Holee Crapolee. You have to read this interview with Marc Andreeson.

[Andreessen:] And my only conclusion is what changed was basically the kids. In other words, the young children of the privileged going to the top universities between 2008 to 2012, they basically radicalized hard at the universities, I think, primarily as a consequence of the global financial crisis and probably Iraq. Throw that in there also. But for whatever reason, they radicalized hard.

Douthat: But when you say they radicalized, what did that mean for Silicon Valley? What did they want?

Andreessen: Revolution. What I now understand it to be historically is a rebirth of the New Left. So it’s very analogous….

It turned out to be a coalition of economic radicals, and this was the rise of Bernie Sanders, but the kids turned on capitalism in a very fundamental way. They came out as some version of radical Marxist, and the fundamental valence went from “Capitalism is good and an enabler of the good society” to “Capitalism is evil and should be torn down.”
    .
    .
Andreessen: Of course. So I had this moment with a senior executive, who I won’t name, but he said to me with a sense of dawning horror, “I think some of these kids are joining the company not with the intent of doing things for us but destroying us.”
    .
    .
We were able to meet with senior staff. So we met with very senior people in the White House, in the inner core.

We basically relayed our concerns about A.I., and their response to us was, “Yes, the national agenda on A.I. We will implement it in the Biden administration and in the second term. We are going to make sure that A.I. is going to be a function of two or three large companies. We will directly regulate and control those companies. There will be no start-ups. This whole thing where you guys think you can just start companies and write code and release code on the internet — those days are over. That’s not happening.”

We were shocked that it was even worse than we thought. We said, “Well, that seems really radical.” We said, “Honestly, we don’t understand how you’re going to control and ban open-source A.I., because it’s just math and code on the internet. How are you possibly going to control it?” And the response was, “We classified entire areas of physics during the Cold War. If we need to do that for math or A.I. going forward, we’ll do that, too.”
    .
    .
The political dimension of it, overwhelmingly. I mean, it was just crystal clear. You can see it in the eyes. You can see it in the words. You can hear it in the words. You can see it in the behavior. We have a lot of Democratic friends of good standing who are major donors in both the Biden campaign and even the Kamala Harris campaign. They came back with the same reports. It’s completely consistent, which is that social media was a catastrophic mistake for political reasons.

Because it is literally killing democracy and literally leading to the rearrival of Hitler. And A.I. is going to be even worse, and we need to take it right now. This is why I took you through the long preamble earlier, because at this point, we are no longer dealing with rational people. We’re no longer dealing with people we can deal with.

And that’s the day we walked out and stood in the parking lot of the West Wing and took one look at each other, and we’re like, “Yep, we’re for Trump.”

    @ eaglesoars:

This is pretty strange. Nobody seems to know who she is or why she was being held:

Belarus Releases Detained U.S. Citizen Anastasia Nuhfer, Says Washington

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on January 26 that American citizen Anastasia Nuhfer was released from a Belarusian prison.

Without offering details, Rubio wrote on X that Nuhfer had been detained during the presidency of Joe Biden and had been “unilaterally released” by Belarus.

Details surrounding Nuhfer’s detention remain unclear, with her name previously absent from public discourse. Minsk never disclosed her name, and Washington does not release the names of detained Americans abroad without the consent of their families.

Lithuania-based Belarusian opposition leader Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya welcomed Nuhfer’s release and highlighted the plight of political prisoners in Belarus under authoritarian ruler Alyaksandr Lukashenko.

“Thank you to our [American] friends for your advocacy on [Nuhfer’s] behalf and for all political prisoners in Belarus,” she wrote on X. “Every one of them must be freed. We will continue to fight for the release of all unjustly detained.”

Nuhfer’s release was announced on the same day that Belarus is holding a presidential election in which Lukashenko is set to secure a seventh term in office in a vote described as a “sham” by Western leaders.

Belarus has faced international criticism for its treatment of political prisoners and suppression of dissent.

Those checkpoints are on most of the Interstates and other major highways coming from the border. They tend to be about 50 miles inland, because that’s how far Mexican nationals are allowed to travel into the US without a visa. They’ve been closed for the last couple of years because the Border Patrol has been forced to pull all their people into the stations in order to process illegals to be released into the country.

Funds run by BlackRock Inc voted in favor of a recent shareholder proposal that would have required Tesla Inc to replace Elon Musk with an independent chairman.
BlackRock-managed funds voted for a measure requiring the chairman be an independent director, according to BlackRock’s filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday. The proposal, which was defeated, would not have affected Musk’s standing as Tesla’s chief executive officer.
“BlackRock’s approach to investment stewardship is driven by our fiduciary duties to our clients, the asset owners,” a BlackRock spokeswoman said in an emailed statement. “Our approach to engaging with companies and proxy voting activities is consistent with our commitment to drive long term shareholder value for our clients.”

What a mess. Somebody has got to do something about lithium batteries

“It is very likely that these batteries were not all consumed in the fire, so now they’re damaged, which means they’re all dangerous,” he said. Myers explained that the battery systems in hybrid and electric cars are well-protected, so even vehicles that were damaged by the fires may still have charged batteries.

Handling the batteries “requires a great deal of technical sophistication and care,” Calanog said. The EPA team must wear flame-resistant clothing underneath disposable protective suits. Masks cover their faces, and either come with insertable cartridges to filter out chemicals or attach to air tanks. The crew blocks off the area where it’s working and keeps water on site in case flames erupt.

Before they can be sent to a waste or recycling facility, the collected batteries must be de-energized so that they hold no charge or very little. To do that, Myers said, the EPA will likely use a process developed after the Maui wildfire in 2023, which involves submerging the batteries in a solution of saltwater and baking soda. Once the batteries have lost their charges, they can be crushed with a steamroller or shipped to a facility in special packaging.

The problem with creating a spreadsheet of the nutritional values of food is that one then tends to eat the same things repeatedly.

My spreadsheet is broken down into ingredients. So I can “build a meal”

Without being boring I know how many calories is in that meatloaf I made and then divided into four portions.

Soups and stews, I know what I put in the slow cooker, then when it is done I weigh the slow cooker pot, subtract 1250g which is the weight of the pot and I then know the nutritional values of the individual portions I made. Usually 3 or 4 portions per pot.

Point is, introducing more ingredients to my diet involves typing. But LMAO currently there is nothing I currently desire that is NOT in database.

I do not get takeaways delivered anymore because the math is to be honest a fucking nightmare. Except a Whataburger #1

Jt statement by GOP AK Sen Murkowski & Danish parliamentarian representing Greenland: The appeal of Greenland is easy to understand. It is strategically located for defense, shipping, and more. It is also a storehouse for all sorts of minerals, the building blocks of society that will determine who leads—and controls—the industries of the future. Of course, a businessman turned president would be interested. But Greenland is not for sale. The question has been asked and firmly answered by the government of Greenland, Naalakkersuisut. As legislators representing Greenland in Denmark and the United States, we see a better path forward. The United States, like Denmark, should recognize that the future will be defined by partnership, not ownership. To ensure our alliance reaches its full potential, Americans must view Greenland as an ally, not an asset. Open for business, but not for sale. From our work on Arctic Parliamentarians, we are certain that U.S. ambitions for national security can be achieved without altering Greenland’s autonomy. We see that in Pittufik Space Base. Dialogue and cooperation can strengthen our ties; diplomacy can pave the way for a relationship and alliance that fulfills our mutual interests.

Murkowski got played. Trump was never going to buy, invade or annex Greenland. He just wants access to the minerals and to keep China out. A business deal. Now these geniuses think it’s their idea

Oh and a casual cooking post.

    Monday groceries arrived!

A loaf of French bread, a can of Pringles, BBQ flavour, a five liter of Cabernet and a 30 pack of Busch light.

Now, to enjoy the Walmart $1 per loaf of fluffy bread it has to be eaten within a couple of days. No preservatives and shit.

Afternoon snack is going to be burgers. Well one quarter pound frozen beef patty carefully molded into two patties that fit the slices of French bread. To do that you let them thaw first, and add 1/2 ounce ( 14g in metric) of very finely chopped pepperoni.

Trust me, then for that single person burger experience you only need a quarter of a thinly sliced onion, four slices of the French bread, a restrained dolop of Mayo and a gentle squirt of ketchup.

OR, a can of chicken soup…..

J6 Defendant Details Horrific Abuse & Corruption He Suffered While Prosecuted Under Biden

A January 6 defendant who was pardoned by the Trump administration along with 1,500 other J6 political prisoners detailed the extensive corruption and abuse he endured during his prosecution.

J6 prisoner Michael Shane Daughtry, a former police officer and gunsmith who was put on house arrest by the Biden regime had his civil rights violated despite never setting foot inside the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

“I’m going to relay it in the exact same way that he wrote it out. Just when you think his story cannot get crazier, it does. His story is one of full-on corruption, and he exposes names,” Fields wrote.

