I never heard of ESSER funds. Apparently they are fed monies given to schools to support remote learning. And look at this

“…not adhering to other mitigations when we remove one could put our Federal grant relief dollars of 1.3 million at risk, as mitigations are expected as part of those guidelines for receiving the ESSER funds”

Crimeny. A moose attacked a musher’s team while she was on a training run. This is one of the most horrific things I’ve heard and I followed the iditarod thing for a few years. Her mom is Aliy Zirkle, a highly respected musher.

A moose stomped her dogs for an hour after she put 4 bullets in it

Randi Weingarten suggests not getting rid of masks until zero transmission in school

American Federation for Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten suggested Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that in order to end masking for students and teachers, the spread of COVID-19 needs to be “low enough” so that there’s no transmission in schools.

Co-host Willie Geist asked the AFT president about the argument against unmasking children.

“I am in favor of an off ramp on masks,” Weingarten said. “The real issue becomes, is the spread low enough so that there’s no dissemination and transmission in schools?”

“And it’s not the teachers transmitting to kids, it’s more kids and kids particularly in elementary schools right now,” she continued.

Joy Reid rails against ‘new Plessy’ Supreme Court: ‘Fascist white minority rule’

Left-wing MSNBC host Joy Reid took to Twitter Tuesday for an odd rant aimed at the U.S. Supreme Court, predicting its future decisions concerning voting laws would mirror those made by the court that decided the case Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896.

Homer Plessy, a New Orleans shoemaker, was arrested for refusing to leave a Whites-only railroad car in 1892 to protest racial segregation, which sparked the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that cemented “separate but equal” into law for half a century.

The ruling solidified Whites-only spaces in public accommodations such as hotels, schools, and transportation for decades.

“America: we have a new Plessy Court. And it will rule 6-3 and 5-4 for radical Christian right, megacorporations and the super rich until we are essentially fascist white minority rule 1980s South Africa with a Taliban twist for women and the LGBTQ. Godspeed…” Reid tweeted in response to the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordering a stay on Alabama’s new congressional maps amid a legal review.

Professor Luc Montagnier died yesterday. I saw one post on twitter in English from a french source but couldn’t find confirmations so I asked. I did find a French source.

He won the Nobel in Medicine in 2008 and called the wu flu a bioweapon. He got raked and advised his family to not make a general announcement of his passing because of the treatment he got from the media.

    He was 89.

    uh…look at this

Facebook and the EU aren’t getting along (haul out that teeny violin)

The European court decision annulled a treaty between the U.S. and the EU that permitted technology companies to send data across the Atlantic, according to the New York Post.

The court ruled that the arrangement didn’t protect the privacy of European consumers.

Facebook had 309 million daily users in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to data published by Statista.

If Meta follows through on its threat to pull the platform from Europe, it could negatively impact the company’s finances further and cost Zuckerberg even more money.

That is interesting. The plane that crashed onto the USS Vinson looked like it was going quite fast. Also the fire crews were on it straight away.

Normally an F35C lands vertically when it is lighter because it has less fuel and weapons.

Rolling landings are a recent development.

First trialed by the British Navy.

The F-35C is the carrier-borne version. It doesn’t have vertical takeoff or landing capability. It’s launched using a catapult, and recovered with a tail hook, just like an F-18.

The F-35B is the vertical/short-takeoff model that flies off of our amphibious assault ships. That’s the model the Brits have. It’s not equipped with a tail hook.

Depends on what you want to do with it. The B model is a lot more complex and expensive to maintain, and loses a lot of range. It’s more flexible in where it can operate from, though.

The crash on the Vinson is going to end up as pilot error, I’m guessing.

I’m not sure why the USN is investigating the “leak” unless they’re trying to squelch it’s use in foreign propaganda.

A worse scenario is if it was intentional sabotage like what happened to the Bonnie Dick.

If you want to see something go vertical, check out an F-22 sometime. I went to the big airshow at Nellis AFB a few years ago, and they had one flying there.

That beast has a rate of climb of 62,000 feet per minute.

I went to an airshow the weekend after I saw the stationary plane. There was a lull in the festivities, then we heard an incredible roar. A Harrier slowly appeared from behind a low hill and just stared while screaming at us. Then it took a bounce and went vertical.

Harrier was awesome. Saw a prototype at air display at RAF Finningly when I was a very small child.

    Also sonic booms were allowed.

    And a Vulcan scramble.

Highlight was English Electric Lightnings going vertical.

There is an episode of The Saint (circa 1967) that used footage of the prototype of the Harrier (they called it the Osprey) in it.

