CALLING ALL NEVERTRUMPERS!!!!

U.S. manufacturing expanded in December at the fastest pace in three months, as gains in orders and production capped the strongest year for factories since 2004, the Institute for Supply Management said Wednesday.

Since just before NAFTA and China in the WTO…SO, tell me again about Adam Smith and Milton Friedman again?

It’ OK, I’ll wait. I’ll Wait.

Gonna be some great football today! (and I’ll be asleep so I can work night shift.)

It’s an Open Thread as well

Michigan

12:00 PM

NO ONE has a line for this game. ??? SC wins.

#12 UCF

12:30 PM

UCF is stupid fast. These guys are FUN to watch. But, they are 10 point dogs against Auburn. Auburn covers.

#14 Notre Dame

#17 LSU

1:00 PM

ND burns me every time and there is NO LINE on this game either. ND wins.

#3 Georgia

5:00 PM

This is gonna be a great game. UGA is a 3 point favorite. OU’s QB is ill with flu like symptoms. I think UGA can cover.

#4 Alabama

8:45 PM

‘Bama is a 3 point favorite against the Clemson Tigers. Its the #1 and #2 defenses playing tonight. Clemson only has 6 Seniors on scholarship this year. Coach Sweeney has done one hell of a job. But, man…Its ‘Bama and they cover.

It’s almost here! The New Year! Where we get to keep a little more of our money and Democrats can run on trying to take it back from you.

As is tradition, and probably will be the last time considering the status of the NFL in these parts. we’ll explain the playoff picture. Then will have the over/under on the bargain prices that will be charged for the Super Bowl ad slots this year. Because I’m thinking the audience ain’t what it was.

Here we go…..

In the AFC, the Patriots, Steelers, Jaguars and Chiefs have all clinched their respective divisions, with the Patriots and Steelers getting a first-round bye and will have home field in their first games+-. Wild cards look to be the Ravens and Titans, but the Chargers and Bills are in the hunt, but MUST WIN this week and the Titans must lose.

In the NFC, the Eagles, Vikings and Rams have clinched their divisions. It’s between the Saints and Panthers for the NFC South – If Saints win, they have the division, even if Carolina wins. If Saints lose and Carolina wins, Carolina goes as division champ and Saints go as wild card. If Saints win and Carolina loses or wins, Saints are the champs and Cam Newton leads the wild card team. So…Saints or Panthers are the definite wild card and the Falcons are current favorites for the second wild card (which would mean everyone in the NFC South goes to the playoffs except Jamais Winston. Seahawks are in the hunt only if they win and Atlanta loses.

So here are the matchups for today. I say we should all watch and give the NFL a false sense of security:

Packers @ Lions
Texans @ Colts
Bears @ Vikings
Jets @ Patriots
Redskins @ Giants
Cowboys @ Eagles
Browns @ Steelers
Panthers @ Falcons
Bengals @ Ravens
Bills @ Dolphins
Saints @ Bucs
Jaguars @ Titans
Chiefs @ Broncos
Raiders @ Chargers
49ers @ Rams
Cardinals @ Seahawks

In the NHL, the boys are back on the ice at the following locations:

Toronto @ Vegas
Arizona @ Anaheim
Tampa Bay @ Columbus
Winnipeg @ Edmonton
Pittsburgh @ Detroit
NY Islanders @ Colorado
San Jose @ Dallas
Chicago @ Calgary

In the PGA, everybody is apparently staying home and drinking good champagne.

In the NBA – yeah, no.

And with this, my final column for the year (try to choke back the tears), this is your open thread for Sunday – let’s talk about New Year’s Resolution and savor the #Resisitance that isn’t.  Also we could discuss Jeff Flake’s delusion that he’ll somehow beat Trump in a primary when he couldn’t even hold his Senate seat.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL Y’ALL.
