The IDF says the hijacking of the shipping vessel in the Red Sea by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen is a “very serious incident on the global scale.”

It says the ship was sailing from Turkey to India with an international civilian crew, without any Israelis aboard.

“This is not an Israeli ship,” the IDF adds.

Lots of music people here, so you might be interested.

Deepmind just dropped one of the most powerful AI music generation tool. The impact will be huge.

Their new model, Lyria, can convert simple humming into a full instrument suite.

It can also produce music and vocals from a single text prompt, making it available to all Youtube creators.

The list of features is just massive:
▸ Generate music from any prompt
▸ Transfer the style of any music
▸ Enhance the quality of low-resolution audio
    ▸ Extend existing music tracks
▸ Apply artist-specific styles to your music
▸ Edit and get feedback in real time
    ▸ Apply watermarking technology (SynthID)

This vessel hijacking by the Houthis (which they’ve been threatening) doesn’t just impact Israel. The potential economic impact is far wider.
Increased risk for cargo vessels travelling through the Red Sea equals rising marine cargo insurance, a cost passed on in price of goods.

This is just a Saudi / Sunni vs. Iranian / Shi’a ongoing low level warfare of a hell-hole broken State of Yemen.

Expect a response off the Sunni Gulf States further limiting the free transit of Iranian oil and gas.

What Sunni Qatar will do is anybody’s guess as they are just terrorists enablers in better cut suits.

    🙂

The rest of the Gulf States are just hoping that this religious low intensity warfare between Sunni and Shi’a will just go away as it’s bad for business. The potential for this half a millennium + religious warfare to nuclear is always a worry with Iran actually intending to eventually begin a nuclear exchange for pure religious reasons involving the emergence of the 12th Imman. Saudi with their ‘unofficial’ nuclear deterrent of two operational medium range launch vehicles and two Pakistani sourced warheads, with the triggers held in Pakistan and under the overwatch of the US (unofficially) with two separate aircraft on standby for the transportation of the triggers to Saudi. And the Iranians currently within 6 months of a launch capable system with home grown nukes getting closer by the day, makes for a volatile situation.

The Iranians are spoiled for potential targets. Choices ….. choices. Kill the hated Saudi Sunnis of the Arabian peninsular or kill the Jews! Whether the Iranians have 4 bombs worth fissile fuel or whether they have a store of at least 4 nukes worth of high grade but not yet bomb grade fissile fuel is debatable. What is not debatable is that they have both the tech and material to be all bombed up and ready to rock by next summer. Will they want to test a warhead first is unknown but my guess is that they will and North Korea is the likely site for that test.

We do live in interesting times

    🙂

MUCH better, thank you. I’m going to need some therapeutic massage after it gets to the point where I don’t flinch when I’m hugged, there is still weakness in my shoulder and bicep. But the respiratory thing resolved about a week ago and my stamina is back.

    @ eaglesoars:
The departure of the two standby aircraft with their separate nuke triggers from Pakistan, headed for Saudi will be a serious combat indicator. Whether the US will pressure Pakistan to NOT allow these triggers to be mated with their two nukes and the mounting of the nukes on the two MRBMs in their Saudi silos will be the next steps. The ‘joker ‘ in the pack is the religious fanatics in Iran who are ‘gagging’ to go down in a mushroom cloud that will ‘release’ the hidden 12th Immam is a bit of a worry.

    Aussie-style sushi is racist.

There’s no oppressor quite like a white immigrant woman selling sushi.

At least that’s how Eric Rivera, a North Carolina based chef and perpetual victim, views the world.

After seeing that a blonde Australian woman, Alex Marks, recently opened Sushi Counter — a West Village take-out spot serving “Aussie-style sushi” — he launched an online bullying campaign from his recliner, a whopping 500 miles away.

I have no idea. I do remember a recipe for cheese balls tho’. Not the actual recipe, mind you, but that she had one she shared.

I’ve heard that the way to get punished in the Secret Service was to be assigned to their protection detail when they went back to Georgia. Rosalind was always making them wash the car(s) or something. I remember when they first went to the White House she buried coins in the sofa cushions to find out a) if the staff was thorough and b) if they were, were they honest.

And at first they refused to serve alcohol until the State Dept read them the riot act and told them to get down off their high horses and learn some diplomatic hospitality.