    Daughtry’s account begins below:

My name is Michael Shane Daughtry and this is my January 6th Story.

I was a Police Officer with SWAT and Sniper Certifications, 20+ years Police experience and over a thousand hours of training. I’m also a Master Gunsmith with a Federal Firearms License and a Gunsmithing Business with over 10 years experience.

On January 6th 2021, I traveled to Washington DC with my wife Tammie to watch the Trump Rally. As the rally was completing, the President of the United States told the crowd to go to the West Lawn and “peacefully” protest, which we did. As we arrived at the West Lawn, the police officers removed the barricades and waved us onto the West Lawn. I had video of this but the FBI later raided my home and confiscated this Video. I never went into the Capital Building or damaged any property but I did later observe people causing damage to the Capital Building so I took a few pictures of these people and then returned to my motel room, we returned home the next morning.

On January 16th, I was charged with trespassing on the West Lawn on January 6th even though the President had ask me to go there and the police had moved the barricades and waved me onto the West Lawn.

The FBI contacted me around midnight and asked me to turn myself into the Federal Marshalls at the Federal Courthouse in Macon by 9:00 am the next morning. I voluntarily turned myself into the Federal Marshalls at the Federal Courthouse in Macon Ga. Upon arrival I was advised by Federal Marshalls that Pelham Police Investigator Adam Lamb, Assistant Chief Rod Williams and Chief Mccormick had turned me in to the FBI after finding out I was in DC.

In 2020 I was working as a Police Officer for the Pelham Police Department and also owned a Firearms Gunsmithing Company named “Cazy Coon Armory” My business was named after my pet Raccoon that was named Rocket but we always called him “Crazy Ole Coon”. On November 13th 2020, Pelham Police Department Investigator Adam Lamb had showed up to my home stating Police Cheif McCormack had fired me for having a Logo with a picture of a Racoon on it with the words “Crazy Coon Armory” telling me that the logo had the word “Coon” on it and that made it a Racist Logo. The police department said they didn’t know I had an outside business with that name even though it was on my resume and on my application for employment. I had also worked on several of of the Pelham Police Department weapons including pistols and full auto rifles at Crazy Coon Armory.

The paperwork they asked me to sign stated I was being fired for being a Racist. I refused to sign this separation letter. After I was fired, without even being giving a chance to resign, I decided to expose the Pelham Police Department and it’s very corrupt Chief for several of the crimes they had committed and were committing including insurance fraud, illegal gambling and cover ups. I was posting this corruption on my Facebook Page and the City of Pelhams Facebook Page every night which made the Police very angery and this was the reason for turning me into the FBI so they could silence me.

After the Marshalls read me this affidavit, I was put into a jail cell for several hours before being brought before a Federal Magistrate Judge. Even though I was a Law Enforcement Officer with no other criminal record, I was placed in handcuffs, leg irons and belly chains and was advised not to speak. And even though I’m a certified Law Enforcement Officer, have never been arrested or charged with any other crime in my life and had gotten up before daylight and driven over 100 miles to turn myself in, the judge advised me that I was a flight risk and ordered me to wear an ankle monitor, be place under House Arrest, placed on Pre Trial Probation, forced to post $25,000 bond and was placed on Tap 4 internet restrictions saying I couldn’t use any computers our internet. At that time I was not allowed to make a plea and was not allowed to plea until over 18 months later.

I was appointed a public defender without even being asked. I had a very experienced federal attorney that was willing to take my case for free but I was advised that I could not have an attorney of my choosing and could only hire an attorney from the Washington DC District that was certified to take cases in federal court in DC. The only attorney I could find meeting these requirements wanted over $100,000 plus $10,000 per hearing which I had 5, which would have been a total of $150,000.00 and my case isn’t even over yet.

Upon my release from jail late on January 16th, I returned home where my home and firearms business was immediately raided by Federal Agents that were waiting at my property. Numerous Federal Agents searched my home and property without a warrant and all my weapons and ammo were confiscated from my home and from my licensed firearms business, all for a crime that I would not lose my 2nd amendment rights even if I were convicted.

I was forced, with threat of prison, to give Federal Agents:
*My Email Passwords and User Info with written permission to access these accounts.
    *My Bank Account Passwords
*My Bank Account Numbers with written permission to access these accounts.
*My Safe Deposit Box Info with written permission to search this box
*All my Social Media User Names and Passwords with written permission to access accounts.
*I was not allowed to change any password or information without permission from the Federal Government.
*I’m not allowed to take out any new lines of credit without prior Government approval.
*I was forced to swear under oath that I did not have any money, firearms or other items buried anywhere or have any storage units.
*I was forced to swear under oath that I did not have any photographs or videos hidden or buried.
*I Was not allowed to possess any phone, camera or recording devices other than the one phone I was allowed by probation to have and the FBI took that phone the next day and kept it for weeks.
*I was forced, with threat of prison, to fill out a financial statement listing:
*My Checking account balances and passwords
*My Savings account balance and passwords
*Credit Card Balance, and account information and password.
*My vehicle loan information and value
*My Vehicle Tag #, Year, Make & Model
*My home loan information and home and property value.
*The amount of cash on hand.
    *The value of my clothes.
*The value of my home furnishings.
*Names, Addresses, Birthdays and Social Security Numbers of all my family members.
*Names, phone numbers and Addresses of my friends.
*Names, Addresses and Birthdays of any Ex Wives and Children.
Early the next morning Federal agents confiscated all my FFL files including my FFL Log Book and 4473 files. Later that day, my home was raided again by Federal Agents who confiscated my phone and searched all my computers and electronic devices. My phone was not returned for 2 weeks. I was under court order to not use any other phone or computer so I was without any communication with friends, family or my attorneys for two weeks. This also gave the Federal Government access to all my email and text message communications between my attorney and myself.
I was then forced to pay for home phone service and to pay for phone monitoring services and monthly fees for my ankle monitor.
Approximately a year later my home was again searched without a warrant and without any explanation and I was threated with a probation condition violation if I complained about the searches of my property and that a probation violation would have a 17 year felony sentence.
Three weeks later, my home was again raided and all my electronic devices including my phone, computer, thumb drives, hard drives and memory cards were searched then confiscated. My desktop computer was confiscated without explanation and Federal Agents said they didn’t know when my computer would be returned. This computer contained all the files needed to file my taxes that month, all my social security files I needed to file for my retirement benefits and all my private correspondence between my attorneys. This computer also contained all the software needed to run my business. My computer and phone were not returned for two weeks. When I received my phone back I noticed that all my pictures and videos that I had taken January 6th were missing including the video evidence I had of the Capital Police removing barriers and waving me onto the West Lawn of the Capital that I was charged with trespassing on. I also noticed my FFL Digital Logbook had been removed from my computer and my FFL Logbook backup files had been removed from my Google Drive Account that I had been forced to give the login information. Federal Agents had already taken my hardcopy FFL Logbook and 4473 files in a previous search of my firearms business so they now had all my FFL Files not even leaving me a copy.
Even though I’ve only been charged with a non violent, misdemeanor crime, I’ve been on house arrest for almost two years for a crime that carries a maximum punishment of less than a year. I have not been allowed to plea in this case.
When I asked about my 6th Amendment right to a speedy trial, I was advised by Federal Court Judge Randolph D. Moss that the Sixth Amendment had been suspended due to Covid-19 and the large number of arrest made from the January 6th incident. The Sixth Amendment also gives me the right to a Fair Trial, does this mean I didn’t have the right to a fair trail either? I’m not sure how a Federal Court Judge can legally suspend one of the Bill of Rights.
In June 2022, I was told by prosecutors that I could plea guilty to Trespassing on the Grass or face going to court in Washington DC on several other (made up) felony charges that they knew I had not committed. So because I had no chance of a fair trail and facing several false charges, I was forced to plead guilty to Trespassing on the Restricted West Lawn. My plea agreement stated the maximum amount of probation I could receive would be one year but for this non violent misdemeanor crime, I was sentenced to:
1: Two additional months of House Arrest with Location Monitoring for a total of 18 months.
2: Three additional years of Supervised Federal Probation with travel restrictions for a total of 4 years and 8 months of Supervised Federal Probation even though the plea agreement I had signed stated a maximum of 1 year probation.
3: Firearm Confiscation and Restrictions in clear violation of my 2nd amendment rights.
4: Mandatory random drug testing even though I have no drug history. I have passed all these tests.
5: Mandatory mental health evaluation, even though I have no mental health history. I passed this test.
6: $525.00 in restitution for damage to the Capital Building even though I never entered or even touched the Capital Building. I paid this fine.
7: 60 hours of community service. I completed all the community service.