When I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB a buddy who was an Air Traffic Controller told me what happened when the first Harrier landed there.
The ATC guiding him in told him he was too high and needed to go around, he responded that he was just fine and not to worry. The ATC by this time was getting frantic, when the Harrier was a bit over half way down the runway, in front of the tower, he put it in hover and set it down. The ATC’s response was “airplanes can’t do that.”

Got to see the Vulcan, BOAC Lightning, Buccaneer, and many others perform at the annual RAF Mildenhall air shows.

I got to watch B-58 Hustlers and B-36 Peacemakers take off and land as a child. I would crawl under the fence and sit at the past the EOR to watch. The Air Police (later known as Security Police) would pick me up and take me home. Later we rented a house off base, never did find out my antics had any thing to do with it.

Later in life I loaded special weapons on the F-111F’s and FB-111’s, the only aircraft the Soviets were afraid of. They could come in at over 2 and a half times the speed of sound and 150 feet off the ground.

Dept of Homeland Security could teach Goebbels

“As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning,” the bulletin says.

“Meanwhile. COVID-19 mitigation measures – particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates – have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures,” it continues.

Colorado Springs was an interesting place to live for an aviation enthusiast. I could literally see the Air Force Academy football stadium from my rear deck. That’s where they hold graduation.

The Thunderbirds come into town about a week prior every year and practice the performance they do at the end of the ceremony. I used to sit out on the deck and watch them.

And you’re liable to see just about anything visit Peterson AFB across town. I saw F-22s there several times.

Fort Carson has a large Army aviation contingent, as well. I woke up one morning to the sound of a helicopter that sounded like it was right outside my bedroom window. When I looked outside, there was an AH-64D landing in the city park next door. Still not sure why. Probably some sort of mechanical problem.

This actually happened to me in a store.

The girl serving was totally unable to calculate the cost of ten packets of bolts that cost $1.25 each packet. I suggested that all she needed to do was move the decimal point one position to the right. THAT was totally beyond her ken. She couldn’t find a calculator and she didn’t understand enough maths to just multiply it. I even suggested that she could add the cost of packets ten times. She just glazed over. Eventually she scanned each packet until she’d scanned all of them. I even suggeste that she could just scan a packet ten times but that concept was totally beyond her as she kept saying ….” but I’ve already scanned that packet”.

At that stage words failed me

She seemed like a normal young girl . She totally lacked ANY math concepts. My just turned 3 year old counts to 37, understands addition and subtraction which he does in his head and recognizes numbers and just doesn’t count using the usual songs. He also knows his alphabet by rote and can sound out words using the letters. He’s also memorizing common used words by sight.

I read to his daddy every night when he was growing up. He loved his ‘bookies’

Now HIS son loves his Bookies’ as well.

He gets his math from his mummy who is one ‘straight A’s smart lady with an advanced degree in IT.

    @ Aussie Infidel:
I worked in a bar for many years. It had a primitive cash register where you just rang up the cost of the sale. It didn’t ask what the customer gave you then displayed what change you should give.

    The trauma!!!!

How do you know what change to give the customer?

Some rookie bartenders subtracted what the bar tab was and subtracted it from what the customer gave them. Most times they were $1 off.

Calculating change does not involve ANY subtraction math.

    It is addition only.

Actually just counting upwards either out loud, which I did, or in your head.

Same here. I worked in a general store when I was in high school. All the cash register did was add up the total.

I went to the drive-thru at a Sonic (a regional burger chain) near my house in Colorado one time. As I pulled up to the speaker to order, I heard, “I’m sorry, but our computer is down.”

I was going to say, “That’s fine. I have cash,” assuming that they couldn’t accept credit cards as a result. Then the person continued, “We can’t make any food until it’s fixed.”

WTF? Why do you need a computer to make a cheeseburger and fries?

  139. Possum
    141 | February 10, 2022 10:51 pm

    @ Possum:
To expand. If, say, the bar tab was $13.75 and customer gave bartender $20 the bartenders would see the 13 and the 20 and think 7

So get $7 out of cash register, then see the 75 and think another 25 and hand customer $7.25 in change.

$13.75 tab plus $7.25 back in change is $21

My way is customer gives you a $20 and you count up.

“Here is your change, a quarter takes us to $14 and $1 takes us to $15 and another $5 makes $20. Thank you and see you again. “

Many years ago I worked in a hospital in the OR.

I didn’t have a specific OR I worked in, kind of did them all.

Was assigned to the Cardio/Thoracic theater one night as I had worked it before. The open heart lots of fucking blood on the floor kind of stuff.

As per procedure assisting the anesthetist and I hit play on the cassette tape thingy to play relaxing music as the victim was being put to sleep, possibly for the last time. Things were different in the 70’s.