I don’t have very many heroes, but Asra Nomani is one of them. She just body slammed Susan Sarandon.

    https://twitter.com/AsraNomani/status/1726473436262715732

    Hi there
    @SusanSarandon
, this is my mom, my dad and me on the rail trail in Morgantown, West by God Virginia. Let me tell you what it means to be Muslim in America.

First, your backstory: At an anti-Israel protest in NYC, you just said, “There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.”

Let me give you “a taste” of what it “feels like” to be a Muslim in America:

✅ My dad didn’t have to become a second-class indentured servant to one of the many tyrants of Muslim countries that use immigrants from India, like my family, as essential slaves. In 1975, after getting his PhD at Rutgers, he was about to go to Libya — a Muslim country — led by a Muslim, Moammar Qhadafi, to work like a servant with a PhD for a wealthy dictator…but then the phone rang one day and I picked it up…

✅ It was West Virginia University calling, and my dad got a job as an assistant professor of nutrition. He got rejected first for tenure but being Muslim in America meant he got a right like everybody got — his right to appeal and guess what? He won and he became a full professor. That’s what it means to be Muslim in America. You get your full rights, like
    @DrZuhdiJasser
has wished for his family in the Muslim nation of Syria, where a Muslim dictator destroys the lives of Muslims.

✅ My mom? Being Muslim in America meant she got to live FREE with the wind in her hair, like
    @AlinejadMasih
fights for women in the Muslim nation of Iran to be able to enjoy.

✅ And what did living free mean for my mom as a Muslim in America? It meant in 1981 she got to start a business on High Street in downtown Morgantown, called Ain’s International. That is something that
    @miss9afi
wished women could have had the right to do in the Muslim nation of Saudi Arabia. But guess what? That entrepreneurship and financial independence is denied Muslim women in so many Muslim countries.

✅ That summer my mom started her business, I got on a plane at Pittsburgh airport for Tahlequah, Oklahama, and I went away from home at 16 for a National Science Foundation camp — without a male chaperone, a right denied Muslim women and girls in Saudi for so long.

✅ In another “taste” of being Muslim in America? My family got a pathway to citizenship. You think the Muslim dictatorship of Qatar allows a pathway to citizenship for Muslim slaves, servants or Palestinian Muslims? Hell no. The Muslim Al-Thani family just buys citizenship for Muslim soccer stars from countries in Africa to steal World Cup wins. But otherwise it treats non-Qatari Muslims like slaves. America? My family waited, took the test, studied the constitution and we are citizens — hallelujah!

✅ I’m going to fast forward because this is just a “taste” of what it means to be Muslim in America. In 2002, I fled Pakistan with a souvenir that could have gotten me imprisoned or killed: a baby growing inside of me, a wedding ring not upon my hand. Sharia law makes sex out of marriage a crime in Muslim countries like Pakistan. My body? The mullah’s tyranny. And even dare to be atheist like
    @YasMohammedxx
? It’s also a crime punishable by death — in Muslim countries but not in America!

✅ Where do you think I came to give birth to my baby in safety and security, without shame? West by God Virginia in the United States of America — where we enjoy equal rights as Muslim AmeriCANs, not AmeriCANTs.

This is a “taste” of life for a Muslim family in America. Please don’t minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by sanitizing the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life — and freedoms — she offers Muslims like my family. Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country.

You will come back to America and kiss the land beneath your feet.

    @ eaglesoars:
Someone named “Khalid” called her a liar.

Half of your stories are true
The other half are completely untrue
Everything you mentioned about the Arab/muslim world is true
    the part about America…NOT.
I have the proof we are not even a third or fourth class citizens in this country.
I been here for 41 years. So I know.

    A food post.

Saturday I had a strange craving for liver and onions so got some liver delivered yesterday with my weekly grocery order. They only had beef, I prefer calf liver as the slices are smaller dimension wise.

Anyway beef liver it was. A pound of it and as noted above large slices, two of them about ten inches by eight inches. But sliced less than a quarter of an inch thick.

I prefer liver sliced much thicker. That way it can be pan fried almost crispy on the outside and tender and succulent in the middle. Well due the the thinness it took two skillet loads to cook it. In the pan I had lightly cooked half a pack of bacon. Bacon needs to be not crispy.

