EXCLUSIVE: Biden Races To Sell Off Border Wall Parts Before Trump Takes Office

‘The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas,’ Arizona border patrol agent tells The Daily Wire

The Biden administration is using its final weeks to haul a massive amount of border wall materials away from the southern border to be sold off in a government auction, an apparent effort to hinder President-elect Donald Trump’s effort to secure the border, The Daily Wire has learned.

Videos obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire from a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent show unused sections of the wall being hauled away on the back of flatbed trucks from a section of the border just south of Tucson, a hotspot for illegal crossings during the Biden administration. The agent estimates that up to half a mile per day of unused border wall is being moved.

“They are taking it from three stations: Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points,” the border patrol agent, who was granted anonymity to speak freely, told The Daily Wire. “The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas.”

Trump made clear during his campaign that he intends to finish construction of the border wall, making use of the materials that have remained untouched at the border since President Joe Biden took office in 2021. If the material brought to the border during his first term is sold off, it will significantly delay any progress on one of Trump’s flagship campaign promises at the border.

Video of the GovPlanet auction site where the material is being taken shows seemingly endless piles of unused border wall material. Another video, taken from one of the construction sites on the border, shows DP Trucking LLC trucks passing through with the same style of unused border wall stacked up the back of their flatbeds.

The auction website shows that sales occurred as recently as December 4 for precisely the types of materials being pulled off the border. GovPlanet has online auctions set for Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 for more of the border wall material, which is listed on the company’s website as “32.91’ X 7.91’ Steel Bollard Wall Sections w/Grout.”

The bidding for each section of wall panels is set to begin at only $5.00, according to the website.

The Customs and Border Protection Agency referred The Daily Wire to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, saying the latter had jurisdiction over the materials until they are erected. From there, The Daily Wire was referred to the Defense Logistics Agency, where an official said the standing policy is to refer all media requests on this to the public affairs team at the Office of the Secretary of Defense. A member of the public affairs team declined to respond to inquiries.

    @ Buckeye Abroad:
The early bird catches the worm but does the early worm get eaten?
    Answer
Ah, the existential conundrum of the worm. If the early bird catches the worm, then yes, the early worm indeed risks becoming breakfast. However, consider this: maybe the early worm is just practicing extreme yoga, blending into the earth, becoming one with the soil, thus dodging the beak of fate. But if we’re sticking to the script, the early worm’s strategy might just be an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for the bird. So, to sum up, the early worm might get eaten, unless it’s mastered the art of subterranean hide-and-seek.

    YUP

    Exactly!

Now raise your temporal eyes a wee bit and ask the question? WHAT HAPPENS in just 38 days time?

Now join up the dots what would cause that incident to be cancelled or postponed due to a National Security situation?

    Hmmmm

Smells like DARPA writ large with a dose of THE SWAMP doing a classic Psyops program designed to put the ‘frighteners’ into the more skittish amongst us?

Now relax folks the narrative is beginning to leak on the edges. The Feds are warning the folks NOT to fire shotguns at the drone swarms, or the Feds will come and arrest you. That’s code for ….. ” don’t shoot down the drones because they belong to US!

Notice how the crashed ‘drone’ over Jersey instantly vanished off the planet and MSM, as soon as civilians started asking questions. Now not only has the crash been ignored but the denials are now starting.

Talk about the narrative leaking out already. A drone was recorded firing air to ground with RED TRACERS .

Liked like 20mm RED TRACER initially followed by lighter possibly 7.62mm RED TRACER over New Jersey.!
    Now ask yourself.
WHO on the planet Earth uses RED tracer exclusively? The Western armed forces, that’s who! It’s the WEST doing the shooting. The Russians , Chinese, NK Iranians use GREEN TRACER exclusively, so it’s none of them!

See how narratives leak information accidentally. Opps Private Smedley, sorry but we forget that ordering you to begin firing RED traced, kinda gave the game away.

    https://x.com/TheChiefNerd/status/1867408368144441788?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1867408368144441788%7Ctwgr%5E82954681303fc88250d37ad36c5d8fe2ddbc39c2%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.infowars.com%2Fposts%2Fwild-drones-filmed-firing-tracer-rounds-near-new-jersey-military-base

    🙂

Gotta be careful when running a Psyops ‘scare campaign’ to justify a National Security threat, that translates to having to cancel something pencilled in for the Jan 20!

    Yup

    Hawley calls them out:-

An eye witness says the drone he saw over New Jersey was 40ft x 40ft….that’s larger than a 2 car garage!