Anesthetist went nuts! Patient still awake….

    Turn that fucking shit OFF!

Um, anesthetist that night was not usual open heart surgery putter to sleeper person.

Doctors are such fucking drama queens….

So here’s the issues… One Premier Ford is a “conservative” premier. First term and now done. Ontario is fucked for the long term now. Two, GiveSendGo doesn’t hold onto the money, it gives it out as fast as it gets it apparently in crypto. Court order is dead in the water. Now, the third and final thing is that the Freedom Convoy gets a kick at the can with the judicial system. They have lots of lawyers.

Addendum: The border blockades aren’t part of the freedom convoy, conservatives are pissed at Doug Ford, Ontario’s economy is about to be fucked over and done dirty.

    Try it as a Percentage.

Auckland mean house prices have been increasing at 18-25% per annum for a decade or more. The average hovel in Auckland proper especially one where you can see the sea is $1.2 million. Even 80 minutes south the average 3 bedroom house goes for $550K and if you’re on a beach it’s $1.4 million.

The good news is however that if you have US$ then two gets you three Kiwi $$$s.

Medical Company CEO Suggests No Public Health Care for Unvaccinated

The CEO of a major medical equipment maker said that those who refused to get a COVID-19 vaccine should be “automatically considered” to have forfeited the right to obtain COVID-19 treatment in a public hospital.

Stefan Dräger, the CEO of major German medical manufacturer Dräger, told Die Welt that those who reject getting a shot for the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus should not be able to get publicly funded hospital treatment for the disease. Dräger is considered one of the largest makers of ventilators in the world.

“Anyone who refuses vaccination must forgo treatment in the hospital,” he said, reported other German media citing Welt, according to a German-to-English translation. “If he refuses, this is automatically considered a patient decree that if he falls ill with the virus, he will not be treated in hospital at the expense of the general public,” Dräger also said in the interview, published Thursday.

His argument for such a protocol, which is sure to draw criticism, is because it “avoids overburdening hospitals and staff,” he added.

The German CEO also stated: “What bothers me about mandatory vaccination is that the state then makes the decision for the people and relieves them of their responsibility.

“In my opinion, a large, silent majority in our country is currently suffering from an unrepentant minority,” Dräger continued. “I also mean this in a medical sense, for example [since] the treatment of other illnesses or operations has to be postponed.”

Plans to attempt to authorize the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid vaccine for children under 5 before full data are available appear to have run aground.

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday canceled a key meeting of its vaccines advisory committee that had been slated for next Tuesday to discuss the submission, saying that the delay “will give the agency time to consider … additional data.”

Both the FDA and the companies suggested the application for authorization won’t proceed until there are data showing how well the vaccine works after a third dose. Those data should be available in early April, the companies said.

The measure of inflation has been manipulated in the West for the past 30 years, by carefully manipulating the basket of goods and services on which the metric is measured. The government can ‘arrange’ whatever rate of ‘inflation’ it desires by simply varying the proportions of costs that it samples.

It’s all a scam Eagles. Go ask the average shopper what they think inflation is currently running at and that estimate is MUCH closer to the real mark.

A foot and a half of OHC made up of rammed sandbags, supporting 6″ timbers, rocks and soil suitably camoflagued should do the trick. Don’t forget a slightly deeper firing position with drainage in the bottom, surrounded by rammed earth sandbags two bags thick, and finally line the sleeping OHP position with your waterproof groundsheet.

    HEY AUSSIE??

Big Pharma payola scandal erupts in Australia, takes down six corrupt officials and Australian Premier Berejiklian

More than half a dozen staff members of New South Wales, Australia Premier Gladys Berejiklian have resigned in shame over their involvement in a massive Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) bribery scheme.

Berejiklian and her comrades reportedly took tens of millions of dollars from Big Pharma in exchange for pushing lockdowns and now “vaccines,” destroying countless lives and businesses in the process.

According to a former Australian member of parliament (MP), Pfizer and AstraZeneca both paid lobbyists to push vaccine mandates on the people, ensuring a steady stream of ill-gotten profits.

Just prior to ousting herself, Berejiklian was seen on a jumbo screen at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney telling children who were being herded in as part of a mass vaccination drive that getting jabbed for the Chinese Virus is necessary to stay “safe” and “healthy.”

Clive Palmer, head of the United Australia Party, says that Berejiklian was promised that she would not be charged in a corruption probe if she imposed a vaccine mandate. She allegedly accepted that offer, and has since resigned from her position.

Just a heads up as we’re all focusing on the truckers thing.

    Housing.

