Thoughts for prepping. Sobering.
Last night was our monthly prepping zoom call with preppers from all around the country participating. This group consists of about 300 preppers ranging from complete novices to grizzled veterans. Of course the subject of Ukraine/Russia conflict was the main point of discussion. The first speaker is a well-established prepper in the group who has family ties back to Ukraine. His report was sobering. He has family in various parts of Ukraine that he has managed to stay in touch with you during this almost 2 week crisis. It is his take that people that are in the cities are in deep trouble. The Russians have indiscriminately shelled probably 100 urban areas ranging from smaller towns up to the Capitol itself. I was aware of that but I was not prepared to hear his assessment of how bad the damages. Many of these towns and cities have been basically leveled. Destroying the preps of many people in situ. If anything is recoverable it will take time and energy in a lot of effort. He then went on to comment that the countryside is full of refugees trying to get across the border anywhere that is safe. They have swamped and overwhelmed the country areas in large parts of the country. Very little aid is making it past the border into Ukraine at this time. Many of these refugees have nothing except for the clothes on their back.

So apparently both Buttplug and Harris trotted out yesterday and declared that the high gas prices were a great thing and would be the perfect chance for the US to “reset” to zero emissions and go all electric for vehicles. Also, apparently lots of clips of other left politicians saying the same thing in the same way on the same day. Busy today, no time yet to look them up. Never mind the fact that there isn’t an electric vehicle currently available that actually meets my needs. I need either a full-size SUV or pickup with 4WD or AWD with a towing package that can go at least 500 miles per day while towing a trailer.
The F-150 Lightning can do all but the range. With the extended range battery, it’ll go somewhere around 150 miles while towing a trailer. That means it would have to be charged twice in order to go 500 miles.
And according to the Ford website, the MSRP with the towing package and the extended range battery will be around $76,000. Add to that whatever insane markup the dealer adds (probably $30-50k). And if I ordered one today, I wouldn’t see it until about next spring.

It’s an app that saves you money on gas.

An interview from 2 weeks ago with Martin Armstrong
https://usawatchdog.com/insane-globalists-collapsing-world-economy-martin-armstrong/
In his USAWatchdog.com interview just two weeks ago, legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong said, The New World Order’s so-called ‘Great Reset’ plan for humanity is ‘falling apart,’ and pointed out, “They are basically desperate at this stage. I don’t think they anticipated the amount of resistance they are getting.”
.
.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is enormous resistance to the New World Order plans. Armstrong, who has new data from his Socrates computer analysis, is out with a fresh critical update. Armstrong explains, “It’s just total insanity. They are, really at this stage, completely collapsing the world economy. You have Apple and all these companies; there are over 300 American companies in Russia. Their assets are going to be seized. They are all now in a panic mode to get out, and you are going to see the same situation with China. This is insane. It really is insane, and you just don’t do this. I can’t believe these governments have listened to this sort of advice. It’s really, really disastrous. What creates world peace is not nuclear weapons. It’s economic, basically. As long as everybody benefits, then you are not going to bite the hand that feeds you. When you start cutting off trade on both sides, you are wiping out the global economy. That is what has provided world peace since WWII. . . . By 2023, I don’t see this backing off. Once you have undermined the global financial economy, you have removed the benefits and then it does turn to war.”
.
.
Food is high on Armstrong’s list, and he says have good old fashion cash on hand because of cyber-attacks and power outages that he sees coming in some areas. Armstrong also sees an average of 25% inflation by 2024. This, again, is according to his “Socrates” computer program.
.
.
.This is the worst crop of world leaders I have ever seen, and I have been consulting governments for 40 years. . . . The level of stupidity on the world stage is stunning.”

Just passing through. You may have seen a lot of talk/bullshit on social media about the high price of gas and how electric vehicles are immune to the high price of oil. ( petrol. I hate this dual use of the word “gas” it confuses things )
Now the price of oil/petroleum/natural gas is all tied together. It quite often comes out of the same holes in the ground. Electricity prices are not affected by the price of oil so the advocates of an electric car future tell us.
Here is a link, best one I could find where gas ( not petrol gas but natural gas ) prices on the spot market are shown.

@ eaglesoars:
I am 100% with you there on the naming of dairy products and their sale and where they were produced.
The one good thing about the EU when Britain was part of it was that the naming of produce had to be accurate.
If something was labeled ” Cheddar” it had to have been made in the Cheddar Gorge region of the UK. Cheddar type cheese was allowed for that tipe of cheese produced elsewhere. But it had to be labeled as ” type ”
Champagne is something else that is grossly miss-named in the USA. It is anything bubbly and pale that you drink.
Champagne in the EU can only be called that if it is produced in the Champagne region of France.
Anything else produced anywhere else is called Champagne type sparkling white wine.

