As a banished 1.0er who left with an abysmal -286 karma rating, one would think that I’d have no reason to go back there. But as a Brave Nomadic Warrior of the Political Blogosphere™, I sometimes feel a sense of duty to check it out from time to time.
Now, I know much has been made on this site (and others) about a “shift” of sorts with regards to the prevailing and accepted political stances and topics over there. For myself, I must say that I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t notice it as well, but there was another thing I noticed as of late that, for some reason, seems to be flying below the proverbial radar:
CJ appears to have a hard-on….for Amazon:
Forget about the Amazon ads up top and in the sidebar for a second. Go ahead, do the “search LGF” for “amazon”, and you’ll turn up just shy of 300 posts (for some perspective on how much this really is, do the same search on DailyKos, over a six year span -encompassing the thousands of diarists on the site- , and you’ll turn up just 114 posts). Hone in on the trend, and you’ll discover that LGF “pimped” Amazon yesterday, two days before that (twice), last Sunday, a week ago, etc….
An observant netizen is led to one or two conclusions: Either a) CJ is under contract with Amazon, and/or… b) CJ is an Amazon fanboy.
Either way, I figured that this discovery was a perfect opportunity to have some fun. You see, I tend to view a blog post as a blank canvass, and I am particularly inclined to start some blogospheric (?) drama wherever I can, so I thought it’d be interesting to have a little contest. So, here are the preferred rules for the comments section of this thread:
1) Guess which “Amazon” related topic that CJ will “pimp” next (kindle, MP3 music, books, movies, etc.)
If there are multiple winners (or no one guesses it correctly), there should be a tie-breaker, so…
2) Guess the minutes past the hour that the “pimp” gets posted (example: “Amazon Movie Sampler” was posted at 6:40:09 pm PDT, so a “bulls-eye” would be 40). The closest guess breaks the tie.
The winner of this contest will be awarded a faaabulous prize (that may or may not have anything to do with, say, Amazon, or alternatively, LGF, or the sycophants within).
Go!