Today we took to lunch the son of one of my BFFs who has moved to the Knoxville area from Missoula Montana. The housing prices there are obscene with all the people moving from places such as – you guessed it – California. His housing costs went up 25% in less than a year due to the influx.

One thing he noticed – housing that would normally be for sale is being bought up by firms that buy them and turn them into rentals.

Which depletes the inventory for potential ownership.

He left in part because people felt helpless that people didn’t know what to do, got tired of listening to it, and had a life to live elsewhere.

Long story short – part of the Great Reset.

from one of the sites I monitory

In an ominous sign for the kickoff of the highly anticipated spring homebuying season next month, there is a record-low number of homes on the market.

And the problem is getting exponentially worse as buyers scramble for places to live—and the inventory of available homes on the market just keeps dropping. Last month, there were just 408,922 homes for sale in the entire country of more than 332 million people, according to the latest Realtor.com® and U.S. Census Bureau data. And with the number of new listings continuing to fall, prices are expected to keep rising to new heights as buyers battle it out for just about any home with a “For Sale” sign out front.

Okay the rundown on what’s going on in Canada, Ontario specifically. On Friday Premier Ford briefly mentioned looking at a timeline of getting rid of the vax passes. Right after that he declared a “state of emergency” to deal with the border blockades and the “siege” of Ottawa.

The removal of the protestors at the Ambassador Bridge finally happened today with the truckers leaving first of their own “volition”, rest of it were people in cars and on foot supporting them.

Meanwhile in Ottawa, it’s now day 16 of Truckers for Freedom. Watching the livestreams posted by residents on the ground and the crowds were huge. Fewer trucks, but still a good number.

In Toronto the police blocked off Queen’s Park from vehicles and even shut down parts of the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway to keep truckers from showing up.

Protests are springing up all over Canada. Last I heard a BC border crossing was being shut down by protestors today.

Everyone is hating on Trudeau, and in Ontario Ford as well. Going to be an interesting few weeks I think.

REATING YOUR OWN CITIZENS AS ENEMIES OF THE STATE MAY TURN THEM INTO SUCH: New Zealand deploys tactic used against Noriega on Freedom Convoy. “The protesters didn’t seem particularly fazed by these efforts. When the sprinklers came on they dug drainage trenches to channel the water off of the lawn and spread hay on the ground to absorb it. When the music began, some of them spontaneously broke into a dance in time with the tunes. Others turned up their own speakers and began blasting Twister Sister’s ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ back at the Parliament building. Few were reported as leaving the camp. . . . Of course, there’s a significant difference between Noriega and the Freedom Convoy participants. Noriega was the mastermind of years of rigged elections, massive drug trafficking, and an untold number of murders and disappearances. The convoy participants are demonstrating in front of their elected representatives in opposition to government policies with which they disagree.”

The West’s arrogant, entitled political class, however, seems to model its approach on the Bourbons, the Romanovs, and the Ceausescus.

His problem was living in Missoula. Missoula, Bozeman, and a couple other places were overrun by California ages ago. Property values have increased statewide but not nearly as much as they have in those areas. The Californians flock to certain areas, mostly snow bunny areas, and bring their high prices and crime with them. Outside of those areas it isn’t too bad. Though here in Billings, being the largest metropolitan area in the state, our crime is out of control, but that is related to the fact that we are the dumping zone for the prison release system in the state and our homeless situation is seriously out of control.

The US military did actually have some MiG-29s back in the day. They were purchased from Moldova about 20 years ago, in order to keep them from being sold to Iran.

The Air Force played around with them for a few years and eventually scrapped most of them. There are a few on display in various museums, and a handful that are privately owned. I saw one of them at the Pima Air and Space Museum when I was in Tucson back in November, in fact.

And things are going to get ugly up here. Trudeau is thinking about invoking the Emergency Measures Act (which replaced the War Measures act). It’s never been invoked since it was passed into law. The War Measures act was last invoked in 1970 by Pierre Trudeau to “deal” with the FLQ crisis in Quebec. Where there were kidnappings, bombings, murders, and so forth.

It needs consultation with affected provinces and Doug Ford has stepped in it by declaring a state of emergency on Friday.

    Emerald Robinson is a treasure.

Who killed JFK? The first shot came from THE FRONT. Not the back. The windshield in the National Archives is a fake replacement

But there in frame 230, in the Zapruder film as well as the Altgens, is that white spec on the left side of the windshield, in exactly the same place in all photos. It doesn’t take a ballistics genius to see, just looking at the Zapruder frame, that if one draws a straight line to the place Kennedy is clutching his throat to the white spec on the windshield — and it IS a bullet hole, just as so many witnesses have said, the line of fire extends to the FRONT of the limousine. And that means the first shot to hit Kennedy came from in front of him.

