    Gov Inslee begs to differ

Governor Jay Inslee (D-Washington) sent an eerie letter to his supporters on Monday predicting that they are in for a summer of “blackouts, destruction, and death” over the alleged climate crisis.

And he’s going to make damn sure of it

The letter was sent directly after Gov. Inslee gave tacit support for destroying four dams along the Snake River which account for 8 percent of Washington’s annual electricity generation, Environmental Director of Washington Policy Center Todd Meyers reports.

Oh, it is a very complicated web the “West” have woven against Russia.

The reason that the natural gas supply to Germany has been cut off is actually due to Canada sanctions against Russia.

    Yep Canada.

A German company, Siemens Energy supplied the turbine compressors to Russia that pump Russian gas to Germany. They were manufactured in Canada, and some of them are currently in Canada to be refurbished.

But due to sanctions they cannot be shipped back from the Siemens Energy facility in Canada back to Russia.

    So no gas pumping…..

Really Laughing My Ass Off at this stupidity.

    P.S. Fuck the Germans.

On Friday morning, China launched its third aircraft carrier, named Fujian (18), carrying hull number 18, at Jiangnan Shipyard of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation in Shanghai, reported the People’s Liberation Army’s official media channel, China Military Online.

The 80,000-ton carrier is China’s first flat deck carrier and uses Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS)-powered catapults to launch its aircraft, in contrast to the ski jump of its other two carriers. The EMALS system can launch heavier aircraft, such as the J-35 fighter and airborne early warning aircraft, to operate off its flight deck.

Fujian is named after the closest Chinese province to Taiwan.

    @ Bunk Five Hawks X:
In NZ we are about to ‘suffer’ another long weekend. This time from a totally made up excuse. Makariki the Maori New Year, where the Plaides star group peep above the horizon just before dawn. There is NO serious history behind it other than using the ID of 7 stars by very keen eyed youngsters who would then be used as lookouts for raiding parties of other cannibalistic Maori tribal groups looking for slaves and land.

The Marxists within the Maori 15% are getting all religious about it now and doing the burnt offerings to the ‘spirits’ on the beach thingie and trying to incorporate this new holiday into a whole pantheism of a Maori mishmash of Marxism, ancestor worship, paganism and ‘make whitey pay’ for all imaginary and real past offences. This is straight out of the American neo-Marxist playbook.

Little historical whoopsies like, it was the early Maori will destroyed the former peoples of NZ in a genocidal clearing of the slate. It was Maori who were cannibalistic slavers who preyed on lesser tribal groups and even isolated European settlers before the Treaty of Waitangi, the British government destroying slavery and the Land Wars finally finished off Maori tribal warfare. Then suddenly we have both European and Maori lawyers re-litigating the historical past and awarding a tiny elite (mostly Maori lawyers and leaders) massive handfuls of taxation cash and great power.

Now these same lawyers and media types are foisting a made up ‘celebreation’ on the public of NZ. It was supposed to happen next Friday but already we are seeing it stretch into a media campaign that lasts a week of various types of made up BS commemoration, pagan festivals and pseudo-sciencism about various star ‘gods’ etc. etc. This BS is being pushed hard by the Marxist rump of the NZ Teachers’ Federation and their communist mates.

It seems for the last few days the focus has been on ” family training ” at the rehab facility. Teaching her family how to care for her.

Today was focused on getting a stroke patient in and out of a car.

I asked ” did they show you using a dummy? ”

Nope was the answer. we did it for real.

Well, I made it to Winter Park. The last two legs of the drive were rough. First I had to drive 37 miles on I-70 starting in Silverthorne and going through the Eisenhower Tunnel. Not sure what was worse: Dragging a trailer over an 11,200 foot pass, or doing it on pavement that looks like it should be in Afghanistan. Trucks drive on it all winter long with chains. Pretty sure they have to repave it every year.

Then I got to experience US40. Holy crap. I think a mountain goat laid it out. That’s one you have to see to believe. It doesn’t look bad on Google maps–unless you zoom in.

Oh well. At least I made it in one piece, and found a campsite. All the campgrounds around here are first come first serve.

