1980s music didn’t suck nearly as bad as I remember.

Well, planted my Bok Choy seeds on the 12th May. 7-10 days germination and today they are awake! I is good at this.

Strange thing, only five of the six pots have seedlings.

LOL, I suspect what is wrong with pot number six.

( Don’t plant seeds after a few coffee mugs of Merlot or you lose track of which pot you planted seeds in )

Today is pickle cucumber day! The seeds are larger, so no need for tweezers and reading glasses.

Supposed to grow into a two foot bush and produce about 5-6 pickles in 52 days when grown in a 1 gallon pot. Even if no pickles produced the greenery will be nice to look at in South Texas, the land of sand, cactus and cowboys.

Tomato plants are thriving in their small pots, roots restricted so they are Bonsai. Flower buds just starting to be formed on the growing shoot tips so I may get a cherry tomato!

The mystery of the sixth Bok Choy container that did not sprout any seeds. One of the other pots has twice as many seedlings in it than expected.

Anyway re-planted the vacant pot yesterday. As to thinning out seedlings in the other pots, not going to bother. Aim is to grow baby Bok Choy, the real ones are big and I have no space for growing a mature one. Mine will be slaughtered when very young and tender and stir fried.

Bean sprouts, set off another batch today that will be ready Sunday. Last batch I did an ounce and a half of seeds and it was too much. This time half an ounce.

    No, I ain’t gay….

Got weekend groceries delivered. Eggs, cottage cheese, a Sharpie marker ( vital for marking leftovers LOL ) a bag of coleslaw mix ( cabbage soup will be made ) and…

Ordered a 3-5 pound boneless pork loin. Great for me. I cut it into chunks and ziplock them. Some go into freezer ( hence the Sharpie ) and other chunks go into the fridge to be eaten within a week. I have a good system!

They had no boneless pork loin and substituted a bone in picnic roast instead. No problem!

A 5 pound thing arrived that would not fit in air fryer or sad lonely person sized slow cooker so I just spent almost an hour cutting it up. The bone in shit is not a bone in. It is a complicated mess of bones and muscle and tendons surrounding a front leg arm joint!

Put the fucking thing in the oven whole and slow roast it you say.

    Oven been broke 3-4 years.

Anyway I butchered it up. A chunk still with bone in is in air fryer wrapped in foil at 350F for 60 minutes. Then going to reduce temp to 250F for another 60 minutes to fully cook.

The finale is unwrapping it and then air frying at 400F for about 6-7 minutes to crispy the top of it. That is the skin and fat, should be good.

Moral of the story is. If boneless pork loin is not available accept no substitutions.

All the pork is going to be good, I knows cooking, but the cutting up the damn thing and getting the bones out was way too much effort. And dangerous as it involved a very sharp knife, a bread knife and a pair of cutting up a chicken shears.

    I LOVE X!

Made a UK English grammatical error and got nailed for this by an English person even though I was speaking American English and was grammatically correct, in American.

People on X need to get a life!

Was critisised for saying a picture posted was an English breakfast as it had beans, sausage, an egg and chips. ( French fries in American )

No English breakfast has chips, I know that!

But my American followers assume any meal with beans is a breakfast.

A dilemma, should I be British of American when posting on social media?

Or just fluent in both English English and American English?

( for those taking note I dropped an English word here not an American English word, and yes, spell checker caught it but sometimes I ignore spell checkers. )

After two hours chunk of pork registers 170F on the pokey thermometer and technically it is cooked. But tougher than the last pair of shoes I threw away!

Now it is in the slow cooker, with a big splash of chicken broth and topped with a course chopped onion. Moisture. Four hours plus will do it.

Not seasoning it or turning into BBQ pulled pork. Once you do that you are committed to eating same thing for days.

Rule number one when cooking. There is always grilled cheese sandwiches available. LOL and I thawed some emergency shrimp, and there is cream cheese and and bread to be toasted on stand by. Did I mention cream of celery soup? Probably not. I has secrets.

    UPDATE:

Where’s “No Tax on Social Security?

    I found out.

Congress CAN NOT alter Social Security through budget reconciliation (the Big Beautiful Bill) because of The Byrd Rule.