    @ eaglesoars:
    @ lobo91:
    @ coldwarrior:
After my sentencing, my home was again searched by a Federal Probation Agent who searched backpacks, closed closets, closed drawers, including my girlfriends underwear drawers even though they had a court order advising that Probation Agents could only take illegal items that are “In Plain Sight”.
My home has now been searched 7 times in 4 years. It’s been searched by the FBI, the Federal Marshalls, the DOJ, and Federal Probation several times. Everyone always come wearing SWAT vests and heavily armed even though the only crime I’ve ever been accused of is illegally walking on the grass.
The government then, using a fake name and phone number, attempted to send firearms to my FFL business through http://www.guns. on two different occasions in one week. I recognized this persons voice as Assistant U.S. Attorney Graciela Rodriguez Lindberg. Another person then, using another fake name and number called asking if they could bring a firearm to my business for an appraisal. I recognized this person’s voice as my probation officer even though he was giving me another name. I told the person that I could not look at the gun and advised him that my business was closed. I also lied and told this person that I was out of state at the time so they would leave me alone. I’m on travel restrictions and can’t go out of state so my probation officer almost immediately called and asked my location and when I told him I was home, a person stating he had just spoken to to me about the gun appraisal arrived at my home even though I had refused to look at the gun and had told him I was out of state. This person had a different voice, was extremely pushy and would not take no for an answer even when I told him several more times that I couldn’t look at his firearm. This person then opened his vehicle trunk stating he was going show the gun to me anyway. At this time I drove away on my off road buggy leaving him at my home. When I later returned home this person was gone.
I was then contacted by Police Officer Safety & Training Officials stating my law enforcement certification is being revoked for not reporting my arrest to them even though the federal government had taken my phones, computers, I had federal imposed internet restrictions and was on house arrest with no way to contact POST. Also the Federal Agents who confiscated my phones and computers advised me they would contact P.O.S.T. for me because of all my communication restrictions.
Now I’ve been contacted by the Department of Justice stating they were processing my request for a refund on my FFL renewal even though I haven’t requested a refund. The D.O.J. then contacted me by phone and stated my Federal Firearms License is being revoked even though I haven’t committed any crime that would prevent me from possessing a firearm or FFL.
Today I was contacted by my probation officer stating the ATF had contacted him stating that the ATF had requested me to send my FFL files to the ATF and that I had not responded to their request. I hadn’t received any requests from the ATF and can’t understand why they contacted my probation officer. The ATF has my phone number, Email Address, Mailing Address, and Physical Address that’s required for my FFL, I’m very easy to contact. Even though the ATF field officer is required to do regular inspections of my FFL Business, I haven’t be contacted by the field officer since I was arrested three years ago and the only correspondence I’ve had with the ATF was a letter in February 2023 stating I owed them $90 for my FFL renewal. I sent this letter back with a check which they cashed.
Today the ATF Agent contacted me stating my FFL renewal was denied because I failed a background check and stated I was now a convicted felon and could never own a firearm again. After notifying my attorney, the agent called back the next day stating that the FBI had “accidentally mis-coded” my case into the computer and I was not a felon or restricted person but they refused to give my FFL back even though they now had no reason to deny me. The ATF advised me that I was required by law the send them all my FFL Files. I advised the agent that all my FFL Files had been confinscated the day after my arrest.
Now I’ve been contacted by an ATF Agent who stated he couldn’t find any agency that would admit taking my files and then threatened me several times with felony charges for Retention of Files for not returning 4473 files that the government had already confinscated 3 years previous. I advised the ATF that my files had been confinscated previously by two unknown government agents who took my files and left without identifying themselves or giving me any paperwork. The ATF Agent called me a liar several times and every time he called me a liar, I hung up on him. I advised the agent that I would try to find a backup copy of my digital log book somewhere but I was going out of state to take my wife to court as a witness in an unrelated case for about a week and that I had court approval for this trip. A few days later I traveled to court about 5 hours away in Tuscaloosa Alabama and asked my neighbor, who is a Newton Georgia Police Officer, to watch my property and feed our animals until we returned home. On the third day out of state, I received a notification from my security system stating my power had been off but was back on. I was told by authorities that the power had went out for about 30 minutes in the entire city of Newton for an unknown reason. I looked at my security cameras to check on my home and animals and noticed a package holding my storm door partially open and it had been placed there while the power and my cameras were out. I asked the officer to check the package and asked if he would make sure someone hadn’t mailed a firearm to my home FFL for repair because I’m restricted from possessing firearms. The officer stated that the box didn’t have a shipping label and appeared to contain FFL files and folders. It appears that the Federal Agents (DOJ, I believe) who illegally took my files got scared of all the inquiries and returned my files. The only markings on this box was my federal case number. The Officer took the FFL files into evidence, put them into the evidence room at Newton Police Department and contacted the ATF Agent. The next day the officer called me to say he had notified the ATF about recovering the files and that the ATF Agent was going to recover the files from the police department. The ATF continued to threaten me with felony charges of Retention of Files even after the files were recovered by the ATF Agent.
I’ve contacted my court appointed attorney’s office 6 times over the past year advising them that I needed to speak with my attorney with no response other than the secretary advising me that the attorney is very busy.
It’s now September 2024 and my home has again been searched by the Federal Government who again found nothing illegal in my home.
On January 30th 2024, I contacted my attorney’s office and asked for a transcript of my motion for a speedy trial. During this previous hearing, I was advised that I didn’t have the right to a fair and speedy trial because the 6th Amendment had been suspended by the Federal Court because of Covid and the large number of arrest during January 6th. My attorney’s secretary told me that there was no transcript because the judge said there was no court reporter during this hearing and the video of the proceedings are not available to the public. I was also warned at the beginning of that Speedy Trial hearing that it was a Federal Felony for me to record my own hearing.
This is the type of government corruption that all January 6th defendants have faced and if they can do this to me then they can do it to you one day also. This is just 1 of over 1500 similar stories with many of them much, much worst than mine.
    January 20th 2025
President Donald Trump issued Me and 1500 other January 6th defendants a Full Presidential Pardon.

    Somewhere Stalin is smiling!

    The power of advertising.

While watching TV shows on Tubi, Peacock, Paramount, Pluto etc every 15 minutes or so there adverts.

Drugs to make my penis big and strong, drugs to make flaky skin go away, drugs to make my hair grow, drugs to make my HIV undetectable, cheap car insurance, online gambling, and buying a car online and choosing my down payment and monthly payment!

The food ones are the worst, sick of seeing Olive Garden new mash and chicken one, the Taco Bell and Jack in the box burgers.

At 1:30am no way am I able to get any of the food adverts products delivered, but I worked in that industry. The adverts subliminally implant a desire at times you cannot get the product so when you are able, as in when the stores are open, you will buy them.

Supper time is soon, and what am I going to have? All that money companies wasted trying to get me to eat their products and which one won?

    Food post.

Looks like supper is going to be grilled cheese sandwiches, in skillet on low.

If I used an ounce of sharp cheddar thinly sliced of a block to make my sandwich then there would be zero fiber added due to the cheese.

If I used pre shredded sharp cheddar then I would be eating 1 gram of fiber!

Why does shredded cheese contain fiber?

    A nutritional post.

Just do a 24 hour log of everything you eat. and not the calories, fat, protein and carbs thing but the other stuff.

We start with Iron. It is usually on the bottom of the nutritional label as a percentage of daily requirement.

Steak! It is meat and blood. Iron!

To get your daily needed intake of Iron then eating 680g aka 1.49914338 pounds per day of steak will do it.

    Want fries with that?

I know you are really wanting to know why shredded cheddar has fiber.

It either has potato fiber or sawdust from trees mixed in with it to stop the shreds sticking together and making a clumpy mess in the plastic sack it lives in.

NASA and everyone involved decided to carry on as normal. The two “stranded” astronauts took over the experiments etc of the two left behind to make seats available for a February return.

Little known fact, when a new 4 person crew arrives at the ISS there is a few days before the returning crew departs. They do a handover.

    uh oh

To defend and burnish Tulsi Gabbard’s image as her political star was rising, her congressional campaign hired a public-affairs firm in 2017 that tried to suppress coverage of an alleged pyramid scheme connected to her Hindu sect, according to interviews, emails and Federal Election Commission records.

Gabbard, a former House member who is now President Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, was raised in the Science of Identity Foundation, a sect tied to a direct-marketing firm accused of running a pyramid scheme in several countries. Neither Gabbard, the sect nor the firm, QI Group, wanted the relationships scrutinized.

Gabbard’s campaign paid Washington, D.C.,-based Potomac Square Group for the PR cleanup, trying to mask the connections. But the operation was directed by a Science of Identity follower—and longtime Gabbard adviser—who sits on the board of a QI subsidiary.