No Dobbs opinion today but BIG 2A win, opinion by Clarence Thomas

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/06/23/scotus-gun-case-n2609212?utm_source=breakingemail

    >Thomas’s opinion explains, in part, that “confining the right to ‘bear’ arms to the home would make little sense given that self-defense is ‘the central component of the [Second Amendment] right itself.'”

In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U. S. 570 (2008), and McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U. S. 742 (2010), we recognized that the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect the right of an ordinary, law-abiding citizen to possess a handgun in the home for self-defense. In this case, petitioners and respondents agree that ordinary, law-abiding citizens have a similar right to carry handguns publicly for their self-defense. We too agree, and now hold, consistent with Heller and McDonald, that the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect an individual’s right to carry a handgun for self-defense outside the home.

The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self defense is not “a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.” We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant’s right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for selfdefense. New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms. We therefore reverse the judgment of the Court of Appeals and remand the case for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.

This was a case out of NY

Visited north California for a week. definitely a gas price hit. And lots more people still wearing masks in pubic. And my iphone started prompting me to sign up for covid exposure notices via my iphone. Almond farms looked pretty green.

I was invited to a grocery sales BBQ. Few hundred people. ages mostly 35-55 I think. I shouldn’t have been surprised but I was a little shocked when the attendees started openly pulling out bags of coke and sharing it around. I’d guess over half the participants were high. It gets annoying when the group loses reality like that. I made sure I had my whiskey on the rocks and politely said no. None seemed offended. I can see there was peer pressure.

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — DTE Energy sent out an email Tuesday notifying many of its customers they were part of an energy saving program called CoolCurrent. The email explained to customers that their air conditioning could be cycled on and off during periods of peak energy demand.

Many customers like Sergio Montanez said they were unaware they were part of the program.

Montanez bought his Lincoln Park home last August. He said he didn’t find out until Tuesday, one of the hottest days of the year, that his air conditioning could be controlled by DTE.

um, wow. Win the case and drop your clients or leave?

Two attorneys who successfully argued to the Supreme Court against a New York gun law announced they are leaving their law firm.

The decision by former Solicitor General Paul Clement and Erin Murphy came after the Chicago-based law firm of Kirkland & Ellis said it would no longer handle gun-related litigation, Politico reported.

“We were given a stark choice: either withdraw from ongoing representations or withdraw from the firm,” Clement said in a statement. “Anyone who knows us and our views regarding professional responsibility and client loyalty knows there was only one course open to us: We could not abandon ongoing representations just because a client’s position is unpopular in some circles.”

According to CNN, Murphy added: “In light of Kirkland & Ellis’ announcement that the firm will no longer handle cases implicating the Second Amendment, including ongoing representations of individual plaintiffs we have maintained for years, we have decided to leave the firm and establish our own firm where we will continue to serve the full range of our diverse clients.”

Politico said the law firm confirmed its decision through a spokesman but did not detail any reasons.

The stock market is poised for a strong 2nd half of 2022 as the US economy avoids a recession and inflation gets cut in half, JPMorgan says

    https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/stock-market-outlook-economy-avoid-recession-inflation-cut-in-half-2022-6

The bank’s confidence stems from its view that the annualized inflation rate will get cut in half in the second half of the year, to 4.2% from 9.4%, which would “allow central banks to pivot and avoid producing an economic downturn,” JPMorgan’s Marko Kolanovic said.

Such a sharp decline could be driven only by a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine, which JPMorgan expects in the second half of the year as the economic costs of the war become fully realized for many countries, including Russia.

One of his main observations was that the dissent basically never cited the Constitution once. It’s entirely a policy argument, which isn’t the court’s role to decide. Thomas said the same thing in the opinion, which was basically “If you think the Constitution should protect the right to an abortion, pass an amendment that says that. Until then, it’s silent on the issue.”

All of the complaints I’ve heard about the NY gun case are similar. Nobody is trying to argue that they were wrong Constitutionally. It’s all been about policy. Even the dissent talks about the number of people killed using guns. Nothing about the Constitution.

Cases of rape, incest or if the life/health of the mother or child was at risk.