    It simply isn’t allowed.

The Byrd Rule in the Senate prohibits provisions in budget reconciliation bills (which require only a simple majority to pass) from directly altering Social Security. This rule classifies changes to Social Security, such as eliminating taxes on benefits, as “extraneous” to budgetary reform unless they are incidental to the budget process.

To eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, Congress would need to pass a standalone bill, which requires 60 Senate votes to overcome a potential filibuster. With a closely divided Senate, securing bipartisan support for such a measure is difficult, especially if Democrats oppose it due to fiscal concerns.

It looks like the Dems are trying to gin up a new round of “spontaneous” riots over George Floyd by claiming that Trump is going to pardon Derek Chauvin. In typical MSM fashion, it’s all based on “unnamed sources,” of course, which means they made it up. Everyone connected to the administration–including Trump himself–has said that it’s not true. Of course, to them, that just confirms the story, because everything Trump says is a lie.

And then there’s the fact that Chauvin is serving a 22 1/2 year state sentence. Even if Trump were to pardon him, he’d just go back to state prison. Minor detail…

    Picnic roast never again.

A 1 1/2 pound chunk wrapped in foil and air fryer oven baked at 350F for 60 mins then heat reduced to 250F for another 60 minutes last night. Internal temp 170F and tough as an old boot.

Today in the slow cooker with chicken stock and a course chopped onion. Been about three hours so far, smell is amazing!

Still tough as a very old boot. I knows these things, suddenly as the collagen breaks down my pork will become soft, tender and full of juicy stuff.

Bad news is there is another three and a half pounds of this raw and in the fridge. This is one cut of meat that is cheap but way too much trouble to cook.

Well, after I don’t know how many hours in the slow cooker last night and today finally did the teaspoon test. The chunk of pig arm broke up into individual muscles. The connective tissue is gone.

I could post a picture of the chunks of muscle in a pig’s arm but I won’t. I get fuck all views.

The pig arm is a combination of many muscles. Not like a brisket or top sirloin. Even a pig’s ass is not as complicated muscles wise.

Anyway, first batch of picnic roast is cooked and edible and never again.

    Lunch is sardines on toast.

Example. Technically and due to copyright Cheddar Cheese is only able to be labeled that if it is produced in the Cheddar Gorge region of England.

But the USA don’t give a fuck. “Cheddar” is made in huge factories here and dyed yellow.

Anyway, I only by sharp “Cheddar” and it no way resembles real Cheddar but I have no alternative here. It is in no way “sharp”

However, there is a solution. To turn American Cheddar into real cheese taste wise is to lightly smear either Coleman’s mustard or UK imported horseradish on it when making a sandwich.

Just dip the tip of the knife in the jar, nothing more, that is enough.

I knows things needed to survive in a foreign country.

Their transportation plan depends on the availability of an as-yet-uncertified aircraft three years from now? This may be even dumber than the high-speed rail boondoggle:

Los Angeles Announces Flying Taxis for Visitors at ‘No-Car’ Olympics

Los Angeles announced May 15 that air taxis will be available for visitors and Team USA at the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games by Archer Aviation Inc.

Mayor Karen Bass pledged last year that the Olympics would be a “no-car Games” and that people would need to use public transportation to access venues.

However, Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft will also be used for the 2028 Games, transporting VIPs, fans, and stakeholders, while also aiding emergency services and security operations across Los Angeles.

The LA28 Games are projected to attract more than 15 million visitors and be watched by billions of viewers worldwide. Around 4 billion people watched the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Archer said its Midnight aircraft emits less noise and emissions than traditional helicopters. The company hopes to begin commercial operations in 2026, assuming it receives Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification approval.

A sad thing is the technology is out there and available from veterinarians and specifically cats.

About 12 years ago I had a sick cat in Iowa, took it to the veterinarians and they said ” We need to do a full blood work up, but it will be another $40 ”

The machine was licenced and the veterinarians had to pay a fee every time it was used.

Forty bucks and a full blood analysis!

Same thing years later. Sick cat. This time the blood thing was only $20. In a Humane Society place.

    Tested positive FIV.