Canada Live Updates: Trudeau Declares National Emergency, Allowing Temporary Suspension of Civil Liberties

The move is the first time the government has taken such action in half a century, and is Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s most aggressive response since the protests roiling the country began.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took the rare step of declaring a national public order emergency on Monday — allowing him to temporarily suspend civil liberties — in a push to end protests that have paralyzed the center of the Canadian capital for more than two weeks and reverberated across the country.

The move, the first time a Canadian government has taken such action in half a century, is Mr. Trudeau’s most aggressive response since the crisis began. It will allow the federal government to override civil rights to reopen impeded border crossings and clear the blockade of about 400 trucks in Ottawa, the nation’s capital, that has been overwhelming the police, snarling traffic, undermining the local economy and disturbing residents in the normally quiet city.

The invocation of the Emergencies Act confers enormous temporary powers on the federal government, allowing it to do what is necessary to restore public order, for example, banning public assemblies or restricting travel to and from specific areas. While the prime minister and the cabinet can invoke the act whenever they see fit if the security of Canada is deemed under threat, the decision must then be approved by Parliament within a week.

Anti-mandate protesters are holding a twitter space “emergency meeting” in response to the state of emergency.

One who was at the Windsor/Detroit border blockade tells a story of how their communications were infiltrated, leading to organizational collapse…

Protesters were using Zello, a live communications app. The problem was counter-protesters were spamming their channels with the gay cowboy anthem Ram Ranch.

So they moved to a new channel. The problem was the moderator of the channel turned out to be a double agent. “This person gained our trust. We trusted them as a moderator,” the guy says.

    “Traitor! Traitor!” another person yells

That moderator who turned out to be “part of the resistence” apparently shut things down and ruined their ability to communicate, allowing the police to roll up the blockade. “It’s a morale blow,” he said.

Another guy adds: “What a clusterfuck.”

Aaaand someone started playing Ram Ranch on this feed.

“Christ on a cross!” one protester yells.

Things have kind of fallen apart as the resistance infiltrates the space. “Yeah I’ve got a plan. Why don’t we go full court press tonight. I mean full court press. Fuck these cops,” says one guy though honestly I’ve lost track of who is legit and who is mocking them.

There’s lots of talk of needing money. “None of us know how to use that goddamn bitcoin,” says one guy.

“I’ve got kids… I need some money here. I can’t do this,” says another.

“What happened to the money we donated? I gave $600” says one woman.

    “It’s gone. Byyyeeee” says another.

This has gone way off the rails. Actual quote just now: “What is this Ram Ranch people are talking about? Is it somewhere we can go and get our money?”

Oh my god… I don’t know how to explain this…

They’re trying to figure out options to insure their vehicles.

One guy says he’s got a live feed of an insurance company feed, then the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme plays. The ranchers, as they’re being called are just incessantly punking them.

Then some guy claiming to be a trucker supporter says he knows of an American company willing to insure Canadian truckers. It’s called [coded name of an extremely gross thing to google]

“Hold on, let me write that down…. Oh my god!”

After another guy goes on a monologue about sucking off truckers, the protesters are trying to figure out how to kick out all the Ram Ranchers.

“I don’t understand what’s happening,” says one woman. “People are just disgusting.”

Quotes that are either from truckers or ranchers pretending to be truckers, I can no longer tell:

    “Whose ramming?”

“I’ve been rammed too many times over these last couple weeks.”

[A solid 20 seconds of someone blowing their nose]

Haven’t read it yet. The Fed is doing it’s own study

The Canadian Emergencies Act happens and straight away Trudeau declares that he has power to unmake crypto. The guy is a tyrant who is now just making up shit. The Act however allows him to confiscate peoples’ cash in the bank.

NZ has virtually no protections except the UN’s weak Human Rights legislation. NZ has NO CONSTITUTION and the government can just make up shit as it wants. The cars blocking the streets around Parliament are being not only ticketed but are now being towed and CONFICATED by The NZ Police under orders from the politicians…. of ALL SIDES!

The Political Class has declared war on the people of NZ

Digital money controlled by the Central Banks allows the STATE to forbid individuals from buying and selling unless they comply with arbitrary rules made up by those same Central Bankers.

Buy some gold and do NOT allow anyone offer to protect it for you!
Fiat notes pretend to be worth something however they are worth ONLY what the script on the note Promises to pay on demand. Noticed how the rules about being able to pay for ‘stuff’ with cash has been watered down during the reset / Covid emergency where only credit cards/ cash cards/ and prepaid plastic was accepted ….. in contradiction of the law!
