I don’t know if many people noticed this. I did. A few weeks ago a neighbor of SCOTUS justice Kavanaugh’s orSganized a protest outside his house over the leaked SCOTUS draft.

I’m reading Kellyanne Conway’s book. She tells a story. While still in the White House, she was at a restaurant celebrating one of her daughters’ birthday with her school friends. Suddenly someone grabbed her from behind, pointing her finger in Kellyanne’s face, pulling on her arm in an out of control rant.Crazed, the worst of the trolls come to life. The police were called and a court hearing scheduled, but the woman apologized and apparently there was no hearing. This woman, it turned out, is a neighbor of Kavanaugh.

Think there could be two of these zealots on the same street? Doubtful

This should be the standard. Have a tactical and strategic plan. Mike Glover teaches this in his fieldcraft survival business. He says the worst national response to school shootings has been the policy of duck and cover.

School districts that have avoided addressing this issue are corrupt. Each parent has the responsibility to insure the school superintendent is on top of protecting kids instead of using them like beto.

Almost done w/Kellyanne’s book. She doesn’t like Bannon, no biggie, a lot of people don’t. But what is REALLY odd – she never once mentions Peter Navarro who was a HUGE factor in the success of Trump’s trade policies. Not just trade policies, but gearing up for COVID and she talks A LOT about COVID.

About her husband a great deal. She has zero idea about what happened to him and states at the end she doesn’t know if they will survive. Anytime she tried to talk to him about what he’s doing all he does is scream at her YOU ARE ENABLING A MADMAN. Nothing changed after she left the WH. He doesn’t have a job, apparently his entire life and time is taking up with tweeting.

I checked his twitter feed – never looked at it before – and he sounds absolutely unhinged. I think they won’t last. Given her own background, I think Kellyanne will wait until all four kids are out of the house – then initiate divorce proceedings.

But no, there’s no mention of alcoholism

Either he was never what she thought he was and missed a lot of signs over 17 years of marriage – or something happened that is inexplicable. He never became employed after they moved to D.C. after a brilliant career in NY. Unemployed, he just tweets trash all day. When their daughter, Claudia, got caught up in the tik tok thing, she was sure he’d come out of his bubble to protect their child, but all he did was look at Kellyanne and say “What do you want me to do about it?” Eventually, he got off his ass, but first response was pretty damning.

Oh. I should also say – she has nothing but admiration and respect for all the Trump children, even bringing Tiffany into it as being very sweet. She and Ivanka got along great and she adores Melania.

But man does she despise Jared. Hoo Boy Howdy. She implies that he doesn’t deserve the credit for the Abraham Accords but the problem I have with that is that she never names who should get credit for it. It’s a fascinating book, but the problem I have with it is that it leaves a lot hanging. ESPECIALLY her take on the 2020 election. She doesn’t deny it was stolen, but she skates…it’s never been proven in a court of law type of thing. On first read, my takeaway is that she doesn’t want to cut off her potential client list.

Maybe that’s just me. I’ll have to read it again, I just read over 500 pages straight thru so first impressions aren’t to be trusted. I need to go over it again.

The U.S. economy shrank at an annual rate of 1.5% in the first quarter of 2022—the first decline since the second quarter of 2020, the Bureau of Economic Analysis estimated Wednesday in a worse-than-expected update to last month’s figure, which showed a decline of 1.4%.

The update primarily reflected softer-than-expected spending on business inventories and residential investments, which was only partially offset by an uptick in consumer spending, the government said.

In the first quarter, a record wave of Covid-19 cases spurred by the omicron variant resulted in continued restrictions and business disruptions, while government assistance programs including forgivable loans to businesses and social benefits to households expired or tapered off—further preventing growth, according to the release.

Broad declines in exports, government spending and business inventories, along with increased imports, spurred the overall decline, the government said.

Judge Strikes Email, Testimony Suggesting Trump-Russia Claims May Have Been Fabricated

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, the Obama appointee overseeing Sussmann’s case, on May 24 ordered Heide’s quote struck from the record. His justification was that the answer was “at odds” with his earlier ruling that prosecutors could not delve into whether the data was concocted or “spoofed” because Sussmann was said to not be involved in the research itself.

On Wednesday, Cooper said the email itself can no longer be an exhibit.

Cooper had allowed the document to be admitted because he said it was not hearsay since it had a statement and a question.

To me a mature gun ownership culture is a healthy benefit. Especially in a corrupt dem system.

I recognize the cause here as mental illness. Mental illness that seeks out gun violence as its outcome.

I’d like these kids that are growing up warped to go through some actual life hardships with other people before they get a gun. This kids parents and grandparents seemed pretty clueless about guns.