    $20 to diagnose a cat!

In humans that testing would have cost thousands!

( OK humans don’t get FIV but still to do a screening of possible infections in a cat was $20 )

    Good. Now do Northern Virginia

EXCLUSIVE: We witnessed an incredibly rare sight in the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, as Twin Towers jail transferred an illegal alien inmate to ICE custody, not because sanctuary policies have changed, but because the jail is being *forced* to cooperate w/ ICE as part of a new federal operation designed to “neutralize” California’s sanctuary state law.

The new Trump-appointed US Attorney in Los Angeles,
    @USAttyEssayli
, launched “Operation Guardian Angel” last week, and it’s already forcing sanctuary jails to make transfers to ICE.

    How does it work?

Essayli has organized a federal task force made up of ICE, FBI, HSI, DEA, and ATF, working out of an office in downtown LA. Every single day, they are now scanning criminal databases w/ fingerprints and identifying illegal aliens in jails throughout Southern California who have been previously deported from the United States.

If they’ve come back to the US after a deportation, they’ve committed a federal felony under 8 USC 1326 known as “illegal re-entry”.

As soon as the task force ID’s an alien booked into a local jail who has a previous deportation, they seek a federal criminal warrant on them for felony re-entry, signed off on by a federal judge.

Unlike an administrative ICE warrant or ICE detainer request, these criminal judicial warrants for 8 USC 1326 *CANNOT* be ignored by sanctuary jurisdictions, and California’s sanctuary state law cannot shield aliens from these criminal warrants. Instead of releasing the alien inmates and ignoring ICE detainers, jails must hand the aliens over to the Feds, regardless of sanctuary policy.

“With this operation, we’re going to be neutralizing California sanctuary state policies,” Essayli told me. “We’re going to flood the system with warrants for criminal illegal immigrants who are in county jails, they can ignore a detainer, but they cannot ignore a criminal arrest warrant. They have no choice, they will comply, and if they don’t, if they interfere with our ability to arrest a federal felon, they can expect to face consequences for that.

    @FoxNews
was granted exclusive access to the task force as they scanned databases and found a previously deported Mexican alien in jail in downtown LA who had just been arrested for robbery in the city of El Monte. They filed a warrant, and we joined them at LA County’s Twin Towers jail as the sanctuary jurisdiction handed the alien inmate over to the task force – potentially one of the first on camera transfers to ICE since California’s sanctuary state law took effect in 2017.

The task force says once they’re at full steam, they project they will be arresting 40-50 aliens from local jails every week, and that if it’s successful in LA, US Attorneys can use it as a model to neutralize sanctuary jurisdictions in other parts of the country.

‘Dilbert’ creator Scott Adams: I’m dying from same cancer as Joe Biden

The famed East Bay cartoonist didn’t sugarcoat his situation, saying Monday that he’s in near-constant pain and that he doesn’t expect to live past this summer

East Bay cartoonist Scott Adams, the creator of the iconic “Dilbert” comic strip, announced Monday that he is dying from the same aggressive form of prostate cancer that former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with.

Adams, 67, revealed his battle with prostate cancer on a Rumble stream Monday and said that his disease — like Biden’s — has metastasized to his bones, the Daily Beast reported.

“My life expectancy is maybe this summer. I expect to be checking out from this domain sometime this summer,” the cartoonist said. For him, the disease “is already intolerable. I can tell you I don’t have good days.”

“I’m in pain, and I’m always in pain, and the pain moves around to different parts of my body,” Adams continued. “I’ve been using a walker for months now.” However, he said, he remains tough mentally. “The mental part, you know, I got that under control.”

Biden’s office announced Sunday that the 82-year-old former president had been having increasing urinary symptoms. Biden’s doctors found a prostate nodule and told him Friday that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and that cancer cells had spread to his bones. His office said that he and his family were reviewing his treatment options, with medical experts telling the Associated Press that his form of cancer is treatable, but not curable.

Adams didn’t specify when he was diagnosed but the vocal supporter of Donald Trump appeared to go along with some of the speculation, especially among the president’s supporters, that Biden knew about his cancer diagnosis before he says he learned about it on Friday.