The revelations shed further light on Gabbard’s ties to the religious group—publicly described by some former followers as a cult that demands total loyalty to its founder—and to the Hong Kong-based QI, which has been a target of criminal and civil cases alleging fraud and racketeering in at least seven countries.

Lawmakers have looked closely at Gabbard’s connections with Science of Identity and QI ahead of her confirmation hearing Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee, according to people familiar with the matter. Gabbard’s ties raise questions about her judgment and loyalty, congressional staffers said.

Gabbard and many of her former Capitol Hill staffers are followers of the sect, people with knowledge of the matter said. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, has called Chris Butler, the sect’s leader, her “guru dev,” a Hindu term that is frequently translated as divine teacher.

Science of Identity is entwined with QI, according to real-estate and corporate records, as well as interviews with former followers. Sunil Khemaney, who serves on the board of one of QI’s subsidiaries, is a longtime political fundraiser for Gabbard. She has described him as an “uncle.”

Trump nominated Gabbard for one of the most sensitive roles in the federal government. Senate confirmation would give the 43-year-old former lawmaker the task of coordinating the work of all U.S. spy agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and the intelligence branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Gabbard’s parents are followers of Butler, a former Hare Krishna disciple who founded Science of Identity Foundation in Hawaii in the 1970s. They raised Gabbard in the group, said former followers, who described Butler’s demands of fealty. Some adherents mixed Butler’s toenail clippings into their meals, two former followers said, as a sign of devotion. Others used his shoes as prayer totems, they said.

A spokeswoman for the sect declined to respond to questions, accusing The Wall Street Journal of “falsehoods, half-truths, and misrepresentations.” A QI spokeswoman said the company and its principals “refute any connection with Tulsi Gabbard.”

“The QI Group has no knowledge of, and has had no involvement in the Congressional Campaign of Ms. Gabbard,” the spokeswoman said.

Christopher Cooper, Potomac’s managing director, said the campaign hired Potomac for help managing “online attacks related to her religion” and didn’t seek to conceal Gabbard’s relationship with Butler. Potomac worked separately for the sect on media strategy, he said, “with no involvement from the Gabbard campaign.”

Gabbard’s relative inexperience in national intelligence, as well as her past support for regimes in Russia and Syria, has raised concern among some national-security officials and lawmakers. Gabbard served two years on the House Homeland Security committee.

Gabbard seemed confused about a key U.S. national-security surveillance power in recent meetings with Senate Republicans. GOP lawmakers are expected to support her nomination.

Trump said Gabbard “will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength,” in his statement announcing her nomination.

A spokeswoman in the Trump administration responded on behalf of Gabbard to emailed inquiries from the Journal by posting screenshots of the email to her X account on Friday, calling the questions and Journal findings “Hinduphobic smears and other lies about” Gabbard.

In a follow-up email, the spokeswoman said Gabbard would “speak truth to power and isn’t afraid to take on rogue bureaucrats and those who politicize the [intelligence community], and this is why President Trump nominated her.”

    ‘Ponzi scheme’
Science of Identity adherents believe that to achieve peace, they must break from worldly desires. Followers abstain from eating meat, taking drugs, drinking alcohol, gambling and having sex outside of marriage, according to former followers.

The group discourages relationships with anyone outside the group, which operates in Hawaii, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. It also has run sect-affiliated schools in Hawaii and the Philippines.

Butler, the sect’s leader, enforces a rigid hierarchy among followers, who are assigned a letter grade. A small number of people who work directly for Butler are designated with the letter A. They are the only followers allowed close physical proximity to Butler or to anything he touches, two former disciples said.

“It’s a cult,” said Lalita Mann, a former follower. “You’ve got a charismatic leader who is seen as a messiah figure…the only pathway to salvation.”

Science of Identity has described such characterizations as anti-Hindu bigotry.

Followers who attain a certain status in the group are initiated in a ceremony and given a new name, former disciples said. At least four former adherents said they believe that Gabbard was initiated and received the name Shraddha Dasi.

Science of Identity and QI have been linked since at least 2007, when QI purchased Healthy’s, the parent company of the sect-affiliated Down to Earth grocery store chain.

Sect followers founded and operated the chain, which has six locations in Hawaii. Down to Earth didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Oh this would be GREAT! Roseanne Barr has come up with a new show she wants to get made

The new series, which will star Barr and be four to six episodes in line with the U.K. comedy format, is “a cross between ‘The Roseanne Show’ and ‘The Sopranos,’” she says, and centers on a small-town farmer in Alabama who is “saving the United States from drug gangs and China.” The protagonist dabbles in growing and selling drugs like cannabis and magic mushrooms.

“It’s silly and out there,” she says. “[It will contain] very offensive ideas and a lot of swearing. I live with my daughter and her husband and their six children on a farm. And they have goats running through their house and stuff. It’s based on my life as a farmer in Hawaii. They save America with guns, the Bible, petty crime and alcoholism. It’s kind of like the Coen brothers thing.”

    yep, we were right!

LA law requires that Pacific Palisades rebuilding after fires must include low-income housing

In the city of Los Angeles, which includes the Pacific Palisades — a “High Opportunity Area” — all apartment buildings built before October 1978 are subject to the city’s rent control ordinance, which means all units in such buildings would need to be replaced with units “affordable” to lower-income renters even if the existing tenants were high income.
    .
    .
“Under the Resident Protections Ordinance, in most cases landlords will be required to replace apartments burned down in the Palisades with low income units,” said Los Angeles Housing Production Institute director Joseph Cohen on X. “Displaced residents will then find themselves ineligible to return because they won’t meet the income requirements.”

A boring post. Walmart delivered my pot roast ingredients yesterday and today the numbers are in.

Unfortunately no pictures this time as it was raining yesterday so did not walk to by strange onions, used a course chopped yellow onion instead.

Ingredients are enough for 4 little slow cooker batches of stew. 2lbs beef, 8oz mushrooms, 1lb baby carrots and 24oz bag of expensive baby yellow potatoes. Plus McCormick slow cooker mix, half a pack per batch, and tomato powder.

Anyway, first batch was 300g beef, 200g onion, fuck weighing four button mushrooms, 100g carrots and 100g potatoes ( six cut in half )

Spreadsheet says that 968 calories entered the slow cooker.

Results were slow cooker weighed 2130g, then subtract weight of pot at 1250g gives me 880g of stew. About 1.94006791 pounds.

So, today meal will probably be half of the pot! I is hungry. Almost 1 pound of stew!

    About 500 calories…..

Fleet of abandoned ships is growing, leaving more sailors stuck at sea

More ships than ever are being abandoned around the world by their owners, according to the United Nations’ labor and maritime organizations, leaving thousands of workers stuck on board without pay or the means to travel home to their families.

    A food post.

Supper is going to be a 1/4 burger and 200g of boiled baby yellow potatoes.

The potatoes are going to be halved then sautéed in the burger grease. Sauté is French for jump.

Translate jump to French here. I knows French. You put shit in a very hot skillet and it jumps around.
    https://translate.google.com/?sl=en&tl=fr&text=jump&op=translate

Anyway, that is not the reason for this post. Reason is manufacturers make many different variants of products. Food, my frozen burgers are labeled as 80/20. But this 4lb bag has very little to no fat!

Hey I got premium beef cheaper! But going to have to ass coconut oil to the skillet to fry my potatoes.

It is the same with Integrated circuits/silicon chips/CPUs whatever you want to call them.

They manufacture a batch of them. Make sure they work at normal speeds, then take some and test them at higher speeds, stamp them with a different part number and sell them for $200 more.

That does not mean the ones left behind and cheaper cannot go faster! They are just not tested at a higher speed.

Hence, the whole thing about “overclocking” in the PC world. Just because the part number says it cannot don’t mean it can’t.

So my point. The place where my ground beef was packaged makes 73/27 and 80/20 and 93/7 I got a great deal!

Bought 80/20 and got way more leaner beef patties. Overclocking them, but have to ADD fat.

    Cooking is fun…..

It may look boring at this point. Heat was on very low just to thaw the burger, now 8g of coconut oil was added and the meal is on standby, as in heat off.

When I am hungry heat goes on full to brown the burger and potatoes, then they come out of the pan and set aside. Into the pan will go four or five thin sliced button mushrooms, onion powder and sage. Due to the severe lack of fat from the supposedly 80/20 burger we going to need another 8g coconut oil.

Once mushrooms are cooked heat off and 62g of Good Value ( Walmart ) Alfredo will be added to the hot pan to make a mushroom sauce.

That sauce will be poured over the beef and potatoes in an artistic way.

It really looks like it all comes down to altitude. The Black Hawk was apparently too high. The fact that it was flying past that runway is normal for that area. Military helicopters routinely fly up and down the Potomac when traveling in and out of DC. If you look at a map, they have to cross the flight path of the runways at DCA, because they all point toward the river.

