Graffiti is illegal because it’s vandalism of private property. Reverse graffiti is selective cleaning, and everyone who ever wrote “WASH ME” on a dirty car has done it. Some folks have taken it a step further.

Alexandre Orion – Skulls in Sao Paolo
Hailing from Brazil, Alexandre sees his art work as a way of getting an environmental message across to those who ordinarily wouldn’t listen.

From the Utoobage description:

“Eventually, the authorities showed up and tried to determine what course of action they should take. They realized that they couldnt charge Orion with a crime, since he technically wasnt doing anything illegal. They subsequently made the decision to erase his masterpiece of a mural and clean that side of the tunnel. When Orion continued on the opposing side, city officials cleaned the entire tunnel, and every other tunnel in São Paulo. I think Orion got his point across.”

Sure, he’s got an environmentalist mindset, but you gotta admire the way he does something about it. He creates non-permanent public art that stands on its own until the city maintenance department does the job they’re paid to do.

And now it’s time for some washable internest graffiti on

Government Motors’ Eco-Math

[The following was reposted in its entirety from Soylent Green with permission.]

These Eco-bullshitters are just amazingly dishonest. The fact that it involves the Green cabal at GovernmentMotors just makes pure, unadulterated Theft:

General Motors broke ground Wednesday on a six-acre field of solar panels in front of its Detroit-Hamtramck plant as part of an effort to green the production of its Chevrolet Volt…DTE will lower GM’s energy bill because of the solar panels, which were first reported by the Free Press, saving about $15,000 a year. (Bold mine–we’ll come back to that.)

Money Quote: “This isn’t only going green for green’s sake,” said Bob Ferguson, GM’s vice president of global public policy. “This is about reducing this plant’s environmental footprint and reducing our bottom line.”

Really, Bob?  Let’s do some Mother Fucking Math!

Six acres = 261,360 sq. feet. A 190-watt solar panel covers about 4 sq. feet. 261,360/4 = 65,340 panels. But they’ll need room for wiring and pipes, support equipment, etc., so let’s say they can only put 64,000 in place. Now, the big panels can run $30,000 a pop. But let’s say they get a deal–$10,000.

Our cost, just for the panels is…yes, you can do it in your head: $6.4 million. Isn’t it amazing that guy from GM can’t do that in his head.

But, harrumph, it will save $15,000 a year.-  Hmm, 6,400,000/15,000. Cool, the payback is only 427 FUCKING YEARS YOU DICKWAD SCUMBAG! But alas, it’s really not. The average life of a solar panel is about 20 years. So they’d have to replace them about 21 times. $6.4 million x 21 = $134.4 million. Hey, but amortized over 427 years…?

That is what Eco-tard fascist rentseekers call “savings.” I call it fraud.

You too, can be an eco-Nazi

Excuse the Godwinizing, but when you see this, I think you’ll agree that these eco-creeps are totalitarians of the creepiest kind:

I’m not a fan of Apple, and while I suspect their senior management would think this is great as long as it’s not aimed at them, this isn’t their work. But this shows you the totalitarian mind of the radical environmentalist. Big Brother is here, and he’s green.

BTW, aren’t these the same proggies who insist that a constitutional right to privacy emanates from some penumbra somewhere? And as Anthony Watts points out, this could backfire if someone catches Michael Mann leaving his Escalade idling or if Gavin Schmidt is reported having an affair with a ton of coal.

Evolutionism, Environmentalism, and Cosmic Sympathy

For all you philosophy and the modern world nerds out there,

One way in which we see this return to paganism is the way in which the concept of cosmic sympathy has returned to the forefront of so much of our civilization’s intellectual currency. In the later Hellenistic era (to which the “Empire” portion of the history of Rome would belong), philosophy and theology were increasingly convergent — but this involved a theology that would not be generally recognized as such by Christians today for it was pantheistic and monistic, not monotheistic. In a nutshell, the entire order of existence, called the cosmos by the Greeks, was a well-ordered machine, completely self-contained, perfectly arranged, and indeed (to some thinkers) it was divinity that was supremely worthy of man’s devotion and worship. It was also understood to be in perfect sympatheia with itself, each part depending on every other part through underlying causal means that depended upon the compact wholeness of cosmic existence. Cosmic sympathy could allow a person to understand and influence the events around them.

It’s kinda long, but read the whole thing, if for no other reason than to tick selrahC off!