Then added half a stick of butter to the pan and cooked two medium onions until they went transparent.

Next step put the liver pieces, the bacon chopped into one inch chunks and the onions into a two quart slow cooker. Added a McCormick packet of mushroom gravy mixed with a cup of water and lid on and slow cooker on low.

    Had a few beers.

Then came supper time, supper was mash, cauliflower cheese and liver. YUMMY!!!!!

Not really impressed with the livery thing. Mash was ok. It was packet mash. Can’t really fuck that up, and I burned the cauliflower.

Now I have still got a shit load of liver stuff to eat. I am thinking of getting a dog…..

Well technically the beer does not need eating but I digress.

Anyone following my life knows I bought a small air fryer, it is still in the box and I am hungry.

Dilemma. I cannot with a clear conscience start air frying all the shit I have in the freezer such as egg rolls, banquet pies and some “individual one person pizza ” until I eat the fridge left overs.

OK, I know, air fryer stays in box.

I wish someone would just feed me.

Mash is mashed potatoes. As in bangers and mash.

now you going to ask what are bangers.

Going to save you the trouble. Bangers are sausages and when you fry them they go BANG when the skin on them spits.

Now as to bubble and squeak. Another English favorite you make it correctly and you will understand why it is called that.

    Thinking about this.

If I went to a bar and picked up a really hot chick and invited her back to my place to cook a meal for her I have everything here to cook whatever she desires.

Mexican food, English food, Thai, Indian and Pakistan. Currently have a shortage of Greek food but I got Italian covered, I got pasta and meatballs and the red tomato sauce stuff.

Hey even if the hot chick was really a mermaid I can feed her! I has a can of tuna.

If she stays the night I can make breakfast. I have eggs and bacon and pancake mix and fruit. OK so a can of pineapple chunks is still fruit.

Did I mention I have sour cream and flour tortillas?

    Taco night!!!!!!!!!

Yep I agree. You can ADD things to baked beans after the fact. When I cook a proper English breakfast I fry my bacon and sausage and when cooked I set them aside and then fry my eggs in the grease and when they are done scoop them out on to a plate and turn up the heat and pour baked beans into the skillet. Into the fat. Takes about thirty seconds to heat up the baked beans and they soak up the bacon and sausage grease.

Sometimes I do the same with a can of diced tomatoes instead of the eans.

    Ehhhh!

I’m not convinced one way or the other on Rapturing and such. There is an oblique reference to something akin but it’s wide open to arguing the toss.

Even John’s revelation of the Apocalypse is unclear whether it is personal to each of us, a physical manifestation or an allegorical and spiritual description. There has been 1500 years of argument, such as whether the ‘stars’ falling from the sky means a physical bombardment from Space (it’s obviously not actual stars bombarding the Earth given the physics involved) BUT it may be allagorical reference to the ‘Princes of the Church’ falling to their oblivion for their treachery. There may also be a mixture of allegory and physical manifestations. Who knows? Even the word Apocalypse is grossly misunderstood, The original meaning is Exposing the Truth for all to see and then deciding personally whether each individual stands, with the sheep or the goats! Even the 3 days of darkness prophesied openly is up for interpretation as a physical phenomena or a personal challenge of faith when all looks lost. This mirrored the 3 days post crucifixion when the Christ’s mortal body lay in the tomb, and the Apostles and followers of Christ hid themselves in fear and hopelessness, with just a few exceptions. One of those exceptions was John of course and this experience may have been used as an allegory for the Apocalypse

    Who knows?

There has been a millennium of various prophesy kicking about, that may be believed but it’s certainly not Dogma by any stretch of the imagination and there is no requirement for belief. Lourdes and Fatima have been confirmed by the Church but there is no requirement to believe them as it is not Dogma. Fatima especially as there were 70,000 witnesses present during the final visitation and the ‘miracle of the sun’ was filmed and is still available to this day.

There is a whole load of conjecture about these days and even that conjecture has been prophesied ad nauseam over the past century.

No doubt we will all find out when it’s time, whether we want to or not, and we will all be asked the question about where we stand based on our free will.

There is just a single guarantee that is not just an opinion. The fact that ‘we win’ when everything appears lost!

