The Dems Are Scared, Open

by coldwarrior ( 258 Comments › )
Filed under Elections 2022, Open thread at June 29th, 2022 - 6:35 am

The Dems in PA are scared. I had supporters of Dem candidate for governor, Shapiro, knock on my door twice in two weeks. This is odd because the only other time in 25 years that I had someone stumping for a candidate knock was very early in Trump’s primary run. Hell, the mayoral candidates don’t even bother to knock on doors here. I live in a quiet, normal, and small town that doesn’t really matter much in the big political picture. It’s so boring and quiet that we don’t even have a traffic light.

I listen intently to the first supporter as he told me the horrors of GOP candidate Mastriano. My GOD!!! He wants to make sure the PA elections are secure and true!!! He denies the Biden won!!! He’s ULTRA MAGA!!!  Hmmmmm…sez I…I’ll take that under advisement (with a fake concerned look on my face). I didn’t want to poison the well just yet. This guy had no tattoos or piercings, but looked soy boy.

Yesterday, I had another supporter knock on my door. This one looked like a respectable guy, a school teacher he said. His only topic was that Shapiro wants to increase psychological help in schools. I was in a charitable mood so I didn’t hit him with the grooming and perversion directed toward kids in the media and the schools and how that is driving these problems. I also didn’t want to poison the well at this point either because I am quite enjoying this and want to see what knocks next as clearly, my address is marked by the Dems as ‘in play’.

the GOP (unlike the dems) have a great bench that can govern for a long time.

Trump, if he chooses to run in 2024 will be unstoppable. the debates will be brutal even after biden is removed from running.

i can see trump-desantis-desantis-then one of the other GOP maga stars et cetera as prez for many years. the dems have no one. desantis for prez is fine by me too. the peeps in FL will be pissed though!

put cruz on the supreme court. those conformation hearings would be a riot.

Trump won’t go for speaker. the would be a ‘demotion’.

I was wondering where the Fed report on crypto is. I think it was due in May. Then I figured they’re waiting till after the mid-terms.

    Now this

SCOOP on @TheTerminal now. IRS and Treasury are likely to delay new reporting rules for crypto brokers, according to people familiar who asked not to be named because a final decision hasn’t been made. Move would push back efforts to collect billions in taxes from traders.

My political acumen is probably weak. I hear Scott Adams touting her as a persuader to follow. All I see in her is a much less intelligent Joy Reid.

Calo has been home for six days. Needs 24/7 care.

Daughter has a leave of absence. Fortunately she is a RN so could even quit and easily get another job in the future. The advantage of a college degree that is actually useful in the real world.

Attorney General Kamala D. Harris announced the launch of OpenJustice, a criminal justice open data initiative, during a press event in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

OpenJustice will make large amounts of criminal justice data available to the public with an overall goal of improving safety, strengthening trust, enhancing government accountability, and informing public policy. It will consist of two components: a Dashboard that spotlights key criminal justice indicators with user-friendly visualization tools and an open data portal that publishes raw data from the California Department of Justice’s statewide repository of criminal justice data sets.

    https://statescoop.com/california-launches-online-dashboard-for-pedestrian-and-traffic-stops/

Attorney General Xavier Becerra’s office launched the new dashboard on Thursday alongside its third annual report of all traffic and pedestrian stops conducted by the state’s eight largest law enforcement agencies, as mandated by the Racial and Identity Profiling Act of 2015, or RIPA. It’s the second dashboard to be launched under the state’s Open Justice initiative, joining another site that publicizes and visualizes criminal justice data.

I suspect they are using Socrata

I see Code for America is doing work for them. These were basically interns for George Soros and his Sunshine data efforts. All woke people. Or it was how college students were integrate into Sunshine data laws advocated by the lefties. Transparent data is good but not in the hands of the lefties. They can’t help wanting to over collect info and then release it into the wild. No sense of privacy. Woke governments would want to release this gun info as a method of mass education by threat.

It’s a GIS database behind it. Socrata is the main government one. Tableau is a close second. ARC GIS is the old raw one. All are kludgy. Tableau gave the best data visualizations. I think it was Tableau thought that wanted our internal Tableau to have an open one way firewall hole to the public. Because they couldn’t make their licensing and coding fit into a secure firewall structure. It sent a lot of warning bells off to me. But the politicians overruled all that because they wanted the output.

There is an admin dashboard in all these products that lets you review all published and non published datasets. If you get access to that you can export all the data to your pc. Usually we would block that by having three copies of the database. Original raw data, staging of a selection of the raw data, and the public extract. All had to be reviewed and approved by management. As admin I could skip all that if i wanted to. But that is a firing.

In case you were wondering whether the Biden administration could do anything more to cripple the U.S. fossil fuel industry, the answer is yes.