I believe this kid did this because he saw infamy in the other elementary school shootings.

… and once again, the solution to the problem of a mass shooting in a gun-free zone is to take away all the guns from law abiding citizens and try to transform the country into a gun-free zone. A rational solution to this would be to eliminate the failed gun-free zone policy and allow teachers and staff to be armed and to allow normal citizens to carry. The shooters know they are walking into an unarmed victim/free fire zone when they attack these soft targets. If they don’t know who is armed, they are not going to be as motivated to commit these acts.

… and the politicians accuse Republicans of politicizing events when people like Beta O’Roarke demonstrate that it is really the communists who are politicizing everything that happens. … and every news channel is making this event all the news, all day, every day for the next who knows how many days.

P.S the Coliseum in Rome today has a huge chunk missing. It did not fall down. After the end of the Roman Empire the heathens stole big chunks of it to build other shit.

Closest backup is a border patrol office in the town. The first two officers focused on the shooter instead of the kids.

Then big city ROE took hold. Those are meant to protect officers and politicians from being hurt via PR. The border patrol guy that shot him must of been SOF at one time. Apparently walked in took a bullet in the leg and scalp and killed the loser.

Funny isn’t it? Schumer supported the Gun Free school zones act when Clinton proposed it as the solution to make sure no more school shootings would occur. That worked out quite well, don’t you think? Now that we’ve had more mass shootings in schools since the Gun Free Zone act was enacted than happened before, the solution it another massive government power grab and taking away of citizens’ rights. Like always, Government sees a problem, implements a solution that gives it more power and makes the problem worse, then proposes a solution that involves giving the government more power that will result in worse problems.

Nope. They are going to use this as their opportunity to ban a class of sporting arms, restrict sales of a material (body armor), outlaw standard capacity magazines, and further restrict the transfer and sale of firearms. All just “common sense gun laws” to “stop gun violence” of course.

yep. i made an incorrect assumption about what are only fire doors. i assumed that they could be remotely locked as they are almost exactly the same model that we use in the locked down psych units in some of our ERs. the frames have the metal strips where the magnets would go. neighbor is a teacher at the HS and he set me straight while walking dogs last night. they dont lock but can be remotely closed. yeah, i notice stupid shit like door frames.

to get into either school you have to do this: hit the buzzer to get identified and buzzed into the antechamber. then you have to hand over your license through the security glass to the secretary who then scans it and issues an ID. then whomever you are visiting has to come and get you before you get buzzed through the next set of security doors. there are also armed police on duty at all times.

The Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire has burned more than 312,000 acres as of Friday morning and is 47% contained. More than 3,000 personnel are battling the blaze that has destroyed 761 structures, including hundreds of homes.

This ROE comes out of the big Dem cities. Where police are the bad guys and major police actions need to be debated with politicians before implementation. Big money writes these up as best practices and influences all training across the country. Later these same orgs would go on to “defund the police”

Not really news. We’ve known that they started it since a day or two after it began. There’s a nationwide ban on prescribed burns now as a result.

I made it to the other side of the canyon.
Still 40 miles away, though. This was the closest campground I could find.

Never been to the North Rim before. I went to the South Rim about 45 years ago, before most of the current infrastructure was built. Way too built up for my taste.

The North Rim is much quieter, mainly because it’s so hard to get here from the Interstate.

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is an Asian nation located in the continent’s southeastern edge. According to data from the World Bank, in 2017, Sri Lanka’s gross domestic product was roughly $87.2 billion. Based on the strength of Sri Lanka’s economy, the World Bank categorizes it as a middle-income nation. The economy of Sri Lanka was dramatically affected by a civil war that lasted nearly 30 years. Sri Lanka’s economy is heavily dependent on the natural resources some of which include fish, minerals, arable land, and wildlife.

We learned yesterday that while participating in the “Romancing Sci-Fi & Fantasy” panel, Mercedes Lackey used a racial slur. First, we apologize to our attendees and the other panelists who were subjected to that slur. We’ve disabled access to the panel to avoid any additional harm being caused.

Second, we are immediately removing Mercedes Lackey from the conference and the additional panels she was scheduled for, in accordance with SFWA’s Moderation Policy. The use of a racial slur violates the instruction to “Respect all cultures and communities. Do not make derogatory or offensive statements even as a joke.” That applies to everyone in a SFWA space, at all levels of their career.

Authorities investigating if retired federal agent knew of Buffalo mass shooting plans in advance

Law enforcement officers are investigating whether a retired federal agent had about 30 minutes advance notice of a white supremacist’s plans to murder Black people at a Buffalo supermarket, two law enforcement officials told The Buffalo News.