Adams said he’s had his cancer “longer than (Biden) has had it. … Well, longer than he’s admitted to having it.”

My sister (in a convalescent residence) says the facility NP anointed herself my sister’s GP, has already effed up a prescription that conflicted with what sis was already taking – caused kidney stones. More recently, sis got a notice from her original GP that the NP sent him a notice that NP had changed sis’ Health Care Directive to DNR without sis’ knowlege or approval.

Finally in Ketosis after a few days of drinking less Busch Light and no Merlot. A 12oz can of Busch Light contains 3.2g carbs, my goal is less than 10 cans in a 24 hour period. That is 32g carbs. LOL yeah I can does math!

To stay in ketosis a person has to consume according to Grok

how many grams of carbs to stay in ketosis

To stay in ketosis, most people need to keep net carbs (total carbs minus fiber) below 20-50 grams per day, depending on individual factors like activity level, metabolism, and sensitivity to carbs. A stricter limit of 20-30 grams is often recommended for beginners to ensure ketosis. Track your intake and monitor ketone levels to fine-tune what works for you.

So I can have 10 cans of beer but have to really watch wat I eat.

Lunch was a chunk of pan fried salmon, skin on, and a shit load of lettuce and a healthy blob of mayo. 2g carbs.

Supper is going to be a 1/4 pound 80/20 beef patty and 4oz of shrimp. An ounce of sharp cheddar will be melted on top of the beef when it is cooked. Zero carbs! An avocado would be nice too but latest batch is not ripe.

A keto diet is like going to a buffet and only eating the expensive good shit!

Down side is I stink of nail polish remover…

Someone re Xed an X about liver and onions and a craving emerged. I KNOW there is some in the freezer somewhere.

BOMBSHELL: Report Lays Out How Biden Covered Up Deadly Side-Effects Of COVID Vaccine

The Biden administration was aware of potentially deadly side effects associated with COVID vaccines and chose not to alert the public about the risks for months, according to a bombshell Senate report obtained by The Daily Wire.

According to the report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, officials knew as early as February 2021 that the vaccines were associated with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the thin sac surrounding the heart). Still, they waited to warn the public until June as they pushed the vaccine on Americans.

The report concludes that U.S. health officials “knew about the risks of myocarditis,” “downplayed the health concern,” and deliberately “delayed informing the public about the risk.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), who chairs the committee and will lead a hearing on it later this afternoon, told The Daily Wire that Biden officials delayed reporting the side effects because they were concerned about “vaccine hesitancy.”

“But in being concerned about that, they violated the inviolable principle of informed consent,” Johnson said.

An executive summary of the report notes that Johnson’s committee was effectively stonewalled by the Biden administration when requesting documents, seeking transparency. Under the Trump administration, that changed.

“Now, under a new administration and a new HHS secretary, HHS is beginning to produce records, pursuant to the chairman’s subpoena, that should have been provided years ago, without redactions, to Congress and the public,” the report said.

And we’ll be getting 2 dogs in a few weeks to go with the army of cats. Gotta put SOMETHING up to cover the gap between our next-door neighbors side fence and the back fence of the people behind him. And will probably have to put a baby gate up by the basement stairs so that if there’s any problems with the dogs, the cats have someplace to escape.

    Believe NOBODY mate!

Even the CCP doesn’t know for sure how many people live in China!

It’s somewhere between 850 million and 300 million but there are so many dodgy stats about that nobody really knows.

Pick the Median of around 580 million registered citizens and you won’t be too far wrong.

Guangdong province has lost its industry with factory workers not paying their workers since the end of March and most city workers have headed back to their villages, post Chinese New Year when the usual income bump kept the citizens being fed and just an imaginary normalcy remaining. Even the city of Hong Kong is looking empty of most ‘mainlanders’. XI has a US$6 trillion hole in his treasury and the PLA, PLAN and PLAAF are all looking over their shoulders as senior commanders can’t guarantee that the defence forces can actually do their jobs anymore. China is rotting from the middle! I’m worried sick that my daughter’s apartment will get locked down (and have the access doors welded shut) as another Covid outbreak is raging. Beijing and Shanghai and the other production centres are worse!