Yes, a child born from rape is still innocent, but the mother’s a victim and shouldn’t have to deal with more as a result of that crime.

Birth control? Make it available OTC.

This bill was not filed in the ordinary course with the clerk, was not given a senate bill number, and was not referred to the appropriate committee for consideration, a hearing, and a “markup” of the bill before it went to the floor for further action.

On Tuesday, 21 June 2022, the senate website of John Cornyn announced the bipartisan legislation and provided a “discussion draft” of a proposed bill. That Tuesday night, the Senate met and news reports said a vote had been taken, but a bill was nowhere on the Congress website.

The senate clerk’s description of what happened Tuesday night only had bill number S.2938, and the numbers of a few amendments. None of the amendments had a description by its number that mentioned a gun bill. S.2938 was described only as “S.2938 – …

That webpage above did not have the text of the gun bill. It only had the text of the bill to name the courthouse and building in Florida.
The real text of the gun bill — not the misleading “discussion draft” — was available Tuesday night.

There, in the fine print beginning on the second column of page S3034 and going to page S3042, was the actual proposed legislation. It starts at the top of the second column under “Text of Amendments” and “SA 5099”, which is the number of the amendment to the old bill, S.2938.

I shot a 72 this morning. Par is 70. I teed off at 0540, the club was empty…

I did not play particularly well or out of the ordinary…but…

EVERY miss hit shot (5 of them) ALL worked out nicely and I was making puts from 30 plus ft. Everything worked out in my favor. I ended up laughing at this ridiculousness by hole 14.

some days the golf gods smile, but most of the time they are vengeful, old testament gods who require sacrifice and pain.

Went for a lovely ride in the desert this morning. Couldn’t have been more than 90 degrees. 50 miles out, 50 miles back. 70 odd miles per hour, oh, at least 35 percent of the time. Sorry, didn’t take any pictures. But it was a very nice ride. We went early enough that the wind while riding was still cooler than the standing temperature. What in life is better than spending a Saturday morning doing something you love?

I only went to a golf course once. An ex wife took me to try to get me interested.

We went to the practice tee thingy which was on the other side of the real golf course. Kind of like a rural driving range thing.

Hit my ball a few times with one of those sticks with a big knobbly end and the ball went a few feet.

Then I got really lucky and smacked the fucker! It flew into a big tree and grassy place.

The fun part was when I went to go find it. It was like mushroom hunting, a thing from my childhood.

Anyway, started the day with one golf ball. Came home with fourteen.

For the first couple of years mowing the long rough grass ( you have to mow it every month or so just to stop it getting long, dry and a fire risk ) I knew when I ran over a golf ball.

    Yelled FORE!!!!

Also, when you are mowing a lawn with a big mower you have a thingy on the outlet side that skwirts the grass clippings into a nice neat line you can rake up.

Mowing a not lawn you don’t give a fuck where the clippings go so you take the skwirty thing off and the shit flies out the side and lands wherever it wants. Including golf balls.

I think Trump has lost a cognitive step but Biden has lost a few dozen. Overall Trump is still sharper than De Santis. Though De Santis probably has a better grasp of issues. Trump can make his outcome happen. Trump will choose image over substance when he thinks the image will get him place.

Trump is the only person in history to have born the amount of negative press. And he is still ticking. I think he will rule with an iron fist in a second term. Some people will go to jail.

The PR effort against Trump is because he was shutting down the gravy chain.

the 85 at killarney comes with my favorite golf story,

on day 2, we were playing a scramble. it was during my honeymoon with the first wife, her dad was a very wealthy irishman and a member there. my dad, mom, grandma and grandad were there. i was on the tee with my grandad and mom in law. they both hit great drives, so no pressure.

no pressure, swing away! balata titleist 100 compression with a persimmon headed driver and i hit as hard as i could. 385yards. that was insane in 88.

my grandad, who taught me the game was almost in tears. it was the greatest moment in golf for me. if you golf, you get it. if you don’t…well, it was great stuff.

for one moment in time, all was perfect.

and that is why golf is the greatest test in sport.

    I can’t play golf!