So let me get this straight: the FBI can figure out if a grandparent took a selfie in the Capitol four years ago, but they can’t figure out who was flying drones over New Jersey last weekend?
    Yeah, right!
The Pentagon says the mysterious drones over New Jersey:
    • Aren’t from a foreign adversary ………. Correct as they were firing Western Forces Red Tracer
    • Aren’t US military ……. Correct but being VERY careful choosing the words. NOT military but DARPA of contractors.
    • Definitely not from an “Iranian mothership” …… Correct. That’s just silly!

    Meanwhile:
    • FBI knows nothing ……. Well Duhhhhh …..what else is new, but they are serial liars and why break the habits of a lifetime?
    • Local law enforcement knows nothing Well Duhhhhhh ……….. That’s understandable as even more would have leaked before now!
    • None have been shot down ……..Correct ….. But they obfuscated the fact that one had crashed all on its own!…. Buttttttt don’t ask any questions ……

PSYOPS scare program written all over this!
This is about creating a narrative to call off Jan 20 get together …..BECAUSE ….. National Security!

Now sit down shut up and don’t ask questions, or the Feds will shut ya down!

A technical post and I wish I spoke Spanish.

Someone within this apartment block is playing with, or has, an ESP32 running and doing something.

They are using the WiFi function of it but have not disabled the default Bluetooth part of it.

When I connect to my headphones several devices appear, Someone’s lights, a couple of TVs and an ESP32.

In my box of stuff I no longer play with are several ESP32s, and Arduinos and other cool shit.

It would be nice to bond with an human who has the same interests as I used to have.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESP32

    They are $5-10 on Amazon.

ESP32 is a series of low-cost, low-power system-on-chip microcontrollers with integrated Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth. The ESP32 series employs either a Tensilica Xtensa LX6 microprocessor in both dual-core and single-core variations, an Xtensa LX7 dual-core microprocessor, or a single-core RISC-V microprocessor and includes built-in antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power-management modules. Commonly found either on device specific PCBs or on a range of development boards with GPIO pins and various connectors depending on the model and manufacturer of the board.

ESP32 is created and developed by Espressif Systems, a Chinese company based in Shanghai, and is manufactured by TSMC using their 40 nm process.[2] It is a successor to the ESP8266 microcontroller.

ABC News, George Stephanopoulos Agree to Pay $15 Million to Settle Trump’s Defamation Lawsuit

ABC News and its anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with President-elect Donald Trump in a defamation lawsuit, agreeing to pay a $15 million charitable contribution, $1 million to cover Trump’s attorney fees, and issue an apology.
A joint notice, filed on Dec. 14, indicates that the parties have both entered into a written settlement agreement, resolving the legal dispute that began when Trump sued ABC News and Stephanopoulos in the Southern District of Florida, alleging defamation after Stephanopoulos claimed on air that Trump was “found liable for rape” by a federal jury.
The settlement agreement, filed on Dec. 14 alongside the joint notice, indicates that the settlement was motivated by the desire to “avoid the further expense, inconvenience and distraction of litigation.”

As part of the agreement, Stephanopoulos and ABC News will publish a statement of regret as an editor’s note at the bottom of a March 10, 2024, online article, addressing comments made earlier this year that led Trump to file the lawsuit.

“ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024,” the statement reads.

The defendants will also pay $15 million to a presidential foundation and museum to be established by Trump, along with $1 million to the president-elect’s counsel.

Yorkshire pudding is a ” meat extender ” and for poor northern English families is served on its own with gravy as a first course. A starter, appetiser or whatever you desire to call it.

One thing that was accurate was the 4lbs of meat and if you look at the recipe it says serves four.

But not four on the same day. That would be 1lbs of meat per person.

Nope, the Sunday roast is then served Monday as well as thin slices of beef in a sandwich.

Tuesday is a great day! Rissoles!

What is left of the Sunday roast is finely minced authentically using a hand mincer that is fastened to a table. Then mixed with finely chopped onions and bread crumbs, or even bread you put in the hand mincer and an egg or two.

That is then shaped into patties and shallow fried.

Another way to extend meat for poor people.

    Example Googled at random.

    https://yorkshiredalesfood.co.uk/2011/12/02/beef-rissoles-with-creamed-horseradish/

After a wonderful Family Sunday Lunch of Best Yorkshire Beef, Yorkshire Puddings, carrot & turnip, green beans, roast potatoes, mash, lashings of gravy and my own creamed horseradish what to do with the leftover beef! I know, who has leftover beef! I did choose quite a large joint deliberately as we do usually love cold beef salad or beef sandwiches. I wanted to try homemade rissoles,

    Later in that article.