The implication is to ‘hang in there’ and allow this to pan out as it is planned and promised.

    🙂

Padre Pio specifically remonstrated with the Church not to get too upset as everything remains under control.

    Yup.

The IQ testing itself is not an exact art. I had an obligatory test when I was 12 as did everyone else at school and the put me down as 128, yet 8 years later I did an Airforce test and scored 135.

Yet there were 72 guys in my class at school and my mean place in class was 28th. A dozen guys in my class were in the top 100 in Public Exams in the State of New South Wales (a state with 5 million people). My top exam score was a mid term test when everyone was ‘coasting’ and I was working my arse off and I got up to 15th in class of 72. Brian Lederer my best mate had a mean class score of 5th in class and he ended up as the Professor of Theoretical Physics at Sydney University. There were some seriously brilliant guys who were actual geniuses in that class of exceptional students. Including the two guys who topped the Public Exams with perfect results. Deleranso and Curnow, who regularly swapped places as first and second in public examinations. Yet they were certainly flawed in a number of ways. Curnow and Deleranso actually blew themselves up when working in a chemistry lab by themselves on a Saturday morning. Curnow lost 2 fingers and Delerenso’s back was peppered with chunks of glass. Ron Cripen was the most balanced when it came to academic and sporting endeavour. He averages at number eight in class but was also a fantastically talented batsman and played cricket for NSW and got very close to being picked for the Australian cricket team. Ron was an all round nice guy as well and did REALLY well in business.

    PALESTINE

Palestine, comprising that part of the “Holy Land” west of the Jordan Valley to the Mediterranean Sea, was turned over to Great Britain under Mandate by the League of Nations, with the object of establishing therein a National Home for Jews. The Mandate became effective September, 1923, and included Transjordan with the stipulation that the latter should be excluded from the Jewish settlement clause. On the north, Palestine is bounded by Syria, while in the south Hejaz and Egypt form the limit.

Area and Population. The area of Palestine, under the terms of the Mandate, is about 9,000 square miles. The coastal country, devoid of many good harbors is 15 to 20 miles wide and rises to a rough plateau which, farther east, drops steeply into the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea depression. The climate is hot during the summer, but winters are mild as in Southern Italy. Rainfall is light in the interior.

The populations is estimated at about 800,000, of which about 80 percent are Moslems. The Jewish Settlements are grouped in four districts, Judea, Samaria, Lower Galilee and Upper Galilee. They are 114 in number with about 30,000 inhabitants.

Education. The government maintains over 300 schools that care for about 20,000 children, the bulk of whom are Moslems. The Zionist Organization controls 255 educational institutions includeing several secondary schools and colleges. Christian schools number about 184. There are three official languages in Palestine,—English, Hebrew, and Arabic.

Resources and Industries. The majority of the inhabitants of Palestine are engaged in agriculture. Chief crops are wheat, barley, durra, lentils, olives, citrus fruits, and tobacco. Considerable live-stock is raised, principally sheep, goats, and camels. Manufactures of export importance are olive-oil, soap, and wine. There are many small factories and industries, including soap, brick, tile, and tobacco factories, oil and flour mills, and distilleries. Rock salt, sulphur, carnalite, cooking salt, and bromide are the only minerals of economic value.

Government. The British High Commissioner and an Executive Council are responsible for the execution of the laws. Legislative power is vested in a partly elected Legislative Council. The Zionist Organization is represented by National Committee.

    Capital is Jerusalem, population 62,678.

    Thanksgiving

The autumn harvest festivals, alas, are obsolete
For, living in the cities, we don’t grow the foods we eat.
No evidence of seasons’ changes are there to be found
When supermarkets stock the same foods all the year around.
And little of the seasons’ passing show is evident
From leafless trees in iron grates embedded in cement.

But, though the beat of life has changed, we cannot obviate
The need to mark time’s passage, and the urge to celebrate.
And, if through stone and asphalt Nature’s seasons scarcely show,
We’ll greet each one consistent with the urban life we know,
And gorge ourselves on turkey, mashed potatoes, and ice cream,
To give thanks for that wondrous day the landlord sends up steam.

Leadership at Air Force base in North Dakota warns airmen not to attend rally featuring Turning Point Action’s Tyler Bower or risk ‘jeopardizing’ military career

The DoD has declared WAR on conservatives. Congress should immediately investigate this absurd, unhinged threat.

