerns”, Hillary assumes presidency. Probably later in 2023 so she can’t screw things up too badly and can then run on the “don’t change horses in mid-stream, we are making progress” slogan.

Not if the chip foundaries are destroyed in the invasion. Either by the invaders or by those being invaded as scorched earth policy