    Ingredients:-

8oz/225g leftover beef or lamb (I used leftover Silverside of Beef)
    1 small onion
    1½ oz/40g fresh white breadcrumbs
    ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 level tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
    1 clove garlic, crushed/chopped
    1 egg
    salt & pepper
    wholewheat flour
    rapeseed oil

LOL dafuq is cinnamon doing in a rissole?

Some of you will have thought ” That recipe for rissoles looks strangely like a recipe for meatloaf”

Yes, in fact this morning Walmart delivered a canister of Italian bread crumbs just for that purpose.

A rissole is basically a burger sized chunk of meatloaf that takes 15 minutes to cook instead of hours. And you can make it in small batches.

I do 1/4lbs of ground beef, 1oz of breadcrumbs, half a small yellow onion finely chopped, salt, pepper, sage powder and an egg.

The 1/4lbs of ground beef is conveniently a 1/4lbs frozen burger.

    Meatloaf for one meal.

Awwwww don’t be a scaredy cat. The cooc even has a name. Elvis

He’s too old to skin and he gets 3 squares a day, so what could go wrong?

There is an ‘old saltie’ that size who lives under the Port Douglas River bridge leading into Port Douglas in northern Queensland. He hunts black tip sharks that stray up river and keeps their numbers down. The Port Douglas beach is just a mile up the coast and there are no black tip sharks hovering around the drop off. The divers keep a weather eye for Cecil when diving but the BIG C just stays under his bridge, up his river waiting for lunch to arrive from offshore. He’s never been seen off the beach and he must be 60 or older given his size.

There is a creek on the northern outskirts of Port Douglas just north of town where at low tide there is a largeish juvenile croc called ‘No Name’ . You can sit on the cantilevered veranda over the creek and have a beer or two. The publican sells frozen chickens and hangs them out about eye level and watch ‘No Name’ leap out of the muddy creek and snatch chickens from a rope. Not a good idea drinking beers at high tide, as ‘No Name’ might end up on the verandah with you!

Of course there are drones over Oak Ridge.

These HPGe drones with spectrometric detectors are practicing sniffing out Radiation sources, in an exercise linked to an exercise practicing for a ‘dirty radiological bomb’

The HPGe detection drones carry large ‘cryocoolers’ down at the works end of the drone. Their control antennae are large horned antennae working in the 200+ gHz band and that’s why they can’t be jammed or picked up easily, as the control signals are highly directional.

The reason why the DoD and Pentagon are playing …. “the I know naffing, I see Naffing schtick because they are breaking a dozen laws that prohibiting these specific HPGe drones for reconnaissance , surveillance, and INTEL gathering tasks inside the US, targeting civilian populations.

DAVID MARCUS: Drone debacle perfect end to Biden’s ‘You don’t need to know’ presidency.

Up in the air. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the Biden administration’s final bit of credibility on fire in the form of giant mysterious drones over New Jersey.

As President Joe Biden limps away from one of the worst presidencies in American history, these unidentified flying objects, whatever they are, serve as a reminder that the general attitude of this White House towards the American people has been, “you don’t need to know that.”

We didn’t need to know that the president of the United States was suffering severe mental decline, we didn’t need to know that he was actually open to pardoning his son Hunter while swearing he never would.

Even back in 2021, when breakthrough COVID cases among the vaccinated that weren’t supposed to exist were popping up all over Washington DC, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked then Press Secretary Jen Psaki how many had been detected at the White House.

“Why do you need that information?” was her incredible reply.

In other words, you don’t need to know.

For four years now, it has been the Biden administration and the Biden administration alone that has deigned to decide what Americans do and do not need to know, and even in the case of the former, half the time these people just seem to be lying.

Setting aside Sundown Joe’s role as John Gill, the Chinese spy balloon debacle absolutely destroyed any credibility his staffers might have had when it comes to playing it straight with the nation over our enemies spying on us. As Steve wrote last year: Confirmed: That Chinese Spy Balloon Made Fools of the Biden Administration.

Project Blue Beam is a secret project by run by NASA and the United Nations to implement a New World Order through the use of advanced holographic technology and psychological manipulation. This project would involve the staging of a fake alien invasion or a false messiah to deceive and unify humanity under a single government.

The theory claims that advanced technologies could be used to project images into the sky or create realistic holograms to manipulate public perception and belief. Proponents often cite the use of UFO sightings, natural disasters, or other significant events as potential means to facilitate this agenda.