Authorities believe the former agent – believed to be from Texas – was one of at least six individuals who regularly communicated with accused gunman Payton Gendron in an online chat room where racist hatred was discussed, the two officials said.

The two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation stated these individuals were invited by Gendron to read about his mass shooting plans and the target location about 30 minutes before Gendron killed 10 people at Tops Markets on Jefferson Avenue on May 14.

The News could not determine if the retired agent accepted the invitation.

    .
    .
The 710 Freeway is the main artery for the nation’s largest port complex, through which nearly a third of the nation’s imported goods move. Big rigs carrying a crush of goods — as varied as electronics, auto parts and shoes — often clog the road. Activists call it the diesel death zone, but Americans with their appetite for click-shopping, have come to rely on the web of warehouses and deliveries that the port is built around.

So, is it time to start expanding ports and roads in Texas and Florida where more sane people live and make policy?

Seriously, that comment is so stupid, I’m surprised that this poster hasn’t yet died of embarrassment (OK, the enablers on her page aren’t helping because they are equally stupid.)

19 police officers and 150 other officers, all of whom most likely had access to AR-15’s as well. Puhleez

Did the kids die because they were mostly Hispanic and the cops didn’t care? I mean – Texas – if you’re not white you’re illegal

The police chief and most of the cops in Uvalde are Hispanic. It was a white Border Patrol agent who shot the killer.

And this is the take they come up with.

The kids died because Bill Clinton got the “Gun Free School Zones” bill passed. End of story.

I can’t believe the difference between the North Rim and the South Rim. The North Rim is probably what most people imagine when you say “National Park.” A handful of rustic buildings in one small area, and the rest is wilderness.

The South Rim reminds me of something Disney would make

Made it there when I was 11. I guess it was the South Rim. What I remember is the people going down on donkeys. I was outraged as only a young girl can be. Total animal abuse!!!

It’s a miracle my parents didn’t leave me there.

No One Is Talking About This

I have been looking for some good data on food. Frankly, I have seen my grocery bill go up quite a bit and I am trying to figure out if I should stockpile foodstuffs or not.

It is a La Nina year. That brings a lot of dryness to places like South America. Unscientifically, everyone I know in Las Vegas says it has been a lot windier here than normal. Expect more hurricanes this year in the southeast. Hint: It’s not global warming.

    .
    .
I used to trade Lean Hogs, so I watched the food supply stuff relatively closely. I have heard that if you want a slot at the slaughterhouse this year, you are out of luck if you don’t have one. It’s hearsay for me as I don’t have good data on anything but my guess is that livestock farmers are going to really cull their herds this year. It’s just too expensive to feed them.

Short term, that might drive meat prices down. Long term, they will skyrocket. If you look at futures prices for lean hogs, that’s what they are telling you. Here is the near-term July contract. You can see it is off its highs, but the price isn’t low. That volume spike shows a change in direction, so it looks like to me prices might be headed back down for the short term. But, if you look at next year, prices are up.

He’s seeing this and wondering if he should stockpile?

Sweetheart, EVERYBODY is talking about this

    @ eaglesoars:
That would have been before most of the current stuff was built. I went there in that era, too.

The historic buildings are still there, but they’re several miles from the visitor center. They built a whole new complex over to the east.

    What a coinky-dink.

Lots of possible reasons I guess. I can’t

*Conspiracy by a teacher on the inside to allow access..

*False Flag attack to generate a Second Amendment policy crisis

*Set up of a politically and mentally unstable individual, to generate anti-NRA narratives

    *Destabilize the current Texas polity

…. to name but a few!

    🙂

or smoke break? We used to do that, even tho smoking on the property was banned but nobody said anything because if we wanted to we’d totally fuck up their phone bills. However, Texas this time of year is hot enough so there is an air conditioning issue to consider.

    Concerns Over Egg Shortages Grow

    https://zububrothers.com/2022/05/28/concerns-over-egg-shortages-grow/

Concerns over potential shortages of eggs nationwide are growing due to inflation and supply chain issues made worse by avian flu.

When I did my research shopping today at Earth Fare I checked the price of eggs (it was a totally organic store). Over $6 for a dozen.

On the way home I stopped at my usual grocery to get ‘my’ stuff and checked prices. The house brand organic eggs were about $3.68. But the outside price for organic eggs was over $7.

I bought the non-organic house brand for about $2.58.

    Well…maybe this is it.

One time we converted the test platform to the production platform. Next thing we knew we were billing people named Chaucer and Shakespeare and places like Stratford von Avon.

    OOPS!!

Test data got mixed up with ‘real’ data.