Harry is an asshole, but he is also kind of a hero. Was in the military ( as all members of the Royal family are required to do ) and was going to resign unless he was allowed to go to Iraq with his unit. He went but the press busted him when he was there.
Andrew, ( someone who is not popular now ) was an helicopter pilot involved in the battle to re capture the Falklands from the Argentinian invasion.
Urban myth says he was told several times to stop with the heroic shit there because he was the son of the Queen.

That Exocet missile decoy thing is fucking scary. An Exocet missile is an air to ship missile. Flying a little helicopter in front of a ship and hoping the missile will chase you instead of hitting the ship takes balls.

I’m not paying $2.40 a round for .308

Yeah, it’s been quiet. I have come to the conclusion that a good part of the reason the public battlespace is overwhelmed by the pussy brigade is because we conservatives have not been willing to confront. The reasons are numerous but irrelevant for this conversation. So I decided to confront. A lot of my new neighbors may not like me, I may make them uncomfortable, I don’t give a flying fuck. Its time to put them on the back foot and make them fight. They’ve had it easy and they think they’re in the right because we’ve been letting them win the debate because we haven’t shown up. I decided to show up. Here is my last post and it has been dead silent.
The background is this asshole said we should all be happy to pay higher gas prices because we are blessed to be Americans and are sacrificing in a good cause. I responded that I would like to know what the good cause is, who benefits? His response was that if I don’t know the answer I’m too ignorant for him to waste his time to educate. Also that ‘the answer is blowing in the wind’. I loaded up.
As you don’t have the facts to answer my question about who benefits from these sacrifices, I, fortunately, do. The Green Agenda and the Biden admin has not only been honest about it, they have doubled down. They are elevating the gas prices to force us into EV. Biden tells us to buy an EV. Kamala Harris says its going to be GREAT for EV school buses. Pete Buttigieg says it will save us money! An EV costs over $50k. Depending on the battery size, it can take up to 12 hours to charge. And you get to pay for that electricity. Batteries suck in cold weather, btw. Which may not be too much of a big deal in Tennessee but people in NYC may have to work remotely and walk to the grocery store. Need I go on? We don’t have the grid infrastructure to support this, where are the charging stations, and whether you like it or not a good deal of our electricity still comes from coal. The wind turbines ain’t blowing in the wind, Sparky, and they aren’t ‘the answer’. Now – batteries. They need lithium. Go find out where that comes from and how it’s disposed of. Want that in the water table? Me neither. Now. Tell the people whose budgets are completely exploded by these prices by an admin who have an ideology that totally discounts their wellbeing on the alter of their moral superiority how lucky they are to be Americans. THEY ARE THE SACRIFICE. And you are a blithering idiot. Get off my lawn.
@ lobo91:
I was kind of giving you shit.
I come from a country where having a rifle or a shotgun was legal at age 14. Nobody at 14 needed a shotgun. It was a .410 whatever that is.
Also the rifle that was allowed at age 14 was not a rifle that fired explody bullets but an air rifle.
But the UK one was not like the American BB gun thing.
The reason we had them was for hitting targets. A sport, competition.
Hey how many kids nowadays know if you are target shooting at 25 meters then a .177 is better choice than a .22
@ eaglesoars:
I am glad other people here are using the term pussy as meaning something cute and cuddly. Not the American interpretation.
Pussy in the rest of the world means an animal that is docile, cute and cuddly.
@ eaglesoars:
A big reason this entire discussion sets my hair on fire is because my father’s family was a coal mining family. One of Dad’s brothers had six kids and Dad bought their shoes. I was born and lived until I was 10-11 year old in the foothills of Appalachia and went to school with kids who lived in tar paper shacks. I have seen abject poverty and trust me, it’s still around. I remember being in the car with mom as we came home from the grocery store. A woman walking on the side of the road, 2 kids, she was carrying a grocery bag. Mom offered her a ride. The woman ignored it. Mom stopped the car, got out, opened the back door, put the kids in the back the woman followed. Mom took her home, opened the trunk and carried her groceries and ours into her shack. The woman’s humiliation was evident even to me, I must have been about 5. Then we went back to the grocery store and re-stocked. That was one of the few times I saw my mother absolutely incandescent.
Poverty, want, insecurity, financial anxiety are spiritually degrading. To listen to these poseurs ‘offering’ to ‘suffer’ at the expense of other Americans – well – Hi Mom.

I once fired a rifle five times. It was in the UK.