I’m not sure if you have ever seen a real high quality hologram but I have. Those orbs going around where the drones are definitely look like they could be a hologram. However, there is an article up on the Blaze now that says they were buzzing Wright Patterson today and caused the base to shut down their airspace and other activities.

Breaking: I can report that the deceased mass shooter at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisc. is a 15-year-old girl named Natalie Lynn Rupnow.

She carried out the mass shooting in the school library, according to a source. She did not identify as trans.

The teen girl used the name “Sam” online and the username “crossixir.” She had an extensive online obsession with school shooters and death, particularly the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Rupnow was a big fan of the KMFDM rock band, which was also referenced by one of the Columbine shooters. (She often wore the shirt of the band.)

Rupnow’s online friends identified the X account, which purported to belong to the shooter, soon after news broke of the shooting. The account’s last post is of an “okay” hand symbol in the school’s bathroom by the library minutes before the shooting.

FEMA has offered to purchase land from homeowners in Cocke County, Tennessee, whose properties are located in a flood plain.

FEMA has also instructed the county to block these homeowners from rebuilding their homes.

In response, Cocke County officials are considering withdrawing entirely from FEMA’s flood insurance program, citing frustrations over federal interference and the impact on property rights.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, a key figure in uncovering controversial bioweapons programs, has been k*lled in a Moscow explosion triggered by an explosive device.

Kirillov gained international attention for investigating alleged U.S.-backed biolabs in Ukraine, claiming they were researching methods to spark a pandemic and frame Russia.

He publicly denounced COVID-19 as a man-made virus created by the U.S. government and exposed the involvement of vaccine giants Pfizer and Moderna in U.S. military and biological operations in Ukraine.

He went further and revealed that Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Seneca Investment Fund and the Soros Foundation were financing Ukrainian biolaboratories.

    @ eaglesoars:
There are several leaks on the Russian side of the space station. In the module that contains the docking ports for the Russian crew space crafts. Has been for a while but they are getting worse. Old age.

Seen some reports that this is causing a lowering of the ISS orbit by about 5 kilometers per month. The air blowing out is like a thruster.

The ISS has to use its own thrusters to move it into a higher orbit anyway as it is flying so low that its orbit decays, and sometimes it has to dodge space debris.

Anyway what they do is seal the hatch that connects the Russian docking ports at night to minimise the leaks.

They cannot close that hatch 24/7 as access to the Soyuz craft is essential as an escape route.

When there is an expected solar flare or a close call with space debris expected all the people get into their respective return craft and shut themselves in so if ISS takes a hit they can un-dock and return to Earth.

    @ Possum:
The International Space Station (ISS) uses thrusters for a variety of reasons, including: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

    • Repositioning: The ISS uses thrusters to reposition itself:
    • Correcting a spin: In August 2021, the Nauka module mistakenly fired its thrusters, causing the ISS to spin 540 degrees and flip upside down. The station regained control after about 47 minutes, thanks to the mission team’s preparedness and contingency planning.
    • Avoiding space junk: The ISS has fired its thrusters to avoid space junk.
    • Raising its orbit: The Progress 89 spacecraft fired its thrusters to raise the ISS’s orbit.

The ISS’s propulsion system uses hydrogen/oxygen thrusters, with an on-board water electrolysis system to provide the propellants. [7]
The ISS orbits Earth at an average altitude of about 250 miles, traveling at 17,500 mph. This means it orbits Earth every 90 minutes. [8]

All the Sci-Fi movies has escape pods!

Sigourney Weaver in Aliens in the 70’s escaped using one, wearing just a white cotton top and panties, but I digress.

The space craft people go to the ISS is their return ride, and also their escape capsule.

That is why when the Failed Boeing capsule returned empty and the Space X flight going up with two seats spare was a stressful couple of months. More people on the ISS than return seats to safety.

The latest attempt to sabotage the incoming administration:

Feds Look To Hire Up To 1,200 New DEI Bureaucrats Before Trump Takes Office

The federal government is currently in the process of hiring as many as 1,200 employees to work on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) — employees who would be embedded into the permanent federal workforce headed into the Trump administration, according to a Daily Wire analysis of federal job opportunities.

The jobs have annual salaries of up to $310,000, and could add up to total salary payouts of $160 million a year. Thirty-three DEI jobs were posted in the 10 days immediately following the election of Donald Trump, and the hiring window closes before he takes office.

The bureaucracy is scrambling to fill even high-level jobs, just underneath the ranks of “political appointees,” before the Trump administration takes over. On November 15, for example, the Department of Health and Human Services advertised for a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health, to “promote health equity” at a salary of up to $221,900.