Used to caddy a LOT when I was growing up and that crueled the game of golf for me forever! 🙂

A while ago I was playing at a great public course practicing my terrible slice, which I offset a wee but by hitting it layer off by 30 degrees. I hit that ball so sweetly . It sailed high and straight directly over a very high fence and onto a 6 lane freeway, bounced off the windshield of a car doing 60 MPH. Meanwhile I was hiding behind a convenient tree. 🙂

Had to go back to the club house on the 9th as I was all out of balls that went all over the place!

    🙂

I decided to give it one last shot, and the ball bounced off a trashcan at the next hole where the same regulars were teeing up. I haven’t played since.

The EPA is considering a new label for parts of the Permian Basin that could deter or slow oil and gas drilling in certain parts of the prolific Permian Basin.

According to a regulatory notice, the EPA could label parts of the Permian Basin as violating federal air quality standards for ozone. If the EPA does indeed label parts as violating the standards, state regulators would need to find a way to clean up the air quality—and they would have three years to come up with a plan to do that. Their plans could include keeping new industrial facilities from making the air quality even worse and making sure current sites have the proper technology to keep the air quality at acceptable levels.

The EPA is facing a potential lawsuit from WildEarth Guardians over the matter, who brought the air quality issue to the EPA’s attention last March.

I miss this guy more than anybody else, including Breitbart.

    Christopher Hitchens

    A Left-Wing Atheist’s Case Against Abortion

But aren’t all these notions of the sanctity of human life and so on alien to your otherwise Marxist view of the world?

Hitchens: On the contrary. As a materialist I hold that we don’t have bodies, we are bodies. And as an atheist I believe that we do not have the consolation of the afterlife. We have only one life to live, so it had better be good. All the nonsense we hear about mediate and immediate animation, the point where a soul enters the unborn and so on, is at best beside the point. It has in common with the sectarian feminist view a complete contempt for science and the theory of evolution—which establishes beyond reasonable doubt that life is a continuum that begins at conception because it can’t begin anywhere else.

That’s the great thing about festivals like this. You get to see artists you’d probably never find otherwise.

Another thing I like about the blues festivals in particular is the amount of effort they put into educating and mentoring young musicians (and fans). This one had a youth stage where kids got to play in between the main stage sets. Some of them move up to the main stage, like Emma Marie. Her band opened the festival and also played at last night’s benefit. Last year they were on the youth stage.

Ally Venable got started at a similar program at the Dallas Guitar Festival when she was 14.

    madness. Also sick.

Northern Ireland will need to lose more than 1 million sheep and cattle to meet its new legally binding climate emissions targets, according to an industry-commissioned analysis seen by the Guardian.

The large-scale reduction in farm animals comes after the passing of the jurisdiction’s first ever climate act, requiring the farming sector to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and reduce methane emissions by almost 50% over the same period.
About a third of human-caused methane emissions come from livestock, mostly from the burps and manure of beef and dairy cattle. Analysis by KPMG, commissioned by industry representatives including the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU), estimates more than 500,000 cattle and about 700,000 sheep would need to be lost in order for Northern Ireland to meet the new climate targets.
Separate analysis by the UK government’s climate advisers suggests chicken numbers would also need to be cut by 5 million by 2035. Both the pig and poultry sectors in Nothern Ireland have seen rapid growth in the past decade.

The new Republican will require a new fusion-ism.

The 80’s Reaganism was fiscal conservatives, small government, social conservatives, and foreign policy interventionism.

    This is dead.

There must be a new fusionism…

That fusionsim will look like a multi ethnic, pro-family coalition. It will move the family back to the center of policy.

The means libertarian economics loosens it’s grip on conservative policy making. Pro family displaces small government at the center of policy making.

Sri Lanka Suspends Fuel Sales Amid Economic Collapse; Asks Russians For Help

A broke and extremely cash-strapped Sri Lanka halted all fuel sales except for essential services in a desperate attempt to manage a severe fuel shortage — allowing the government to buy some time and send two government officials to Russia to negotiate a fuel deal.

“From midnight today, no fuel will be sold except for essential services like the health sector, because we want to conserve the little reserves we have,” government spokesman Bandula Gunawardana said in a pre-recorded statement, obtained by AFP News.