One of the crazy theories people have been posting is that the helicopter deliberately crashed into the plane. That one apparently got its start from people looking at the radar track of the two aircraft. If you look at just the diagram that shows the flight paths, it does actually look like the helicopter was maneuvering toward the plane, as if to hit it. When you superimpose the radar track over a map, though, it becomes apparent that the helicopter was just following the river, as it was supposed to. It just happens that the river doesn’t go in a straight line.

It watered down the air traffic control aptitude test multiple times for the stated purpose of increasing Air Traffic Control(ATC) diversity, until finally a questionable character self-assessment was worth far more than the ability to understand flight paths and intersecting angles.

Under both the Obama and Biden Administrations, the FAA was influenced by DEI fanatics to change its air traffic control hiring process. Rather than stick with the science, the agency used an ATC aptitude test – if it can even be called that – that prioritized skin color and sex over actual competence.

During the Obama Administration more than 2000 qualified & vetted men and women were lined up to become air traffic controllers. They’d demonstrated their competence and eagerness to protect the American skies and were just waiting on orders from the government. The order that came was to remove them from the ATC queue altogether. The reason: Obama’s FAA decided they weren’t racially diverse enough.

The Obama Administration threw out the results of an ATC aptitude test proven to select the best candidates in favor of a 10 minute self-assessment that had zero guardrails against cheating and even less to do with air traffic. Anyone who failed according to the FAA’s secret scoring system was denied the job, no matter how highly they’d scored on the actual ATC aptitude test.

In the name of DEI, Obama’s FAA instituted an air traffic control hiring exam that awarded applicants points for being bad at science in high school, being unemployed, and having below average communication skills. The candidates who were actually qualified to be ATCs but were denied the chance to protect American skies because they didn’t pass this sham test sued to correct the injustice, but the Biden admin championed the DEI cause in court with even greater ferocity.

Back in 2013 the Obama Administration promised a “historic transformation” of the FAA. To make our skies safer? To become more technologically advanced? To study flight patterns of the busiest airspace? Obama’s promise was to make air traffic control a more diverse and inclusive workforce, and Biden doubled down on it.

Talent and experience for these jobs is a long pipeline. Losing so many qualified applicants out of only 14,000 Air Traffic Controllers, and losing potentially countless applicants since, has resulted in chronic staffing shortages and serious overtime.

No sane American cares about ATC sex and skin color, because they know it’s an obsession that, as I predicted many times last year and as recently as 2 weeks ago, would result in tragedy.

Ward Carroll has an interesting video exploring the DCA crash, including insights from a Coast Guard helicopter pilot who has reportedly flown that corridor “thousands” of times. It sounds like the change of runway for the CRJ may have been a factor in why the helicopter crew was looking at the wrong plane. Normally, airliners land on Runway 1, but this one was diverted to Runway 33 (which the helicopter crew wouldn’t have known, because they were on a different frequency). They were probably looking for a plane landing on 33.

I was listening to an interview with a pilot who’s familiar with that aircraft. It was climbing through 1600 feet when it went down. That’s apparently right where the pilot would have been reducing power after takeoff. They speculated that it might have been a catastrophic engine failure, which would explain the fire. And that’s a plane with an engine on either side of the fuselage just forward of the tail, so if an engine let go, it could have severed control lines to the tail.

Yep I know, you can file a flight plan and not do it.

Also I understand Flightradar24 flight plans and previous flights may not be accurate.

    31 Jan 2025 Philadelphia (PNE) — (XAUCI) — — — —
    Scheduled
    31 Jan 2025 Philadelphia (PNE) Springfield (SGF) MTS56 — 5:00 PM — 7:42 PM
    Unknown
    31 Jan 2025 Miami (OPF) Philadelphia (PNE) MTS56 2:17 12:30 PM 12:00 PM 3:09 PM
    Landed 2:17 PM
    30 Jan 2025 Port-au-Prince (PAP) Miami (OPF) MTS51 1:53 6:40 PM 6:40 PM 8:32 PM
    Landed 8:32 PM
    30 Jan 2025 Fort Lauderdale (FXE) Port-au-Prince (PAP) MTS51 1:42 3:00 PM 3:10 PM 4:46 PM
    Landed 4:52 PM

Usually aircraft fly from A to B then take off from B and go to C etc.

Aircraft was due out of Philadelphia (PNE) at 5:00pm to go to Springfield (SGF) due to arrive at 7:42 PM but never did that flight.

Looking at the pattern of flights that jet was one of these re-patriation aircraft. Not taking emergency patients to the nearest trauma center like the helicopters do but taking injured but stable patients home .

That would be more of a helicopter thing. Pretty sure nobody’s trying to fly a Lear 55 under power lines. And there wouldn’t be any reason to rush a patient from Philadelphia to Missouri, anyway. I’d imagine that they have perfectly good hospitals there.

    This is very cool

With generative AI, MIT chemists quickly calculate 3D genomic structures

A new approach, which takes minutes rather than days, predicts how a specific DNA sequence will arrange itself in the cell nucleus.

Every cell in your body contains the same genetic sequence, yet each cell expresses only a subset of those genes. These cell-specific gene expression patterns, which ensure that a brain cell is different from a skin cell, are partly determined by the three-dimensional structure of the genetic material, which controls the accessibility of each gene.

MIT chemists have now come up with a new way to determine those 3D genome structures, using generative artificial intelligence. Their technique can predict thousands of structures in just minutes, making it much speedier than existing experimental methods for analyzing the structures.

Using this technique, researchers could more easily study how the 3D organization of the genome affects individual cells’ gene expression patterns and functions.

She is not “stranded” it is a NASA choice not to return her to Earth.

BREAKING: The LA Times, the largest news site in California, just released an article confirming that President Trump’s orders are entirely responsible for the massive new water flow into Californian cities.

    – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers abruptly increased the amount of water flowing from two California dams.
    – After President Trump signed an order calling for increased water deliveries.

    – Local water managers, who were caught off-guard by the decision, said they convinced Army Corps officials to release less water than originally planned.
☝️In other words, Democrat leaders in California deliberately screwed the people over.

The next time you Liberal Californians turn on your showers or drink water, please take a moment to thank God for giving you Trump to undo the damage the Democrats have done to your state.

DELETED: GSA’s tech arm, a far-left agency that viciously subverted Trump during his first term, surrendered after an @elonmusk deputy took over. It deleted huge swaths of code dedicated to virtue-signaling rather than mission, such as its “inclusion bot” that lectured staff.

just read the thread. I’m convinced that all these people who claim to be anything other than straight male/female or lesbian/gay are actually insane. And altho the drugs they may have been given during their ‘transition’ phase may play a role, anyone claiming to be ‘trans’ is actually so mentally ill they need to be locked up

Lastly you THEN Communicate with ATC because they aren’t inside your aircraft and can only talk, and more often that not can do squat to stop you from Dying almost every time.

This is all about PRIORITIES. Do the most important stuff to NOT die. After surviving you THEN get around to telling ATC. Talking doesn’t take the place of DOING something to NOTend up DYING.

I have been there five times on large airplanes and I talked ATC AFTER doing ‘pilot shit first’ to NOT DIE , then you can chat to your hearts consent with the ATC lady who has been trying to distract you from doing your pilot shit with the Blah…blah … blah ATC type shit.

Yup that is an anomaly that happened, I believe when during the WWII war in the Pacific whilst ‘island hopping’ most of the engineering staff operating earth moving vehicles were CIVILIANS on contract building airstrips on islands under fire quite often. The DoD for reasons known only to themselves seemed to like it that way as highly skilled heavy equipment operators would be hired on a case by case specialist basis, because it made sense financially and operationally. It never did change.

Command helicopter pilots sit in the RIGHT seat (starboard) whereas command pilots of fixed wing airplanes sit in the LEFT seat. The ATC hire in the Reagan tower was doing two jobs because the other ATC person in the tower went home early. So the guy left with two jobs had to remember that the command pilots were sitting in opposite seats Port side (left) for the airliner and Starboard side (right) for the helicopter. Did anyone working in staff scheduling think about cutting staffing levels in ways that incorporated cutting safety standards that had an effect of preventing pilot flying was being visually masked from conflicting traffic?

As with almost ALL fatals it’s the ‘cock up load’ eventually kicks in and deaths eventually becomes inevitable!

The myth surrounding why chopper command pilots on the right (Starboard seat) was supposed when Sikorsky was the lead helicopter instructor who trained all of the brand new chopper instructors as helicopters started to be operated. And Sikorsky sat in the Nominal Command seat on the left, as the first of the very few core instructors to keep an eye on the new first batch of chopper instructors and the Right seat became the chopper Command Seat forever more!

Update on my fear I has a brain tumor. Did I mention that here?