The Environmental Protection Agency is considering an “ozone violation designation” for portions of the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States, according to Bloomberg News. The Permian Basin is located in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico.

In a letter to President Joe Biden on Monday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warned that this action “could lead to skyrocketing prices at the pump by reducing production, increase the cost of that production, or do both.”

The Permian Basin, he informed the president, accounts for 25 percent of our nation’s gas supply — 95 million gallons per day — and 40 percent of all oil produced domestically.

Abbott emphasized that this decision was entirely discretionary and that Biden had the power to stop it.

Biden admin misses major oil lease deadline: ‘an absolute disgrace’

The Biden administration did not give an explanation after it missed its own deadline to plan future oil and gas lease sales Thursday.

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland vowed during a Senate hearing on May 19 to issue a legally-mandated program outlining proposed offshore lease sales over the next five years by Thursday. On Wednesday, Interior Department (DOI) spokesperson Melissa Schwartz confirmed the agency was “on track” to issue the plan by Thursday, according to E&E News.

Schwartz declined to comment on the delay in response to a Fox News Digital inquiry. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

An announcement was slated to take place Thursday, but was pushed back for an unknown reason, administration officials told Reuters on Friday.

“President Biden is hell-bent on choking off American oil and natural gas production,” Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member John Barrasso, R-Wyo., told Fox News Digital in a statement. “Now he has failed to follow the law and prepare a final five-year leasing plan by yesterday’s deadline. That means the federal government will not offer any new offshore oil and gas lease sales this year.”

I missed this. He did WHAT? Efffing geniuses, the lot of them

Led by U.S. President Joe Biden, the Group of Seven (G-7) economic powers today announced plans to ban the transport of Russian oil sold above a certain price with the goal of hurting Russia enough so that it ends its war against Ukraine. “There is only one way out: for Putin to accept that his plans in Ukraine will not succeed,” said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The G-7’s plan is to impose a price cap on Russian oil through the regulation of petroleum shipping, banking, and insurance.

The proposal is, in a word, ludicrous. Russian President Vladimir Putin would never agree to a price cap. He would likely withhold oil from the market in the same way he has been withholding natural gas from Europe, driving up prices. Putin would then sell oil to countries including China and India at a 30-40% discount, as he has been doing, or larger. Russia produces oil at a price of just $3-$4 per barrel and Russian firms can profit with oil prices at $25-$30 per barrel. And while it’s true that there is a near-monopoly in shipping insurance, Russia has been creating alternatives to it.

Assuming you can afford groceries, how much can you take with you on the bus? How far are you willing to walk? Do you have a bicycle?

Guess what happens if you are discharged from a hospital after a procedure? You can’t drive yourself, you’re not permitted to use Uber or Lyft, and public transportation is verboten.

BREAKING: UPS Cuts Off Gun Parts Retailers for Selling ‘Ghost Guns,’ Threatens to Seize and Destroy In-Transit Packages

United Parcel Service is terminating the accounts of gun dealers across the country. Any packages currently in the UPS system may be “seized and destroyed.”

In a letter sent to one Florida gun dealer, Ghost Firearms, UPS said they were terminating the account because they “may be violating” laws concerning homemade firearm parts.

“We write to inform you that UPS has learned that your company may be violating applicable laws concerning the shipment of “ghost guns” to unauthorized locations,” the letter states. “In light of our concern, UPS has determined that it will cancel your account, effective immediately.

Ghost’s owner, Joe Zatar was told all scheduled pickups will be cancelled, and that he cannot reopen another UPS account or ship anything from a UPS store or website.

He is most concerned about the packages already in the UPS system, which he may have already lost.

“Please note that any package found in the UPS system determined to have been tendered by GHOST FIREARMS may be seized and destroyed,” the letter states.

“I just shipped more than $30,000 worth of products,” he said.

Zatar immediately called his UPS sales rep, who said he had no idea the account was terminated.

Ghost Firearms sells uppers, lowers, handguards and OEM parts for a number of manufacturers. They also sell 80% receivers.

“We do not ship to states where they’re not allowed,” Zatar said. “We are in total compliance. We had ATF in here just two weeks ago, and they told us we were completely legal.”

UPS’ Media Relations personnel did not return calls or emails seeking comment for this story.

    @ Bunk Five Hawks X:

    See below:

New York Fights Back on Guns and Abortion After Supreme Court Rulings

A week after the Supreme Court issued monumental rulings loosening restrictions on carrying guns and overturning the constitutional right to abortion, New York began to enact sweeping measures designed to blunt the decisions’ effects.

In an extraordinary session convened by Gov. Kathy Hochul that began Thursday and carried late into Friday evening, the State Legislature adopted a new law placing significant restrictions on the carrying of handguns and initiated the process of passing a constitutional amendment enshrining the right to abortion in the state of New York.

