Just Wrong.

Okay. Ignore that delightful image for a minute, and look at this instead.

That’s much better. Floppy-eared bunnies on a fishing trip. Mommy Bunny probably took the photo that hangs in Bobby Bunny’s bedroom. Then something bad happened.

Believe it or not, that’s a real book with a target audience: the children of criminals. Who knows why Little Bunny FooFoo’s dad got busted – Higgins doesn’t divulge on Amazon – no previews – so we can only guess. Did he evade taxes? Was he involved in a hit and run, or a drive-by shooting? Shirk child support payments? DUI? Then I wondered what the sad little rabbit was drawing.

Seems that the policeman under someone’s thumb isn’t a harmless brown floppy-eared rabbit. There’s a message in there somewhere.

Now let’s crank the sarcasm up another notch. To date, almost 98% of people who read and rated this Amazon Book Review found it helpful. (G’head. Right-Click it to view it.)

So sad, pathetic, offensive and funny at the same time, and that brings us back to the author of the book, M.C.”Melissa” Higgins. Maybe she means well, but  children’s book illustrator Wednesday Kirwan (whose lovely work is featured at the top of this thread) has problems and should never be allowed near children of any age, at least in my opinion. Hell, I wouldn’t let either of them babysit a dog.

Some folks just ain’t right in the haid no matter how talented they are, and that’s exactly why we’re posting it here, on The Overnight Open Thread.

Feeling grumpy? No energy? Everything seems to be bottled up inside and you need a release? Well, take a tip from me: Call EneMan!

When EneMan is on the scene, evil doers take their lumps and get what they deserve in the end. He’ll never leave his buddies behind, and he always gets to the bottom of the problem. Chicks dig EneMan.

Some may conclude that this post is in poor taste for such a class website such as The Blogmocracy, butt let your thoughts flow freely in the comments section.

Other blogs may talk trash, but we give you the straight poop on

Saturday Night Blog Contest: 1.0 and Amazon

As a banished 1.0er who left with an abysmal -286 karma rating, one would think that I’d have no reason to go back there.  But as a Brave Nomadic Warrior of the Political Blogosphere™, I sometimes feel a sense of duty to check it out from time to time.

Now, I know much has been made on this site (and others) about a “shift” of sorts with regards to the prevailing and  accepted political stances and topics over there.  For myself, I must say that I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t notice it as well, but there was another thing I noticed as of late that, for some reason, seems to be flying below the proverbial radar:

CJ appears to have a hard-on….for Amazon:

lgfamazon2

Forget about the Amazon ads up top and in the sidebar for a second.  Go ahead, do the “search LGF” for “amazon”, and you’ll turn up just shy of 300 posts  (for some perspective on how much this really is, do the same search on DailyKos, over a six year span -encompassing the thousands of diarists on the site- , and you’ll turn up just 114 posts).   Hone in on the trend, and you’ll discover that LGF “pimped” Amazon yesterday, two days before that (twice), last Sunday, a week ago, etc….

An observant netizen is led to one or two conclusions:  Either a) CJ is under contract with Amazon, and/or… b) CJ is an Amazon fanboy

Either way, I figured that this discovery was a perfect opportunity to have some fun.  You see, I tend to view a blog post as a blank canvass, and I am particularly inclined to start some blogospheric (?) drama wherever I can, so I thought it’d be interesting to have a little contest.  So, here are the preferred rules for the comments section of this thread:

1) Guess which “Amazon” related topic that CJ will “pimp” next (kindle, MP3 music, books, movies, etc.)

If there are multiple winners (or no one guesses it correctly), there should be a tie-breaker, so…

2) Guess the minutes past the hour that the “pimp” gets posted (example: “Amazon Movie Sampler” was posted at 6:40:09 pm PDT, so a “bulls-eye” would be 40).  The closest guess breaks the tie.

The winner of this contest will be awarded a faaabulous prize (that may or may not have anything to do with, say, Amazon, or alternatively, LGF, or the sycophants within).

Go!