On closer investigation today it appears my symptoms are caused by the apartment two doors down leaving their trash bags outside for a couple of weeks.

    Phantosmia (Olfactory Hallucinations)

In most cases, phantosmia isn’t a cause for concern and will go away in time. However, in rare instances, it could indicate a more serious health condition, such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke or a brain tumor.

Been smelling bananas for weeks! No bananas inside my apartment. Banana smell comes and goes randomly. BRAIN TUMOR!!!!!

Appears neighbor moved out, someone cleaned the place and left all their trash outside.

When they moved out they left their bananas behind.

I knows science, and bananas and Ethane.

Bought three tomatoes last week, they were on the firm and green red side of ripe. Sensible purchase. However a week later they are still rock hard and a green/red.

Ethane is a gas that hastens ripening of fruits. It is naturally produced by ripe fruits. As in rotten bananas!

Now, if I sneaked next door, stole a rotting banana, put it in a brown paper bag with my tomatoes then tomorrow I will have nice ripe tomatoes for a salad.

It is good to have a plan.

    https://www.weekand.com/home-garden/article/ripen-tomatoes-bananas-18022625.php

The tomato fruit (Solanum lycopersicum) becomes mature when it reaches full size. The last stage for tomato growth is ripening – when the fruit changes color, softens and develops the flavor, texture and aroma that is perfect for eating. Ripening the tomato with a banana (Musa spp.) during the final stages of its growth and development cycle will speed up the process.

That is how the silly decorative banana hook hangers actually do work to slow down your bananas getting all spotty and turning mushy.

They allow air flow around your bananas and dissipate the Ethane gas so they don’t ripen each other.

Ideally when you buy a bunch of bananas separate them and place each one in a separate room!

Actually the gas is Ethylene but I got it wrong and nobody fact checked me.

Ethane is C2H6 Ethylene is C2H4 which means it has an unsaturated hydrocarbon with a double bond between its carbon atoms, classifying it as an alkene.

That makes it do the banana ripening thing.

President Trump said he ordered precision air strikes on Saturday morning targeting a “senior ISIS Attack planner” and others the unnamed individual recruited and led in Somalia.

“These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies,” Trump posted on social media. “The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians.”

Trump did not name the individual who was targeted in the strike. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said multiple individuals were killed in the strike and that no civilians were harmed in the operation, which took place in the Golis mountains.

So, their new strategy is to become even nastier? Good luck with that

Dems elect Ken Martin to lead their anti-Trump strategy

Ken Martin, a longtime Democratic tactician and Minnesota state party leader, was elected chair of the Democratic National Committee on Saturday, calling for Democrats to take a more pugilistic stand against a Republican-controlled Washington as the party seeks to rebuild following its losses in November.

“This is a new DNC,” he told reporters after his election. “We’re taking the gloves off.”

Martin said, “I’ve always viewed my role as a chair of the Democratic Party to take the low road, so my candidates and elected officials can take the high road, meaning, I’m going to throw a punch.”

Martin, chair of Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, defeated Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Wikler on the first ballot, earning 246.5 votes out of the 428 cast. Wikler received 134.5 votes.

Martin, well known to party insiders but with little national profile, will now lead Democrats into the second Donald Trump administration, helming a party still sorting through the wreckage of 2024. It’s a precarious moment for the party, which has been left with no clear national leader or strategy on how to push back on Trump’s agenda.

But if Democrats are in need of an overhaul, this month’s DNC contest hardly suggested as much. The election wasn’t defined by ideological differences or big-name candidates. Martin and Wikler, the two leading candidates, largely agreed with each other on committing to rebuilding a permanent campaign infrastructure and reinvesting in state parties. Neither candidate promised radical reforms to the party.

    STATEMENT FROM THE LOBACH FAMILY:

We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Rebecca. She was a bright star in all our lives. She was kind, generous, brilliant, funny, ambitious and strong. No one dreamed bigger or worked harder to achieve her goals.

Rebecca began her career in the United States Army as a distinguished military graduate in ROTC at the University of North Carolina, and was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide. She achieved the rank of Captain, having twice served as a Platoon Leader and as a Company Executive Officer in the 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. With more than 450 hours of flight time, she earned certification as a pilot-in-command after extensive testing by the most senior and experienced pilots in her battalion.

Rebecca was a warrior and would not hesitate to defend her country in battle. But she was as graceful as she was fierce: in addition to her duties as an Army aviator, Rebecca was honored to serve as a White House Military Social Aide, volunteering to support the President and First Lady in hosting countless White House events, including ceremonies awarding the Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Rebecca cared about people, and she extended to individuals the same fearless defense she gave to this nation. She was proud of the difference she made as a certified Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Victim Advocate and hoped to continue her education so she could serve this country as a physician when her time with the Army ended. She once said, “My experiences with SHARP have reinforced my resolve to serve others with compassion, understanding, and the resources necessary for healing.”

Rebecca was many things. She was a daughter, sister, partner, and friend. She was a servant, a caregiver, an advocate. Most of all, she loved and was loved. Her life was short, but she made a difference in the lives of all who knew her. Our hearts break for the other families who have lost loved ones in this national tragedy and we mourn with them.

We request that you please respect our privacy as we grieve this devastating loss.

Notice of Removal from Federal Service

This letter provides official notice that you are being removed from your position at the Department of Justice, and from the federal service, effective immediately.
As President Trump declared on his first day back in office, “[t)he American people have witnessed the previous administration engage in a systematic campaign against its perceived political opponents, weaponizing the legal force of numerous Federal law enforcement agencies… against those perceived political opponents in the form of investigations, prosecutions, civil enforcement actions, and other related actions.” Nowhere was that effort more salient than in the unprecedented prosecutions the Department of Justice vigorously pursued against President Trump himself.

You played a significant role in prosecuting President Trump. The proper functioning of government critically depends on the trust superior officials place in their subordinates.
Given your significant role in prosecuting the President, I do not believe that the leadership of the Department can trust you to assist in implementing the President’s agenda faithfully.
As a result, pursuant to Article Il of the Constitution and the laws of the United States, your employment with the Department of Justice is hereby terminated, and you are removed from federal service effective immediately.
If applicable, you may have a right to file an appeal of this removal with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) within 30 days of the effective date of the removal action. For more information on how to file an appeal with the MSPB. please visit www*mspb*gov

I’ve always wondered what people who believe in that sort of crap think should have happened 500 years ago when Europeans first began visiting the Americas. Should they have made two entire continents off limits to exploration and colonization because a small number of Stone Age people were wandering around? What do they think that would have looked like today? There’s no reason to believe that they would have even invented the wheel by now, much less any other modern technology. Of course, if you asked them, the libs would tell you that they didn’t need wheels, because they rode horses.

Except they didn’t. Horses aren’t native to the Americas. They were introduced by the Spanish. All the so-called wild horses are actually descendants of them.

CBS agrees to hand over ’60 Minutes’ Harris interview transcripts to FCC

CBS says it will turn over an unedited transcript of its October interview with Kamala Harris to the Federal Communications Commission, part of President Donald Trump’s ongoing fight with the network over how it handled a story about his opponent.

Trump sued CBS for $10 billion over the “60 Minutes” interview, claiming it was deceptively edited to make Harris look good. Published reports said CBS’ parent company, Paramount, has been talking to Trump’s lawyers about a settlement.

The network said Friday that it was compelled by Brendan Carr, Trump’s appointee as FCC chairman, to turn over the transcripts and camera feeds of the interview for a parallel investigation by the commission. “60 Minutes” has resisted releasing transcripts for this and all of its interviews, to avoid second-guessing of its editing process.

The case, particularly a potential settlement, is being closely watched by advocates for press freedom and by journalists within CBS, whose lawyers called Trump’s lawsuit “completely without merit” and promised to vigorously fight it after it was filed.

The Harris interview initially drew attention because CBS News showed Harris giving completely different responses to a question posed by correspondent Bill Whitaker in clips that were aired on “Face the Nation” on Oct. 6 and the next night on “60 Minutes.” The network said each clip came from a lengthy response by Harris to Whitaker’s question, but they were edited to fit time constraints on both broadcasts.

In his lawsuit, filed in Texas on Nov. 1, Trump charged it was deceptive editing designed to benefit Harris and constituted “partisan and unlawful acts of voter interference.”

BREAKTHROUGH DRUG REVERSES NERVE DAMAGE—RESTORES VISION & BRAIN FUNCTION

Scientists have developed a drug that repairs myelin—the protective sheath around nerves—potentially reversing damage from MS, strokes, and brain injuries.

LL-341070 dramatically sped up myelin repair in tests, restoring lost vision and brain function.

Researchers say it could be a game-changer for neurological diseases.