On the condition of anonymity, I have now heard directly from servicemen at this Air Force base who have confirmed these texts are real.

Their firsthand accounts reveal that while the base is made up mostly of conservatives, all leadership that has been promoted under Joe Biden now skews FAR LEFT.

All white, Christian conservatives are marginalized. DEI and CRT are pumped into everything the commanders at the base do. All promotions and awards are given to those who buy into ideological based trainings.

They also tell me conservatives are leaving the military in droves, recruiting is abysmal and instead of changing directions, the leadership is doubling down.

Joe Biden and the far-left are actively undermining our military readiness and America’s national security.

Add another month of war for every day of cease-fire is the operational estimate by the IDF. So Hamas gets 3 25 year old fighters for every kid or woman abductee. What are the Jews thinking? I won’t set foot in that state until this is struck down and I won’t let Bob either, his family can come here

Happening Now: The New York Appellate Division has ruled in favor of Governor Kathy Hochul in a landmark case for government overreach.

Rule 2.13: “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” will give the state of New York the ability to come in your home and take you away to quarantine without any notice and for any virus or infection they deem necessary.

You won’t have any option to fight it. No court date. Nothing. The rule has no age limit and they can keep you as long as they’d like. The rule also allows them to treat you as they see fit, including using methods that are still in testing.

This is one of the biggest abuses of power this country has ever seen. This is only the beginning. How long until this is nationwide, or even global?

NY vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge border crossing is attempted terror attack: sources

The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion Wednesday at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the U.S. and Canada in what sources tell Fox News was an attempted terrorist attack.

Explosives were in the vehicle at the time and two people who were in the car are dead, the sources told Fox News. A border officer was injured.

The vehicle was driving from the U.S. to Canada and were attempting to drive toward the border officer building, the sources said.

All bridges are closed in the area, and all government buildings are evacuated, according to the sources.

International border crossing points between Canada and Western New York are closed after the reported incident, which has also injured at least one person, a 27-year-old male who was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, including back pain and minor cuts. His condition is not severe.

“The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the US and Canada in Niagara Falls,” the FBI said in a statement.

It continued, “The FBI is coordinating with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. As this situation is very fluid, that’s all we can say at this time.”

It turns out that bullets are an essential part of a gun, and limiting the number of rounds in a gun violates the Oregon constitution. A county judge in Oregon made that decision on Tuesday overturning Measure 114, a citizen-passed measure that outlawed what gun grabbers call “high capacity magazines” and required that Oregon serfs get a permit to be allowed to purchase a gun.

Regarding “high-capacity magazines,” I’ve often thought that there should be an initiative to restrict such “high-capacity magazines” as The New Yorker,, the Atlantic, Newspeak Newsweek, etc., etc.

Of course the journalists and publishers would scream bloody murder, claiming that such restrictions would be unconstitutional under the First Amendment. This would open the door to what they call a “teachable moment” about the Second Amendment.

Equivalent to approx 22 million trees, or 0.00076% of the carbon sucking capacity of all of the estimated 3 trillion trees put together.

“The british created the modern Israel?” What fantasy.

HMG issued the Balfour Declaration because Chaim Weizmann saved their ass in WWI by creating synthetic cordite when the idiot Brits were running out of ammunition. Not that the Balfour Declaration had begun the Israeli nation-building; that happened almost 4 decades prior to the outbreak of WWI, when the region was still under Turkish rule.

And, of course, as usual, perfidious Albion immediately set about undermining its own commitments once it actually issued the Balfour Declaration. It gave the bulk of the “Palestine Mandate” land to the Hashemites, as a consolation prize for screwing them out of their traditional kingdom in central Arabia (the British wanted to pay off the brigand clan now known as “the House of Saud” for having fought with them against the Turks).

Even though the entire area “from the River to the Sea” was supposedly open to Jewish settlement, the British never cracked down on the marauding Arabs, and they issued White Papers forbidding Jewish immigration. Did they behave even half as well as they did when they engaged in the population transfers between newly-independent India and newly-created Pakistan? Don’t make me laugh.

    ANYONE?