The new legislation illustrates the growing distance between a conservative-led court that has reasserted its influence in American political life and blue states such as New York — one of the most left-leaning in the nation, where all three branches of government are controlled by Democrats and President Biden easily triumphed over Donald J. Trump in 2020.

As Republican-led states race rightward, the New York Legislature’s moves this week provided a preview of an intensifying clash between the court and Democratic states that will likely play out for years to come.

“We’re not going backwards,” Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, said at a news conference in Albany on Friday. “They may think they can change our lives with the stroke of a pen, but we have pens, too.”

She made remarks on the coming July 4 holiday, asking New Yorkers to remember what was being commemorated: “the founding of a great country that cherished the rights of individuals, freedoms and liberty for all.”

“I am standing here to protect freedom and liberty here in the state of New York,” she added.

The state’s new gun law bars the carrying of handguns in many public settings such as subways and buses, parks, hospitals, stadiums and day cares. Guns will be off-limits on private property unless the property owner indicates that he or she expressly allows them. At the last minute, lawmakers added Times Square to the list of restricted sites.

The law also requires permit applicants to undergo 16 hours of training on the handling of guns and two hours of firing range training, as well as an in-person interview and a written exam. Applicants will also be subject to the scrutiny of local officials, who will retain some discretion in the permitting process.

The price of oil may rise to a “stratospheric” $380 per barrel if US and European sanctions lead Russia to reduce its crude supply in retaliation.

This was disclosed by JPMorgan analysts endorsed by Natasha Kaneva in a note to clients seen by Bloomberg.

    here.

How Did A Zuckerberg Charity Stooge Win A GOP Primary In Colorado?

Pam Anderson won a race with no money and very few visible voters

The story of the GOP primary race for Secretary of State in Colorado gets more interesting the more you investigate the results.

As I noted yesterday, the big news is that an Australian businessman named Mike O’Donnell somehow got 28% of the vote (173,000 citizens voted for him!) even though polling showed he had no support, he raised $4,700 for his campaign, and 139 people were following his campaign on Twitter. The most interaction he got on his 1,300 campaign tweets was 4 “likes” on his June 27th tweet; most of them had zero interaction. He went from being a non-factor in a three-person race to grabbing more than quarter of the total vote.

Mike O’Donnell seems like a very nice guy — but can anyone explain his sudden 28% share of the vote in the most important election integrity race in Colorado? Election officials in Colorado had no explanation. Most of the county clerks in the 17 counties that Mike O’Donnell won had never heard of him. Their reactions ranged from confusion to disbelief.

    But, wait, there’s more.

The really big news is that Pam Anderson supposedly won the race with 43% of the vote (266,000 citizens voted for her!) which is an unbelievable result — to say the very least.

It’s truly unbelievable because two months before the primary, Pam Anderson was not just losing to Tina Peters in all the polling and fundraising metrics, but her campaign was broke. She had a $5,665 balance in her campaign coffers. According to liberal site Colorado Pols, “this surprisingly anemic fundraising is just more evidence that [Pam Anderson] is a candidate without a constituency…”

    https://emeralddb3.substack.com/p/how-did-a-zuckerberg-charity-stooge

More at the link. Now, if you don’t know who Tina Peters in – she’s a county clerk in Mesa County (and a gold star mom, IIRC). She is what the left likes to call a conspiracy theorist and election denier. She’s been indicted on bogus charges of tampering w/election equipment. She’s been on Bannon’s warroom quite a bit.

I’ve had the same thought. Despite the fact that we should see a massive blowout in November, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they tell us the Dems managed to maintain control, and even pick up a few seats.

There’s only so much gaslighting people will take. This election (or 2024) could be all it takes to set things off.

Yeah, the left knows that the fix is in. Their total destruction plan is in place. Bloomberg tax reporters just did an article demanding that the gax tax be increased to $2 a gallon right now while things are at their worst. They are completely trying to go scorched earth because they know nothing can stop them now. They believe that the country doesn’t have the nerve to revolt against them and as long as the elections are rigged they can just go nuts.

I think the same. I think the Dems will double down on fortifying elections and saying so sue me. And the GoP will sniff and blink a bit but say ok next election we get even.

Trump is the only one who can take this on nationally and even Trump is pulling his punches now because of the immense bad press he is getting. The GoP needs to coordinate on inflation, grooming=, bad wars, pro family. But I only see it state by state. I did see a good America First scorecard published by the AZ GoP.

Fraud happens in election. Fraud is 10 percent lost of output in most industries. Reaching 20 percent in a few. And these are industries where the fraud motivation is not high. The criteria to bring a fraud lawsuit in elections is a very high bar.

The GoP should be going into Philadelphia this elections and overseeing every vote. Make it national news. No 3 AM spikes. No shutting down vote counting.