Human trials are still ahead, but experts believe this could be the first real step toward helping the brain heal itself.

following some trade discussions I ran across a term I’d not heard before. ‘de minimus’. Apparently it gets killed for China at least as of Tuesday and everybody is thrilled. So here is the post that explains it

    https://x.com/maphumanintent/status/1885911185939136631

“De minimus shipment” is a duty and tariff avoidance scheme that takes advantage of the de minimus rule, meaning any individual shipment valued at less than $800 does not require the same customs entry and duty payment as standard shipments.

Importers solve the potential logistics hassle of this by either shipping individual subsidized parcel packages from China, or consolidating all of their cargo into less than containerload (LCL) shipments with hundreds of individual “shipments” inside.

US-based logistics companies then “deconsolidate” the containers, sort, and reship the packages onto their final destinations, turning a bit of profit each on a massive volume of goods.
    .
    .
This practice ALSO reduces the likelihood of triggering a US Customs inspection since no full entry is filed, meaning these shipments have become a known way to ship fentanyl and precursors to the US for distribution domestically.

For many of us who work in global logistics and supply chains, and also care about national and economic security, this is an enormous win.

It seems Ken Martin, the new DNC chair, wants Trump tried for treason.

In June 2020, Martin accused Trump of ignoring intelligence that Russia offered the Taliban bounties to attack Americans — an unsubstantiated claim the White House said in 2021 was based off little evidence, and a claim that was not verified by the CIA.

Trump “should be immediately impeached and then put on trial for treason. His actions led to the deaths of American soldiers. He is a traitor to our nation and all those who have served,” Martin said at the time.

Not really. Modern-day Africa shows what happens when Europeans colonize a place for a while and then leave. The population is still basically at the Stone Age level, but they’ve been handed modern technology that they can’t understand or repair. It’s not really a matter of them being on the wrong frequency. The issue is that US Army helicopters are equipped with UHF radios, while civil aviation operates on VHF frequencies. Normally, planes in the area can hear radio traffic between the tower and other planes, so they have a better idea of what’s going on. The tower has a UHF radio and can talk to the helicopters, but the other aircraft won’t hear it.

I never understood that whole story. Do people think the Taliban needed Russia to tell them to kill Americans?

    Nope

But when some Russian ALSO puts a bounty on American heads, the profit motive is an additional incentive!

    🙂

Making a few extra bucks is always a good idea especially when you’d kill Americans for free anyway!

Army helicopters use UHF radios because their whole reason for existence is to support ground units, and that’s what they use.

Yup just as long as the UHF chatting guys stick to the strict Air Traffic specific rules are used to keep the UHF users separated from the VHF users. Toss ‘a witches brew’ of last minute RW switches (from RW 01 to RW 33) below 500′ between Localisers, and having Helicopter Command Pilots sitting in Starboard seats and fixed wing Command Pilots sitting in Port seats, ATC hires based on ethnic, gender based politics, with too much air traffic shoehorned into too little airspace, because egocentric idiots want to not have to drive for an extra 20 minutes to get home, and it stokes their ‘little wenner’ politicians self importance ……. you are going to kill a bunch of innocence sitting down the back.

    A kind of taxi service.

I would expect it to have more comfy seats in the back too.

As a military aircraft conducting air strikes etc then UHF radios would be used, however when it is operating as a taxi in civilian airspace then if I designed it the thing would have, and be using, civilian VHF radios.

But I do not design or build VIP taxi helicopters for a living.

It was a plain vanilla UH-60L, as far as I know. No different from what you’d find on any other Army flightline. The VIP transport is the VH-60M. The only unit that flies them is A Company, 12th Aviation Battalion.

Not really. Modern-day Africa shows what happens when Europeans colonize a place for a while and then leave. The population is still basically at the Stone Age level, but they’ve been handed modern technology that they can’t understand or repair. Mostly, they just got more efficient ways of killing each other.

I was ‘Bush Pilot Flying’ just before New Guinea got Independence. Their associate Finance Minister ‘tabled’ in Parliament a ‘Magik’ Stone that was supposed to solve the country’s balance of payment problems. Simply wrap a 1 Australian dollar bill around the stone, mumble the ;secret’ mumbo-jumbo and voila the $1 turns into $100 bucks! THIS actually happened in Parliament and about 20 % of Members believed it was the way to fix the economy!
    🙂

As far as killing each other more efficiently. Traditional tribal fights would last for days involving hundreds of warriors. Casualties would be something like 3 dead and 20 wounded over 3 days of fighting. No night combat because the locals were all afraid of the dark! 🙂

After Independence everyone swapped bows and arrows without flights and were REALLY inaccurate for AK47s. Hundreds of causalities was the inevitable result.

As a result, it looks like the helicopter was flying straight toward the plane, and everyone asks why they wouldn’t have seen a big plane right in front of their windshield.

But that’s not where it was. It was above and to their left. They were climbing, and the plane was descending. I’m not sure that they ever even saw it.

    Exactly!

I’ll bet you that ‘London for a brick’ the Command helo Command pilot who was on a training flight was visually masked from the field wing traffic that had a last second switch from the RW01 LLZ to the RW 33 LLZ and was banking hard.

The mass of lights masks the traffic as well and ATC didn’t help by being cryptic in his transfer of information

Good picture of a UH-60L interior, looking forward.

Right front is the aircraft commander (pilot), left front is presumably where the IP was. Behind him, in that seat facing out, is the crew chief. One the right side is the seat for a second enlisted crew member, which would have been empty in this instance.

As you can see, their view is pretty limited by the windows. In combat, they would probably be open, and that’s where the door guns mount. I doubt that they were open while flying over the Potomac at night in January, though.

    Yep

The chopper was following the river but popped up a couple of hundred feet and the steeply manoeuvring civilian airplane was in BOTH the Command pilots (on opposite sides of their airplanes because of a old rule about Command pilots flying helo or fixed wing airplanes.0

The traffic was masked visually from each other’s Command pilot’s view of their traffic. The Helo breaking a crucial Hard Roof by a few hundred extra feet, whilst manoeuvring over a black river at night at a couple of hundred feet, didn’t help!

That don’t fly above 200ft and towards the East bank of the river down the river seems to be the rule that kept helicopters and landing ( and taking off ) fixed wing aircraft apart.

Further down the river and past the Bridge to the South helicopters can go up to 300ft.

Not a helicopter pilot buy I seem to remember things about engines failing and auto rotation and a softer crash landings and helicopters not liking to be below a certain altitude for safety unless taking off and landings.

Minimum altitude for successful autorotation is specific to helicopter type.

But, having to fly at 200ft or below does not seem like it gives much chance of a softer crash landing in case of engine fail. Helicopters drop like a rock for for a while.

    🙂

During a crappy early morning after 14 hours of night across the Pacific we were stacked waiting for a bloody UTA ‘Frog-Air’ to go visual into Auckland RW23. It was foggy with a misty 2000 base. We were short of gas and Qantas on an early morning trip from Sydney was also stacked. The UTA refused to declare VISUAL and kept asking for lower decent in 500 foot chunks. We (Air NZ were getting close to out Bingo when we’d have to divert to our alternate in Christchurch and domestic B-737s were also in the mix. Frog Air and ATC were chatting as ATC tried to get the Frogs to go visual and the Frog kept saying that could only see the field intermittently. Then a VERY broad voice piped up as ATC kept asking UTA for their flight conditions and whether they were visual?

ATC said, “UTA 551 say your visual conditions”
    (Hint ..hint )

The from replies … ” we are in and out of dee bottoms ”

A VERY obviously AUSTRALIAN transmission commented … ” Viva la sport MATE”

ATC asked who transmitted but there was only raucous laughter first from the unknown aircraft and then from ATC.

The Air Frog took the hint went visual and everyone got to go where they wanted!

UTA served aircrew the equivalent of first class meals in flight including a glass of serious premium wine with their meals. Most UTA flights ran throughout Africa but my contact with UTA happened between Tahiti and New Caledonia where UTA operated instead of the nominal Air France. The UTA Pacific routes were considered highly sought by most senior crew and sought after. Same as US carrier Continental where most crew were very senior but so sought after by senior Captains that they seldom flew on those legs making them the least experienced on Pacific routes. The Micronesian wing of Continental was completely different as they were young crews gaining experience flying exclusively in Micronesia.

The old and bold Continental crews were notorious and Qantas and Air NZ crews operating in the Pacific took care to stay away from Continental due to their poor airmanship habits of asking for 4000 foot block cruise climb tactics to minimise fuel burn as they got special bonus payments depending on how much fuel they saved. This buggered up flight planning for every other carrier flying in the same airspace as Continental. Even when hogging block altitudes and screwing other carriers by stopping other carriers from getting past the hogging of blocks of airspace and getting stuck under Continental unable to climb. This fuck the rest of you attitude by Continental aircrew.