Or are we just going to make the same mistakes the world made in 2019/20 when China infected the globe with 100,000 infected Chinese airline passengers allowed to infect the world before massed symptoms began to be manifest?

    @ Possum:
“The British created the modern Israel?” What fantasy.
Yup. That was a fantasy. Britain has a LOT to answer for.
His Majesty’s Government issued the Balfour Declaration because Chaim Weizmann saved their ass in WWI by creating synthetic cordite when the idiot Brits were running out of ammunition.

Nope. That is a ‘VERY long Bow ‘Buzz ! It was a tad more nuanced than that!

Israeli nation-building that happened almost 4 decades prior to the outbreak of WWI, when the region was still under Turkish rule.

Yup. The idea of the Socialist Zionist State began in the formative communist era of Engles, Marx and Lenin in the later 1800s and early 1900s. By the time the Balfour Declaration happened in the 1920s , Britain was caught trying to ‘make a silk stocking out of a sow’s ear’ (pardon the pun). Naturally Britain totally screwed it up by trying to play both sides of the street and just pissing everyone off. The proto-UN created the Jewish State between war’s end in 1945 and the birth of the Zionist (socialist) Jewish homeland in 1948.

    Yup, 100% correct Buzz …..
Go ask Lawrence of Arabia ‘the nutter Brit who’d gone native’. Another incentive was OIL! Ahhh perfidious Albion! Gotta luv ‘em…. At least they are consistent!

    Yup again ….

Even though the entire area “from the River to the Sea” was supposedly open to Jewish settlement, the British never cracked down on the marauding Arabs, and they issued White Papers forbidding Jewish immigration.
Yeah ,yeah I saw the movie ‘Exodus ‘ too! 
Did they behave even half as well as they did when they engaged in the population transfers between newly-independent India and newly-created Pakistan? Don’t make me laugh.

There was that pesky English ‘conscience’ getting in the way of rational State Policy decisions yet again!

The Brits are infamous for their perfidy, their stupidity, military (Land forces) ignorance, endemic ‘class-ism’, REALLY second rate military leadership, mercantilist lust and guilty conscience.

    🙂

As for body shaming. Leave me outta that argument. That’s NO WIN HERE ‘dead horse gambit’ if ever there was one.

The criminal gang from the House of Saudi had snatched that so ever perfidious Albion naturally went with the power and money and laid down with the criminal gang called Saudi. The poor old Hashemites were given the resource wasteland called Jordan. That’ll teach the Hashemites a lesson that being good soldiers and having their King a graduate of Sandhurst Military Academy in the UK, loyal to Britain just doesn’t cut it when MONEY and OIL are involved. The bloody Palestinians are hated universally amongst Sunnis everywhere because they are a bunch of idiot pricks. Egypt hates then because they bring trouble with them wherever they go. Hashemite Jordan hates them, because the Jordanian State fears their Palestinian majority threat, inside Jordan pose to the Hashemite tribe. Not an unfounded fear.

Britain should have just got back on their boats and got the fuck out of there and left the natives to fight it out.

……. Yup. There is that pesky Brit Conscience butting in again, getting the UK deep in the shit again! ….

Bring it up to recent times did the Australians get involved in Timor trying to separate the East ones from the West ones?

….. Yup. The Indonesians are shit scared that the Javanese core has a huge number of Non-Javanese tacked onto their country and that makes the country unstable. Especially the Chinese Indonesians. (remember the forgotten face that the Indons killed 100,000 Chinese Indonesians because of that ‘national instability’ fear)
Naturally the bloody UN got involved and screwed the scrum for the Australian led Timor Force. The Indonesian military ‘COMPASS’ had crossed swords in Borneo with the NZ and Aussie SAS and had their arses handed to them on a plate. They remembered that and their defence of the Eastern half of Timor was a bit half hearted. They were up against Gen. Peter Cosgrove who was a first rate commander and even with the’ UN -Albatross’ hanging around Cosgrove’s neck, the war in Timor was a ‘fool’s errand’ for Indonesia and they knew it. Pete Cosgrove played the hand he was dealt expertly and there was never any chance that Cosgrove would even look like losing. The Indon’s folded and lost the Timor oil fields to the south of Timor. Actually Aussie oil interests picked the eyes out of the oil fields partition lines. Seems Oz had learned a few Brit ‘Perfidious Albion ‘ tricks from the UK along the way!