My friend had his pain meds stolen twice over 3 years. The attending physician was afraid to re prescribe. Due to stricter California regs on doctors. He ended up substituting street heroin for his pain med. Eventually killed him.

It became too much of an intrusion to rely on the medical system. Easier to complete the stuff on the street. It created a large network of people who would go to their regular medical appointments and request meds that they would resell on the street.

Studying some military history. We are under attack from within by enemies who discard our laws but expect us to act within our laws accordingly. That is now they out maneuver the uncertain actors. And gain the margin of victory.

The allies have to band together and act out of character and discard their own laws to defeat the enemy within. The enemy needs to be mired in foreign entanglements so that their resources flow away from the battle.

Then use small victories to destabilize the leadership of the enemy. And as momentum builds the enemy will destroy themselves.

Not so sure. The boys in Green played well in the first quarter and matched the ABs. The next couple of quarters with the exception of an Irish try just after half time. The final quarter was pretty even again with the Irish over the line 4 times but with stolid All Blacks defence holding the ball up and preventing the Irish from grounding the ball.

THAT is NOT a ass beating from where I was seated! It looked a LOT closer when you could see the sweat bouncing off heads as the big hits went in. If either you or I got hit like that we’d surely DIE mate!!

Can’t agree with you there Dark although at the gut level I’d really REALLY like to. If you don’t hold the high ground you just end up down in the gutter with the enemy. Imagine how much easier it would have been to use NAZI tactics on the Germans during WWII. The West would have lost the moral battle whilst winning the war of the gutter. Actually ‘Bomber Harris’ tried that by specifically targeting civilians in German cities to destroy their will to resist. It failed even though the tonnage of bombs dropped on Germany was close to 100 times as much as was dropped on the UK. Civilian destruction just pissed off the civilian populous and they felt that they had nothing to lose and fought even harder.

That is why the second ‘Nagasaki bomb’ was justified. The Hiroshima bomb failed to change Hirohito’s mind. The Nagasaki bomb showed him that the Japanese were threatened with annihilation. The surrender saves a million US casualties and tens of millions of Japanese lives. Like Hirohito the decision to fight was down to single individuals. Hitler in Germany and Hirohito in Japan. One chose his personal and National destruction, whilst the other choose to save his nation and (after covert assurances), himself.

Strangely it was Germany who suffered annihilation and total defeat whilst Japan choose the lesser evil of total capitulation, and covertly throwing the Japanese emperor at the feet of MacArthur ( being assured that the Emperor would not be prosecuted) and would be used to stop the spread of Russian communism in a post war Japan.

It was probably the Japanese who deserved total destruction, but got off lightly with the loss of two medium sized cities and a token execution of a few scape goats. The Germans on the other hand ended up divided, destroyed, and suffered a massive loss of life during the saturation bombing of all of their main urban areas…. and again suffered a token execution of a few of the NAZI ringleaders in the ‘post match wash-up’.

Even ‘Bomber’ Harris admitted, that if the Western democracies had lost the war, he’d be hanged as a war criminal, just for what he did to Dresden let alone the rest of the German urban areas.

Maintaining the moral high ground is always costly, but at least if you are victorious you don’t have to live with the infamy of being in the gutter with one’s enemies.

I agree. A war can’t be won without the support of the surrounding population. But a cost also needs to be extracted from them if they support the enemy. The lesson comes from pain. This is what is happening to Trump supporters. And the GoP is just saying OK OK OK dems you have a valid point. What shakes up this dem effort in the current environment. Inflation? Grooming? Family values? What makes independents mad at the Dems. I am sure these questions are being asked from GoP people. But they are being too tepid.

I’d take my Bannon National Populism and the new National Christianity and bind them together with a set of political planks that force religions to choose between degeneracy and worship of family values.

GoP minions are afraid to collectivize democrats as groomers. They are afraid to sort out Bill Clinton. The minions are afraid to double down on the 2A. The minions are very very afraid to label any election as fraudulent for fear of being cast as a violent Trump supporter. The minions are afraid to empower Hispanic families. The minions listen to the far left AOC narratives before they assert their own weak minion planks. The minions fail to point out that woke feminism is in direct conflict with young black culture. The minions fail to adapt to a 15 to twenty weeks abortion mandate which which devastate the issue a the left is presenting it.

It’s a long story of the minion right in power being skillfully used and manipulated by left money and oower.

To get out of that one needs to be unconventional, fast, and on target. One of these big corps should be targeted with a groomer bomb. Make people choose. I’d propose a bill in Congress to give San Francisco to China. Then use all the furor to list out the defects of the turds in San Francisco and how Chinese Marxist they really are.

The war withing requires that schiff, cheney, kinzinger all fall. The easiest way to them to organize against Romney.

This goes way beyond any abilities or influence i have but there are people that do. It’s taking that successful military template and adjusting it to fall down on the creeps in America.