Still in ketosis but not as high as I would like. Sneaking carbs, a.k.a. beer.

Lost two pounds in 7 days though. Down to 202. Trying for 190.

Lunch is my main meal, some people think dieting is hell. Keto diet = yummy food!

Example, today main meal was a chunk of salmon, skin on, pan fried in coconut oil. Three eggs, scrambled, an avocado and a blob of mayo.

Would have been better with a couple of slices of garlic toast but that zero carb bread does not toast. No sugar to make it brown and tasty. It just dries out and is nasty.

Told him when and if tomatoes appear I will move them from outside the front door to the back. Less light but less hot and drying wind.

He said ” and nobody will steal your tomatoes ”

There are millions of Chinese who are ‘NON-PEOPLE because they didn’t get registered during the One Child Years and have NO PAPERS!

Funding happens when the Central Government funded with’ internal Yuan’ made by printing money and then destroying it by allowing bank to wither and have the bad debts written off.

That general pretend money funds the Provincial government who also withhold a proportion of wages as well as the nominal tax take. Just before Chinese New Year (IF WORKERS HAVE FOLLOWED CCP Diktat) get their own money paid back without interest of course, prior to Chinese New Year.

Except this year the workers have had NO PAY since March due to Trumpian Tariffs. 100,000 rioted in Guangzhou and elsewhere. Covid is back with a vengeance and the cremation furnaces are back working 24-7. The PlLA, PLAN, and PLAAF don’t know whether the armed forces have the motivation to go to war for real. Xi is paranoid about getting replaced and is firing many senior officers. Xi is also drunk as a skunk much of the time which makes him unstable. Many in the CCP are looking over their shoulders!

    @ eaglesoars:
Jaime G. was a frequent poster on the Blogmock years ago – He posted as SADM (Song And Dance Man) and was Bob Crotchit of the short-lived Bob & Jack Show. He knew Derringer, posted a tribute on FB.

Richard Dean Zehringer, known to almost all as Rick Derringer, passed on the 26th. As with almost all guitarists from the 70’s, we covered at least three songs from his extensive catalog: Hang On Sloopy, Free Ride, and Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo. My favorite performance from him was on The Old Grey Whistle Test with the Edgar Winter Group jamming out Frankenstein. By the way, he co-wrote and produced that song, as he did with all of Edgar’s, and his brother Johnny’s, recordings. Rick produced and collaborated with many others that you’ll have to Google.
About five, or so, years ago, I got a Facebook friend request from Rick Jenda Derringer. Jenda is his now widow, and that combination of names was his Facebook identity. Initially, I surmised the request to be from a poser. Yeah, right, Rick Derringer is sending me a friend request. Oh, okay. So I followed the link and was completely blown away. How in the world does he know me, and why is he asking to become his Facebook friend? I began to think it was through a mutual friend. Then it hit me. About one week earlier, Mark Kendall/Great White posted Johnny Winter’s rendition of one of Rick’s songs. I commented that that version was good, but I also liked the original by Rick, pointing out that Rick wrote it and produced Johnny’s version. Rick read that comment.
We chatted a number of times, and he told me some very cool stories. My favorite was the one about a Gibson Les Paul, he got from John Sebastian that eventually ended up in the hands of George Harrison through Eric Clapton. And that guitar was the one used, by Eric and George, on the recording of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Cool story, but the most favorite thing we discussed was the Lord, and our mutual faith. He advised me to attend the church he used to go to when he lived here in Albuquerque. We had tentative plans to meet if he ever returned here to visit. That will now not happen. But I’m confident we’ll soon meet, because his faith in our Lord has taken him to his eternal dwelling, and I’ll also be there soon enough.

I was tempted to plant a potato in one of my pots amongst the tomatoes but decided not to.

Potatoes and tomatoes are very close relatives, the leaves are similar. In fact some varieties of tomato have what is known as ” potato leaves ” and a potato plant produces flowers that resemble tomato flowers that turn into green fruits that look the same as unripe cherry tomatoes.

The evil plan was to fool the Mexican tomato bandits into stealing the potato fruits as well. Potato fruits are poisonous.