An ongoing legal battle between the US’ Department of Defense and the unnamed officer has left the battleship docked and unable to deploy, as officials from the military branch look to nix the serviceman for the refusal – despite a federal judge’s recent ruling that he can’t be fired for declining the vaccine on religious grounds.

Just a great backgrounder on why the Aussies do NOT trust the US to come to their aide in a punch-up with China.
This started in 1945 and after a few false starts and some none too subtle ‘monstering’ and threats of fiscal warfare against Oz from the US, finally ‘died’ in the 1990s
Interesting that the US has three nuclear targets in Oz as waiting for Chinese nuclear tipped missiles
No guarantee, that swaps incinerated US Cities, for sheltering under the US Nuclear ‘Umbrella’, is worth the paper it’s written on. As for the Top Secret Uranium 235 enrichment methodology, that Oz invented all on its own, that the US demanded to be ‘read into’ and to exclude all others, is concerned. Oz should insist that 300 US Nuclear warheads as well as 100 thermo-nuclear warheads be sold to Oz, and under 100% Oz control, as a consequence of maintaining that top Secret enrichment technology between Oz and the US exclusively.

I disagree with the part of the story of the Australian Bomb that states…:-
‘Eighteen months after Rusk’s fractious visit to Canberra, Gorton called a general election. He declared his commitment to a nuclear-powered (if not a nuclear-armed) Australia, announcing that “the time for this nation to enter the atomic age has now arrived” and laying out his scheme for a 500-megawatt nuclear power plant to be built at Jervis Bay, on NSW’s south coast. While the defence benefits of such a reactor were unspoken, there was no mistaking the military potential of the plutonium it would be producing.
The Jervis Bay reactor never got off the drawing board, although planning reached an advanced stage. Detailed specifications were put out to tender and there was broad agreement over a British bid to build a heavy-water reactor.’
THAT is not true nor is it accurate. There was NOT one 500 Mw Pressurized Water Reactor planned for Nowra on Federal land near the Naval Base and RAN’s Fleet Air Arm training area, just south of Sydney. In fact there were TWO Fast Breeder Reactors, not only planned…. their foundations and surrounding infrastructure were in fact BUILT, contrary to this story. After complaints from the Covid bishops, the Nuncio requested Fernández to resign as if the bishop were only administrators and not fathers of their diocese. Fernández refused on grounds of conscience. So, he was called to the Vatican, but – irony of fate

looks like an interesting guy
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
L.A. just reduced the legal speed limit by 5 mph and justified it by the “if it saves only one little fucker’s life” it’s worth it.
I wonder how much of the citation money will go to union workers to replace all the signs.

Fuck him. During the Obama recession I was lined up to do some alterations to a building I worked on in in the 1990s. A $20k fee job is significant for me, but Gehry stole it.

I was really into sled dogs and the iditarod for awhile, I know I posted about it here quite a bit. Sponsored a dog that ran it. Was part of a twitter group, blah blah blah.
Then I used the term ‘spirit animal’. And got cautioned that I was culturally appropriating the natives’ by using the term.
I said “Oh really? IN ENGLISH??”
Heads exploded, I laughed at them and left. And took my money, my sponsorship, etc. with me.

Myers-Briggs is just indicative and should never be assumed to be definitive. We used to use two qualified psychologists to do cold assessments on ‘victims’ as M-B were out of the question. Placing an individual being assessed used to be pretty accurate ( in a wild arsed way) and drove our initial tactics used to attack the victim ‘physically’ ( through sleeplessness, cold, threats and physical exhaustion,) and mental attacks (playing on his imagination and fears, sleeplessness, exhaustion, sensory depravation and ploys). The psychologists admitted that they were pushing their operational envelope and knowledge and I believe we actually damaged some of these ‘victims’. We certainly did damage some of them physically, not on purpose but as a consequence of the methodology used.
The Myers Briggs is a pretty good test kind of fun too. NNot good for anything though. The crap test that companies use is based on one discredited in the 60’s that companies think will tell them if you are likely to steal or slack off, it’s absolute trash. Doesn’t reveal anything except that you’re able to waste your time answering the same questions over and over in different formats for twenty minutes.

@ Deplorable Martian Overlord:
the thing that interested me about the MB is that I took it 3 times, at 17, 28, and 40 yrs old and exactly the same outcome. that said, i noticed the pattern of the same questions reformatted over and over again pretty early in the exam when i was 17. which is right in line with the outcome type. i will say, that grossly taken, the personality traits are actually very accurate in describing me. mrs coldwarrior read them a long time ago and got a great laugh, and agreed.
is the test useful for anything real? probably not. i had fun with it tho.