One night a Continental ‘heavy’ overflew Nadi in Fiji with the whole crew asleep. They overflew Fiji at 35,000 feet and slept through ‘Selcalls’ on HF and VHF by Nadi Radar and by us. They were 20 Nm past Nadi still at cruise altitude before we woke them up. We were stuck above Continental at 37.000 feet and couldn’t get past their lower altutude. Nadi radar cleared them initially to 5,000 homing on the Nadi VORTAC Once they were defending Nadi cleared us (Air NZ) to step down to initially 10,000 feet over Nadi behind Continental’s DC10.

Unfortunately the old and rusty Continental crew homed onto VORTAC as instructed but they couldn’t find the Nadi airfield as the ‘duffuses’ didn’t realise that the Nadi VORTAC was located NOT at the airfield as 99% of VORTACS normally are but on the top od a 3,000+ mountain 6 Nm away from Nadi field on the top of a jungle covered mountain range. These 3 Continental morons crewing the DC10 asked for the lights at the field to be turned up to 100% to help them find it in the dark. They were looking at a mountain range and demanded that Nadi radar clear them down to 3,000 feet. The Continental crew were looking in the wrong place!!!!!
Nadi radar crewed by an Indian said NO . Under NO way you guys are to decend below 5,000 feet. MAINTAIN 5,000 feet. We (Air NZ) were still flying around in circles at 10000 feet listening to Continental arguing with Nadi Radar. We figured that they were lost and looking in the wrong place for Nadi’s approach lights. We could see Continental’s lights beneath us and figured the idiots didn’t realise that Nadi VORTAC was NOT co-located at the airfield and hadn’t checked their NOTAMS (lazy arrogant bastards!)

Air NZ still orbiting at 10,000 feet in a Boeing 747 -300 told Nadi radar to tell Continental to look up at 11 o’clock and they would see all out lights on at 10,000 feet and follow us at 5,000 feet until we led them around the extended ILS for Nadi’t centreline and when established with the centre line and Nadi lights in site for Nadi radar to get them out of the way and on the ground ASAP. Then once they are landed could we have a decent clearance to vacate 10,000 feet for an ILS approach. Once everyone was on the ground we passed for ”old and bold’ Continental morons leaving flight planning they refused to even make eye contact with us! Arrogant idiots!

Typical Continental arsewipes! Whenever other carriers in the SW Pacific knew that Continental was in the same airspace we all would offset the track on the Airways by some unusual distance like right of track 3.55 Nm offset and added a few hundred feet to our cruise level like 347 feet, and then turn on all of our landing lights to show bloody Continental where we were. We’d when call on the chatter frequency 123.45 MHz to look out for our lights. They never responded to our calls and just cruised by below us.

you have no idea some of the engineering airworthiness problems ground engineers had with un-airworthy Continental airplanes operating from Auckland NZ northbound to Nadi and Honolulu. A corrupt Senator got involved in clearing a Continental DC-10 to depart Auckland after Air NZ Engineering to clear the airplane for flight. The blue sani-flush had leaked into the aft floor and rotted out the aluminium flooring structure and replaced the flooring with a large piece of ply wood. The corrupt US Senator twisted FAA’s arm and got clearance to illegally load passengers, as well, and just roped off the corroded flooring structure down aft.
Some corporates are just plain evil and totally fixated on the bottom Line $$$$$$.

“For Hakeem Jeffries to go out and say that you need to fight in the streets, it’s dangerous. It’s disgraceful rhetoric. And it’s not at all what the American people ask.”

“Do you want a congressional Democratic leadership that fights in the streets or that makes your life better?”

America’s welfare queen is New York. Federal dollars make up roughly 40% of the state’s budget.

    *snort*

These pictures show the the newly poured, #DEI concrete at the #ObamaPresidentialCenter.

The DEI contractor who did the defective work is now suing for #racism, because someone complained about the cracks.

Why did USAID give $27 million to the US fiscal sponsor of the group controlling Soros-funded prosecutors and telling them which American citizens and politicians to prosecute?

The same Government that hired 87,000 new IRS agents to shake us down on $600 transactions just lost over $100,000,000,000 in Ukraine.

(Just a drop in the theft bucket we’re gonna find)

Our Government is a crime organization.

    @ eaglesoars:
I enjoyed my time in Africa. Unfortunately it was only a six month contract.

Cannot remember if it was 1981 or 1982 but I have all my old passports and visas.

    Will look for them tomorrow.

Actually about ten years after that job got my security clearance revoked. I was not a secret agent but fixed computers at some military and government contractors and some smart ass at Marconi Space and Defence in the UK flagged me as visiting South Africa.

    What do do?

LOL, yes I did work in South Africa, yes I did computery things there, yes I did do work at Marconi Space and Defence in South Africa at their site just north of the Transvaal snake park.

Suddenly I was welcome to do service calls again!

I think me mentioning the Marconi place was near the snake park. Convincing, and them fucking snakes were awesome! They let you pet them and cuddle them and they are not cold or slimy.

Air NZ Engineering REFUSED to clear a Continental DC-10 for flight out to massive corrosion in the aft flooring due to leaking acidic ‘sani-flush’ toilet into the flooring aluminium structure.

    unreal

Unreal indeed but also corrupt on so many levels.

    * First when Continental Engineers discovered the corroded floor in the aft toilet of a DC-10 aircraft they covered up the fact

    * The Continental Airline engineering staff then either willingly or under duress failed to replaced corroded aircraft metal structures, by not complying to legal engineering standards, and replacing the structural integrity of the DC-10’s corroded structure, before the aircraft was returned to passenger service.

*The Continental Airline Engineering Standards were hidden and the air worthiness of that DC-10 was illegally hidden by Continental Airlines and passenger safety was knowingly compromised for an unknown period to keep that aircraft in productive service to maintain income for Continental.

*When Air NZ professional Dispatch Engineering Staff refused point blank to reissue a Certificate of Airworthiness, prior to the aircraft’s dispatch from NZ, Senior Continental Executive staff approached a US Senator to waive an immediate grounding notice, to allow the aircraft a Temporary Airworthiness Certificate to enable the aircraft to be returned to Continental Airlines in the US, for remediation of structural integrity engineering at the Continental Engineering base in the US.

    * Legally that agreed Temporary Airworthiness Certificate was even legal under FAA Rules. If somehow Legal it was issued to Continental to operate, by allowing only a minimum operational crew to operate that aircraft, if it was even legal to grant such a waiver in the first case. Most of the Cabin Crew would have NOT been allowed to board such an aircraft.

Continental Airlines executive Staff had a duty of care to minimise the number of crew operating that DC-10 in returning it to the Continental for urgent maintenance prior to the re-issuing of another permanent Certificate of Airworthiness prior to using that airplane to legally carry Passengers.

    * The Continental Airways Command Captain of this un-airworthy DC-10 illegally or under Continental Executive duress, to then use the extremely limited temporary Airworthiness Certificate, and/or knowingly under orders from Continental Executive staff required Continental Auckland based ground dispatch staff to load a full compliment of passengers onto this dangerous aircraft.

    * it was never clear that the US Senator who allowed this variation in FAA Rules, knew that Continental Executives were operating outside the very limited scope of returning this dangerously damaged aircraft to the US for repair, or whether Continental Executing Staff kept that further dangerous and illegal fact from the ‘tame’ and ignorant Senator, who allowed the manifest illegally of allowing passengers to be carried on such an aircraft.

    * Obviously The FAA Rules had been broken egregiously and one can only imagine if the DC-10 had lost its tail at altitude over the mid Pacific with a full load of crew and passengers aboard, the insurance case would have broken Continental Airlines, which was even then in financially ruinous trouble.

    * I guess some Continental Vice President took a punt that in the case of the loss of this fuselage full of passengers, it would just vanish into the night in the wide Pacific, and end up lost under 10,000 feet of water. There was enough evidence from Air NZ Staff, who were none too happy with Continental’s Executives, using a weight of a Senator’s position to release this aircraft departure, even under a very restrictive Temporary Airworthiness Certificate issued by the FAA?

*Now did the senator know that he was OK-ing the loading of 280 passengers and the crew to operate on a dodgy Temporary Certificate of Airworthiness? Did the Continental Executives know that Continental Airways illegally loaded passengers in Auckland onto an airplane operating on a Temporary Certificate of Airworthiness? Was the Command Captain, who would have been liable ultimately for the safe operation of his aircraft?

    * Was the Captain operating under duress from Continental Executives to operate the DC-10 illegally, with passengers aboard, to justify the fiscal case for maintaining the schedule and continue making money, whilst relocating the Aircraft to the US for engineering maintenance?

    * Given the trail of evidence of gross illegality. Did Continental Executives, a US Senior, an experienced Command Captain , Continental Airlines Engineering staff and FAA all commit felonies?

    * it seems based on the known facts that they all got away with attempted Manslaughter!