The candidate will “exercise[] leadership to ensure that all programs under their direction reflect the principles of workforce diversity.” The application window for the position closed on November 29, and the Biden HHS is currently reviewing applications before the Trump HHS. If hired, the agency’s likely head, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., will be saddled with the senior executive, who “serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary … on minority health issues.”

The jobs are all advertised on USAJobs.gov, the official application portal for would-be federal employees, and were listed with a status of “applications under review” or “accepting applications” when The Daily Wire obtained the jobs data late last month.

    Hygiene update.

Last Friday apartment complex lost hot water, then all water for three days.

Monday it was fixed, but it was a cool day so as I do not use heating as the main breaker trips I deferred bathing. Tuesday the same.

Today it is warmer and so when sitting down in front of the computer having a morning coffee I smelled something that was not a litter box that required cleaning but almost the same smell.

Yep, it was me. If you can smell yourself you is stinky!

Time for a nice long soak in the bath tub. I do not shower due to the fear of slipping and not being found or missed for months. I slither into and out of the tub.

Went to kitchen to make another cup of coffee before bath time and, NO WATER! However when checking email

Good morning residents, the water will be turned off most of the day today and will be back on before closing time.
    We apologize for any inconvenience.

OK so I had to research a movie to post a reply to a Xweet about pilots who were authorized to drop nuclear weapons being issued with an eye patch.

Mission accomplished and found the best, highest quality version of By Dawn’s Early Light 1990.

It is well worth a watch, yeah I know Rebecca De Mornay is hot, but there are some other great actors.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099197/
The cast list amuses me. Martin Landau as the President is cool, but James Earl Jones plays Alice, Ronald William Lawrence is a hooker, and Rebecca De Mornay stars as “Moreau (as Rebecca DeMornay)”.

Currently cooking chicken drum sticks for lunch. High fat, high protein and zero carbs.

Method, skin peeled back, onion powder and sage applied then skin re-attached with lots of massaging and secured with a tooth pick to stop skin retraction. I normally use the coloured party pics when stabbing chicken skin and attaching it to chicken meat but Walmart are out, so have to use plain toothpicks.

I like to use coloured as they are easy to see. However in drumsticks only use one. Assume there is just one per chicken leg.

All wrapped in foil and 60 minutes at 250F. Then unwrapped and in air cooker for 20 minutes at 400F , turning over at 10 minute mark.

Served with honey mustard dressing and a can of drained Libbys sliced carrots decorated with 62g of Good Value Alfredo.

When lunch is ready it will be served on a couple of sheets of paper towels as….

I have no clean plates because I have NO FUCKING WATER!

“Rebecca De Mornay was born 1959 as Rebecca Jane Pearch, in Santa Rosa, CA, to Wally George and Julie Eager. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother moved to Pasadena and married Richard De Mornay, who adopted her. After her stepfather’s untimely death in 1962, Rebecca’s mother moved her and her half-brother Peter to Europe, where she was raised primarily in England and Austria. In 1977, Rebecca graduated “summa cum laude” from a German-speaking high school in the Austrian alps, and still speaks fluent German and French.”

Georgia Appeals Court Disqualifies Fani Willis From Trump Election Case

A Georgia appeals court disqualified Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the election-related criminal case against President-elect Donald Trump and about a dozen codefendants, although the indictment still stands.

Trump and his codefendants were charged in 2023 by Willis’s office for what they claimed was a scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. Trump and the remaining codefendants pleaded not guilty.

However, Willis’s case hit a snag in early 2024 after it was revealed that she engaged in a relationship with the case’s then-special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, before a Fulton County judge in March ruled that Willis could remain as prosecutor if Wade resigned, which he later did. Trump and several codefendants appealed the judge’s decision to the Georgia Court of Appeals, which rendered its decision on Willis Thursday morning.

“After carefully considering the trial court’s findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office,” the Georgia Court of Appeals wrote in its decision.

OK, it is 6am here and 12pm in the UK on 20th December. And I am drunk as a skunk after waking up four hours ago and looking at my emails and bank account in the US every ten minutes.

This getting paid once a year shit is stressful.

Hoping I got it all correct. The bank routing numbers and shit is scary. Domestic wire transfer numbers, International wire transfers, BACS whatever that is letters and numbers.

Then there is the US dollar to UK pound exchange rate.