    🙂

The British did wrong trying to re-shape primitive tribal shit.

    Definitely YES.
The fact that Brit Mercantilism and big $$$$$ were in play made Britain try all the harder. Remember that Britain had in the past invaded somewhere near 68 or so Nation States over 250 years of ‘free-booting’. They had what is called a ‘reputation!’

Yeah. This reminds me of the 2006 game were we were both ranked 1 and 2 in the nation. The NCAA will not let us play each other again for the NC, so this is to see who advances and who goes home. And if Ryan Day will keep his job as OSU head coach. Even old Urban Meyer mentioned that. LOL

Saying that, the UM football scandal of “stealing signs” for the last 2 years seems to be convenient as that is when they started to actually beat OSU. What is stranger is that no one mentioning UM football staffer, Alex Yood, getting memory holed for trying to hook-up with a 13 y.o. girl.

I would ignore the point spread on this game. The rivalry tends to cause surprises the bookies cannot foresee (2004 game, where 6-4 OSU beats 9-1 UM by 16 points).

This will be a good game as both teams have shown flaws and are evenly matched up.

I agree with you about the massive cooking thing that takes hours and creates lots of left overs. I prefer to cook something simple but different.

Today I would have cooked myself a juicy steak and indulged in roasted parsnips, Brussels sprouts and a nice baked potato.

What is special or different about that meal you may ask?

The parsnips. They do not exist here.

Anyway turkey is traditional but it would take me two weeks to eat one. An alternative would be a chicken, when cooked it like like a small turkey.

But still too much effort. But you see a pattern here. Thanksgiving meal is based around a bird.

    So what to eat tonight?

    Fried egg sandwich!!!!!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving.

Install some grow lights and fill your bathtub with potting soil. You don’t use it anyway.

    Typical Chinese PLAN arrogance.
They were warned that two divers were clearing the Frigate’s props of heavy weight fishing ropes. The Chinese circled back and ‘pinged’ to kill or injure the divers working underwater.Clear case of attempted murdey by the PLAN. The knew that the HMAS Toowoomba was unable to start its engines while the divers were working on cutting the snarled lines from the propeller shafts so they cowardly tried to murder the two divers. HMAS Toowoomba should have fired their quick fire 76mm gun through the bridge of the PLAN ship!

    Bastards,

Yet the Aussie ‘Hard Left Faction’ Prime Minister was meeting XI and he didn’t even register a complaint. The don’t call this bastard ‘Each Way Also’ for nothing

The Aussie Navy divers had their eardrums burst by the PLAN sonar ‘ping’!

    @ Aussie Infidel:
What some people here do not understand is “Thanksgiving” has been a tradition for thousands of years. It is also celebrated by the name of Harvest Festival.

but, in other countries there is no fixed date.

It is celebrated when the harvest is done. And that depends on the weather, the growth of the crops, the geographical location and the crop type.

Jingle Bells is mis-titled. The One Horse Open Sleigh was written in 1850 by James Lord Pierpont, a Confederate soldier, and published in 1857. The song was intended for the Thanksgiving holiday, not Christmas.

    Yeah!
We now have a new government made up of a coalition of three centre right parties
Here are their agreed mandated programs that they have agreed to implement whilst in the Treasure Benches in Parliament. The standard Parliamentary term in NZ is 3 years:
Have read through the two agreements and there is some great stuff there – better than my expectations. Some of the stuff I’m especially pleased about:

Legislate to improve the quality of regulation, ensuring that regulatory decisions are based on principles of good law-making and economic efficiency, by passing the Regulatory Standards Act as soon as practicable.
Deliver savings in public sector spending by reducing non-essential back office functions, with expenditure reduction targets to be set for each agency, informed by the increase in back office head count at that agency since 2017.
Amend the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 2021 to remove the dual mandate
Repeal the Fair Pay Agreement regime by Christmas 2023.
Expand 90-day trials to apply to all businesses.
Repeal the Natural and Built Environment Act 2023 and the Spatial Planning Act 2023 by Christmas.
Replace the Resource Management Act 1991 with new resource management laws premised on the enjoyment of property rights as a guiding principle.
Remove the Kāinga Ora Sustaining Tenancies Framework and ensure appropriate consequences for tenants who engage in repeated antisocial behaviour.
Work to replace fuel excise taxes with electronic road user charging for all vehicles, starting with electric vehicles.
Allow landlords to issue a 90 day notice to a tenant to end a periodic tenancy without providing a reason or applying to the Tenancy Tribunal.
    Liberalise genetic engineering laws.
Repeal the ban on offshore oil and gas exploration.
Restore Three Strikes legislation, with amendments to tighten the definition of strike offences and ensure some benefit for pleading guilty.
Reintroduce partnership schools and introduce a policy to allow state schools to become partnership schools.
Replace the Fees Free programme with a final year fees free policy with no change before 2025.
Amend the Education and Training Act 2020 such that tertiary education providers receiving taxpayer funding must commit to a free speech policy.
    Disestablish the Māori Health Authority.
Require Medsafe to approve new pharmaceuticals within 30 days of them being approved by at least two overseas regulatory agencies recognised by New Zealand.
Repeal the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Smoked Tobacco) Amendment Act2022 to remove the requirements for denicotinisation and the reduction in retail outlets.
Implement sanctions, including electronic money management, for beneficiaries who can work but refuse to take agreed steps to find a job.
Remove Section 7AA from the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989.
Remove co-governance from the delivery of public services.
Ensure government contracts are awarded based on value, without racial discrimination.
Repeal the Canterbury Regional Council (Ngāi Tahu Representation) Act 2022.
Restore the right to local referendum on the establishment or ongoing use of Māori wards, including requiring a referendum on any wards established without referendum at the next local body elections.
Introduce a Treaty Principles Bill based on existing ACT policy and support it to a Select Committeeas soon as practicable.
Let Kiwis keep more of what they earn with tax relief of up to $100 per fortnight for an average income household and a FamilyBoost childcare tax credit of up to $150 per fortnight.
Build infrastructure with 13 new Roads of National Significant and four major public transport upgrades.
Reduce Core Crown expenditure as a proportion of the overall economy.
The Parties commit to establish a fast-track one-stop-shop consenting and permitting process for regional and national projects of significance.
Cancel Auckland Light Rail and Let’s Get Wellington Moving and reduce expenditure on cycleways.
Commit to training no fewer than 500 new frontline police within the first two years.
Reform the Fleeing Driver laws to curb the increase in fleeing driver incidents.
Where appropriate, require prisoners to work, including in the construction of new accommodation in prisons or pest control.
Introduce the Protection for First Responders and Prison Officers legislation which will create aspecific offence for assaults on first responders which includes minimum mandatory prison sentences.
Introduce the Coward Punch legislation which will create a specific offence for anyone who injures orkills someone with a coward punch.
Investigate the introduction and implementation of Degrees of Murder Sentencing legislation.
Support to select committee a bill that would enact a binding referendum on a four-year term of parliament.
Ensure publicly funded sporting bodies support fair competition that is not compromised by rules relating to gender.
Ensure all public service departments have their primary name in English, except for those specificallyrelated to Māori.
Require the public service departments and Crown Entities to communicate primarily in English -except those entities specifically related to Māori.
Protect freedom of speech by ruling out the introduction of hate speech legislation and stop the LawCommission’s work on hate speech legislation.
The Coalition Government will defend the principle that New Zealanders are equal before the law, with the same rights and obligations, and with the guarantee of the privileges and responsibilities of equal citizenship in New Zealand.
The Coalition Government will work to improve outcomes for all New Zealanders, and will not advance policies that seek to ascribe different rights and responsibilities to New Zealanders on the basis of their race or ancestry.
Restore the right to local referendum on the establishment or ongoing use of Māori wards, including requiring a referendum on any wards established without referendum at the next Local Body elections.
So heaps I’m really happy about. This is a very good policy agreement. There are some things I wish had survived such as raising the Super age but you can’t get everything.

Some places online sell parsnips but they are organic and shipping is pricy.

Settling for four bags of this. Great Value Root Blend, Beets, Carrots, Parsnips and Sweet Potatoes, 20 oz (Frozen)

I do this with other blends of frozen veggies, just pick out the veggies I want for a particular meal.

I HATE sweet potato, never actually had any but I may be surprised LOL