The Sri Lankan government announced only essential services would operate and be allowed access to fuel until July 10 because of a fuel shortage

J6 Committee seems to be fabricating a lot of stuff

Rep. Louie Gohmert Monday called on the January 6 Select Committee to release the full deposition of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson in which she claimed that Mr. Gohmert, and other GOP lawmakers, sought presidential pardons in late 2020.

The Texas Republican flatly denies seeking a pardon for himself. But Mr. Gohmert said he made several pardon requests for U.S. service members whom he says were wrongfully convicted of crimes while deployed in war zones.

Mr. Gohmert said that either the committee deceptively edited clips of the deposition to make it appear as if Ms. Hutchinson told the panel he requested a personal pardon rather than pardons for others, or that Ms. Hutchinson was mistaken.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Their presence alone is a serious national security issue.’ Dozens of sailors confirm their warships were swarmed by ‘at least 100’ otherworldly UFOs, as their accounts CONTRADICT Navy chief’s effort to dismiss them as drones

Naval crew have told documentary maker Jeremy Corbell that US warships were swarmed in 2019 by ‘at least 100’ UFOs with unexplainable capabilities
Last year Corbell published videos from the warship incidents that set social media ablaze

The videos were verified by the Pentagon and showed flashing objects hovering above US Navy ships in the Pacific Ocean

In an historic hearing on UFOs last month, Navy chiefs tried to explain away the incident, saying they were ‘reasonably confident’ the objects were drones
Corbell is now hitting back, claiming that he has ‘dozens’ of accounts from crew, investigators and briefed officials who say that the UFOs were otherworldly

The nature and origin of the craft are still unknown, and witnesses say that they flew in ways that would put publicly known drone technology to shame
A crewman with direct knowledge of the case, who spoke to DailyMail.com on condition of anonymity, called the incident ‘world-changing’

Tell me how this isn’t treason.

Fifty people on the terror watch list have been apprehended at the Southern border so far this year, and there is no telling how many got across without being caught. And now Old Joe Biden’s handlers have opened up a new way for terrorists to get into the United States: Iran International English reported late Friday that “the Biden admin has decided to lift a controversial ban on the entry into US of Iranian men who’d been conscripted into IRGC, a Foreign Terrorist Organization, as part of their compulsory military service, as they don’t ‘pose a national security or public safety risk.’” The IRGC is Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which the Trump administration designated a terrorist organization in 2019. In their avidity to roll back every last thing that Trump did, Biden’s handlers are once again actively endangering Americans.

This decision to allow certain IRGC members into the country is a compromise move designed to get the Iran nuclear deal negotiations moving again.

Ah, but what every is assuming is reduction of the USE of Nitrogen which would lead to reduced crop yields.

    They have it wrong.

The goal is to REDUCE Nitrogen EMMISIONS from, mostly hog rearing facilities by 30% in 2030

Ammonia, NH3 is produced by hog farms as urine breaks down. Major atmospheric pollutant in the hog rearing Flanders area.

So this story is not about reducing Nitrogen on crops it is about getting the hog industry to clean up its act.

I got that it’s to reduce emissions, didn’t know about the hogs (the summary only mentioned cattle specifically)

Ammonia emissions from hog waste is a problem, farmers here sometimes get killed by it because something goes wrong w/the ventilation. But how large are the hog facilities in Flanders? Here, they have to be in rural areas. I understand density could be a problem.

But you can’t shut down an entire industry and 30% is a shutdown

We believe the loss of influent ammonia-nitrogen to the atmosphere is not a likely fate.
By design, wastewater plants facilitate aerobic microbiological processes. Under aerobic
conditions, ammonia-nitrogen is under heavy biological demand. The most likely fate of
influent ammonia-nitrogen is uptake and consumption by microorganisms. Microbial
uptake probably accounts for the vast majority of the observed differences between
    influent and effluent ammonia-nitrogen concentrations.
    · We believe that air stripping, which occurs in aeration basins and/or trickling filters, is
not necessarily the predominant source of ammonia emissions at wastewater treatm

    VPOTUS – Jim Jordan
Speaker of the House – DJ Trump