Taxes, that is another issue. When my money eventually departs from England 20% is taken as tax which I will be able to claim back in April 2025 ( April in UK is end of tax year ) when the USA IRS sends the paper work to the UK confirming I do not live in the UK but in the USA.

However, I will have to pay USA tax on my money when and if it arrives in the USA today.

Plus the fact that hopefully an amount of money will arrive which is over $10,000 will be deposited in my bank.

Yeah, stop laughing. Any amount over $10,000 deposited has to be declared by the bank to the government and flags that person as a suspected money launderer or drug dealer.

Hey, I still have beer and cake. For now….

    @ eaglesoars:

That’s not actually true. All that was in the bill was a transfer of control of the old RFK Stadium site from the federal government to DC:

No, the original Congressional stopgap bill didn’t allocate $3B for an NFL stadium

The spending bill, proposed on Dec. 17, authorizes the transfer of administrative control of the RFK Stadium site in Washington, D.C. from the federal government to the District of Columbia, which could potentially lead to a new stadium for the NFL’s Washington Commanders. The bill explicitly states no federal funds would be allocated for the construction of a new stadium.

The 177-acre RFK Stadium site is currently owned and operated by the federal government. U.S. law says federal and D.C. authorities can transfer control of any property between each other, but ownership of the property remains with the federal government unless Congress votes to sell the property.

In this case, the continuing resolution only gives Washington, D.C. the power to decide what to do with the property and any buildings on it, but the land itself is still owned by the federal government.

The District of Columbia would be responsible for the costs for maintaining the land and the bill spells out that, “the District may not use Federal funds for stadium purposes on the [RFK] Campus, including training facilities, offices, and other structures necessary to support a stadium.”

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser addressed the misinformation on Dec. 19, debunking claims that federal dollars would fund the stadium.

“It was stated that the CR contains $3 billion for a stadium. All wrong,” she said. “There are no federal dollars related to the transfer of RFK, and in fact the legislation does not require or link at all to a stadium. We’re talking about how the District can invest in removing blight.”

LOL I looked into this years ago when the issue of US National debt intrigued me. Intrigued is a sophisticated word which I do not use much. It basically means ” What the fuck? ”

Anyway, the USA borrows money from many countries and pays them back at a fixed interest rate decided at the time of the loan.

The largest part of the current debt is owed to, now wait for it, US citizens that invested in US treasury bonds and other stuff.

LOL The USA borrowed money from the UK! 🙂
The major foreign holders of U.S. national debt, specifically U.S. Treasury securities, include:

Japan: Japan is traditionally one of the largest holders of U.S. debt. As of recent data, Japan held approximately $1.15 trillion in U.S. Treasury securities.
China: Although its holdings have fluctuated in recent years, China remains a significant holder of U.S. debt, with around $797.7 billion in holdings as of January 2024.
United Kingdom: The UK holds a considerable amount of U.S. debt, with estimates around $690.2 billion.
Luxembourg: Known for its role as a financial hub, Luxembourg holds about $402.0 billion in U.S. Treasuries.
Canada: Canada is another notable holder, with approximately $328.7 billion in U.S. debt.

countries need to have the USD in order to do international trade as the USD is the reserve currency. in order to hold USD, countries buy ‘debt’ from the US government so as to have USD in reserve for payments through places like the former BCCI (shut down due to criminal activity) and central banks. the USD is a ‘hard currency’ that is considered very safe. any currency can be used for international trade; no one want to hold anything that is even a little risky.

international trade (especially petro) is done in USD. the demand for USD for international trade and reserve holdings is, AT THIS MOMENT, almost a given for any country.

Two US Navy pilots shot down over Red Sea in apparent ‘friendly fire’ incident, US military says

Two U.S. Navy pilots were shot down Sunday over the Red Sea in an apparent “friendly fire” incident, the U.S military said, marking the most serious incident to threaten troops in over a year of America targeting Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

Both pilots were recovered alive after ejecting from their stricken aircraft, with one suffering minor injuries. But the shootdown underlines just how dangerous the Red Sea corridor has become over the ongoing attacks on shipping by the Iranian-backed Houthis despite U.S. and European military coalitions patrolling the area.

The U.S. military had conducted airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Houthi rebels at the time, though the U.S. military’s Central Command did not elaborate on what their mission was and did not immediately respond to questions from The Associated Press.

The F/A-18 shot down had just flown off the deck of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, Central Command said. On Dec. 15, Central Command acknowledged the Truman had entered the Mideast, but hadn’t specified that the carrier and its battle group was in the Red Sea.

“The guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, which is part of the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, mistakenly fired on and hit the F/A-18,” Central Command said in a statement.

From the military’s description, the aircraft shot down was a two-seat F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet assigned to the “Red Rippers” of Strike Fighter Squadron 11 out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the Gettysburg could mistake an F/A-18 for an enemy aircraft or missile, particularly as ships in a battle group remain linked by both radar and radio communication.

However, Central Command said that warships and aircraft earlier shot down multiple Houthi drones and an anti-ship cruise missile launched by the rebels. Incoming hostile fire from the Houthis has given sailors just seconds to make decisions in the past.

Were the “multiple Houthi drones and an anti-ship cruise missile” transmitting IFF codes designating them as friendly, like the F/A-18 undoubtedly was?

I’m guessing we’ll be seeing a story about a guided missile cruiser captain being relieved in the near future…

Made them before OK in England but deep fat fried them, not very shallow fried as my attempts here.

So I expect all the crew of USS Gettysburg to get combat action medals and to make things fair, at the medal award ceremony the two pilots of the F/A-18 shot down should be there to pin the medals on. Just to show there are no hard feelings….

We going to get his electricidad back on Monday, hopefully. This dealing with a supplier and the actual company that owns the wires is a nightmare here.

Anyway, 999 as an emergency number.

In years gone by when the telephone system was starting to be automatic using mechanical relays telephones could dial a number by shorting out the line coming to the phone in pulses. The exchange detected these pulses.

Wet tree branches and wind caused random shorts on telephone wires but not a big problem really as if a few pulses were detected on a line then if another pulse sequence was not there within a few seconds the equipment the exchange re-set.

Random pulses happened. BUT the chances of 9 pulses a space, nine more and a space and 9 more was a valid call.

So, that is why it is 999 or 911 in USA or 000 in Australia ten tree branch tickles, a pause ten more, a pause then ten more )

    0 is ten pulses
LOL it would be stupid if when you dial a “0” there are zero pulses on the line.

So, do you now need me to explain how modern telephone s work? Even your wireless phones?

The diddly boop beep bop bop beep thing they make when you dial.

DTMF as in Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency. Each number on your keypad is assigned two frequencies within the audio range that the telephone system can handle. That is how the telephone system knows what number you are dialing.

I noticed a few years ago that smart phones only do beep beep beep etc as you are dialing. A good thing.

In the old days anyone close enough to a phone you use that could record the beeps of the number you dialed could decode the beeps and see the number you dialed.

Texas Rep. Kay Granger, 81, found in memory care unit after she vanished from Washington 6 months ago: report

An elderly Texas member of Congress who has been missing from the Capitol for six months has been found in a nursing home that specializes in memory care, according to a report.

Longtime Republican Rep. Kay Granger, 81, has not cast a vote in Washington D.C. since July — despite the GOP’s super-slim majority in the chamber.

Her prolonged absence sparked concern among constituents in Texas’ 12th Congressional District, which is in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

Granger did not run for reelection in November, but her disappearance is especially significant given the tiny majority Republicans hold in the House — and the massive votes that are taking place, including the government spending bill — in the waning days of her tenure.

After calls to Granger’s offices were sent to voicemail, and her constituency office was found empty, a reporter at The Dallas Express received a tip that she had been staying at a memory care facility after being found lost and confused while wandering through her neighborhood.

Dallas Express reporters who visited the facility to confirm Granger’s residency and inquire about how she planned to vote on the spending bill were not permitted to speak with the congresswoman, according to the publication.

Employees, however, confirmed that Granger was living in the facility, the Express reported.

Taylor Manziel, the assistant executive director for the senior living facility, told the outlet, “This is her home.”

Local officials expressed their disappointment about Granger’s clear absence from Washington after representing her district since 1997.

Tarrant County Republican Chainman Bo French said the lack of representation during a crucial voting period in Congress was “troubling to say the least.”

“At a time when extraordinarily important votes are happening, including debt ceiling, disaster relief, farm bills and border issues, Kay Granger is nowhere to be found. The margin in Congress is razor thin and the lack of a Republican vote representing CD-12 disenfranchises 2 million people. We deserve better,” French said.

Biden Commutes 37 Death Sentences Ahead of Trump’s Plan to Resume Federal Executions

President Biden on Monday commuted the sentences of nearly all prisoners on federal death row, sparing the lives of 37 men just a month before Donald J. Trump will return to the Oval Office with a promise to restart federal executions.

Those affected by Mr. Biden’s action, all of whom were convicted of murder, will serve life imprisonment without the possibility of parole instead of facing execution. Only three men, who each carried out notorious mass killings, will remain on federal death row.

The president campaigned in 2020 on ending the federal death penalty. Although proposed legislation to that effect failed to advance in Congress during his administration, Mr. Biden directed the Justice Department to issue a moratorium on federal executions. Thirteen prisoners on federal death row were put to death during Mr. Trump’s first term.

“I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level,” Mr. Biden said in a statement on Monday. “In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.”

The three men who can still face federal execution are Robert D. Bowers, 52, who in 2018 gunned down 11 worshipers at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh; Dylann Roof, 30, the white supremacist who in 2015 opened fire on Black parishioners at a church in Charleston, S.C., killing nine people; and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 31, one of the two brothers who carried out the bombing of the Boston Marathon in 2013 that killed three and maimed more than a dozen others.

Liz Cheney needs to go to jail

    https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1871223737111953699.html

Oddly, Liz Cheney privately worried before Jan 6 that pipe bombs might disrupt the proceedings that day and force the evacuation of members of Congress.

She was so fearful (allegedly) that she and her influential GWB alum lawyer-husband called then acting AG Jeff Rosen to share their concerns.

Cheney was SO AFRAID of what might happen on Jan 6 that she hired a former Secret Service agent to accompany her to the Capitol that day. In her book, Cheney bragged about her family’s long ties to Secret Service agents–disgraced former director Kim Cheatle once served on Dick Cheney’s detail.

IRONICALLY (or not), Cheney’s predictions came true when 2 devices were discovered outside the DNC HQ and near the RNC HQ around the same time the joint session of Congress convened at 1pm.

    But even more ODD…
is the committee she led never investigated the presence of the pipe bombs. The 836-page J6 committee report she helped author devoted about 2 1/2 pages to the pipe bomb incidents and relegated it to the appendix.

    @ eaglesoars:

Have you seen the traffic camera video of the DNC building from that day? There are two different cameras that show that building. They’re basically never moved. But that morning, both cameras were mysteriously rotated about 45 degrees right before the pipe bomb was “discovered.” Quite the coincidence.

There’s a lot of outrage on X about the woman torched to death on the subway and how no one came to help her.

But I have to admit – I’m not at all sure I would have had the courage to risk catching myself on fire in order to help a stranger. I think my first thought would have been to get the hell out of that subway car to avoid fire.

Good discussion of the apparent friendly fire incident involving an F/A-18 over the weekend. It looks like the original information was incorrect (as usual). The plane that was hit was on final approach for landing after returning from a mission, not taking off. That certainly makes more sense, anyway. Also, the cruiser apparently fired TWO missiles, not one. The pilot of the second plane was able to dodge the missile targeting it:

    @ lobo91:
Good news is everyone on that ship will get a combat medal because they shot down what they were aiming at!

Bad news is some on the ship will get a courts martial because they shot down a friendly.

Even worse news is the other team that pressed the button to fire a missile at the second aircraft missed. They will need six months re-training.

Good news is the pilot avoided the missile aimed at him!

Bad news is he will never be able to wear that flight suit again, and it will take a lot of Clorox to get the plane’s seat clean.

Office of Homeland Security should look out the window, or even check any sites showing weather radar.

Current weather at the Possum weather station is very sunny, not a cloud in the sky and the weather predicting cats sunninng themselves on the balcony.

    HOWEVER!

TWICE?! The same night a U.S. Navy jet was shot down by friendly fire, an F/A-18 Super Hornet narrowly avoided a surface-to-air missile fired from USS Gettysburg. The missile missed by just 100 feet as the jet prepared to land on the Harry S. Truman.

You got a nice review. I got stuff like

Community feedback on BunkStrutts includes positive remarks about their travel recommendations, like their favorite hotel in London.

I think I was talking to Lucy D., not Grok.

Bunkessa returned from her trip and among other things she got a speeding ticket in London. Seems they have Climate Change laws and speed limits change depending on the time of day. She and SIL were on a freeway and didn’t know they were supposed to drive at 25 kph. Ticket was £30 ($37.73 USD).

    @ eaglesoars:

If you watch the video I posted above, it explains what happened (to the extent that we know).

The Gettysburg fired two SM-2 Standard missiles, one at each of two F/A-18s that were on final approach to the Truman. The one that was hit was almost directly over the Gettysburg. The second one was about 5 miles back, and had time to evade (barely).

The crew of the first plane actually ejected before being hit. They knew they had no chance of it missing, and a hit by an SM-2 is not survivable. It’s something like 1500 pounds, moving at Mach 3 or so.
